[OVERVIEW]
Glalie's niche in PU lies in its access to both Spikes and Taunt, the former being beneficial due to the lack of reliable entry hazard removers in the PU metagame and the latter allowing it to take on Defoggers such as Vullaby and prevent them from removing its Spikes. Taunt also allows Glalie to prevent leads such as Golem from setting up entry hazards, and its high Speed allows it to outspeed most spinners and Stealth Rock setters. However, Glalie faces slight competition as a Spikes suicide lead from Venipede and Quilladin; the former has Speed Boost and Endeavor, and the latter is bulkier. Glalie is also limited to only one layer of Spikes due to its poor bulk. Glalie is one dimensional due to its average at best stats along with a poor defensive typing, and it is outclassed by other offensive Ice-types such as Regice if it attempts to run an offensive set.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Spikes provides chip damage and allows Glalie to help wear down the opposing team and make it easier to deal with. Taunt prevents Defoggers such as Vullaby and Vibrava from removing its Spikes and prevents leads such as Dwebble and Golem from setting up entry hazards. Explosion prevents Rapid Spin from Pokemon such as Armaldo and allows a teammate to get in safely. Freeze-Dry mainly hits Defoggers such as Vibrava and Swanna if Glalie has finished setting up Spikes.

Set Details
========

This EV spread allows Glalie to outspeed as much as possible and deal as much damage as possible with Explosion. A Naive nature is chosen to preserve the power of both Freeze-Dry and Explosion. A Focus Sash allows Glalie to set up at least one layer of Spikes. Inner Focus allows Glalie to set up a layer of Spikes on Purugly.

Usage Tips
========

Most of the time, Glalie should be used as a lead so its Focus Sash can stay intact and because Spikes are more effective when set up early in the match. However, be wary of faster Taunt users such as Electrode and Misdreavus and multi-hit move users such as Golem. Only use Taunt if you predict that the opponent will attempt to set up entry hazards or sweep. Taunt should also be used to prevent Defoggers from removing Glalie's Spikes. Glalie should prioritize setting up Spikes over using Freeze-Dry, as Spikes are more beneficial and Freeze-Dry is weak most of the time. However, Freeze-Dry could be used to hit a faster Defog user such as Swanna switching in. Use Explosion if you predict a spinner such as Armaldo attempting to remove your team's Spikes.

Team Options
========

Glalie fits on offensive teams because they can deal with spinners and Defoggers and appreciate the extra chip damage. VoltTurn teams especially appreciate Spikes support, as they can help force switches. Spinblockers such as Misdreavus can help deter spinners such as Armaldo. Stealth Rock from the likes of offensive Relicanth and Golem helps to deal further chip damage. Wallbreakers such as Stoutland, Chatot, and Floatzel appreciate Spikes support so that they can break through their threats more easily. Setup sweepers and late-game cleaners, such as Shell Smash Gorebyss, Substitute + Swords Dance Bouffalant, and Zebstrika, appreciate Spikes damage to clean up late-game. Defiant users such as Purugly and Pawniard help with deterring Defog users if Glalie has fainted.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Ice Shard could be used to pick off weakened Pokemon, but Glalie lacks the moveslot for it. Ice Beam is a slightly stronger STAB move, but Freeze-Dry notably allows Glalie to hit Swanna for more damage. Super Fang cripples bulky Pokemon such as Probopass and Metang that would otherwise wall it, though Glalie also lacks the moveslot for it. Maximum Special Attack investment can let Glalie deal more damage to Vullaby, but it is not worth it, as you would rather Taunt it and set up Spikes. An offensive Glalie set could be run, but there's no reason to use it over Regice, which has more power, better coverage, and Rock Polish to boost its Speed.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users such as Electrode and Misdreavus are able to outspeed Glalie and prevent it from setting up Spikes; the latter is also immune to Explosion.

**Multi-hit Move Users**: Pokemon such as Armaldo and Golem can break through Glalie's Focus Sash thanks to Rock Blast; the former can also remove Spikes with Rapid Spin. However, both are unable to set up Stealth Rock on Glalie due to Taunt.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Zebstrika and Mr. Mime limit Glalie to one layer of Spikes and also prevent it from using Explosion.

**Priority Users**: Priority users such as Monferno and Machoke are able to prevent Glalie from using Explosion and limit it to one layer of Spikes.

**Steel-types**: Although Taunt makes them unable to set up Stealth Rock, Steel-types such as Metang and Probopass resist both Freeze-Dry and Explosion, and they can deal super effective damage in return.

Wouldn't max attack be better on this than spa? I haven't used this much this meta but from what I have seen from the xy meta and from other people, explosion is been used more, as usually when you have the opportunity to freeze dry you would rather set up spikes

Take Azelfie

More flags more fun
it would be best if you calced for Freeze-dry damage so you have enough to OHKO Pelipper or any other targets but other than that is should be max attack like Anty said

Uninvested Glalie OHKOs phys def but even max special attack only has a 68.8% chance to OHKO SpDef, I'm with Anty in running max attack so the set's fine

The overview is really focused on Venipede, I wouldnt spend so much time on it. Mention how both it and Quilladin give Glalie competition as Spikes leads but it seems like you talk about it too much in an analysis for another poke
Taunt is a massive niche, arguably moreso than beating Defoggers (Venipede can pressure them a lot, especially if it runs infestation over protect) and needs an overview mention
Maximizing damage input does not help outspeed as much as possible, it's for doing more with explosion
The explanation of when to use taunt is confusing, it says it's going to stop a sweep and should always be used vs defoggers when I think you mean prevent setting up to sweep and only stops the defoggers that glalie can't OHKO with freeze dry
Spikes is great for VoltTurn because you take extra extra chip
Specify why wallbreakers benefit from spikes
Max special attack in OO, only relevant calc I can think of is it gets the 2hko on vullaby, although you can just spike then taunt it anyway
Add a section for faster pokemon to c&c, same reason as priority users basically. Anything faster is 2hkoing so it cant spike twice. C&C also looks really short, it's pretty basic but you could add a little to it.

mention that glalie is effective mostly because it outspeeds most rapid spinners / defoggers / sr setters
replace mention of pelipper
explain why it is limited to one layer on spikes

replace pelipper mentions

Usage Tips
========
it is used as a lead also because spikes will be more effective if set up earlier in the game
mention freeze dry / explosion can be used preemptively when predicting a faster defog user such as swanna to come in

Team Options
========
explain why it works in offensive teams
no, stunfisk isn't good with glalie, too passive and prone to get hazards removed. you should mention relicanth only when running an offensive set, and other stuff such as golem that isnt overly passive.
mention why setup sweepers and lategame cleaners are nice w glalie

Simisear doesn't run Taunt, so replace it with Misdreavus as it can Taunt Glalie and is immune to Explosion.
