This is a conversion of a Battle Spot team Dawgie and I tried a while ago for the 'underdogs only' season of Battle Spot. The aim here is to clear out two large threats on the field with an early Fake Out from Sableye + Explosion from CB Metagross, which unsurprisingly kills stuff really hard. Following this, we have a neato FWG + Dragon offensive core in the back to delete things:
  • Mega Houndoom is a neat switch-in after the initial Explosion and can start dealing serious damage right off the bat with Sableye's Sunny Day or Quash to get over the initial pre-Mega 95 Speed. Generally performs best with a type advantage or as a late-game cleaner, since otherwise you'll be doing 80% to everything.
  • Scarf Roserade also preys easily off type advantages, and can catch opponents off-guard easily, for example by Sludge Bombing their +1 Mega Altaria. On the other hand, it can also chunk things heavily with a pretty powerful Leaf Storm or a Sun-boosted Technician HP Fire. Alternatives include using Weather Ball over HP Fire and HP Ice over Giga Drain if you really want that Ice coverage.
  • Feraligatr is decently bulky so it's not hard to get it set up, though it does appreciates Taunt support from Sableye to avoid getting burnt or having to face TR at +1 Speed (Sableye is conveniently EV'd to speed creep other Sableye). Intimidate support from Salamence is also handy. Once it gets to +1, it can put a lot of damage into things!
  • Finally, Salamence provides Intimidate support, Tailwind support, and can also nuke stuff with a LO Draco Meteor (though I wish that did a bit more damage sometimes).

Did you know:
Ice Shard from an adamant Mamoswine is a guaranteed ohko on Roserade? What a shit mon.

But seriously am going to start using Mamo as my ground attacker now that so many of you are on the Roserade train :0

Roserade was the starting point, and from there I added Mega Slowbro because it synergizes well with it. Rotom-H was added as a sleep immune/ Ground immune and it also added T-Wave support. Darkrai was added to combat the Psychic types that Roserade struggles against and as a second Mega Metagross check. Hariyama offers status switchin and a powerful Close Combat, while also helping the team by allowing easier set up and giving them a chance to spread status. Latias offers Tailwind support to Roserade, Darkrai and Rotom.

semi trick room built around diancie + gastrodon. they have good offensive synergy with gastrodon killing steels and diancie killing literally everything else, and good defensive synergy, especially with gastrodon's storm drain. west is best. hariyama for fake out support. metagross works ridiculously well on semi trick room because it can be either fast or slow, ur choice. roserade for the grass/tangela killer since the core gets eaten by any given grass type. honchcrow for strong priority and hoopa killer

xzern wins the week after a close vote, congrats!

This week, we're doing Hoopa in DUU! Similar to its Unbound forme, Hoopa is a frail-ish powerful attacker that can break through protection. Its middling Speed leaves it vulnerable to a lot of stuff in the metagame and holds it back from being a good straight-up attacker, but it does work fine with Trick Room

Deadline of building on Saturday GMT Noon!

This team is just 2 simple normal-ghost-steel cores with secondary typings that ensure that they have good synergy with each other. Hoopa + Mag hit like absolute trucks, even with the fact that it is Nasty Plot Hoopa. Lopunny gives fake out while Klefki just swags stuff. Not much else to say about it.

Built this with Clius around an idea he had of using Chesnaught to beat diancie and mega blastoise and wall roserade with bulletproof. Chesnaught absolutely stomps a ton of stuff with fighting/grass coverage, while stone edge was picked to hit victini/flying types like salamence or tornadus. Added Hoopa here as it was teambuilding mon and could break protects in TR for chesnaught. At this point, we decided to add a strong spread attacker to abuse hoopa breaking protect, and what better mon to add on TR than mega stoise? At this point the team needed a second reliable setter that could beat opposing hoopa, and diancie fit the bill perfectly. Went with lum so it could set TR against tangela and ignore burns/swagger confusion. As of now the team had a pretty bad genesect and mega metagross matchup without TR up, so we decided to add magmar to wall the two and provide support for setting TR. The last mon we added, scarf kyurem, is there as the fast mode of the team and fixes crawdaunt, mega aerodactyl, and tangela matchups outside TR. Also switched protect on mega stoise with fake out to help set TR.
