[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Exeggutor shines as a strong special attacker with its impressive 125 base Special Attack, good offensive typing, and great coverage. However, its mediocre base Speed of 45 leaves it outpaced by most of the metagame. Luckily, due to its access to Trick Room, Alolan Exeggutor is a great cleaner with an amazing matchup against offensive teams, as it outpaces and can KO most offensive Pokemon under Trick Room. In some matchups, however, its mediocre defensive typing leaves it struggling to get Trick Room up or function outside of it, although it does have usage outside. Additionally, Trick Room Alolan Exeggutor struggles to break bulky teams with specially defensive walls such as Audino, but Alolan Exeggutor can also run a wall-breaking Choice Specs set. However, this set faces more competition from Guzzlord and Drampa as Dragon-type wallbreakers, though it finds its main niches in its Grass typing and lack of a Fighting-type weakness.

Moves
========

Trick Room allows for Alolan Exeggutor to outpace normally faster threats, allowing it to clean opposing teams late-game. Draco Meteor is Alolan Exeggutor's strongest Dragon-type STAB move and hits most Pokemon for unresisted damage, although it does lower its Special Attack, limiting its ability to spam the move. Giga Drain is weaker than Leaf Storm but is more reliable and offers recovery, making it the Grass-type STAB move of choice. Leaf Storm is the strongest Grass-type STAB attack that Alolan Exeggutor possesses but also lowers its Special Attack, which does not mix well with Draco Meteor. Energy Ball is a middle-ground Grass-type STAB move that is stronger than Giga Drain but does not restore Alolan Exeggutor's HP while being weaker than Leaf Storm without lowering Special Attack. Flamethrower is a great coverage move to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Shiftry.

Set Details
========

Frisk allows Alolan Exeggutor to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which can be effective throughout a game. Dragonium Z allows for a one-time 195-Base Power Devastating Drake that does not lower Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack, guaranteeing KOs on threats such as Mesprit and Magmortar while damaging other checks. Life Orb boosts all of Alolan Exeggutor's attacking moves, although it limits its sustainability, as it chips away at its health. A Quiet nature with 0 Speed IVs allows Alolan Exeggutor to outspeed most Pokemon under Trick Room while maximum Special Attack EVs allow Alolan Exeggutor to hit as hard as it can, and Max HP EVs allow it to be as bulky as possible.

Usage Tips
========

When attempting to set up Trick Room, make sure that the Pokemon Alolan Exeggutor is trying to set up on does not have the ability to KO it, such as Archeops and Piloswine. Don't waste Alolan Exeggutor's Z-Move unless you need it to net a KO or absolutely need to hit an opposing Pokemon hard without getting a Special Attack drop. Be wary of Special Attack drops from Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm, as they can turn Alolan Exeggutor into setup fodder for opposing Pokemon. Alolan Exeggutor cannot run recovery, so it is important to keep it healthy, especially if it is holding a Life Orb. For this reason, offensive Trick Room Alolan Exeggutor functions best as a late-game cleaner under Trick Room, as it can easily pick off weakened Pokemon, rather than attempting to break down walls itself.

Team Options
========

Trick Room Alolan Exeggutor helps support slower Pokemon such as Piloswine and Golem, as they can take advantage of Trick Room themselves. Due to its Grass typing, Alolan Exeggutor pairs well with Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan. On the other hand, Alolan Exeggutor appreciates Pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire- and Ice-types for it, such as Gurdurr and Primeape. Due to its access to Trick Room and its offensive presence, Alolan Exeggutor is a staple on Trick Room teams, so it works well with Pokemon such as Crabominable, Ursaring, and Musharna. Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Primeape and Zangoose can help break down teams and take on checks to Alolan Exeggutor such as Miltank and Magmortar, which are only KOed by Devastating Drake.

