Other Chatot Abuse w/ Hazards - Consistantly Peaking #1 PU

What's goin on guys my name is Joseph also known as Swagilyph. Had to put the intro in there :p
So basically what happened was is I got onto PS one day noticed there was a fresh PU ladder. Had to be atop that shit y'know? So I made a team and "laddered", I put it in quotes because it's only two days old although the ladder does finally have a top 500 so idk, and I got to #1. Then I dropped and few and got passed up and but every time I did, I got back up to the top. I'm making this rmt more for own sake and for others. I love going on to the RMT thread and taking teams and I want to make an RMT for my own ractice. So let's get into it.

By the time I'm done making this RMT I will more than likely have lost my spot at #1. So here's a picture to prove it :p

Throh (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Storm Throw
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch

Throh (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Circle Throw
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Knock Off

Bulk bro. I started with Throh because I wanted something bulky that could hit pretty hard. He is more or less the AV Conk of the team. Y'know without drain punch. Throh can come in on most things that are special attackers and hit back with some heavy hits. I have since switched out this Throh for a Spdef Poliwrath with circle throw and rest/talk but decided the extra electric weakness and coverage electric pokemon can carry has only made the team weaker. But! I did like the idea of an extra specially defensive phaser and Spdef circle throw Throw is the one. Compliments of Hammering Man
This is usually the thing I switch into Gourgeist as the team does not handle it well aside from one key member. Take a burn, deal about 50% with knock off and the widdle fest begins as you get leech seed stalled. But you usually come out with about 80% damage on it. Throh is just a solid poke with knock off. What more could you ask for. Also, Garbodor's will switch in on you and watch you beat yourself to death while they set up hazards. That is why earthquake is on the set over somthing like an elemental punch or a rock move.

Marowak @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bonemerang/Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake

568 attack. Say that with me one more time. 568 attack. Marowak is such a monster. It can ohko so many things it seemed hard to pass up. When I looked at the list I saw things like Bastiodon and Golem were in the tier and my 5th gen NU senses started tingling. While Bonemerang does have a chance to miss, its scuh a strong move WITH the ability to destroy sturdy users. That was all the appeal I needed really. I decided before playing the tier that Garbodor was going to be a pretty prominent mon and what better to threaten a Garbodor than Marowak. Things to watch out for are Gourgeist and Tanglea. I'm gonna be honest with you. I do not run knock off on my Marowak when I should. I love the utility of bonemerang and also the stability of earthquake so I run both. Do not do this. Run knock off as you will be dealing massive damage to Gourgeist, 56%-66% to be exact, and removing a Tangela's eviolite. Also the 20 speed is just to speed creep other Marowak's who dont run speed and to speed creep Golem's speed creeping other Golem's lol.

Bastiodon @ Leftovers
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 172 SpD / 12 Spe
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Toxic
- Metal Burst

I noticed Chatot was in the tier so I invested all of my nope into this mon. Gotta have a Chatot counter and here it is, kind of. Also does a pretty good job of roaring out Musharna, which is not to be slept upon. The 12 speed again is all about speed creeping. I have always won my Bastiodon vs Bastiodon roar contest because I do run the speed. The EV spread with the def was really just to give it about even defense but sense most Chatot's run HP Ground, you may just want to fully invest into Spdef. When a chatot switched in I usually go right in to this. Be aware that most Chatot's will encore you in to the rocks you will be going for but its really not that big of a deal. Calcs to keep in mind while staying in on a chatot that has HP Ground. Lefties max Spatk does about 39%-46%, Specs does about 58%-69%. You would be good to familiarize yourself with those calcs so you know if you can stay in and set up rocks or switch out into something not effected by HP Ground.

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Clear Smog
- Spikes

Fighting types are strong. Hazards are sweet. My reasoning is simple but I picked Garbodor because hazards are very threatening and things like Throh and and Sneasel will tear this team apart otherwise. Throh usually can not touch this mon aside from eathquake which wont kill you after switching in on a knock off or storm throw and will allow you to get up a hazard should you choose to. Sneasel will beat itself to death with life orb and aftermath if it stays in and if its just eviolite then it doesnt hit that hard and you can 2hko with gunk shot or setup hazards. Clear smog because nothing will setup in my face as long as i have something to say about it.

