Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
With a lead of one vote, Mishimono takes the week! Congrats :)!
This week's Pokemon is:
Gastrodon - glop glop. Gastrodon makes a niche for itself as a decent answer to Water-type Pokemon by being able to redirect Water-type moves thanks to its ability, Storm Drain. It also has a decent match-up against a good number of common threats such as Heatran and Landorus-T. However, it is prone to getting beat down by strong attacks in general and just doesn't pose much of a presence offensively. It also has a massive weakness to Grass; this can prove annoying as this means it can't check Ludicolo, a Swift Swim attacker for rain teams.
Sun team built around CM Cress + CharY because Moonlight is good under sun :> Standard HP Ground Zardy because the team can't let Heatran get up a Sub. Cress set allows it to CM up on Bisharp because it takes less from Knock Off and outspeeds it, while Rocky Helmet dicks with Sash Bisharp and Kangaskhan. Added Scarf Lando-T for a Diancie check, switchin to opposing Lando-T, and Intimidate which works well with the more specially bulky CharY and Cresselia. Heatran under sun roasts a ton of shit with Fire Blast, Timid Shuca gives me the absolute best chance in the mirror. Gastrodon gives me Storm Drain which is really important when 3/4 of your team members atm are weak to water ~_~ Clear Smog is used because the team doesn't have checks for opposing CM Cress and dealing with a +2 Kang is a bitch. Finally, Aegis is a third Diancie switchin and Wide Guard, which obv works well with CharY and sometimes Tran.

I started off with Diancie+Volc because it's a pretty fun core that I wanted to use. Next was Gastro because it beats things like Heatran, Diancie, Talonflame, and Thundurus so Volc has an easier time sweeping. I have Bug buzz on Volc over Giga Drain because I feel the team struggles more so with Hoppa than Diancie/Keldeo. Aegislash because WG is really nice especially for Diancie and Volc. I didn't really know what to put last, I was messing around with Scrafty and other stuff but the team really needed some ground immunes so I just added genies. idk I made this team like 3 weeks ago.
This team is mostly for the lolz, but it wins against most teams with a good player behind it. In short, it's Skill Swap Espeon + CM Cress with four Aegislash/Dark-type checks.
This team was originally made a year ago, I made it like late last March / April and it was originally featured as an earlier version during PoTW. Skymin was allowed back then so some of the sets were changed to reflect the differences in the metagame. The Diancie set is standard, and was the original feature member of the team. Volcarona as the main partner was an idea given to me by Stratos, and it was back when Rage Powder Volcarona was in vogue. I decided to recreate that set with a modified Quiver Dance set that could provide a quick win-condition if need be, or provide support. It's a tricky set to use and is probably way outdated since Skymin isn't around to keep Diancie in check anymore. A more modern FW + QD set would probably be more appropriate so if you do use this team, I'd recommend it. Toxic Gastrodon provides passive redirection from Water-type moves and a way to beat CM Cress which was dominating the metagame at the time, as well as Rotom-W which was a tricky matchup. Expert Belt, along with the heavy SpA investment allowed it to function reasonably well as an offensive option against Trick Room teams which were also tricky, and Recover allowed it to stay alive longer if need be. Kyurem-B came in as another way to beat Grass-types if Volcarona was out of commission, and another way to beat Landorus-T since Gastrodon is deceptively frail. It also served as an immovable object against the standard Ludicolo + Politoed rain duo. The EV spread used is an updated version of the old one which only ran 56 Spe to creep Bisharp, as it now outruns Jolly Breloom. I used a large amount of HP investment as Kyurem-B is also used to absorb a lot of hits and the SpA is still enough to do everything I need from Kyurem offensively. Standard WG + WP Aegislash that just pairs really well with Diancie, Volcarona, and Kyurem-B, and a slightly different offensive Thundurus fill out the last 2 slots. I opted for Focus Blast instead of the more common Flash Cannon / HP Ice options since I wanted a more aggressive way to beat Kangaskhan, and I already have quite a few ways of beating Landorus-T. I don't know how well this team has carried over since Skymin was a big part of it, but it's fun as hell and like half the teams above adopted something from it ;^)
I can't remember when I made it but this is a pretty fun Surf Spam team that completely revolves around Gastrodon. It's a lot of fun and super easy to use. As you can probably guess from just looking at the Pokemon, the plan is set Trick Room with Musharna or Slowking and then start clicking surf beside Gastrodon for special attack boosts. If that sounds gimmicky to you then good job because you're right, this team was of course made just to have fun. The two Surf immune Pokemon are Telepathy Musharna and Gastrodon, but Politoed and Slowking will be OK if you have to Surf next to them as well. The Musharna EV spread lives a Shadow Ball from Life Orb Aegislash and always 2HKOs 252hp/84sdef Sassy natured Amoonguss with the remaining EVs in Def. The details on the Kangaskhan EV spread are posted here and I gave it Fire Punch to deal with Ferrothorn. Yeah my Ferrothorn checks are Kangaskhan and HP Fire Amoonguss, very successful. I've used this team a few times and it wins a lot more than you might guess, give it a try!
built this team around victini + scarf thund t. victini is sitrus glaciate. it has final gambit too lol. thundy t is scarf. victini helps u help focus blast. has 2 electric moves and hp ice, standard etc. mega diancie is standard, is a strong fast fairy. gastrodon is amazing for those first 3 mons, removing the water weakness of victini and diancie, and beating ground types for thundy. next we have latios bc team needs the dragon psychic coverage. this has roar rofl it beats trick room. next is conkeldurr for trick room and kangaskhan. sick as fuck team etc.

So I started with Gastrodon and picked Gardevoir as my mega since it struggles against Steels, which Gastrodon checks, and Gardevoir can provide Trick Room support, which Gastrodon appreciates. Next I added Heatran to check Grass and Steel types, specifically Amoonguss and Aegislash. Then I added Amoonguss mainly for Trick Room Spore, but also since it pairs nicely with Heatran and it completes a F/W/G core. I added Landorus because I was pretty weak to Steel-types, and Intimidate is nice. It also gives me an offensive check to Kangaskhan. Finally I added Gengar because I wanted a mon immune to Ground for Landorus, and WoW + Taunt is great support for Gardevoir, who doesn't appreciate Spore or strong physical attackers.
The Gastrodon EVs are from n10sit's analysis in progress. The Gardevoir EVs are from Kyle's post in the EV spread compendium. The rest of the spreads are standard.
You could run a min Speed Eruption Heatran if you wanted, but I didn't want to be so reliant on TR. Icy Wind is a cool option on Gengar, but then you have to get ride of Protect or another supportive move which I wouldn't particularly want to do.