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Alolan Exeggutor's strongest Dragon-type STAB move and hits most Pokemon for unresisted damage, although it does lower Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack, limiting its ability to spam the move, especially with a Choice item. Similarly, Leaf Storm is Alolan Exeggutor's strongest Grass-type STAB move and hits very hard but lowers its Special Attack. Flamethrower is great coverage to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Lurantis. Giga Drain is weaker than Leaf Storm but is more reliable, as it does not drop Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack and offers recovery. Sludge Bomb is an option to hit Fairy-types such as Togetic and Granbull, as the former walls it otherwise and the latter is able to freely use Play Rough against it. Sleep Powder is a risky move to be locked into; however, it can be very effective to put a threat to sleep and then take it on with other teammates.

Set Details
========

Frisk allows Alolan Exeggutor to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which can be effective throughout a game. Choice Specs, paired with maximum Special Attack investment and a Modest nature, allows Alolan Exeggutor to hit very hard but locks it into one move. The additional power provided by Choice Specs allows Alolan Exeggutor to KO threats such as Miltank and Mesprit. 44 Speed EVs allow it to outpace uninvested base 50s such as Regirock and Eelektross, and the rest is put into HP to allow it to be as bulky as it can be.

Usage Tips
========

To bring Alolan Exeggutor onto the field, use slow pivoting moves such as Lanturn's Volt Switch and Komala's U-turn. Additionally, you can double switch to get Alolan Exeggutor into the field against more passive Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. Be wary of Ice-type coverage, such as Piloswine's Ice Shard, Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, and Floatzel's Ice Beam, as they can all OHKO Alolan Exeggutor without prior damage. Since Alolan Exeggutor is using a Choice item, choose moves effectively, since it will be locked into them; unwise selection gives an opposing Pokemon a chance to set up against it. Bring in Alolan Exeggutor whenever it has chances to switch in, as it works best breaking down opposing Pokemon for its teammates as early and as often as possible.

Team Options
========

Cleaners that appreciate having a special wallbreaker, such as Pyroar, Mr. Mime, Oricorio-E, and Alolan Raichu, are good teammates for Alolan Exeggutor, as they can clean easier with walls being weakened. Additionally, Alolan Exeggutor pairs well with Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan, as it can weaken their answers with its strong attacks. Pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire-, and Ice-types such as Gurdurr and Primeape are good partners, as they allow Alolan Exeggutor to survive and use its STAB moves more often. Moreover, slow Pokemon with pivoting moves such as Eelektross and Lanturn work as well, as they can pivot into Alolan Exeggutor without it taking damage.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Alolan Exeggutor can run Grassium Z on the Trick Room set, as it provides a very strong Grass-type attack; however, it generally has worse utility than Dragonium Z because more Pokemon resist Grass-type moves. Alternatively, Petaya Berry + Harvest can be effective to boost Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack; however, it is hard to manage, as Exeggutor has to drop below a quarter of its health for the Berry to activate and does not offer much damage output prior to activating. Similarly, a pinch Berry such as an Iapapa Berry can be effective, as it can heal Alolan Exeggutor and can be restored with Harvest, but it loses the damage output provided by the other sets. Yache Berry can be used to take on Ice-type coverage better; however, due to Alolan Exeggutor's 4x weakness, it is still hit very hard by said coverage. Synthesis can be run to offer Exeggutor some recovery, although it takes away a moveslot that can be used for a more useful move and can waste a turn of Trick Room. SubSeed is an interesting set, as Alolan Exeggutor is very bulky and does not have many weaknesses; however, it does not take advantage of its amazing Special Attack and coverage. A physical set with Swords Dance, Dragon Hammer, Earthquake, and Wood Hammer has merit, although it is usually not as effective as the special variants, as it cannot break Pokemon such as Miltank and Ferroseed as easily.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Alolan Exeggutor's mediocre base 45 Speed, many faster Pokemon like Absol, Mesprit, and Zangoose are able to deal massive amounts of damage to it before it can attack or set up Trick Room.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Swanna, Archeops, Togetic, and Charizard can hit Alolan Exeggutor very hard with their Flying-type STAB moves. In addition, many Flying-types resist Alolan Exeggutor's Grass-type STAB moves, which can force it into using Draco Meteor or make it setup fodder. Apart from Togetic, however, none of them are able to switch into a Dragon-type move.

