[OVERVIEW]
Klink's access to Shift Gear, which raises Speed by 2 stages and Attack by 1 stage, and Gear Grind, which gives Klink a way to break through Sturdy and Focus Sash and deal good damage, allows it to function as a good late-game sweeper. Its nice bulk backed up by a Steel typing allows it to resist Stealth Rock and nine other types as well as take a lot of attacks, making it easy to set up Shift Gear. However, Klink has a terrible movepool that leaves it walled by many common Pokemon such as Pawniard, Magnemite, and Mudbray. It has common weaknesses in Fighting, Fire, and Ground. In addition, it faces severe competition with other sweepers such as Scraggy, Corphish, and Vullaby and has trouble finding a niche in teams. It’s slow before a Shift Gear boost, leaving it easily hit by Taunt. Even after a Shift Gear, Klink’s subpar Attack doesn't make it particularly powerful, meaning that multiple boosts are required to significantly damage teams.

Moves
========
Shift Gear doubles Klink's Speed and raises Attack by 1 stage so that it can start a sweep. Gear Grind is Klink's strongest STAB attack, hits Fairy-, Rock-, and Ice-type Pokemon super effectively, and at +1 OHKOes Spritzee, Cottonee, and Eviolite Snubbull. It's also a two-hit attack, so it can break through Sturdy, Focus Sash, and Substitute users, OHKOing Abra as well as Onix and Dwebble if they've already consumed their Berry Juice. Wild Charge is used to hit Water- and Flying-type Pokemon such as Staryu, Vullaby, and Mareanie super effectively and hit Steel-types the hardest, as they resist both Gear Grind and Return. Return is Klink's best way to hit Pokemon that resist Gear Grind but aren't weak to Wild Charge, such as Chinchou, Larvesta, and Ponyta.

Set Details
========
116 Speed EVs are used for Klink to hit 22 Speed after a Shift Gear boost, outspeeding any Pokemon that doesn't have a Choice Scarf or Speed boost. 236 Attack EVs and an Adamant nature maximize Klink's Attack as well as guarantee an OHKO on Spritzee with Gear Grind at +1. The remaining EVs are put into Defense and Special Defense to reach stat numbers that maximize Klink's Eviolite-boosted bulk, making it easier for Klink to set up. Lastly, Clear Body prevents any stat drops from the likes of Sticky Web and Snubbull's Intimidate.

Usage Tips
========
Klink should only start setting up Shift Gear when its counters are weakened or KOed. Knock Off support from teammates removes Eviolite from many Pokemon, which makes it a lot easier for Klink to start sweeping. Beware of setting up against Cottonee, as it can Encore Klink into Shift Gear, as well as Foongus, since it carries Spore. Klink can set up on defensive Pokemon or Pokemon that can't do much damage to it such as Spritzee and Snover.

Team Options
========
Klink appreciates entry hazard support from Dwebble or Ferroseed so that it nets KOs more easily, such as getting the OHKO on non-Eviolite Mienfoo at +1. Knock Off support from Timburr, Pawniard, and Mienfoo removes Eviolites, giving Klink an easier time sweeping. Pumpkaboo-XL, Spritzee, and Vullaby can switch in on the Fighting-types that give Klink some trouble. Grass- and Flying-types such as Cottonee, Snivy, and Rufflet can switch in on Ground-types and KO them. Water- and Rock-types like Staryu, Onix, Tirtouga, and Slowpoke counter Fire-types that threaten Klink, but Onix and Tirtouga have to be wary of Will-O-Wisp. Dewpider resists all three of Klink's weaknesses, while Klink can take care of the Flying- and Rock-type Pokemon Dewpider is weak to. Memento users like Cottonee and Diglett can allow Klink to set up a lot more easily. Diglett makes for an especially good partner because it can trap a lot of Pokemon that Klink has a hard time with, like Pawniard, Magnemite, Chinchou, and Ponyta.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Rock Smash allows Klink to better hit Steel-types, but it's very weak unless boosted several times. If Rock Smash is being used, Fightinium Z can be held to deal a ton of damage to Munchlax and Ferroseed; however, it takes up a Z-Move slot, and the lack of bulk from Eviolite will make it harder to set up Shift Gear. Thunder Wave can be used to cripple opposing threats, but this doesn't fit well on a setup sweeper like Klink. Magnet Rise gives Klink an immunity to Ground-type attacks for five turns, but it loses out on coverage. Volt Switch could be run to gain momentum for your team, but it's weak because of Klink's lower Special Attack and removes any Shift Gear boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Ponyta and Larvesta resist Gear Grind and can OHKO with Flare Blitz or weaken Klink by burning with Will-O-Wisp.

**Fighting-types**: Timburr, Scraggy, and Croagunk are bulky enough to take a +1 Gear Grind and can KO Klink using Drain Punch, recovering HP at the same time.

