Overview
########

Typing:

Ability: Terravolt

Stats: 125 HP / 170 Atk / 100 Def / 120 SpA / 90 SpD / 95 Spe

Kyurem-Black is an amazing offensive threat with major offensive firepower that can decimate teams. He can Attack from Both Ends of the of the offensive spectrum with these stats. His attack is obscenely high, so it can take out special walls that wall the special moves that mainly make up his mixed sets. Kyurem-B has a good Special Attack stat to compliment its strong special movepool, it's extremely versatile and has quite a few viable sets. Kyurem-B hits most of the top-tier Pokemon with super effective or at least neutral damage on most sets. Teravolt ignores abilities like Levitate, Multiscale, and Sturdy that would cause a lot of problems otherwise. Dragon Typing lets Kyurem-B resist Water, Grass, and Electric types. With his pure offensive firepower and versatile range of sets, Kyurem-B has little to no reliable switch-ins. However, not everything is so good for Kyurem-B. Kyurem-B lacks good physical Ice STAB moves that he can abuse in tandem with his attack stat. He has less than ten viable offensive moves. His speed is less than optimal. Lastly, Kyurem-B is weak to many types that are common in OU such as fairy, fighting, and steel.

Wallbreaker
########
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Roost / Outrage
ability: Terravolt
item: Life Orb
evs: 20 Atk / 252 SpA / 236 Spd
ivs: 29 HP
nature: Mild / Hasty

Moves
========
Fist of all, Ice Beam hits a ton of threats, which include; both forms of Landorus, Latias, and Latios for super effective damage and is a powerful STAB move. The main special coverage move of this set, Earth Power, hits the fire and Steel types that resist Ice Beam for super effective damage. Fusion Bolt basically gives Kyurem-B boltbeam coverage and hits Flying-Types that are neutral to ice beam super effectively. Outrage helps Kyurem-B muscle past Chansey and Cresselia, which wall this set otherwise. Additionally, Dragon Claw is a nice dragon STAB to use if you don't want to lock yourself into Outrage. Roost helps Kyurem-B heal off Life Orb and passive damage as well as damage sustained in battle so that he can stay healthy throughout the match. Hidden Power Fire is a great option for luring in and killing Ferrothorn, freeing up sweepers that it stops cold like DD altaria lacking fire blast. Lastly, Iron Head can be used as a surprise coverage move to smash the fairy types that give Kyurem-B tons of trouble very hard.

Set Details
========
To begin, Life Orb Increases Kyurem-B's damage output significantly at the price of some HP, but it can be replaced with expert belt if you wish to bluff a Choice Item. The Speed investment lets Kyurem-B outspeed Base 80 speed Pokemon. The special attack investment is for maximizing damage output as this is a mainly special set. The remaining EVs are dumped into attack to power up fusion bolt, dragon STAB moves, and/or iron head. The nature is personal preference based on what you prefer, you can decide to hit a lot of things really hard or creep up on certain Pokemon. Lastly, 29 HP IVs make for an odd life orb number.

Usage Tips
========
First of all, try to switch in on any free switches or weaker/resisted hits. With this set, you basically proceed to do as much damage as possible before switching out after you come in. Also, try to predict switch ins if opponent needs to scout for moves, this is usually if the opponent is weaker to one Kyurem-B set more than another. Beware of priority users such as Scizor and Conkeldurr if Kyurem-B is low on HP. If using outrage, don't lock yourself in if there is a setup Steel-Type or Fairy on the other team. Roost when your HP gets lower, don't wait until Kyurem-B is in KO range in case of critical hits killing Kyurem-B. Lastly, you should try to predict switches as Kyurem-B forces a ton of switches.

