Diglett, with its blistering 20 Speed and incredible ability in Arena Trap, once again finds itself as one of the strongest Pokemon in Little Cup. Outspeeding every unboosted Pokemon in the metagame, sans Voltorb which it ties with, Diglett is can mostly pick and choose its targets, most commonly Pokemon that are weak to Ground or heavily chipped. Rock Blast allows Diglett to hit Flying-types and Nymble, as well as making Life Orb Diglett one of the most effective anti-leads to Focus Sash Surskit. Sucker Punch allows Diglett to KO Speed-boosted Pokemon which it can no longer trap, while Tera Blast offers Diglett a new coverage option. Substitute and Protect both serve the same defensive role, but the former is better against Sucker Punch, switches and Wattrel's Hurricane, while the latter is preferable for First Impression and scouting Choice Scarfs. Substitute and Protect also allow Diglett to scout for opposing Terastallization, which it forces fairly often with Arena Trap. Life Orb allows Diglett to hit as hard as possible for better trapping. Diglett is also an incredibly strong user of Terastalization. The ability to become an Ice-type and Tera Blast Pokemon like Wattrel and Drifloon, Tera Flying to beat opposing Diglett, Foongus, and Toedscool, and even Tera Ground on sets without Tera Blast to further bolster Earthquake opens up enormous opportunity for Diglett to remove major threats and even serve as a sweeper. Diglett's ability also allows the use of further specialised Tera types to remove specific threats, though this is of course heavily team dependent. Diglett's best teammates are ones that want certain things removed to shine, such as Mareanie, who wants opposing Choice Scarf Magnemite unable to risk clicking an Electric-type move in case Diglett comes in, or Rain teams which can appreciate Diglett designed to remove opposing Mareanie and Toedscool. Other great teammates are Zorua and Toedscool, which can threaten the Ghost-types that are immune to trapping, while using Knock Off to remove Eviolites and Choice Scarfs, heavily reducing Arena Trap counterplay.

[SET COMMENTS]

Diglett can opt to forego the damage boost from Life Orb in favour of more bulk and utility, allowing it to survive important attacks such as Pawniard's Sucker Punch and Choice Scarf Magnemite's Flash Cannon, which would otherwise be a nuisance. Furthermore, this additional bulk means that Diglett can serve reasonably well as role compression for teams without another Stealth Rock user. Alternatively, Final Gambit can be used as an emergency stop against sweepers like Crabrawler, which can be extremely dangerous with Terastallization. Memento can be a greatly valuable utility on certain Hyper Offensive teams, as when combined with Arena Trap, Diglett is able to choose an opposing Pokemon heavily weaken, facilitating an easy set-up opportunity for Pokemon such as Shell Smash Shellder. Tera Ground allows Eviolite Diglett to hit harder with Earthquake, making up for the loss of Life Orb, whereas Tera Flying is valuable for countering opposing Diglett. These factors make Eviolite Diglett best on teams that need its utility, or with strong teammates that can hit hard in Diglett's place, Shellder and Chewtle being the most notable examples.

