I have signed Ubers up to participate in an "Other Tier" series with Doubles and Little Cup, starting next month. The UU, RU, and NU tiers are currently doing a series right now, and it has been very successful. The "Other Tier" series consists of two live tournaments per weekend, very similar to smogtours. If you perform consistently well in all three tiers, you have a chance to make the playoffs (consisting of either 8 or 16 players, we still have to iron out the details). Even if you don't have any interest in winning the whole tournament, live tournaments give you an opportunity to play Ubers against a high level of competition and provide an opportunity for you to make a name for yourself.
In order to make this work, Ubers needs 4 hosts for July 11th / 12th and August 1st / 2nd. I will assign some backup hosts in case the scheduled host cannot make their date, so don't worry if you are unsure if you can make the dates listed below. All tournaments will take place during American afternoons, and they should not take more than 75-90 minutes to complete unless you get 48 or more people to sign up. When you sign up, please list the dates you are available to host! Signups will probably close tonight because we don't need many people to host. Hosts cannot play in their own tournament, but are free to play any other day.
If you are not chosen to host, don't worry about it! It just means the people chosen are better than you.