Team Options
========
A stealth rock setter is appreciated for breaking focus sashes on the opposing team, weakening revenge killers, and putting some Pokemon into KO range of Kyurem-B's attacks. Defog or Rapid Spin support is also important for Kyurem-B because it has a huge stealth rock weakness. Examples of good hazard removal partners include; the lati twins, Excadrill, and mandibuzz. A strong Fire type (Heatran, both Charizards) or steel trapper (magnezone or magneton) for taking out Scizor and Ferrothorn is appreciated as those two are the two biggest counters to Kyurem-B. Sweepers like Mega Charizard X and Mega Metagross really like Kyurem-B because it can really weaken up their counters, and they don't have to be as careful as they would have to be otherwise. Latios and Latias are great partners specifically because they can defog for Kyurem and weaken up teams for Kyurem-B to finish off along with the rest of the team with STAB Draco Meteors, but they aren't perfect because they have typing similar to Kyurem-B. Terrakion and superpower Tyranitar love Kyurem-B because it removes almost all of their biggest counters. Kyurem-B is usually used on more offensive teams and doesn't work as well with more passive team mates because of its offensive nature. Teammates that can handle Keldeo, Talonflame, Latios, and similar fast threats are huge assets for Kyurem-B such as Celebi, Azumarill, Heatran, and Ferrothorn because they are the main way to check Kyurem-B. Heatran and Ferrothorn are really good specifically because they can set up hazards for Kyurem-B. Another great partner for Kyurem-B is Starmie, who can spin away rocks and has great offensive synnergy with Kyurem-B, and Starmie can run Hidden Power Fire to lure in and kill Ferrothorn as well as Scizor. Lastly, Klefki is an excellent teammate that can wear down Ferrothorn and Scizor as well as providing resistances that Kyurem-B really appreciates.

Substitute Attacker
########
name: Substitute Attacker
move 1: Substitute
move 2: Ice Beam
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Earth Power / Roost
ability: Terravolt
item: Leftovers
evs: 56 HP / 216 SpA / 236 Spe
nature: Mild / Modest

Moves
========
First of all, Substitute is the main point of using this set because it can allow Kyurem-B to get a free damage absorber when a Pokemon switches out or from being able to bulk a hit from the opposition that also blocks status. Ice Beam is the obligatory STAB move that is preferred over Dragon Claw or Outrage because it can hit a lot more targets for super effective damage and is generally a much better offensive type. Also, Fusion Bolt is an amazing coverage move that forms a pseudo boltbeam combo with ice beam and can hit the Water types that resist ice beam for a lot of damage as well as coming off of Kyurem-B's monstrous attack stat to take down special walls. Additionally, Earth Power is another great complementary coverage move to Ice Beam that demolishes the fire and Steel types that resist ice beam and can kill a ton of top meta threats that wall the rest of the set. Roost is an alternative option over one of Kyurem-B's coverage moves so that he can become a more bulky tank that can heal off damage and refresh its substitutes throughout the match. Lastly, Hidden Power Fire is a great option for luring in and killing Ferrothorn and Scizor, freeing up sweepers that they stop cold such as DD altaria lacking fire blast.

Set Details
========
Frist of all, 56 HP EVs give Kyurem-B 101 HP substitutes, so that they aren't broken from seismic tosses or night shades from various Pokemon. 216 Special Attack EVs maximize the damage output of Ice Beam and earth power, which end up being a lot more used than fusion bolt for this set. 236 Speed EVs ensures that Kyurem-B outspeeds all of the base 80 speed Pokemon. The Natures basically make you pick in between being a faster Pokemon and being a nuke that takes out other Pokemon. Life Orb can be used with roost to bluff a wallbreaker set that can heal off sub and Life Orb damage.

Usage Tips
========
Try to use substitute against a Pokemon that won't immediately break the substitute against Kyurem-B like Crocune or something similar. Another way that you can use substitute is by using it when you know that you are going to force a switch, which actually happens a lot. After you set up substitute, you can basically proceed to brainlessly use the corresponding coverage move against the opposing Pokemon unless the opposing player has to make a certain move. Lastly, if you're using roost, then you should roost up any time that you get close to around 50% HP to keep Kyurem healthy and ensure that it can keep setting up subs, preferably when you are behind a sub.