**Ground-types**: Drilbur and Diglett have a good chance of OHKOing Klink but cannot switch in on anything but Wild Charge. Hippopotas doesn't take much damage from Klink's attacks and can set up Stealth Rock or KO with Earthquake. Mudbray can gain two Stamina boosts from Gear Grind and hit back with an Earthquake.

**Steel-types**: Pawniard and Magnemite do not take much damage from any of Klink's attacks and can retaliate with their respective STAB attacks. Ferroseed walls all of Klink's attacks and can set up entry hazards on it.

**Physically Bulky Pokemon**: Munchlax, defensive Chinchou, and Pumpkaboo-XL don't take much damage from any of Klink's attacks; Pumpkaboo-XL and Chinchou can burn Klink with Will-O-Wisp or Scald, while Munchlax can phaze it with Whirlwind. Alternatively, they can KO Klink with their coverage moves.

[OVERVIEW]
  • I think it's worth mentioning Klink's bad Speed stat
  • Klink's Attack is not that bad but not that good either, so mention its ok Attack

[SET]

this is fine

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
=====
  • Give Pokemon examples to what Gear Grind hits well, such as mons that are weak to Steel like Spritzee, and Sturdy/Sash/Substitute users such as Onix
  • Mention that Return is Klink's best bet against Chinchou since it resists Gear Grind and can switch into Wild Charge
  • Mention in the Thunder Wave sentence that if Klink decides to run Twave, it doesn't have any moves to reliably go against Chinchou

Set Details
========
Might want to mention what Klink can outspeed with those Speed EVs

Usage Tips
========
good.

Team Options
=========
  • You can mention Ghost-types that can switch into expected Fighting-type moves; Frillish and Pumpkaboo-XL can switch into Fighting-type moves and can most likely deal with them, and can also take care of Ground-types, and Frillish can take Fire-types, while Klink takes Ice-types for Pumpkaboo-XL.
  • Mention Fighting-type checks such as Psychic- and Flying-type Pokemon because Pokemon like Mienfoo can be a pain.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
========
Klink's SpA isn't that lower than its Attack, so maybe consider a special set with Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt although it doesn't break sturdy but is pretty powerful, also mention to change the Atk EVs to SpA, and the nature to Modest if you are going to implement this.

Checks and Counters
==============
  • Ponyta should be careful of Thunder Wave
  • Why is Anorith even mentioned in the Steel-type section? Also Steel-types aren't worthy of being mentioned here because they take significant damage here; the only viable mon that can take all of Klink's moves in Ferroseed but it can really do anything to Klink so it's a stalemate. I think that you should just change this to** Pawniard** because Pawniard can actually do significant damage to Klink with Knock Off and the occasional Brick Break.

Good job on this :toast:

When you're writing two analyses sometimes you mix them up. Thanks for all the changes, I implemented them all.

Overview
* Imo, you should elaborate a little more on what Gear Grind does for Klink (lets it break through sturdy and sash pokemon).
* I think you should reword the 'has trouble getting OHKOs' section. Instead say something along the lines of 'Klink still isn't very powerful after a boost due to its average attack stat.'
* Say that its also weak to Fire and Ground types, since they're also fairly common attack types in the meta.

Set
Good stuff

Moves
* Give examples of Pokemon that are hit by Gear Grind super effectively, like Spritzee and Amaura. When giving these examples, be sure to note whether Klink is able to OHKO or 2HKO said mon with Gear Grind.
* Give examples of mons hit by Wild Charge as well. Make sure to include how much damage the examples you use are taking.
* Examples of mons that you can use Twave against is worth mentioning.

Set Details
* I don't think you need to say that Klink outspeeds 'many' pokemon after a shift gear boost, since it outspeeds the entire unboosted metagame. Just mention that it outpaces everything without a scarf or speed boost.
* What hits do Klink's Defensive EVs allow it to take? Give some examples of relevant powerful hits it tanks.
* Plus and Minus don't need to be mentioned at all.

Usage tips
* Make your first line more specific. Klink should only be switching in on RESISTED hits.
* Replace 'crippled' with weakened, as the former word is a little vague.
* I personally don't think you should mention Abra as a poke Klink can set up on. Hidden Power Fighting does quite a bit of damage to Klink and it doesn't want Eviolite knocked off. Snivy's another bad example, it carries HP Fire. Instead, rephrase the line about set up and say that Klink can set up on defensive pokes and things that can't damage it much, then give examples.
* What are you getting at with the 'using shift gear twice' line? I can't tell if you're saying using Shift Gear twice is a good or bad thing. Regardless, I think that you should say using the move twice is a little risky given that Klink will have to take some powerful hits, but can pay off given the boost in power.
* Add that Twave can be used when predicting switches, since almost nothing that tries switching in will appreciate Paralysis.
* Guts Timburr is everywhere, and really threatens Klink. Mention that you should be wary of using Twave when Timburr's on the opponent's team.

