With a sizable lead, Team 6 by thetalkingtree wins the week! The runner-up is Team 5 by megacyber.

For this week, we'll be having:

Suicune + Breloom! The two have pretty obvious synergy right there; Suicune takes out Lando-T and Fire-types while Breloom beats Water-types and Spores everything else. A Breloom in Tailwind is not a fun foe to face. Build 'em!

Code:
<sprites>
[hide=Importable][/hide]
[hide=Description][/hide]
Nifty sprite converter: http://fulllifegamer.bplaced.net/format.php - Just put in your importable and you'll get sprites. I'd prefer it if you guys set it to "sprites" to save me some important seconds, and name the hide tags as "Importable" and "Description" thanks :)!

Deadline on Friday, noon GMT+1

I built this team around Charizard-Y + Breloom because I think Venusaur is the second gayest mon to ever be created (first is serperior fuck that thing) and Amoonguss is ugly as fuck. Seeing as I was using Breloom, Suicune came to me immediatly as a good partner for both Breloom and Charizard-Y, being able to beat Talonflame and criple both Diancie and Landorus-Therian with a burn. Next up I chose Landorus-Therian for extra help against Talonflame and Diancie, with an added bonus of shitting on Heatran. It was also a Thunder Wave immunity which is appreciated with Charizard-Y. Lastly I chose Aegislash as my steel type for the Wide Guard support, which would help against the Sun mirror and Landorus-T, also a more reliable Fairy and Sleep switch-in than any of my mons. Aegislash is also my prime Diancie check. Lastly but not least I wanted a Dragon for its resistances, and chose Latios because its a Keldeo counter which was looking like a troublesome Pokemon. I'm using HP Ground on both Charizard-Y and Latios for Heatran, in compensation I'm using Flamethrower on the Charizard-Y set to hit Pokemon through Wide Guard and have higher single target damage against resistances and neutrals.

not even that reliant on speed control™

So I start with Breloom and Cune. I go with the standard set for both, as these are both the best options. Next up, I added Sub Heatran to help with the sun and trick room matchups. Next, I add Cresselia. This set is pretty offensive, enough SpA to kill Lando T with Ice Beam and enough speed to outspeed it under tailwind, max hp, 80 def and the rest in special defense. That's a common phys def benchmark but I don't remember what it does. This also has Helping Hand and Trick Room for the wonderful support both of these options provide. Next up, I add Mega Kang. Not much needs to be said here, offensive powerhouse that supports the team with fake out to allow me to get up speed control or subs when I need to. Next, I go for the lellers and add Life Orb Tyrantrum. This thing is a fuckin powerhouse. I think this lives like heatran EP or something, rest in attack.

All in all, this tailroom team really loves the speed control, and it isn't too fond of rain, but rain is trash. Fuck rain.

fun fact: we're out of time!
This is probably going to sound like a checkmater sort of thing BUT I'll say it anyway :B. Ever since I started using that Breloom+Zard X team I ended up really liking it, and ever since then everytime I see Breloom I think Zard X. That Tailwind team (fuck Stratos) was really sick when I was using it originally, and so I decided to replicate it but with Suicune and not offensive Thundurus+WG Aegislash because that wasn't working out well at all.

This little fucker lets me just Tailwind spam everything and not get in any trouble (except against Cresselia... but Knock Off Hariyama helps me out a bit in Sporing it). It hits Rotom-W that would try to ruin me and it makes it hard for Trick Room/Kangaskhan/Heatran/Sylveon/really anything not grass type that doesn't usually hold goggles.

The main character and tailwind setter Suicune enters. The spread lives 2 hits of Adamant Mega Kangaskhan Return, assuming I haven't switched it in/taken some other damage yet like I always do in Doubles. Scald/Ice Beam are all you need because nice access is an old meme. Protect makes the team a lord squad because that means it doesn't have Scarf Spinda/Landorus-T.

The main character was Suicune but this man is the star of the show. My secondary Tailwind setter can go up to Latios and be like OH MY GOD THIS IS A FREE WIN and not have it be a free win because Latios wins in this matchup. That probably wasn't funny.
Also people vote for things that just won a seasonal/are starter pokemon/look cool.

This is a neat mon with DD and it helps me beat Zard Y by resisting Heat Wave being immune to Sleep Powder and having Stone Edge. It's also obviously faster than Lando-T and Venusaur after 2 DD's and hits both with reasonable amounts of damage. It's also cash.

I went for a trains variant but of course non mega and not perish trap. Yeah. I should probably use Sludge Bomb>Disable but I don't feel like doing that. Disable is shorter to type.

Fake Out lets me get up Tailwind easily, and Feint lets me use it. Close Combat gets MKanga and Knock Off helps against Cresselia Jellicent and Aegislash that I can't either Spore to sleep or kill with either Tailwind setter (Aegislash does lose to Zard X though I want to be able to break sub on it and kill).

Once again I would like to say that I used zard x tailwind before ssnl finals happened.
This team probably looks bad but it's really fun+won me my two test matches.

Mega Latias Set-up Sweeper Tank
So imo, Mega Latias has a lot of potential to be an awesome set up sweeper, if its teammates can eliminate the big time threads. This team is 4/6 of memorics team and 5/6 of same typing of pokemon; so it has a strong foundation but with a different strategy mind set.

Threats to Latias and my checks.
  • Steel types
    • Heatran with flamethrower to get by wide guard Aegislash
    • Landorus EQ and Superpower
    • Breloom Mach punch and spore
  • Fairy types
    • Jirachi Iron Head, Follow Me
    • Heatran
    • Max speed breloom to Spore
    • Suicune and Lando for Diance
  • Ghost types
    • Snarl Suicune
    • Spore Breloom
  • Dark Types
    • Mach Punch Breloom
    • Superpower Lando
  • Dragon Types
    • Follow Me Jirachi
    • Icy Wind Jirachi
    • U-Turn Lando for Latios/Hydre
Latias can out run max speed base 70s out of tailwind. Under one icy wind it will outrun 110s.

seems pretty basic enough, running snarl>ice beam suicune because people dont like being snarled. i think its the dex spread for suicune, so bulk + offensive presence. breloom covers well for suicune, and is a beast undertailwind with spore spam. running a taunt gardevoir hits trick room/tailwind setters with an unplesant surprise, especially when combined with breloom. landorus is the standard offensive variant, with sludge bomb because the team doesnt appreciate fairies too much, but other alternatives can be used to vary coverage. heatran is the amongus switch in, and has flash cannon again for fairies since they take a good toll on this team. latios is the 2nd tailwind setter, great synergy with heatran, and thats pretty much it

it's stall. need i say more? mega sableye is great with its nice access to snarl. aegislash supports the team with wide guard support and walling foes like mega kangaskhan. suicune beats sub users and setup sweepers with roar and also gives nice damage control with snarl and scald. salamence provides wish and intimidate support while also resisting fire. breloom beats bisharp and seeds opponents to wear them down more effectively. heatran gives hazard support to discourage switching and magma storm to do damage to steel types that cant be poisoned and for trapping.
