In-Game starter advice?

Im torn between Delphox and Greninja. I love the look of both and I wont be doing much competitive. But i feel a starter should be solid and Greninja seems too fragile to fall back on. At the same time Delphox has so many common weaknesses. Then theres the whole Blaziken to consider...

So im asking which one, for in game fun, would you pick?
 
Well, if you put into play the fact that the Torchic event is still going on, if you are going for team balance pick Greninja, then your Bulbasaur will cover that weakness.

Lets say the event is not going on, for sake of conversation, which would you choose? Plus we dont know if theres going to be a great water pokemon event coming after Blazikens.

Well, seeing as how all of the starters are kind of easy to come by as well, I would go with the one I think will do better.

I refuse to spoil the game for myself, as I am getting it and a 3DS during the holidays. But look ahead and see what Gym challenges you will face. I know that I am going for Froakie, cause in my opinion Greninja is the best out of the three for any competitive value. Yet, like you said, you wont be doing much of that so its less important to you. Greninja is still a powerhouse, and the fact that it can be any type as it levels up allows you to take down certain type specific gyms pretty easily.

Very true, assuming somebody will give you a Protean Frokie for practicly free ahah.

Doesn't Froakie come with Protean? Besides that by now people have been breeding and exchanging the starters like crazy, just find any trading community and you can get them all. I hear wonder trade can get you them pretty easily too.

No he starts with lame ol Torrent like the traditional water starters. Most ppl iv seen want a good trade for their Protean ones. Otherwise you have to beat the Elite 4 before you can have a small chance of catching one in the Friend area.
 
If you're thinking about using them ingame then this is the thread where this should be posted. If you're wondering about the competitive merits of each then Here is probably the best place to post it. Alternatively read topic posts in here (If you're atter competitive)
