GODSPEED MEN, TAILWIND

Overview
########

With a combination of high Special Attack and Speed, Latios is a force to be reckoned with in the Doubles metagame. Boasting high power, Latios can severely damage or even KO a significant portion of the metagame with Draco Meteor alone. For an attacker, Latios sports good defensive typing, making it a good switch-in for notable Special attacks such as Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave and Keldeo's Hydro Pump. Latios can also provide invaluable support by providing speed control in the form of Tailwind. However, Latios only has average bulk and is notably physically frail. Its strongest move, Draco Meteor, also has the nasty drawback of weakening Latios's power, meaning Latios is much less threatening once it's fired off the move. Lastly, Latios is easily switched in on and beaten by the numerous Steel- and Fairy-types in the metagame, such as Mega Metagross, Sylveon, and Mega Mawile.

Special Attacker
########
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Psyshock / Psychic
move 3: Tailwind
move 4: Protect
ability: Levitate
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Latios's most powerful STAB move and is able to KO or at least deal significant damage to most targets. However, it has the drawback of lowering Latios's Special Attack by two stages, so Draco Meteor has to be used carefully or else Latios will easily become setup bait for switch-ins that resist or are immune to Dragon. Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits does not lower Latios's power. As Psyshock tagets physical defense, it can also hit foes with lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Pokemon holding an Assault Vest harder. Psychic can be used instead for its higher Base Power to hit threats such as standard Amoonguss and Landorus-T harder. Tailwind lets Latios support its teammates by doubling their Speed, helping them outspeed and KO threats they couldn't safely otherwise. Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch, essentially gaining a free turn to set up while avoiding getting KOed. The final move, Protect, is a staple move, letting Latios stall out field conditions, shield itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.

Set Details
========

Life Orb boosts Latios's damage output to higher levels, letting it easily get more KOs. Draco Plate is a usable alternative to still boost Draco Meteor's power but without the recoil, but its lower power boost and limit to Dragon-type moves make it unappealing. The given EV investment maximizes power and Speed. With Timid, Latios outruns many notable threats such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard Y.

Usage Tips
========

With Latios's high power, it is recommended to blast holes in the opposing team early-game with Draco Meteor. Be wary of using Draco Meteor, however, if the opponent still has healthy Steel- or Fairy-type Pokemon to switch in. Due to Draco Meteor's drawbacks and Life Orb recoil, it's recommended to play Latios as a hit-and-run attacker, switching out after a successful hit in order to shake off the Special Attack drop. In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred, such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can attack with Psyshock instead.

Thanks to its nice defensive typing along with Levitate, Latios can function as a switch-in for numerous notable attacks, especially special ones such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave. It's useful to set Tailwind in cases when Latios can safely do so, such as when it can take any move the opposing Pokemon have or when Latios can threaten to KO. Doing so can maintain momentum and let Latios's teammates be much more dangerous, getting KOs on threats they wouldn't be able to otherwise. Using Tailwind can also let Latios avoid opposing Sucker Punch in a pinch while still being helpful to its team. In the late-game, Latios can function effectively as a cleaner thanks to its high power and Speed.

Team Options
========

As Latios is an offensive Pokemon, it greatly appreciates teammates that can beat or at least switch in on opposing Pokemon that check it. Steel-types such as Mega Metagross and Heatran make for good partners, as they can switch in on opposing Dragon- and Fairy-type moves safely. Pokemon that can reliably switch in and beat opposing Dark-types are also recommended. Terrakion matches up well against Dark-type Pokemon, as it is able to get an Attack boost by switching in on Dark-type attacks thanks to Justified, while Mega Kangaskhan can nab KOs on a number of Dark-types and at the same time boost its Attack by using Power-Up Punch. Other Fighting-types such as Breloom and Scrafty can also fare well against Dark-type Pokemon, though Scrafty must be wary of giving opposing Bisharp a Defiant boost with its Intimidate. Latios also appreciates Quick Guard to block strong priority attacks such as Sucker Punch and Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave Bird. Again, Terrakion makes a good teammate because it can beat opposing Dark-types while being able to support Latios with Quick Guard.

Fake Out support is useful to give Latios a free turn to set Tailwind or get a free turn to hit with Draco Meteor. Mega Kangaskhan has access to Fake Out and is a very strong attacker overall, and Scrafty can provide additional support with Intimidate. Pokemon that work well in Tailwind appreciate Latios as a partner as well. Breloom works well in Tailwind, as the Speed boost allows it to neuter almost any active threat with Spore. Strong attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Charizard Y also appreciate being able to attack with less risk of being outrun and damaged.

