If I can ask this here, will the pre-CAPs actually be used in some kind of little CAPs kind of battle, or are they just for fun?

Hey there, DialgaTheTimeLord.
To answer your question, no, Cap Pre-Evos aren't used implemented on Pokemon showdown, we mostly make them for fun, as a flavour project, and it's a good way for people new to CAP to get an idea of how the process works. It's also more relaxed than the CAP process itself, as they aren't held up to any competitive standards. Hope that helps. :)