**Ice-type Coverage**: Ice-type coverage is incredibly dangerous to Alolan Exeggutor since is KOed by almost any Ice-type attack. Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Piloswine can easily revenge kill it with Ice Shard, even under Trick Room, while Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo can outpace it out of Trick Room and OHKO it with Ice Beam.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially defensive walls such as Audino, Type: Null, and Probopass can take on Alolan Exeggutor despite its high Special Attack due to their typings and bulk. Audino can stall it out using Wish and Protect, Type: Null can Rest or set up against it, and Probopass can take every hit it wants to dish out. Additionally, Pokemon such as Assault Vest Magmortar, Assault Vest Eelektross, and Miltank also check Alolan Exeggutor, although they are OHKOed by Devastating Drake. Miltank stands out as an answer, as it has access to Sap Sipper and recovery, while Drampa with Sap Sipper is also able to switch into Choice-locked Alolan Exeggutor.

**Residual Damage**: Since Alolan Exeggutor does not usually run Synthesis or a recovery item, it can be easily broken down through conditions such as Toxic and Life Orb recoil, as well as entry hazards.

[OVERVIEW]

  • One of the few viable Special Attacking Dragons in the tier, other than Drampa and Guzzlord. i mean we have 3 good strong ones, idt that's a big thing to mention
  • slow, but strong, with impressive 125 base Special Attack, good offensive typing, and great coverage
  • not weak to priority because of bulk + typing also not entirely a huge point worthy of getting into the overview
  • solid defensive typing helps it get Trick Room up and its defensive typing kinda blows
  • Great cleaner with amazing matchup against offensive teams the stuff id be trying to get across is the great cleaner/super strong/tr fucks offense hard/coverage points. the rest tries to be generic but doesn't exactly apply
  • Struggles to break some bulky teams as Specially Defensive walls such as Audino have the ability to take it on.
also needs a point about lame defensive typing- exact opposite of what u said- because it can be slightly hard to set up

[SET]

  • Dragonium Z allows for a one-time 195 Base Power Draco Meteor which hits very hard without giving drops to Exeggutor-Alola, guaranteeing KOs on threats such as Mesprit and Magmortar and damaging checks. also no drops!!!! v nice

  • A Quiet Nature with 0 Speed IVs allows Exeggutor-Alola to outspeed most Pokemon under Trick Room.
  • Max Special Attack EVs allow Exeggutor-Alola to hit as hard as it can, supported by a boosting nature, while Max HP EVs allow it to be as bulky as possible.
Usage Tips
========

  • set up trick room on weaker Pokemon such as Regirock and Miltank without Toxic honestly u can set it up on a ton of shit as long as u take the hit. I've found setting up on scarf ape or specs guzzlord just as crucial
  • Don't waste your Z move unless you need it to net a KO again, idk, using it to avoid drops can be a quite important tech and worth mentioning here
  • be wary of special attacking drops from Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm
  • lacks recovery so it is important to keep healthy, especially with a Life Orb specifically, it's more of a mon u avoid bringing in until late game sweeping time unless absolutely necessary

Team Options
========

  • slower pokemon such that would appreciate Trick Room for themselves
  • pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types examples pls
  • pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire- and Ice-types, such as Gurdurr and Primeape
  • staple on trick room teams
  • cleaners that can use its wallbreaking to win late game also examples, although this is generally the cleaner
a breaker or two wouldn't be bad, also mons specifically designed to weaken ur checks like miltank or mag (yeah u get them with the Z, but just the Z)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Exeggutor-Alola's mediocre base 45 Speed, many faster Pokemon are able to deal massive amounts of damage to it before it can attack in return or set up Trick Room. This list includes Pokemon such as Stoutland, Chatot, Absol, and Zangoose, among others. i might go for slightly more relevant examples than stout and chatot but not huge

**Flying Types**: Flying-types such as Swanna, Archeops, and Charizard can hit Exeggutor-Alola very hard with their Flying-type STABs, as they are super-effective. In addition, many Flying-types resists Exeggutor-Alola's Grass-type STAB moves, which could force it into using Draco Meteor. and becoming setup fodder

1/3 but seriously just do examples

I think it's worth slashing Energy Ball on the OTR set - mentioning that it's better if you use Dragonium Z - for the fact that it gets multiple KOs you couldn't get with Giga Drain without forcing you to run Leaf Storm which is obviously good at ending your sweep, and also means in some cases you don't have to use D-Meteor, which can also end your sweep.