Other Options
########

Substitute can be run to play around Sucker Punch and to avoid powerful attacks and status. Hidden Power Fire is an option to nab KOs on common Steel-type switch-ins such as Scizor and Ferrothorn, but it can't get past Heatran due to being nullified by Flash Fire and it forces Latios to give up one Speed IV, leaving it outsped by fully invested base 100s. Hidden Power Ground is also usable if you want to bait and KO Heatran while still hitting some Steel-types such as Aegislash and Mega Metagross, but outside of those threats it's essentially useless. A Mega set can be run, but it's outclassed by the Life Orb variant, which hits harder while having less of an opportunity cost. Recover is an option to give Latios longevity, recovering back health lost so it can stay in play longer. Thunderbolt can be run in order to 2HKO Togekiss while also hitting bulky Water-types such as Gyarados and Politoed super effectively. While seen on some Latios, Ice Beam is not recommended because it has redundant coverage with Draco Meteor, which is stronger and already gets the KO on threats Ice Beam hits super effectively, such as Landorus-T.

Checks & Counters
########

**Typing Advantage**: Dark-type Pokemon such as Bisharp and Darkrai can easily KO Latios with their respective STAB moves, the former being able to switch in on Latios's STAB moves and hit back with a priority Sucker Punch. Bug-types such as Mega Scizor and Volcarona hit Latios hard, though some have to be wary of Hidden Power Fire. Fairy-types can switch in on Draco Meteor safely and KO back with their STAB moves. Mega Mawile also has Sucker Punch to bypass its low Speed and get the jump on Latios for the KO. Steel-type Pokemon such as Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Heatran can switch in on a majority of Latios's attacks and significantly or, in Heatran's case, gradually damage it. Choice Scarf Genesect outruns Latios and hits hard with U-turn, and Mega Scizor can easily set up Swords Dance and deal significant damage with Bullet Punch. However, most Steel-types have to be wary of Hidden Power Fire bar Heatran, which has to watch out for Hidden Power Ground instead. Mega Kangaskhan deals significant damage with its Normal-type STAB moves while also packing Sucker Punch to bypass Latios's Speed. Choice Scarf Landorus-T outruns Latios and deals notable damage with U-turn. Mega Gengar traps Latios and has a high chance to OHKO with Shadow Ball. Mega Sceptile outruns Latios and OHKOes with Dragon Pulse.

**Speed Control**: As Latios is faster than a majority of the metagame, Trick Room puts it at a disadvantage by making it slower than most Pokemon and highlighting its only average bulk. Cresselia can reliably set Trick Room while taking everything Latios has. Aromatisse can also set Trick Room without fearing Draco Meteor. Opposing Tailwind takes advantage of Latios's average bulk by making the majority of the opposing team move first. Life Orb Talonflame can set it while hitting Latios hard, and Suicune can tank a Draco Meteor and hit back with Ice Beam. Thunder Wave takes away Latios's precious Speed. Thundurus can paralyze Latios with Thunder Wave while being near-guaranteed to get it off thanks to Prankster. Icy Wind lowers Latios's Speed to manageable levels while also hitting super effectively. Politoed is able to hit with Icy Wind while being bulky enough to take a Draco Meteor.

**Miscellaneous**: Follow Me users Togekiss and Jirachi can redirect Latios's attacks while being able to take them reliably, the latter completely walling Latios's standard moveset.

Overview
########
  • Its combination of high Special Attack and Speed makes it a force in the metagame.
  • Can severely damage or even KO a significant portion of the meta with just Draco Meteor alone.
  • Nice defensive typing which lets it switch in on notable Special attacks such as Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave and Keldeo's Hydro Pump.
  • Can support its team with Tailwind
  • Only average bulk, notably being frail on the physical side.
  • Its strongest move Draco Meteor also has the nasty drawback of weakening its power, meaning it can't really stay in and remain as useful once it uses it.
  • Easily switched in on and beaten by the numerous Steel- and Fairy-types in the metagame such as Mega Metagross, Sylveon, and Mega Mawile.
Special Attacker
########
name: Special Attacker