Chatot @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Boomburst
- Chatter
- Substitute
- Encore

I would be a liar if I said I didnt use this mon to abuse chatter. But its also good for stall in my honest opinion. Chatots boomburst is incredibly strong and will 3hko most Spdef walls, Bastiodon aside. The great thing about this pokemon, this set in particular, is that nothing slower can afford to not attack against it. What I typically do is switch in on an earthquake, spike, stealth rock etc, and then depending on the situation, click encore. With a mon sitting in front of you that is encored they are forced to switch out which will alow you to get up a sub and abuse chatter. Its guaranteed damage on something with chatter and if they hit themself you can just boomburst while still behind a sub. But again the amazing thing about it is that they must attack. This mo is the staple of my "success" and without it I would lose to stall every time. And I figure most people are abusing Gorebyss so I'll abuse my own poke lol.

25562-472eafb93e4cc403fbb302ddec6cca09.jpg

Haunter @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Trick
- Energy Ball

I'm honestly not sure why theres a choice scarfed Haunter on this team but its worked really well for me. Tricking things like Lickilicky and other special walls that like to switch into is such a good feeling. Its a decent revenge killer and from what I can tell poison is a pretty type in the tier right now. Dual stab with trick and energy ball for honestly no reason. I put it on there expecting there to be bulky water types and it never cam in handy aside from the fact that you can outspeed a +2 Adamant Barbaracle and ohko with energy ball. Alternatively you could run focus miss for for things like Bastiodon and Barbaracle but I cant hit a focus miss to save my life. Also more often than not I find myself tricking away the scarf and receiving an eviliolite which MIGHT allow you to take a hit :p *Just assumed it learned Focus miss lol, I've never actually used it*

So thats my team. It has a hard time with Articuno, stall and I realize Gorebyss is a threat, but I've always handled it. So if anyone have any constructive criticism I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions. I honestly dont plan on playing PU much and I probably wont be changing anything on this team because I genuinely enjoy the way it works. Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll see you guys in another RMT. Peace.

The Team as I use it: http://pastebin.com/EpREQ1FY

Seems like a pretty solid team, and since you got to #1 numerous times I don't see any reason why the team should be changed until certain bans take place. Great Job, only thing I would recommend is implementing a teambuidling process if you still remember how you did it. But yeah, good job :]

Very solid [: no complaints about the team, just Knock Off on Marowak is invaluable for Tangela and Gourgeist and I would run it over Stone Edge as Bonemerang is pretty sweet too and you very rarely miss the rock coverage. Everything dies anyway [:

Also Haunter does not get Focus Blast but in this tier Energy Ball is God anyways. Great job man. It'll be interesting to see how this tier comes together!

FUCK CHATOT WITH A RUSTY PITCHFORK

Hey man, well written rmt, the team obviously works well, I will just throw in some of my thoughts. First you don't really have a water resist and two weaknesses, which is why I think poliwrath would work well instead of throh, it also is one of the best answers to sneasel in the tier. If you use poliwrath over throh you would loose your main switch- in for gourgeist. There really aren't many mons that like to switch in on gourgeist, my suggestion isn't perfect, but i would try cm duosion over haunter. I know, duosion can't fulfill the role as revenge- killer, but it at least is a great answer for stall, in general a mon, that doesn't fear to much in the tier and a member that weakens stuff like bastidon for chatot. Another thing I noticed is that the team is pretty weak to torterra, since haunter (or I guess to be coherent duosion) and chatot can't really switch in on a woodhammer. Maybe quilladin works over garbodor, you miss out on the t- spikes, but since poison types are pretty popular, i dont think it will hurt too much. Quilladin has good synergy with the team and is a excellent wall, that has many opportunities to lay down spikes.

Certainly the team doesn't need to be changed, I just wanted to give some input, since you also put some effort in this rmt :]

So I did try out the poliwrath over throh on my team and while i did like it some situations i found it made my team more weak to things like raichu and zebstrika. A water immunity is nice but bolt beam really fucks my team. what ive done instead is changed it to spdef circle throw throh. thanks for the idea friend