Energy Ball vs Giga Drain (This is all assuming you use Dragonium Z; with Life Orb I assume Giga Drain is usually better).

(In no order of effectiveness)

All the following calcs assume Stealth Rocks is active on your opponent's field.

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Palossand: 398-470 (106.4 - 125.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Palossand: 332-392 (88.7 - 104.8%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Palossand: 332-392 (88.7 - 104.8%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Mudsdale: 356-422 (88.3 - 104.7%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Mudsdale: 300-354 (74.4 - 87.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Fairy: 163-193 (49.2 - 58.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Fairy: 136-162 (41 - 48.9%) -- 76.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Silvally-Fairy Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Exeggutor-Alola: 272-324 (69 - 82.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mesprit: 151-178 (41.4 - 48.9%) -- 78.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mesprit: 126-148 (34.6 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Even if Mesprit is offensive:
252 SpA Mesprit Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Exeggutor-Alola: 192-226 (48.7 - 57.3%)
Ice Beam will still OHKO, though

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Poliwrath: 344-408 (89.8 - 106.5%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Poliwrath: 288-338 (75.1 - 88.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zangoose: 237-279 (82.5 - 97.2%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zangoose: 196-232 (68.2 - 80.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and toxic damage

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Swanna: 228-268 (78.3 - 92%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Swanna: 190-225 (65.2 - 77.3%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Aggron: 237-279 (84.3 - 99.2%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Aggron: 196-232 (69.7 - 82.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
This one's dicey because CB Head Smash OHKOs

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 56 SpD Regirock: 296-350 (81.3 - 96.1%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 56 SpD Regirock: 248-294 (68.1 - 80.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
Think Regi is actually more an argument for Drain, though, since who doesn't run max spdef?

Energy Ball + Draco Meteor KOs AV Eelektross after SR
Not sure if this is enough reason to slash it, but thought it was at least worth bringing up. There is possibly more relevant calcs, and some which may favour Giga Drain, but these were the ones that stood out to me.

  • Bring in Exeggutor-Alola whenever it has chances to switch in, as it works best breaking down opposing Pokemon for its teammates as early as possible.
Team Options
========
  • Pokemon that like having a special wallbreaker, such as Pyroar, Mr. Mime, Oricorio-Pom-Pom, and Raichu Alola, are good teammates as they can clean easier with walls being weakened.
  • Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan are good teammates as they can operate better without being threatened.
  • Pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire- and Ice-types, such as Gurdurr and Primeape are good partners as it allows Exeggutor-Alola to survive and use its STAB moves more often.
  • Slow pokemon with pivoting moves such as as Eelektross and Lanturn work as well as they can pivot into Exeggutor-Alola without it taking damage.

Other Options
=============
  • Grassium Z on the Trick Room set gives Exeggutor-Alola a very strong Grass-type attack, however, it generally has worse utility than Dragonium Z because it has more resistances.
  • Petaya Berry + Harvest can be effective to boost Exeggutor-Alola's Special Attack when it gets below its Special Attack, however, it is hard to manage as Exeggutor has to drop below a quarter of its health for it to activate and does not offer much damage output prior to it going off.
  • Similarly, a Pinch Berry such as an Iapapa Berry could be effective as it could heal Exeggutor-Alola and be harvested, but it loses the damage output provided by the other sets. yache can be added to better handle Ice-types and Water-types with Ice coverage too.
  • Synthesis can be run to offer Exeggutor some recovery, although it takes away a moveslot that could be used for a more useful move.
  • Sub Seed is an interesting set as Exeggutor-Alola is very bulky and does not have much weaknesses, however it does not take advantage of its amazing special attack and coverage.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Exeggutor-Alola's mediocre base 45 Speed, many faster Pokemon are able to deal massive amounts of damage to it before it can attack in return or set up Trick Room. This list includes Pokemon such as Absol, Mesprit, and Zangoose, among others.