move 2: Psyshock / Psychic
move 3: Tailwind
move 4: Protect
ability: Levitate
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========
  • Draco Meteor is Latios' most powerful STAB move, getting a KO or putting significant damage on most targets.
    • However, it has a drawback of lowering its Special Attack by two stages so it needs to be used carefully as it becomes set-up bait otherwise.
  • Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits foes without lowering its power. It hits threats with low Defense such as Mega Charizard Y and Sylveon, and Pokemon equipped with an Assault Vest harder.
    • However, if that is not a concern, Psychic can be used for its higher Base Power.
  • Tailwind lets it support its teammates by doubling their Speed, effectively making them outspeed and nab KO on threats they couldn't otherwise.
    • Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch
  • Protect is a staple move, letting it stall out field conditions, protect itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.
Set Details
========
  • Life Orb is used to boost Latios's damage output to higher levels.
    • Draco Plate can be used to still boost Draco Meteor's power without the recoil. However, the power increase is less and it also loses out on power for the non-Dragon-type moves.
  • The listed EV investment maximizes power and Speed as much as possible.
  • With Timid, it outruns many notable threats such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard Y.
Usage Tips
========
  • Blast holes early-game with Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor easily gets in significant damage if not a KO on most foes so it's recommended to use it to soften up threats for its teammates
    • Be wary of using it when the opponent still has Steel- or Fairy-type Pokemon switch-ins healthy, however.
  • Due to the drawbacks Draco Meteor has, paired with the Life Orb recoil, it's recommended to play Latios as a hit-and-run attacker, switching it out after a successful hit with Draco Meteor in order to efficiently do its role.
  • In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can use its Psychic-type STAB move instead.
  • Thanks to its nice defensive typing along with Levitate, it can function as a switch-in on for numerous notable attacks, especially Special ones such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave.
  • Set Tailwind whenever Latios can afford it, such as taking most of its opponents attacks or forcing Protects.
    • Doing so can let its team be much more dangerous by getting KOs on threats it wouldn't otherwise and maintain momentum.
    • Using Tailwind can also let Latios avoid opposing Sucker Punch in a pinch while still being helpful to its team.
  • Late in the game, Latios can function effectively as a cleaner thanks to its high power and Speed.
Team Options
========

  • Steel-types: switch-in for opposing Dragon- or Fairy-type foes.
    • Aegislash, Bisharp, Scizor
  • Things that beat opposing Dark-types (Bisharp, Darkrai)
    • Terrakion
    • Mega Kangaskhan
    • Breloom
    • Scrafty, activates Bisharp's Defiant though :[
  • Quick Guard because Talon BB + Kang / Bisharp Sucker Punch
    • Terrakion
  • Fake Out: always good to help set up Tailwind or get a free turn to hit with Draco Meteor
    • Mega Kangaskhan
    • Scrafty
  • Things that appreciate Tailwind (i.e. strong attackers)
    • KING BRELOOM - Spores lots of things o,o
    • Mega Kangaskhan
    • Mega Charizard Y

  • Things that can switch in on attacks for it
    • Keldeo can take opposing Dark-type attacks and fares well against Dark-type foes. Can also beat Steel-types.
    • Both Rotom-W and Rotom-H can take a Brave Bird. The former beats Heatran while the latter beats majority of Steels. They also appreciate having an increased number of targets to safely burn thanks to Tailwind.
Other Options
########
  • Mega Set
  • Scarf
  • Specs
  • Calm Mind
  • Substitute
  • Light Screen + Reflect
  • Recover is an option to give Latios longevity, recovering back health lost so it can stay in play longer.
  • Hidden Power Fire is an option on this slot to be nab KOs on common Steel-type switchins such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It can't get past Heatran due to being nullified by Flash Fire, however. It also loses out on a point on Speed due to forced IVs.
  • Hidden Power Ground is also usable if baiting Heatran for a KO is desired while still hitting Steel-types Aegislash and Metagross, but outside of those threats it's essentially useless.
  • Can carry manual weather-setting moves such as Rain Dance and Sunny Day to maintain a favorable field presence for its teammates.
  • DONT USE ICE BEAM. It has redundant coverage with Draco Meteor, which is stronger and already gets the KO on Landorus-T.

