Kyurem-Black

[OVERVIEW]
  • Kyurem-Black has the best Base Stat Total of all of OU, sitting at a whopping 700, with sky high Attack and Special attack stats, a decent Speed stat, and fantastic bulk even when uninvested.
  • Kyurem's mixed attacking stats lets it perform as an incredible wallbreaker, nailing specially bulky Pokemon such as Mega Gardevoir with a hefty 170 attack stat.
  • With Ice and Ground coverage, Kyurem's special attacks have great coverage and power, especially when combined with physical coverage moves such as Fusion Bolt and Iron Head.
  • Despite having one of the highest Attack stats in the game, Kyurem-Black has very little to abuse it with. Fusion Bolt and Dragon-type STAB are often the only physical moves that it will bother using.
  • Fairy-type's prowess in the metagame really hurts Kyurem, despite none of them being able to switch into it, because a lot of them can OHKO with their STAB moves.
  • Despite the great bulk, Kyurem has a hard time finding switch in opportunities due to its plethora of weaknesses, including a weakness to Stealth Rock and common priority moves, such as Mach Punch and Bullet Punch.

Moves
========

  • Ice Beam is Kyurem-B's most reliable STAB option, hitting everything that doesn't resist it for a large amount of damage.
  • Fusion Bolt is excellent coverage alongside Ice Beam, hitting Water types super effectively and hitting almost all of Ice Beam's resists for at least neutral damage.
  • Earth Power gives Kyurem the ability to hit most Steel, Fire, and Rock types super effectively while also hitting Levitate users thanks to Teravolt.
  • Roost helps Kyurem-B recover damage from entry hazards, Life Orb recoil, and the occasional attack it takes, letting Kyurem wreck havoc throughout the match.
  • Iron Head is Kyurem's best option for hitting Clefable and Sylveon, who would typically beat Kyurem.
  • Hidden Power Fire hits Steel types that have a 4x weakness to it, such as Ferrothorn and Scizor on the switch-in, severely weakening or KOing them.
  • Outrage is an obscenely powerful move if you don't fear locking into it for three turns, but it comes at the cost of becoming setup bait for bulky Steel and Fairy types, such as Ferrothorn and Diancie, who can switch in on it and abuse the free turns.

Set Details
========

  • Life Orb, 252 Special Attack EVs, and a Mild nature give Kyurem-B the highest level of power it can obtain, while still retaining the ability to switch moves.
  • 236 Speed EVs allow Kyurem-B the ability to outspeed Pokemon with base 80 Speed, including Hoopa-U, Altaria, and Gardevoir before it mega evolves.
  • The rest of the EVs are put into Attack to increase the power of Fusion Bolt, and potentially Outrage and Iron Head.
  • A Naive nature can be used to outspeed Landorus-T and Pokemon with base 100 Speed that use a neutral nature, but it has little use in outspeeding them, especially at the cost of Mild nature's extra power.
Usage Tips
========

  • Kyurem-B's incredible power can be used at any point in the match to tear holes in the opposing team.
  • Kyurem-B fares best against balance teams, where it can tear apart teams that rely on resistances, due to its incredible super-effective coverage backed by its immense damage output.
  • Ice Beam is an incredibly spammable move, as very few Pokemon like switching into it; some of its resists, such as Mollux, Rotom-W, Heatran, and Krilowatt are unable to take Kyurem-B's other attacks.
  • Keldeo, Metagross, Scizor, and some other common Pokemon can switch into Kyurem if you predict incorrectly, putting pressure on Kyurem-B to hit them with with the right coverage move; however, very few of these Pokemon can take repeated attacks, and most of them have no recovery.

Team Options
========

  • Kyurem-B is fairly self-reliant, though it struggles with certain Pokemon depending on its coverage. If it lacks Hidden Power Fire, Magnezone and Choice Scarf Heatran are good partners for taking out Steel types such as Mega Scizor. Kyurem-B without Iron Head struggle with Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir, making Jirachi and Metagross good partners. Without Outrage, it struggles against Chansey and other bulky special walls, making Medicham and other Fighting types good partners.
  • Steel types such as Scizor make good partners to help handle Fairy, Dragon, and Steel-type attacks, as well as providing priority with Bullet Punch in the case of Scizor and Metagross.
  • Speed control from the likes if Tailwind Fidgit, Sticky Web Necturna, and Thunder Wave Clefable help Kyurem-B outspeed threats it normally couldn't, turning a great wallbreaker into a dangerous sweeper.
  • Fairies such as Sylveon and Clefable are great partners to help handle Fighting-type attacks, as well as having access to Wish and Heal Bell for healing Kyurem-B.-

Moves
========

  • Ice Beam is a reliable STAB move with great coverage against most of the metagame's top threats, such as Tomohawk.
  • Outrage is Kyurem-B's most powerful Dragon-type STAB move, with 120 base power coming off of a 170 Attack stat. Anything that isn't resistant or immune to the move will take an enormous amount of damage.
  • Fusion Bolt provides excellent coverage alongside Ice Beam, while abusing Kyurem-B's high Attack stat.
  • Iron Head allows Kyurem-B to get past Fairy-types with ease, hitting Clefable and Sylveon harder than any of its other moves.
  • Dragon Claw can also be used when locking into Outrage would be detrimental, such as when the opponent has a Mega Diancie who can revenge kill Kyurem-B locked into Outrage.

I'll continue with it if you don't mind a little bit more of a wait, I've been really burnt out on Pokemon and I need to test some more before I continue this with certainty. A week should be enough time to get this out of WIP, if that's alright

sounds good! -spark
