Moves
========
Diancie can be used as an offensive Trick Room setter thanks to its unique typing and powerful STAB moves. Diamond Storm is a strong spread move, and the Defense boosts allow Diancie to survive strong physical hits and get a Weakness Policy boost. Moonblast is more powerful on a single target and hits the Fighting-types that Diamond Storm does not hit effectively. Protect allows Diancie to stay safe from incoming attacks and maintain its boosts.
Set Details
========
Diancie uses Weakness Policy because, with its good bulk and many weaknesses, it can easily get a boost, at which point it becomes extremely threatening. 192 HP EVs let Diancie survive Mega Charizard Y's Solar Beam and Landorus-T's Earthquake, 208 Special Attack EVs and a Quiet Nature allow Diancie to OHKO Landorus-T with Moonblast after a Weakness Policy boost, and the rest of its EVs are invested in Attack to boost Diamond Storm. With Clear Body, Intimidate users such as Landorus-T can't switch in to mitigate the threat of Diamond Storm.
Usage Tips
========
Typically, the strategy with this Diancie is to spam Diamond Storm to get Defense boosts so that you can fish for a Weakness Policy activation safely, using Moonblast only when it will OHKO. As Diancie is a Trick Room setter, you should use it to set Trick Room when the opportunity presents itself; partners with Fake Out or redirection will make this much easier. On a semi Trick Room team, Diancie can bluff its Mega set if used alongside a Pokemon with a Mega Evolution that often runs items other than its Mega Stone, such as Gengar. If your opponent has a healthy Diancie counter such as Amoonguss or Aegislash, you should usually not let Weakness Policy activate. Instead, play defensively with Diancie's useful Flying-, Fire-, and Dark-type resistances to get Trick Room up, then switch out and save it for later, as all of its momentum will be snatched away by these counters.
Team Options
========
Diancie is a decent choice for a Trick Room setter on both semi and full Trick Room teams thanks to its offensive presence and ability to counter Talonflame, which is usually a serious problem for Trick Room. On semi Trick Room teams, it's a less reliable setter than Cresselia, so it will require support such as Rage Powder and Fake Out in order to get the opening to use the move. Because of Diancie's weaknesses to common Trick Room checks, especially Aegislash and Amoonguss, it's not the right choice for every team. If you do plan to use it, make sure to pack multiple counters to these; Fire-types such as Mega Camerupt and Talonflame are great picks, while Scrafty can eliminate Aegislash and help Diancie set Trick Room with Fake Out support.

evs: 192 HP / 108 Atk / 208 SpA

Moves
========
- Trick Room is used in order to support Diancie's team by reversing the speed tiers for 4 turns
- Diamond Storm is STAB spread move that can hit many threats hard
- Moonblast targets Fighting-types and Wide Guard users such as Hitmontop
- Protect allows Diancie to stay safe while its partner eliminates threats
========
- Weakness Policy is used as Diancie has many weaknesses but still has good bulk letting it take advantage of the boosts
- 192 HP lets Diancie live Mega Charizard Y's Solarbeam and Landorus-T's Earthquake, while 108 Attack lets Diancie OHKO Rotom-H at +2 with Diamond Storm, the rest is used in Special Attack to boost Moonblast's power, allowing to to OHKO standard Landorus-T with a +2 Moonblast
- Quiet nature makes Diancie as slow as possible while also boosting Moonblast's damage output
- Clear Body is helpful against Intimidate users such as Landorus-T after getting a Weakness Policy boost
Usage Tips
========
- Always try to set up Trick Room first as it makes Diancie "fast"
- Protect to scout for dangerous moves such as Steel Wing from Talonflame while this also allows your partner to eliminate threats
- Do not try to go for a Weakness Policy boost if Diancie cannot make use of the boosts anyway
- As Moonblast is much stronger against a single target, it is more useful than Diamond Storm if you only want to damage a certain Pokemon
- Spamming Diamond Storm for boosts is possible if Diancie is going to stay in for a while
- At times when getting the Weakness Policy boost may be too risky, utilize Diancie's useful Fire- and Dark-type resists to play more defensively
Team Options
========
- Can work as a setter on both semi and full TR teams, is a good pick for its ability to dunk Talonflame who is often a problem for TR
- On semi TR, absolutely needs support (such as Rage Powder or Fake Out) to get the opening to set
- Pokemon which can eliminate Steels—especially Aegislash—and Amoonguss are really good partners. Fire-types like Mega Camerupt and Talonflame are great for this; Scrafty can eliminate most steels and also provides FO.