Checks & Counters
########
  • Typing Advanatage
    • Dark-type Pokemon such as Bisharp and Darkrai can easily nab a KO with their respective STAB moves. The former can also take both of Latios's STAB moves and hit back with a priority Sucker Punch
    • Bug-types such as Scizor and Volcarona. Most except Volcarona have to watch out for HP Fire though.
    • FAIRIES. Can switch in on its Dragon-type STAB and KO back with their STAB moves. Mega Mawile also has Sucker Punch to bypass its low Speed, improving the match-up.
    • Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Heatran, can switch in on majority of Latios's attacks and significantly or, in Heatran's casem gradually damage it. Choice Scarf Genesect outruns Latios and hits it with U-Turn, and Mega Scizor can easily set up a Swords Dance and deal significant damage with Bullet Punch. All bar Heatran have to watch out for Hidden Power Fire, while Heatran needs to be careful of Hidden Power Ground.
    • Mega Kangaskhan deals significant damage with its STAB moves while also packing Sucker Punch to bypass its Speed.
    • Choice Scarf Landorus-T outspeeds and deals notable damage with U-Turn
    • Mega Gengar traps it and has a high chance to OHKO with Shadow Ball.
    • Mega Sceptile outruns and easily OHKOs with Dragon Pulse
  • Speed Control
    • TWave takes its precious Speed away
      • Thundurus
    • Trick Room turns the tables on it
      • Cresselia
      • Aromatisse, doesn't fear Draco Meteor.
    • Opposing Tailwind takes advantage of its average bulk when its not going first
      • Talonflame, also has Brave Bird to significantly damage Latios
      • Suicune, also has Ice Beam
    • Icy Wind lowers its Speed to manageable levels
      • Politoed

Overview
  • Priority attacks Sucker Punch and Brave Bird from Talonflame bypasses its Speed and hits it hard. <-- too much detail for overview
  • Collapse the Fairy / Steel bit into one point
  • no point saying it's mega is bad in overview if it isnt a set
Moves
  • Hidden Power moves aren't slashed so I don't know why you're talking about them in moves, belongs in oo
Set Details
  • No need to mention ability if there is no choice
Usage Tips
  • Too much detail on using dmeteor tbh, the first point alone is fine. Maybe condense it down to "be wary of Steel-, or Fairy-type switchins"
Team Options
  • Breloom can also use Spore to make better use of Tailwind turns o,o
Other Options
  • Drop Memento / HW / HH, Latias is better for all of these also healing wish is bad el mayo
  • Add mentions of Hidden Power from higher up
Check and Counters
  • For Icy Wind drop Keldeo and replace it with Politoed, you're literally suggesting Keldeo is a Latios check rn

p good for the most part, goes a bit too in depth at times

Special Attacker
-add that your third move choice also makes Latios useful in the face of Sucker Punch
-Move Recover to OO. Latios commonly finds itself getting KOed from taking lots of damage instead of being slowly withered down

Usage Tips
-mention use your Psychic-type STAB if you don't want to incur the special attack drop yet, like attacking before finishing off something with Draco Meteor
-can mention Tailwind against Sucker punch

Team Options
-things that beat opposing Dark-types. There are better options than Mega Kang; we want something that doesn't take much damage from switching in (we want a resist). Try Fighting-types. Like Terrakion who also receives a Justified boost, Keldeo. Hitmontop and Scrafty. They also fall under Fake Out
-no need to mention Keldeo can take a Knock Off; just combine beating Dark-types with taking Dark-type attacks

OO. Make sure to talk about the options a bit when you write this up
  • Add Substitute. Same logic as Tailwind, take advantage of switches and Sucker Punch, can avoid status too
  • Recover comes here
  • Mention DON'T use Ice Beam. The only reason I want this in is because a lot of Latios are using Ice Beam, even on the high end of the ladder (>40% of Latios), and it's stupid (bad coverage with Draco Meteor, Draco Meteor always OHKOes the standard Scarf Lando-T)
  • With HP Fire, mention the Speed IV drop which sucks
Checks and Counters
-move everything under Speed to Typing advantage; every single Pokemon you've mentioned in Speed falls under Typing Advantage too
-same with strong physical attackers. You've already mentioned Bisharp, Mega Kang, and Scizor in typing advantage. Talonflame has been mentioned under Speed control, just allude to its Brave Bird there too
-Trick Room, can mention Aromatisse as it doesn't fear Draco Meteor

Give an example of something Psychic actually hits harder when you say it's viable.

Aegislash is an awkward teammate to suggest, as it won't usually want to outspeed its foes, since then it takes hits in Blade Forme. It's still fine as a teammate, but mention how Tailwind can be double-edged for Aeg as a concern. Scizor doesn't typically need Tailwind to do its job either (and it's also just not that good). Maybe better Steel types to mention as teammates are Heatran and Mega Metagross.

Substitute, Hidden Power Fire, and Hidden Power Ground should be made more prominent in the OO section. Those are the only things there I would particularly consider good. You can also add Thunderbolt, which hits Togekiss (and incidentally Gyarados) quite hard. Personally, I just would leave out shit like CM. A lot of what you have in OO now is just not used and is generally outclasssed by what you have on the main set. Don't feel a need to put more stuff here than needed when Latios is a pretty straightforward pokemon. I trust you to edit this down a bit. But it's your analysis.