**Flying Types**: Flying-types such as Swanna, Archeops, and Charizard can hit Exeggutor-Alola very hard with their Flying-type STABs, as they are super-effective. In addition, many Flying-types resists Exeggutor-Alola's Grass-type STAB moves, which could force it into using Draco Meteor or make it setup fodder. mention theat none of these pokemon wants to switch in on a Draco Meteor plus Charizard is the only Flying type you mentioned that resists Grass-Stab so add something like Togetic here.

**Ice Type Coverage**: Ice-type coverage is incredibly dangerous to Exeggutor-Alola since it is four times weak to it. Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Piloswine can easily revenge kill it with Ice Shard, even under Trick Room, while Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo can outpace it out of Trick Room and OHKO it with Ice Beam.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive Walls such as Audino, Type: Null and Probopass can take on Exeggutor-Alola despite its Special Attack due to their typings and bulk. Audino can stall it out using Wish and Protect, Type: Null can Rest or set up against it, and Probopass can take every hit it wants to dish out. Additionally, Pokemon such as AV Magmortar, AV Eelektross, and Miltank also check Exeggutor-Alola, although they are OHKO'd by a Devastating Drake. when mentioning Miltank talk about Sap Sipper. Same can also be said of Sap Sipper Drampa coming in after Specs eggy locks itself into Grass move.

**Residual Damage**: Since most Exeggutor-Alola do not run Synthesis or a recovery item, it can be easily broken down through conditions such as Toxic and Life Orb recoil. mention hazards as well since you're going that far.

[OVERVIEW]

Exeggutor-Alola shines as a strong Special Attacker paired with its impressive 125 base Special Attack, good offensive typing, and great coverage. However, its mediocre base Speed of 45 leaves it outpaced by most of the metagame. Luckily, due to its access to Trick Room, Exeggutor-Alola is a great cleaner with an amazing matchup against offensive teams as it outpaces and can KO most offensive Pokemon under Trick Room. In some matchups, however, its mediocre defensive typing leaves it struggling to get Trick Room up or function outside of it, although it does have usage outside. Additionally, Exeggutor-Alola struggles to break bulky teams with Specially Defensive walls such as Audino, but Exeggutor-Alola can also run a wall breaking Choice Specs set, though this set faces more competition from Guzzlord and Drampa.

Trick Room allows for Alolan-Exeggutor to outpace normally faster threats, allowing it to clean opposing teams late game. Draco Meteor is its strongest Dragon-type STAB move and hits most Pokemon unresisted, although it does cause Special Attack drops, limiting its ability to spam it. Giga Drain is weaker than Leaf Storm, but is more reliable and offers recovery, making it the Grass STAB of choice. The aforementioned Leaf Storm is the strongest Grass-type STAB that Exeggutor-Alola possesses but gives Exeggutor Special Attack drops, which does not mix well with Draco Meteor. Energy Ball is a mid-ground Grass-type STAB which is stronger than Giga Drain but does not recovery Exeggutor-Alola's Health, while being weaker than Leaf Storm without giving a Special Attack drop. Finally, Flamethrower is a great coverage move to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Shiftry.

Set Details
========

Frisk allows Exeggutor-Alola to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which could be effective throughout a game. Dragonium Z allows for a one-time 195 Base Power Draco Meteor which does not give Special Attack drops to Exeggutor-Alola, guaranteeing KOs on threats such as Mesprit and Magmortar and damaging other checks. Life Orb boosts all of Exeggutor-Alola's attacking moves, although it limits its sustainability as it chips away at its health. A Quiet Nature with 0 Speed IVs allows Exeggutor-Alola to outspeed most Pokemon under Trick Room, while max Special Attack EVs allow Exeggutor-Alola to hit as hard as it can, supported by a boosting nature, and Max HP EVs allow it to be as bulky as possible.

