Gen VII Tournament Round 1: Group Lunala - JJayyfeather vs. Zhengtann

Battle Rules
3v3 Singles
ASB Arena
Strict 72h Disqualification. One warning per player. After the warning is used (any tag after DQ interval is passed will be counted as warning), the Player has one hour to post (with full orders/pokemon, just saying "orders coming watch this space" doesn't suffice) after DQ is called to rescind it. If one hour passes, the player is DQ'd regardless of the ref posting or not. User calling DQ must tag DQ'd player. Referees please tag the combatants when you have finished your reffing. Players, if you know you're going to be away you better post a Leave of Absence BEFORE you leave, or give a very good reason in case of an emergency.

Team ZhengTann:
Yamarashi (Alolan-Golem) (M)
076-a.png

Threat Category III. Thought to be terminated, Yamarashi makes a return after ingesting magnetic rocks and learning to throw its brethren with them.

Nature: Sassy (+1 Special Defense, -15% Speed, -10% Evasion)

Type:
Rock type: Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Electric type: Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Magnet Pull
Type: Trigger
Steel-types cannot switch out in a Switch=OK battle while Yamarashi is on the field without the use of Baton Pass, U-turn, or Volt Switch. In addition, Yamarashi can generate a electro-magnetic field that can attract or repulse Steel-type Pokemon. Only the most recent Magnet Pull command on a target will affect them.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Attract target) - 5 En - The target's contact will fail against targets other than the user of Magnet Pull (Attract) for three (3) actions.
Command: Activate Magnet Pull (Repulse target) - 5 En - The target's contact attacks will fail against the user of Magnet Pull (Repulse) for three (3) actions.

Ability 2: Sturdy
Type: Passive
Yamarashi's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.

Ability 3: Galvanize (unlocked)
Type: Toggle
By default, Yamarashi's Normal-type moves are Electric-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, Yamarashi's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2) instead. Only Normal-typed moves changed by Galvanize receive this boost. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

lore if claimed after tournament

Nature: Quiet (+1 SpAtk, -15% Speed, -10% Accuracy)

Type:
Poison type: Poison STAB; immunity to Poison/Toxic status. Absorb Toxic Spikes on switch-in unless Flying-typed or using the ability Levitate. -- Accuracy when using Toxic, Poison Gas, or Poison Powder, hitting even during Dig, Fly, etc. Ignore Fog's accuracy reduction. Store Command.

Dark type: Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks. Immune to all status moves used by a Pokemon with the Prankster ability (as well as all moves summoned by a Prankster-boosted non-damaging move).

Abilities:
Ability 1: Poison Touch
Type: Toggle
By default, this Pokemon's body is covered with a film of poison. Whenever it hits an opponent with a contact attack, that opponent has a 30% chance of being Poisoned. When toggled, this Pokemon's natural toxins are more potent. As a result, all of this Pokemon's attacks that inflict regular poison will inflict Toxic poison instead (with the same chance of effect).

Ability 2: Gluttony
Type: Passive
This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat). It also regains three (3) HP per action when holding Leftovers.

Ability 3: Power of Alchemy
Type: Trigger
When this Pokemon is sent out, it can expend six (6) EN to use its molecular composition to absorb an ability of a fainted ally, replacing this ability with the chosen 1 for six (6) actions. If in a multiple battle an ally faints while this Pokemon is active, at the start of the next round: it can expend six (6) EN to use its molecular composition to absorb one ability of the fainted ally, replacing this ability with the chosen for 6 actions.

lore if claimed after tour.

Nature: Jolly (+15% Speed, +5% Accuracy, -1 Special Attack)

Type:
Normal type: Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.

Flying type: Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a si e class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Abilities:
Ability 1: Keen Eye
Type: Passive
This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its vision also enables it to see through any attempts by an opponent to increase their own evasion.

Ability 2: Skill Link
Type: Passive
This Pokemon's skillful aim makes its multi-hit moves always hit 5 times. The Energy Cost of multi-hit attacks is increased by three (3).

Ability 2: Sheer Force (unlocked)
Type: Toggle
By default this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect. When toggled, no effect.

This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Marowak-A [M] [-----]
Nature: Adamant
Type: Fire/Ghost

[Abilities]
Cursed Body (Passive)
When this Pokemon is struck by an opponent's attack, there is a 30% chance that the attack will be disabled for six (6) actions. Only one of the opponent's attacks can be disabled at a time due to Cursed Body. A Pokemon with an attack disabled by Cursed Body cannot have another one disabled by Disable, and vice versa.