A miscellaneous tag could be added to get Togekiss and Jirachi Follow Me as a check/counter, or you could just add this into the typing advantage, though that would probably make it a bit cluttered. It's already a bit cluttered after DM's changes to consolidate the sections (though I agree with them). I don't like having just those two mons using one move in its own tag, but I think they're probably important enough to merit this treatment.

It's mostly written ok, but you may want to pass this over yourself once before handing it to GP. I think you can catch quite a bit yourself.

you only really use Psychic for the higher BP than any other reason. in truth, pshock is truly better as everything is invested bulkier Specially for the most part o-o so i removed it. can bring it back though

replacing MegaZor mention with MegaGross. deffo mentioning tran as well instead of Aegis

in OO, im gonna axe cm, specs (outclassed by LO), Scarf, screens, and weather moves? I've seen everything else used considerably well without being outclassed (bar mega but i *really* have to mention that somewhere).

doing everything else you said, including Misc. tag.

Would like your go-ahead before i take this to GP, as to make sure you're cool with what i did. maintaining quality and stuff like that.

Psychic hits standard Amoonguss a bit harder than Psyshock iirc. It's relevant enough to keep on the set, rather than OO. Just mention a mon or two in set comments. I think it hits Aromatisse harder as well. Landorus-T if it's in range and you don't want to lower SpA. There are reasons for Psychic, but yes Psyshock is more useful overall.

I meant for you to switch Scizor and Aeg with Heatran and MegaGross in the Team Options section, not in checks and counters (which I think is what you did?). Aeg is still a fantastic counter and should still be in C&C.

OO looks great. Writing is improved. Fix these 2^ things and pass it on to GP.

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Latios' most powerful STAB move, and is able to KO or at least putdeal significant damage ton most targets. However, it has the drawback of lowering Latios' Special Attack by two stages, so Draco Meteor has to be used carefully or else Latios will easily become set-up bait for resisting switch-ins. Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits foes while not lowering Latios' power. As Psyshock hits for damage on the physical end, it can also hit foes with lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Pokemon holding an Assault Vest harder. Psychic can also be used for its higher base power, hitting threats such as standard Amoonguss and Landorus-T harder. Tailwind lets it support its teammates by doubling their Speed, effectively makallowing them to outspeed and nab KO on threats they couldn't safely otherwise. Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch, essentially gaining free set-up while avoiding getting KOed. The final move, Protect, is a staple move, letting it stall out field conditions, shield itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.

Set Details
========

Life Orb boosts Latios' damage output to higher levels, letting it easily get more KOs. Draco Plate is a usable alternative to still boost Draco Meteor's power without the recoil, but the lower boost to power and only raising Dragon-type moves make it unappealing. The given EV investment maximizes power and Speed as much as possible. With Timid, it outrunspeeds many notable threats such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard-Y.

Usage Tips
========

With Latios' high power, it is recommended to blast holes oin the opposing team early-game with Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor, which easily gets in significant damage if not a KO on most targets, so it's recommended to use it to weaken foes forfor helping Latios' teammates by weakening foes. Be wary of using Draco Meteor, however, if the opponent still has healthy Steel- or Fairy-type Pokemon to switch in. Due to the drawbacks Draco Meteor has, paired with in addition to Life Orb recoil, it's recommended to play Latios as a hit-and-run attacker, switching out after a successful hit in order to shake off the Special Attack drop and efficiently do its role. In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred, such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can attack with Psycshock move instead.

Thanks to its nice defensive typing along withnd ability Levitate, Latios can function as a switch-in forto numerous notable attacks, especially Special ones, such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave. It's useful to set Tailwind in casinstances when Latios can safely do so, such as when it can taklive any moveattack the opposing Pokemon havcan use or when Latios threatens for a KO. Doing so can let its teammates be much more dangerous by getting KOs on threats they wouldn't be able to otherwise and maintain momentum. Using Tailwind can also let Latios avoid opposing Sucker Punch in a pinch while still being helpful to its team. Late-game, Latios can function effectively as a cleaner thanks to its high power and Speed.