Team Options
=======
Defog or Rapid Spin support is a must for Kyurem-B because it has such a crippling weakness to stealth rocks and is a grounded Pokemon. Good hazard removers include but are not limited to; Starmie, Excadrill, Mandibuzz, and Zapdos. Latios and Latias are great partners specifically because they can defog for Kyurem and weaken up teams for Kyurem-B to finish off along with the rest of the team with STAB Draco Meteors, but they aren't perfect because they have typing similar to Kyurem-B. Another great partner for Kyurem-B is Starmie, who can spin away rocks and has great offensive synnergy with Kyurem-B. Running an offensive Steel or Poison type such as; Scizor, Bisharp, Gengar, or Excadrill can help deal with Clefable and Sylveon, which would otherwise give this set a lot of trouble, but look out for psychic moves coming from Sylveon if you're a Poison type and fire moves from Clefable if you're using a Steel type. Most Pokemon that are walled by common defensive Pokemons like Keldeo and Terrakion will be able to sweep with the wallbreaking support that Kyurem-B provides. Powerful physical attackers in general really help out Kyurem-B because they eliminate specially defensive walls like Blissey and Chansey such as Bisharp, Mega Metagross, and others. Team mates that can handle Keldeo, Talonflame, Latios, and similar fast threats are huge assets for Kyurem-B such as Celebi, Azumarill, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. Heatran and Ferrothorn are really good specifically because they can set up hazards for Kyurem-B. Lastly, Klefki is an excellent teammate that can wear down Ferrothorn and Scizor as well as providing resistances that Kyurem-B really appreciates.

Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Ice Beam
move 2: Outrage
move 3: Fusion Bolt
move 4: Dragon Claw / Iron Head
ability: Teravolt
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 252 Atk / 36 SpA / 224 Spe
nature: Naive

Moves
========
First of all and probably most importantly, Ice Beam is an excellent STAB move that is a phenomenal offensive typing that can smack top-tier threats for huge damage. Outrage is an amazingly strong physical dragon STAB moves that come off of Kyurem-B's stronger attacking stat and can do a ton of damage to anything that doesn't resist it, especially since this variation of Kyurem-B is fully invested in attack, being able to blow through teams after its counters have been eliminated. Fusion Bolt is a prolific coverage move that makes a boltbeam combo with Ice Beam and can hit a range of Pokemon in the tier extraordinarily hard with the attack investment for this set. Dragon Claw is a Dragon-type STAB that can be used if you cannot afford to lock Kyurem-B into Outrage or do not like to lock yourself into outrage. Iron Head is a great physical coverage move that can smack the faries that resist Kyurem-B's dragon STAB for super effective damage.

Set Details
========
First and most importantly, 224 speed ensures that Kyurem-B can outspeed every Pokemon that isn't holding a choice scarf in the tier with a positive nature. 252 Attack maximizes the damage of the majority of the moves on the set and lets Kyurem-B do a ton of damage. The rest of the EVs are dumped into special attack to power up ice beam. Naive Nature is an important nature that allows Kyurem-B to outspeed Choice Scarf Landorus-T. You can opt for a Naughty Nature if you want to maximize the damage of this set because the speed in this set is already enough to outspeed basically every relevant threat in the unboosted metagame. Choice Scarf allows Kyurem-B to act as a deadly revenge killer that can outspeed basically everything in site.

Usage Tips
========
In most matches, all Kyurem-B will do is click Outrage and watch something die, but be wary of Fairy-type setup sweepers on the opposing team. Dragon Claw is the second move that Kyurem should be using, and it is for when you can't afford to lock yourself into outrage in fear of losing the match to a setup sweeper. The only time that you should really be using the other two moves are when Dragon Claw and Outrage are resisted when one of the other two are not or if they are more effective than those two moves are and in these cases you should use the appropriate coverage move unless it is blatantly obvious. Switch out Kyurem-B if it is in range of getting revenge killed by an opposing priority user or choice scarf user to preserve its HP, as it has no method of healing bar wish passing.