The combination of Diglett's incredible speed tier, which allows it to outspeed every unboosted Pokemon in the Metagame aside from the niche Voltorb and an incredible ability in Arena Trap, allowing it to pick and choose what targets it wants to fight, makes Diglett a metagame-defining Pokemon. (I feel like alot of the info here is not really needed ; you don't have to talk about how Diglett traps Ground weak Pokemon, i feel like the reader would find this obvious when using diglett and redundant) Rock Blast allows Diglett to hit Flying-types, as well as making Life Orb Diglett one of the most effective anti-leads to Focus Sash Surskit. Diglett an effective anti-lead to common leads such as Focus Sash Surskit. Sucker Punch allows Diglett to KO Speed-boosted Pokemon which it can no longer trap (Mention Scarfers), while Tera Blast offers Diglett a new coverage option. (Such as? I would put the sentences on flying and ice here.) Substitute and Protect both serve the same defensive role, but the former is better against Sucker Punch (I would mention something on how it allows diglett to beat pawn here) and switches, while the latter is preferable for First Impression Nymble (What else is running FI? Just mention nymble.) and scouting. Life Orb allows Diglett to hit as hard as possible for better trapping, but Eviolite can be used instead to survive some important attacks like Sucker Punch from Pawniard. Tera Terastalization (Believe this is the correct term) is both Diglett's biggest strength and biggest weakness:; The ability to become an Ice-type and Tera Blast Pokemon like Toedscool and Drifloon, which would otherwise check Diglett, or Tera Flying to beat opposing Diglett opens up new doors, but the ability for otherwise easy targets like Mareanie and Pawniard to instead tank and KO Diglett with the press of a button introduces incredible risk to Diglett interactions. (Im not sure what you mean by this; Mare is still trapped by Dig EQ no? If you can explain in discord what you mean by this that would be great.) However, since in most cases only Diglett has the ability to switch out, these interactions are usually weighed in its favor. Diglett's best teammates are ones that want certain things removed to shine, such as Mareanie, who wants opposing Choice Scarf Magnemite unable to risk clicking an Electric-type move in case Diglett comes in, who appreciates Diglett threatening opposing Electric-types, or Rain teams which can appreciate Diglett's designed presence to remove opposing Mareanie and Toedscool. Other great teammates are Zorua and Toedscool, which can threaten the Ghost-types that are immune to trapping, while using Knock Off to remove Eviolites, Choice Scarfs, and Shed Shells, heavily reducing Arena Trap counterplay. Another great teamate is Zorua, which can threaten the Ghost-types that are immune to Arena Trap, while using Knock Off to remove Eviolites and Choice Scarfs, heavily reducing Arena Trap counterplay. (I wouldnt say Toedscool "Threatens" Ghost-types. Gast can Willo it / Poison it with Sludge and Driftloon can get unburden proctd and make it outspeed dig / makes acro stronger. The Zorua mention is fine.)

Drifting the QC team has decided to make Eviolite Diglett its own set. Please edit accordingly and we'll check it.
I don't quite understand this. Are they not basically the exact same spread/ability/moves/nature and honestly same purpose for the most part? What merits it being a different set, and how would you write about it distinctly enough to make its own set comments.

And we're back!

Substitute and Protect both serve the same defensive role, but the former is better against Sucker Punch and switches, while the latter is preferable for First Impression and scouting. Mention that Sub/Tect are used to scout teras; probably the most important reason they are used. You can move the section on opposing Pokemon teraing to escape Diglett here Life Orb allows Diglett to hit as hard as possible for better trapping. Tera is both Diglett's biggest strength and biggest weakness: The ability to become an Ice-type and Tera Blast Pokemon like Toedscool and Drifloon, or Tera Flying to beat opposing Diglett opens up new doors, but the ability for otherwise easy targets like Mareanie and Pawniard to instead tank and KO Diglett with the press of a button introduces incredible risk to Diglett interactions. Rewrite this sentence to just mention what Diglett's various tera types are used for; see my previous comment However, since in most cases only Diglett has the ability to switch out, these interactions are usually weighed in its favor. Diglett can opt to forego the damage boost from Life Orb in favour of more bulk and utility.,(AC) Opposing Pokemon will require more chip damage to trap and remove, but in return Diglett can now allowing it to survive important attacks such as Pawniard's Sucker Punch and Choice Scarf Magnemite's Flash Cannon, which would otherwise be a nuisance. Furthermore, this additional bulk means that Diglett can serve reasonably well as role compression for teams without another Stealth Rock user. Alternatively, Final Gambit can be used as an emergency stop against sweepers like Crabrawler, which can be extremely dangerous with Terastallization. Add two sentences here: one on Memento, and one on tera type choice These factors make Eviolite Diglett best on teams that need its utility, or with strong teammates that can hit hard in Diglett's place. Provide specific examples (setup sweepers, etc.)