Team Options
========

As Latios is an offensive Pokemon, it greatly appreciates teammates that can beat, or by theat least, switch in on opposing Pokemon that check it. Steel-types such as Mega Metagross and Heatran make for good partners, as they can switch in on opposing Dragon- and Fairy-type moves safely. Pokemon that can reliably switch in and beat opposing Dark-types are also recommended. Terrakion matches up well against Dark-type Pokemon, beingas it is able to get an Attack boost by switching in on Dark-type attacks thanks to Justified being a nice bonus, while Mega Kangaskhan can nab KOs on a number of Dark-types and at the same it boost its Attack by using Power-Up Punch. Other Fighting-types such as Breloom and Scrafty can also fare well against Dark-type Pokemon, though Scrafty must beware of giving opposing Bisharp getting a boost from Defiant. Latios also appreciates Quick Guard to block strong priority attacks, such as Sucker Punch and Gale Wings Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave BirdBrave Bird, which gains priority from Gale Wings. Again, Terrakion is mentioned, because it can beat opposing Dark-types while being able to support it with Quick Guard.

Fake Out support is useful tofor helping with setting up Tailwind or to getting a free turn to hit with Draco Meteor. Mega Kangaskhan boastcarries Fake Out while being a very strong attacker overall, and Scrafty can provide additional support with Intimidate. Pokemon that work well inwith Tailwind appreciate Latios as a partner as well. Breloom works well inwith Tailwind, as it can neuterralize (probably an unnecessary change, but I hate using 'neuter' because it makes the Pokemon sound like it's a pet) almost any active threat with Spore thanks to the boost in Speed. Strong attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Charizard Y also appreciate being able to attack with less risk of being outrun and damaged.

Substitute can be run to play around opposing Sucker Punch and to avoid powerful attacks and status. Hidden Power Fire is can option on this slotbe used to be nabattain KOs on common Steel-type switch-ins such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It can't get past Heatran due to being nullified by Flash Fire, however, and it also loses out on a point on Speed due to forced IVs. Hidden Power Ground is also usable if baiting Heatran for a KO is desired, while still hitting some Steel-types such as Aegislash and Mega Metagross, but outside of thoese threats it's essentially useless. A MegaLatiosite set can be run, but it's outclassed by the Life Orb variant as it still hits stronger while having less of an opportunity cost. Recover is an option to give Latios longevity, recovering backlost health lost so it can stay in play longer. Thunderbolt can be run in order to get a 2HKO on Togekiss while also hitting bulky Water-types such as Gyarados and Politoed super effectively.

While seen on some Latios, it is not recommended to run Ice Beam as it has redundant coverage with Draco Meteor, which is stronger and already gets the KO on threats Ice Beam hits super effectively, such as Landorus-T.

**Pokemon with Typing Advantages**(not sure how to word this, it sounds weird but w/e): Dark-type Pokemon such as Bisharp and Darkrai can easily KO with their respective STAB moves, the former being able to switch in on Latios' STAB moves and hit with a priority Sucker Punch. Bug-types such as Mega Scizor and Volcarona hit Latios hard, though some have to be wary of Hidden Power Fire. Fairy-types can switch in on Draco Meteor safely and KO back with their STAB moves. Mega Mawile also has Sucker Punch to bypass its low Speed and get the jump onKO Latios for the KO. Steel-type Pokemon such as Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Heatran, can switch in on the majority of Latios' attacks and significantly or, in Heatran's case, gradually damage it. Choice Scarf Genesect outrunspeeds Latios and can hit hard with U-turn, andwhile Mega Scizor can easily set up Swords Dance and deal significant damage with Bullet Punch. Most Steel-types have to be wary of Hidden Power Fire, though, bar Heatran, whoich has to watch out for Hidden Power Ground instead. Mega Kangaskhan deals significant damage with its Normal-type STAB moves, while also packing Sucker Punch to bypass Latios' Speed. Choice Scarf Landorus-T outrunsspeeds (outspeeds, man, outspeeds!) Latios and deals notable damage with U-turn. Mega Gengar traps Latios and has a high chance to OHKO with Shadow Ball. Mega Sceptile outrunspeeds Latios and OHKOes with Dragon Pulse.

**Speed Control**: As Latios is faster than a majority of the metagame, Trick Room puts it at a disadvantage by making it slower than most Pokemon, highlighting its only average bulk. Cresselia can reliably set Trick Room while taking everything Latios has. Aromatisse can also set Trick Room without fearing Draco Meteor. Opposing Tailwind takes advantage of Latios' average bulk by making majority of the opposing team move first. Talonflame can set it while hitting Latios hard with Life Orb, and Suicune can tank a Draco Meteor and hit back with Ice Beam. Thunder Wave takes away Latios' precious Speed. Thundurus can paralyze it with Thunder Wave while being near-guaranteed to get it off thanks to Prankster. Icy Wind lowers its Speed to manageable levels while also hitting super effectively. Politoed is able to hit with Icy Wind while being bulky enough to take a Draco Meteor.