Usage Tips
========

When attempting to set up Trick Room, make sure that the Pokemon you are trying to set up on do not have the ability to KO you, such as Archeops and Piloswine. Don't waste your Z move unless you need it to net a KO or you absolutely need to hit an opposing Pokemon hard without getting a Special Attack drop(I've been doing a lot of GP i know but this sentence doesnt seem to get the point across. you use the z move when u want to break through a potential check or if you absolutely need the spatk to continue a sweep or break through another mon. currently the sentence doesnt necessarily portray how the z move is an absolute-need-only basis option, since using it incorrectly can be damning). Be wary of special attacking drops from Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm as it can allow Exeggutor-Alola to be setup fodder for opposing Pokemon. Exeggutor-Alola lacks recovery so it is important to keep it healthy, especially if it is using a Life Orb. For this reason, offensive Trick Room Exeggutor-Alola functions best as a late game cleaner under Trick Room, as it can easily pick off weakened Pokemon, rather than attempting to break down walls itself.

Team Options
========

Trick Room Exeggutor-Alola helps support slower Pokemon such as Piloswine and Golem, as they can abuse Trick Room themselves. Due to its Grass-typing, Exeggutor-Alola pairs well with Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan. On the other hand, Exeggutor-Alola appreciates Pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire- and Ice-types for it, such as Gurdurr and Primeape. Due to its access to Trick Room and offensive presense, Exeggutor-Alola is a staple on Trick Room teams, so it works well with Pokemon such as Crabominable, Ursaring, and Musharna. Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Primeape and Zangoose can help break down teams and take on checks to Exeggutor-Alola such as Miltank and Magmortar, which only die to Devastating Drake normally.

Draco Meteor is Exeggutor-Alola's strongest Dragon-type STAB move and hits most Pokemon unresisted, although it does cause Special Attack drops, limiting its ability to spam it, especially with a choice item. Similarly, Leaf Storm is its strongest Grass-type STAB and hits very hard, but gives Exeggutor-Alola Special Attack drops. Flamethrower is great coverage to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Lurantis. Giga Drain is weaker than Leaf Storm, but is more reliable as it does not drop Exeggutor-Alola's Special Attack and offers recovery. Sludge Bomb is also an option to hit Fairy-types such as Togetic and Granbull, as the former would wall it otherwise and the latter would be able to freely Play Rough against it. Sleep Powder is a risky move to be locked into, however, it can be very effective to put a threat to sleep and then take it on with other teammates.

Set Details
========

Frisk allows Exeggutor-Alola to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which can be effective throughout a game. Choice Specs allows Exeggutor-Alola to hit very hard, paired with max Special Attack investment and a Modest nature, but locks it into one move(should make some sort of comment of what kind of mons it breaks that the TR set cant). 44 Speed EVs allow it to outpace uninvested base 50s such as Regirock and Eelektross, while the rest is put into HP to allow it to be as bulky as it can be.

Usage Tips
========

To bring Exeggutor-Alola onto the field, use slow pivoting moves such as Lanturn's Volt Switch or Komala's U-turn. Additionally, you can double into it against more passive Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. Be wary of Ice-type coverage, such as Piloswine's Ice Shard, Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, and Floatzel's Ice Beam, as they can all KO it without prior damage. Since Exeggutor-Alola is using a choice item, choose moves selectively since you will be locked into them, which allows an opposing Pokemon a chance to set up against you. Bring in Exeggutor-Alola whenever it has chances to switch in, as it works best breaking down opposing Pokemon for its teammates as early and often as possible.

Team Options
========

Cleaners that appreciate having a special wallbreaker, such as Pyroar, Mr. Mime, Oricorio-Pom-Pom, and Raichu-Alola, are good teammates for Exeggutor-Alola as they can clean easier with walls being weakened. Additionally, Exegutor-Alola pairs well with Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan, as it can weaken their answers with its strong attacks. Pokemon that can break Steel-, Fire- and Ice-types, such as Gurdurr and Primeape are good partners as they allows Exeggutor-Alola to survive and use its STAB moves more often. Moreover, slow pokemon with pivoting moves such as Eelektross and Lanturn work as well as they can pivot into Exeggutor-Alola without it taking damage.