Team Options
* I don't think you need to mention specific types of pokemon when they're all for the purpose of taking care of Fighting types. Put Flying, Psychic and Ghost types all into one point by saying something like "Fighting type checks such as Doduo, Spritzee, Pumpkaboo and Abra can either switch into or KO the tier's fighting types that Klink hates dealing with."
* Add Switch-ins to ground type attacks
* Sticky Web support from either Spinarak or Surskit is useful for outspeeding Choice Scarf users like Drilbur and Rufflet that can otherwise revenge kill boosted Klink.
* Add Fire-type checks rather than just Water types. Plenty of pokemon without the water type can take care of fire types, like Onix and Ponyta.

Other Options
* Reword your Rock Smash line. I don't even think it results in 2HKOs for Pawniard. You're better off just saying that the move is weak and requires several boosts to actually deal sufficient damage.
* Klink CAN run a special set, but really shouldn't. Mention why (the reason being its poor special attack and lack of a boosting option)
* Reword the Volt Switch line. Aren't all Klinks physical anyway?
* Magic Coat has an obvious drawback in costing Klink coverage or Twave. Mention that.

Checks and Counters
* Nothing wrong here bar the electric type section. Why would they use Volt Switch when they can just wear Klink down with their own stabs?
* Add physically bulky. Munchlax and Pumpkaboo-Super are good examples of mons that don't take much from any of Klink's attacks. Both can retaliate with either status, in Munchlax's case whirlwind, or powerful STAB or coverage attacks.

Implement all of these and give yourself 1/3
Good work

yo i think fightium z or w/e its called should be at least an option so you can actually do damage to like ferroseed -
idk if its rly worth but give it OO at least lel

Overview:
- Mention that it has bad coverage specifically when talking about what walls it
- It has competition from a ton of sweepers and struggles to find a niche on teams

Set:
- Remove Thunder Wave, that seems very out of place for a setup sweeper and not particularly useful for team support

Moves:
- Specify Eviolite Snubbull because Gear Grind just barely misses out on the OHKO on Berry Juice Snubbull
- Mention hitting Fire-types (Ponyta is the best example if you want to give one) when you talk about Return
- Remove TWave mention

Set Details:
- Just mention the extra EVs are used to increase its bulk. Not everyone knows what an eviolite number is and the spdef stat already hit an evio number before EVs.

Usage Tips:
- A setup sweeper that can't effectively wallbreak without boosts shouldn't be switching in very often, I'd remove the first point.
- Remove TWave mentions

Team Options:
- When mentioning hazard support, it's always helpful to give an example or two of what the hazard helps accomplish. A good one to give here would be getting the OHKO on Eviolite-less Mienfoo at +1.
- I don't think Klink appreciates Sticky Web support significantly more than other Pokemon, remove that point
- Instead of saying they can switch in on Earthquake, mention Grass and Flying-types can handle Ground-types for Klink. It's more broad and applies to more situations.
- Add Diglett because it removes many Pokemon that wall Klink such as Steel-types and Chinchou
- Add Memento users such as Cottonee and the aforementioned Diglett

Other Options:
- Remove Recycle, Magic Coat and the Special set, there isn't any particularly good reason to run those on Klink
- Add Magnet Rise to beat ground-types after boosting speed
- Put Thunder Wave here

Checks and Counters:
- Remove TWave mentions
- Remove Electric-types section, you'll be moving chinchou and mag into other places
- Change Pawniard into Steel types, mention Ferroseed and Magnemite
- Mention defensive chinchou in physically bulky Pokemon.
- I made those changes to condense the section down a bit and the electric typing wasn't all that relevant of a part of why those pokemon checked klink just in case you're wondering

QC 2/3, great work with this!

Whoever checks this next, I wasn't sure if I wanted to remove Fightium Z from Other Options. It's really weak and probably not worth taking up your teams Z move slot but I wasn't sure. Please weigh in on this!

[OVERVIEW]
  • The first sentence of the overview should make clear why people should use Klink, which the current one does not. Changing it to 'Thanks to access to Shift Gear and Gear Grind, Klink can be a decent late game sweeper'.
  • Try to use words like 'also', 'in addition', etc. to make sentences flow into each other a bit better.

After all, Water-types like Slowpoke and Staryu also resist Gear Grind but are hit harder by Wild Charge than by Return. Also, Steel-types resist both Gear Grind and Return and are thus also hit hardest by Wild Charge.
Set Details

  • Mention that an Eviolite increases Klink's bulk to give it an easier time setting up.
  • Mention the SpD EVs here. Also mention that the bulk investments hit an Eviolite number.

  • Change the wording in the third sentence. It currently makes it sound like Foongus can also Encore Klink.