For an attacker, Latios also sports good typing defensively, being a good switch-in on to notable special attacks such as Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave and Keldeo's Hydro Pump. Latios can also provide invaluable (???) support by providing speed control in the form of Tailwind. However, Latios only has average bulk, though, (AC) notably being notably frail on the physical end. Its strongest move, Draco Meteor, also has the nasty drawback of weakening Latios's power, meaning it can't really remain as threatening after once it's Draco Meteor's fired. Lastly, Latios is easily switched-in (replaced space between "switched" and "in" with a hyphen) on and beaten by the numerous Steel- and Fairy-types in the metagame such as Mega Metagross, Sylveon, and Mega Mawile.

Moves

Draco Meteor is Latios's most powerful STAB move, and is able to KO or at least put significant damage on most targets. However, it has the drawback of lowering Latios's Special Attack by two stages, so Draco Meteor has to be used carefully or else Latios will easily become set-up bait for resisting switch-ins. Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits foes while not lowering Latios' power. As Psyshock hits for damage on the physical end, it can also hit foes with lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Pokemon holding an Assault Vest, (AC) harder. Psychic can also be used for its higher base power, hitting threats such as standard Amoonguss and Landorus-T harder. Tailwind lets it support its teammates by doubling their Speed, effectively making them outspeed and nab KO on threats they couldn't safely otherwise. Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch, essentially gaining free set-up while avoiding getting KOed. The final move, Protect, is a staple move, letting it stall out field conditions, shield itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.

Set Details

Life Orb boosts Latios' damage output to higher levels, letting it easily get more KOs. Draco Plate is usable alternative to still boost Draco Meteor's power without the recoil, but the lower boost to power and only raising powering Dragon-type moves make it Draco Plate unappealing. The given EV investment maximizes power and Speed as much as possible. With Timid, it outruns many notable threats such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard-Y (replace hyphen between "Charizard" and "Y" with a space).

Usage Tips
========

With Latios's high power, it is recommended to blast holes on the opposing team early-game with Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor easily gets in significant damage if not and, (AC) in some cases, (AC) a KO on most targets, (AC) so it's recommended to use it Draco Meteor to weaken foes for Latios's teammates. Be wary of using Draco Meteor, however, if the opponent still has healthy Steel- or Fairy-type Pokemon to switch in. Due to the drawbacks Draco Meteor has, paired with Life Orb recoil, it's recommended to play Latios as a hit-and-run attacker, switching out after a successful hit in order to shake off the Special Attack drop and efficiently do its role. In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred, such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can attack with Psychock its secondary STAB move instead.

Thanks to its nice defensive typing along with Levitate, Latios can function as a switch-in for numerous notable attacks, especially Special ones such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave. It's useful to set Tailwind in cases when Latios can safely do so, such as when it can take any move the opposing Pokemon have a hit, (AC) or when Latios it threatens for a to KO. Doing so can let its teammates be much more dangerous by getting KOs on KOing threats they wouldn't be able to otherwise and maintain momentum. Using Tailwind can also let Latios avoid opposing Sucker Punch in a pinch while still being helpful to its team. Late-game, Latios can function effectively as a cleaner late-game thanks to its high power and Speed.

Other Fighting-types such as Breloom and Scrafty can also fare well against Dark-type Pokemon, though Scrafty must beware of giving opposing Bisharp a boost from Defiant. Boasting high power, Latios can severely damage, or even KO, (ditto) a significant portion of the metagame with just Draco Meteor alone ('just' and 'alone' are pretty redundant, so I'd take out one of them). For an attacker, Latios sports good typing defensively, being a good switch-in on (I'd change this to 'for') notable Special (this needs to be lowercase. Special is only capitalized when you're saying Special Attack or Special Defense iirc) attacks such as Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave and Keldeo's Hydro Pump. Latios can also provide invaluable support by providing speed control in the form of Tailwind. However, Latios only has average bulk, notably being frail on the physical end (this 'end' implies a spectrum of physical and special, which is frowned upon because there's no middle ground. reword to remove any implication of a spectrum). Its strongest move, Draco Meteor, (keep this comma) also has the nasty drawback of weakening Latios' power, meaning it can't really (I'd take out this 'really', personally) remain as threatening as it was after oncthe move it's firused. Lastly, Latios is easily switched in on and beaten by the numerous Steel- and Fairy-types in the metagame, (I also added this comma) such as Mega Metagross, Sylveon, and Mega Mawile.

