========

- Sucker Punch provides priority, and causes mind-games against the aforementioned Pokemon
- Fire Blast is a reliable STAB attack that 2HKOs Golbat after SR and Gligar, among others
- Crunch is a reliable move to hit targets like Slowking and Bronzong, preventing all mind games on the user's part
- Dark Pulse is another reliable STAB attack, but hits slightly less hard with a flinch chance
Set Details
========
- 220 Attack EVs let Houndoom OHKO Meloetta and Delphox with Sucker Punch after SR; it only needs a little chip damage to do the same to Bronzong and Slowking, and can also 2HKO Choice Specs Dragalge very consistently
- 36 Special Attack EVs let Houndoom 2HKO physically defensive Golbat with Fire Blast after SR, and straight up 2HKO physically defensive Gligar 98% of the time
- 252 Speed EVs with a Hasty Nature let it outspeed neutral base 100s, like Glalie
- Flash Fire lets it better check Fire-types like Moltres, powering up its own Fire Blast
- Life Orb is needed to give its moves more power and help it effectively Pursuit-trap; it cannot run Choice Band since this set uses Special moves
Usage Tips
========
- Use Trapper Houndoom with Pokemon that can U-turn out of trappable counters into it, such as Meloetta and Mega Pidgeot
- This set works best on balanced or hyper offensive teams, due to its ability to effectively eliminate checks to many offensive Pokemon
- Try not to give any hazard removers a free switch-in, as this hampers the effectiveness of offense as a whole
- Don't be afraid to sack it once it has trapped something, leaving a teammate open to sweep; it doesn't need to last the whole match!
Team Options
========
- As mentioned above, Scarf Meloetta and Mega Pidgeot are good partners for this Houndoom set; the both have counters that are easily trapped by this set
- Make sure any team with this set has hazards; they accumulate chip damage that helps Houndoom successfully KO bulkier Pokemon such as Slowking and Bronzong
- Checks to powerful priority users, such as Fletchinder and Hitmonlee, are appreciated; those Pokemon easily come in and KO Houndoom with their respective priority attacks