Lightningrod (Passive)
These Pokemon naturally attract electricity to themselves and away from partners in double battles. When struck with an Electric-type attack, they transfer the energy into their body, using it to increase their Special Attack (and adjust the natural stage) by one (1) stage, unless the user has a type immunity to Electric-type attacks.

Rock Head (Passive) [Hidden]
This Pokemon's hard body prevents it from taking recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge, Flare Blitz, and Head Smash. This does not prevent recoil damage from Struggle.

I just took leave from Bhante for some quiet time - only to bump into none other than the Saint-Who-Equals-the-Heavens, Sun Wukong himself. Until now I still don't know why he wanted me to tag along with him into this festive tournament, nor why did I agree to partner with him.

Right now I'm standing in front of a rising star Gym Leader who has a, ahem, fetish, posturing about and saying good luck - oh crap, I might've forgot to reply to him. Ah well, damage done.

Now what do I do with 3 random Pokemons placed in my belt and flutters in my stomac-

Alolan Sky Marshal (Toucannon w/ Focus Band), taking off with the lead.

Rock Blast > Drill Peck > Smack Down
IF Marshal-Toucannon has no items equipped AND Marowak-A still has an item equipped, THEN replace that action with Thief instead.
IF Marowak-A would use Bide A1, THEN replace A2 with Fly (suspend) and A3 with Fly (hit) instead.
IF Marowaj-A would use Counter, THEN replace the first instance with Hidden power Ground, and subsequent instances with Work Up instead.

Let's get this exciting battle between two gym leaders (these guys are both gym leaders? I guess if I'm one anyone can be...) started! ZhengTann starts off with the coolest mon in this tournament in Toucannon, while Jayy leads with meta-anti-meta-overrated-underrated-so-popular-it's-actually-kinda-uncommon Marowak-A. For the most part, the first round is setup. ZT takes a slight HP lead while Jayy sets up Stealth Rock and knocks off Toucannon's Focus Band, while ZT employs the strategy of "do as little damage as possible even though you could be spamming 15 BAP Rock Blast" (in all fairness, Cursed Body is a pretty busted ability). Let's see where our battlers take this match next.

As our battle continues, Jayy sends out our favorite nukebug Vikavolt to try to retake the momentum. The electric bug then proceeds to go full Rainman (RIP) and nuke the crap out of Toucannon. Zt tries to fight back as best he can with Rock Blast, but Vikavolt's immense power still takes huge chunks out of Toucannon. Zt does manage to get a U-Turn off though, so maybe he can start bringing it back now.

In other news, Vikavolt is really good. Like "outdamages Golem-A, which I actually brought to this very tournament as my Vikavolt counter" good. Although Jayy's Mud-Slap shenanigans don't exactly bear fruit, his clever Mud Shot combo brings Golem-A to its knees. This round makes me wonder what would happen if someone brought a Vikavolt to my gym. Hmm.

Oh I should make this known here since it may matter.

Golem-A's -1 Spe is not marked. ZhengTann does that affect your orders at all? I ordered while fully aware of the speed change.

Hmm.

Golem-A took 12 damage from Stealth Rock!

Action 1

Golem-A used Endure!
Golem-A braced itself!
-15 EN

Vikavolt used Toxic!
Hit (9000): 2336=YES
Golem-A was badly poisoned!
-7 EN

Golem-A took 1 poison damage!

Action 2

Vikavolt used Mud-Slap!
Crit (625): 742=NO
Damage: (4+2+5)*2.25=24.75~20
Golem-A Endured the hit!
-4 EN
Golem-A -1 Accuracy (-1>-2)

Golem-A used Stealth Rock!
Pointed stones were set up around Jayy's team!
-11 EN

Golem-A took 1 poison damage!
Golem-A fainted!

I'm supposed to order first to huh. Also Vikavolt is no longer Sluggish.

"The harder they are to crack, all the harder they will fall."
Alolan Sky Marshal (Toucannon): Peck > Smack Down > Peck
IF Vikavolt is ordered to use Endure, THEN replace that action with Toxic instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Vikavolt is under the effects of Protective/Evasive moves, THEN replace the first instance with Roost and the second with Chill instead, pushing remaining queue back.
IF Vikavolt has more than 10 HP, THEN replace that action with Rock Blast instead, pushing remaining queue back.

And Jayy's mighty Vikavolt finally falls, but not after blowing a huge hole in Zt's team. Let's see if Zt can do anything to dig out of this hole. Also Stealth Rock is really freakin' good in matchup control battles.
