[Overview]
Although Flabebe is outclassed in many ways by other Fairy-types, such as Spritzee and Snubbull, it has a niche in its access to Synthesis for instant recovery. This means that Flabebe does not need to run Rest and Sleep Talk or Wish and Protect, granting it another moveslot to use for coverage. Flabebe has an excellent typing for taking on Fighting-types, but its lackluster physical bulk and useless ability hold it back. Flabebe also has a weak offensive presence and often requires Calm Mind boosts to do significant damage.

Moves
========
With Calm Mind, Flabebe can set up and increase its Special Attack and Special Defense to high levels. Synthesis is vital, as it provides one-turn recovery, which is one of Flabebe's only niches over other Fairy-types; however, be aware that Synthesis is dependent on weather and has low PP. Moonblast is a solid STAB attack that can deal heavy damage to Fighting- and Dark-types. Psychic is a powerful coverage option to hit many Poison-types such as Gastly and Croagunk hard, while Hidden Power Fire heavily damages Steel- and Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Pawniard, and Foongus. Alternatively, Hidden Power Ground can be used to hit Poison-, Steel-, Fire-, and Electric-types super effectively; it notably OHKOes or heavily damages Magnemite, Skrelp, and Ponyta.
Set Details
========
Eviolite is used to increase Flabebe's bulk so that it can set up Calm Mind as consistently as possible. A Bold nature is generally preferred, though a Modest one can boost Flabebe's Special Attack enough to guarantee some OHKOs, such as on Trubbish with a +1 Psychic. The EVs and nature make Flabebe as bulky as possible while still allowing it to OHKO Eviolite-lacking Foongus after Stealth Rock damage when boosted. Flabebe hits 11 Speed with 20 Speed EVs, which enables it to outspeed Timburr, Skrelp, and slow variants of Croagunk.
Usage Tips
========
Beware of weather conditions such as rain and sandstorm, as they halve Flabebe's healing from Synthesis. Even though Flabebe can be used to counter Fighting-types, sweeping becomes much more difficult if they Knock Off its Eviolite. Try to weaken or KO Flabebe's checks and counters before setting up with Calm Mind.
Team Options
========
Fire-types such as Vulpix and Ponyta can deal with Steel-types such as Pawniard.; Vulpix also boosts Flabebe's healing from Synthesis with its ability Drought. Ground-types like Drilbur and Diglett threaten Steel-, Poison-, and Ground-types that might impede Flabebe from sweeping. Flabebe can take on Fighting-types and thus allow Normal-types such as Porygon to flourish. Pokemon that can switch into Knock Off, such as Trubbish, Shellos, and Mienfoo, can help Flabebe retain its bulk and allow it to sweep more easily. Fighting-types such as the aforementioned Mienfoo can also check Pawniard and weaken Poison-types like Foongus with Knock Off.

Other Options
=============
Flabebe can act as a cleric with Aromatherapy, but such a set is outclassed by Spritzee. Hidden Power Fighting can be used to KO Pawniard if using a Modest nature. Flabebe can fit on sun teams with a set consisting of Sunny Day, Solar Beam, and Synthesis, which is boosted by the sun, but it lacks the offensive presence necessary to be effective on them.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Steel-types**: The very common Pawniard outspeeds Flabebe and OHKOes it with its super effective Steel-type attacks. Sturdy Magnemite can KO it with Flash Cannon and avoids the KO from Hidden Power Ground.
**Poison-types**: Skrelp resists Moonblast and KOes Flabebe with its Adaptability-boosted Poison-type STAB moves. Foongus takes little damage from Hidden Power Ground, while Croagunk threatens it with Sludge Bomb or Gunk Shot.
**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Ponyta, Growlithe, and Vulpix (though it sets sun and boosts Synthesis) resist Moonblast and can easily switch into it.
**Strong Physical Attackers**: Strong physical attackers, particularly setup sweepers such as Tirtouga and Shellder, can exploit Flabebe's mediocre Defense and deal heavy damage to it.
**Knock Off Users**: Without Eviolite, Flabebe struggles to set up and is much more easily dealt with.
**Rain, Hail, and Sand Setters**: Snover and Hippopotas can set hail and sand, respectively, and lower Flabebe's healing from Synthesis.