Other Options
=============

Exeggutor-Alola can run Grassium Z on the Trick Room set as it provides a very strong Grass-type attack, however, it generally has worse utility than Dragonium Z because it(it?) has more resistances. Alternatively, Petaya Berry + Harvest can be effective to boost Exeggutor-Alola's Special Attack, however, it is hard to manage as Exeggutor has to drop below a quarter of its health for it to activate and does not offer much damage output prior to it going off. Similarly, a pinch berry such as an Iapapa Berry could be effective as it could heal Exeggutor-Alola and be harvested, but it loses the damage output provided by the other sets. A Yache Berry could be used to take on Ice-type coverage better, however, due to Exeggutor-Alola's 4x weakness, it is still hit very hard by said coverage. Synthesis can be run to offer Exeggutor some recovery, although it takes away a moveslot that could be used for a more useful move(and usage can eat trick room turns). Sub Seed is an interesting set as Exeggutor-Alola is very bulky and does not have much weaknesses, however it does not take advantage of its amazing special attack and coverage. A physical set with Swords Dance, Dragon Hammer, Earthquake, and Wood Hammer has merit, although it is usually not as effective as the special varients(how so?).

Checks and Counters
===================

Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Piloswine can easily revenge kill it with Ice Shard, even under Trick Room, while Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo can outpace it out of Trick Room and OHKO it with Ice Beam.

Additionally, Pokemon such as AV Magmortar, AV Eelektross, and Miltank also check Exeggutor-Alola, although they are OHKO'd by a Devastating Drake. Miltank stands out as an answer as it has access to Sap Sipper and recovery, while Drampa with Sap Sipper is also able to switch into choice-locked Exeggutor-Alola.

**Residual Damage**: Since most Exeggutor-Alola do not run Synthesis or a recovery item, it can be easily broken down through conditions such as Toxic and Life Orb recoil, as well as entry hazards.

Energy Ball is a middle-ground Grass-type STAB move that is stronger than Giga Drain but does not restore Exeggutor-Alola's Health Alolan Exeggutor's HP while being weaker than Leaf Storm without lowering Special Attack. Flamethrower is a great coverage move to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Shiftry.

Frisk allows Alolan Exeggutor to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which could can be effective throughout a game. A Quiet Nature nature with 0 Speed IVs allows Alolan Exeggutor to outspeed most Pokemon under Trick Room while maximum Special Attack EVs allow Alolan Exeggutor to hit as hard as it can, and Max maximum HP EVs allow it to be as bulky as possible.

Usage Tips
========

When attempting to set up Trick Room, make sure that the Pokemon you are Alolan Exeggutor is trying to set up on does not have the ability to KO you it, such as Archeops and Piloswine. Don't waste Alolan Exeggutor's Z-Move unless you need it to net a KO or absolutely need to hit an opposing Pokemon hard without getting a Special Attack drop. Be wary of Special Attack drops from Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm, (AC) as they can turn Alolan Exeggutor into setup fodder for opposing Pokemon.

========

Trick Room Alolan Exeggutor helps support slower Pokemon such as Piloswine and Golem, as they can abuse take advantage of (abuse means "use in a negative way") Trick Room themselves. Due to its Grass-typing Grass typing, Alolan Exeggutor pairs well with Pokemon that struggle with Water-, Ground-, and Rock-types, such as Magmortar, Charizard, and Kangaskhan. Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Primeape and Zangoose can help break down teams and take on checks to Alolan Exeggutor such as Miltank and Magmortar, which are only KOed by Devastating Drake normally.