Team Options
========
First of all, Defog or Rapid Spin support is a must for Kyurem-B because it has such a crippling weakness to stealth rocks and is a grounded Pokemon. Running a powerful special attacker is very helpful to this set because Kyurem-B and said Pokemon take down each others' counters. Lastly, Magnezone and Gothitelle are very helpful team mates because they get rid of the only things that can stand in the way of outrage in Steel-types and Faries respectively.

Other Options
########
First of all, Freeze shock with power herb can be a gimmicky physical ice STAB move, but is generally inferior to other sets because it can only be used once. Assault vest can be used to make Kyurem-B into a special tank, but it sacrifices recovery and the ability to use substitute. A Choice Band set can be used, but it really sacrifices speed and the ability to effectively use its special movepool. Draco Meteor gives Kyurem-B a very strong neutral coverage move that it can abuse without being locked into the likes of outrage, despite having to switch out after using it.
Checks & Counters
########
** Steel Types**Scizor can take out Kyurem-B with Bullet Punch and take hits. Ferrothorn can use gyro ball to kill Kyurem-B, cripple it with twave, and sap its HP with leech seed. Kyurem-B can use HP fire to check these mons but has to watch out for bullet punch from scizor.
**Revenge Killers**Talonflame can revenge Kyurem-B after small amount of damage and KO the more offensive sets after rocks alone a third of the time with the revenge killer set. Bulkier Kyurem-B can take a hit then fusion bolt and the offensive ones can if rocks are not up. Keldeo is another offensive check that can outspeed and KO non Choice Scarf variants, but it loses to the scarf set.
**Conkeldurr** can take hits from both sets, mach punch does around 50% to Kyurem-B, and drain punch can OHKO Kyurem-B after rocks. Kyurem-B doesn't really have any options to take out Conkeldurr.
**Hazards** Kyurem-B takes a ton of damage from entry hazards and gets worn down very easily by them, especially stealth rocks, and the best way to deal with them is to spin or defog them away.

Is there gonna be a subroost set? or are you just gonna slash it with one of the attacks on the substitute attacker set

I'm probably just going to slash roost with one of the attacks on the substitute attacker set.

Edit: I just did the slash for roost on the moves for the sub attacker set, and thanks for reminding me of roost, I probably would've forgotten about it if you didn't.

I recognize this is a WIP, but Dragon Claw / Outrage are not meant to be used on the Specially-based mix set to cover Fairy / Dragon / Ice STAB requirements, since Kyurem-B already has STAB Ice Beam. Outrage 2HKOs Chansey and Calm Cresselia (which I think is standard), whereas Dragon Claw fails to hit any notable target. Mention Hidden Power Fire too on that set because it comes handy if your team is really weak to Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor, which Kyurem-B can easily lure in.

Also, the Lati twins really do not rip holes in opposing teams. Latias is actually really easy to handle, whereas most teams are prepared to handle Latios, given it is a good Pokemon in OU. Clefable, Jirachi, Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, Bisharp, Tyranitar, and others are all staples that are capable of switching into Latios or trapping it with Pursuit after it drops to -2 from Draco Meteor.

Again, I recognize this is a WIP, but mention teammates that can handle faster Pokemon. Celebi and Azumarill can handle Keldeo, Heatran Talonflame, Latios, and Zard X, Ferrothorn Latios, etc. Heatran and Ferrothorn in particular are capable of setting up hazards to assist Kyurem-B in wallbreaking for its teammates.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll be sure to take them into consideration. I also mentioned hp fire in the alternate options section because it doesn't offer the same coverage as the other moves in the sets. The funny thing is that I run so many of those mons with Kyurem-B because they work so well with it and don't think about it.

Edit: Added in suggestions.

I'm not QC or anything, but Overview should not have specific stats and numbers, as the reader of the analysis can easily see it's stats.
Also, you might want to check out the spelling and grammar standards in analysis writing. Don't write Lando, scarfer, or mon, as newer people won't understand what it means. The "f" in fairy-type is also always capitalized, same thing for every other type. When adding slashes to a set, put a space in between the moves and the slash, so it's like this:
Outrage / Dragon Claw, instead of Outrage/Dragon Claw

And checks and counters is formatted wrong, it shouldn't have bullets, it should be like this:

**Scizor**:

**Conkeldurr**:

In the overview, you state that Kyu-B has high attack stat, but that's not actually the reason it's good. In fact, physical Kyu-B is much less common than specially based Kyu-B. Again, don't describe the specific number stats. Quoting what jukain said:
"On top of these points, don't state information that you can see in the dex entry. The typing, ability, and stats are at the top of the page. It is fine to talk about how a Pokemon's defensive typing lets it handle [x threats], how its STABs and coverage make it an excellent wallbreaker, or how its Speed stat puts it above the majority of the tier. What isn't fine is statements like 'Gengar has a great base 130 Special Attack stat'. This provides no useful information to the reader."

When it's this early into the analysis I really don't think most of the things you said are not necessary until the write-up. It's in bullet point form so as long as it explains something in single sentence it's fine. If you notice any spelling errors in the writing then either he will take care of it when he writes it or gp will take care of it. Also putting in slang terms does not matter when it's in bullet form. It's OK to nitpick, but cut the guy some slack when he hasn't even received a check yet.

This is his first analysis, so I just wanted to let him know.
All the spelling errors and slang terms are more GP related, but everything I said about the overview still stands.

littlelucario please don't worry about the formatting and abbreviations things that firehusky pointed out, like at all. They're a complete waste of time to fix at this stage of the analysis (worry about them when writing it up).

The analysis can be checked by any 3 QC members, the first two on the skeleton and the third after the analysis is written up. GP members will then check it for grammar.
Can you check it when you have some extra time then? Jukain

All Life Orb sets should have an HP IV of 29 for a Life Orb number.

+Speed natures should be replaced with the counterpart +Atk/SpA nature (so Mild for Specially Oriented LO, Lonely for Physically Oriented LO, etc) and only listed in Set Details imo. The only things you guarantee to outspeed it with are Jolly Excadrill (less common than Adamant) and Modest Mega Gardevoir/Zard Y (Gardevoir OHKOs all sets and lives can survive a Fusion Bolt), and the power boost is extremely helpful. For example:

252+ SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Mega Sableye: 144-172 (47.3 - 56.5%) -- 82.8% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 124+ SpD Mega Sableye: 133-156 (43.7 - 51.3%) -- 5.9% chance to 2HKO

firehusky, Dragon Claw on the Specially Oriented LO set 2HKOs Chansey after 2 Stealth Rock switch-ins or 1 switch-in + prior damage. It also doesn't lock you in and give Offense/Balance teams a chance to revenge you since they'll know you're not Scarf.

I thought outrunning Choice Scarf Landorus-T was one of the main selling points behind using Choice Scarf Kyurem-B. In order to do so, KyuB needs a Naive nature with 224 Speed EVs to always outrun Choice Scarf Landorus-T while running a Choice Scarf.

Also, the overview says Kyurem-B resists Fire-type attacks due to its Dragon Typing; this is false, as its Ice typing cancels that out. Please fix that.

Question: why is there no mention of Choice Band anywhere? Are both Fast Band and Bulky Band completely unviable?
Choice band isn't really usable from my testing of it because ice beam gets no boost and is basically useless in a choice band set. Giving up ice beam would really limit the coverage that the set would had because it would forfeit the boltbeam combo with fusion bolt among other things, but i'll add it to the other options section because I feel like it doesn't deserve a main set mention.

I don't think it makes Ice Beam useless - it has a small bit less power, but still has the great coverage and still the main targets hard (Pdef Lando-T, Gliscor, Hippo, etc.) That's just what I think, I'll leave that up to QC of course.

I mean useless as in a banded outrage does close to if not more than a super effective ice beam does.