Moves

Draco Meteor is Alolan Exeggutor's strongest Dragon-type STAB move and hits most Pokemon for unresisted damage, although it does lower Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack, limiting its ability to spam the move, especially with a Choice item. Similarly, Leaf Storm is Alolan Exeggutor's strongest Grass-type STAB move and hits very hard but lowers Alolan Exeggutor its Special Attack. Flamethrower is great coverage to hit Steel-types such as Ferroseed and opposing Grass-types such as Lurantis. Giga Drain is weaker than Leaf Storm but is more reliable, as it does not drop Alolan Exeggutor's Special Attack and offers recovery. Sludge Bomb is an option to hit Fairy-types such as Togetic and Granbull, as the former would wall walls it otherwise and the latter would be is able to freely use Play Rough against it. Sleep Powder is a risky move to be locked into; however, it can be very effective to put a threat to sleep and then take it on with other teammates.

Frisk allows Alolan Exeggutor to scout the opposing Pokemon's item, which can be effective throughout a game. Choice Specs, paired with max maximum Special Attack investment and a Modest nature, allows Alolan Exeggutor to hit very hard but locks it into one move.

Usage Tips
========

To bring Alolan Exeggutor onto the field, use slow pivoting moves such as Lanturn's Volt Switch and Komala's U-turn. Additionally, you can double switch to get Alolan Exeggutor into the field against more passive Pokemon such as Regirock and Torterra. Be wary of Ice-type coverage, such as Piloswine's Ice Shard, Hitmonchan's Ice Punch, and Floatzel's Ice Beam, as they can all OHKO (this right?) Alolan Exeggutor without prior damage.

========

Cleaners that appreciate having a special wallbreaker, such as Pyroar, Mr. Mime, OricorioE Oricorio-E, and Alolan Raichu, are good teammates for Alolan Exeggutor, as they can clean easier with walls being weakened.

Other Options
=============

Similarly, a pinch Berry such as an Iapapa Berry could can be effective, as it could can heal Alolan Exeggutor could and can be restored with Harvest, but it loses the damage output provided by the other sets. A Yache Berry could can be used to take on Ice-type coverage better; however, due to Alolan Exeggutor's 4x weakness, it is still hit very hard by said coverage. Synthesis can be run to offer Exeggutor some recovery, although it takes away a moveslot that could be used for a more useful move and can waste a turn of Trick Room.

===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Alolan Exeggutor's mediocre base 45 Speed, many faster Pokemon like Absol, Mesprit, and Zangoose are able to deal massive amounts of damage to it before it can attack or set up Trick Room.

**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Swanna, Archeops, Togetic, and Charizard can hit Alolan Exeggutor very hard with their Flying-type STAB moves, as they are super effective (this is basic info that doesn't need to be included). In addition, many Flying-types resist Alolan Exeggutor's Grass-type STAB moves, which could can force it into using Draco Meteor or make it setup fodder. Apart from Togetic, however, none of them are able to switch into a Dragon-type move.

**Ice-type Coverage**: Ice-type coverage is incredibly dangerous to Alolan Exeggutor, (AC) since it is 4x weak to the type is KOed by any Ice-type attack (same thing as last time, feel free to change this or just remove). Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Piloswine can easily revenge kill it with Ice Shard, even under Trick Room, while Pokemon such as Floatzel and Ludicolo can outpace it out of Trick Room and OHKO it with Ice Beam.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially defensive walls such as Audino, Type: Null, and Probopass can take on Exeggutor-Alola Alolan Exeggutor despite its Special Attack (what about its special attack?) due to their types typings and bulk. Audino can stall it out using Wish and Protect, Type: Null can Rest or set up against it, and Probopass can take every hit it wants to dish out. Additionally, Pokemon such as Assault Vest Magmortar, Assault Vest Eelektross, and Miltank also check Alolan Exeggutor, although they are OHKOed by a Devastating Drake. Miltank stands out as an answer, as it has access to Sap Sipper and recovery, while Drampa with Sap Sipper is also able to switch into Choice-locked Alolan Exeggutor.

**Residual Damage**: Since most Alolan Exeggutor does not usually run Synthesis or a recovery item, it can be easily broken down through conditions such as Toxic and Life Orb recoil, as well as entry hazards.