Moves

Draco Meteor is Latios' most powerful STAB move, (either remove this comma or add an 'it' after 'and') and is able to KO or at least putdeal significant damage ton (good change; 'put damage on' sounds a little odd) most targets. However, it has the drawback of lowering Latios' Special Attack by two stages, so Draco Meteor has to be used carefully or else Latios will easily become set-up (should be 'setup') bait for resisting switch-ins (I would reword this bit because 'resisting' worries me a little). Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits foes while not lowering Latios' power. As Psyshock hits for damage on the physical end (same thing about the physical/special spectrum here; reword it), it can also hit foes with lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Pokemon holding an Assault Vest harder. Psychic can also be used (personally I like being super clear here and using 'instead' rather than 'also') for its higher base power (should be Base Power), hitting threats such as standard Amoonguss and Landorus-T harder. Tailwind lets it (I'd clarify that 'it' is Latios) support its teammates by doubling their Speed, effectively makallowing them to outspeed and nab KO on threats they couldn't safely otherwise (pretty good). Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch, essentially gaining free set-up (setup. but, I do think this part could be reworded) while avoiding getting KOed. The final move, Protect, is a staple move, letting it (I'd change this to 'Latios' to be super clear) stall out field conditions, shield itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.

Set Details

Life Orb boosts Latios' damage output to higher levels, letting it easily get more KOs. Draco Plate is a (yep) usable alternative to still boost Draco Meteor's power without the recoil, but the lower boost to power and only raising Dragon-type moves (this sounds a bit awkward and I would reword it) make it unappealing. The given EV investment maximizes power and Speed as much as possible. With Timid, it (clarify 'it' again imo) outrunspeeds ('outruns' is alright) many notable threats (I put in a comma here, but it's fine without it) such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard-Y (no hyphen here!!).

Usage Tips
========

With Latios' high power, it is recommended to blast holes oin (good) the opposing team early-game with Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor, which easily gets in significant damage if not a KO on most targets, so it's recommended to use it to weaken foes forfor helping Latios' teammates by weakening foes (alright). In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred, such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can attack with Psycshock move instead (good).

Thanks to its nice defensive typing along withnd ability Levitate (fine), Latios can function as a switch-in forto numerous notable attacks, especially Special (lowercase) ones, such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave. It's useful to set Tailwind in casinstances (I think 'cases' is okay) when Latios can safely do so, such as when it can taklive any moveattack the opposing Pokemon havcan use (hmm. personally I hate using 'live' that way and always change it to 'survive'. besides that your change is okay, but I think 'take any move' is fine too) or when Latios threatens for a KO ('threatens for a KO' sounds a bit odd to me).

Other Fighting-types such as Breloom and Scrafty can also fare well against Dark-type Pokemon, though Scrafty must beware of giving opposing Bisharp getting (this is alright as long as you remove the 'giving' before it) a boost from Defiant. Latios also appreciates Quick Guard to block strong priority attacks, such as Sucker Punch and Gale Wings Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave BirdBrave Bird, which gains priority from Gale Wings (I don't think it's necessary to explain this). Again, Terrakion is mentioned, because it can beat opposing Dark-types while being able to support it (I'd clarify the 'it') with Quick Guard.

Fake Out support is useful tofor helping with setting up Tailwind or to getting a free turn to hit with Draco Meteor (this could probably be worded better). Mega Kangaskhan boastcarries Fake Out while being a very strong attacker overall, and Scrafty can provide additional support with Intimidate. Pokemon that work well inwith Tailwind appreciate Latios as a partner as well. Breloom works well inwith Tailwind, as it can neuterralize (probably an unnecessary change, but I hate using 'neuter' because it makes the Pokemon sound like it's a pet) (not a fan of 'neuter' either) almost any active threat with Spore thanks to the boost in Speed. Strong attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Charizard Y also appreciate being able to attack with less risk of being outrun and damaged.

Substitute can be run to play around opposing Sucker Punch and to avoid powerful attacks and status. Hidden Power Fire is can option on this slotbe used to be (you forgot to remove this 'be') nabattain ('nab' is fine) KOs on common Steel-type switch-ins such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It can't get past Heatran due to being nullified by Flash Fire, however, and it also loses out on a point on Speed due to forced IVs. Hidden Power Ground is also usable if baiting Heatran for a KO is desired, (could be worded better) while still hitting some Steel-types such as Aegislash and Mega Metagross, but outside of thoese threats it's essentially useless. A MegaLatiosite set can be run, but it's outclassed by the Life Orb variant as it still hits stronger (there needs to be a comma before 'as' if you're using 'as' like 'because'. also, the 'it' here is pretty problematic because another 'it' is used right before it to refer to a different set! reword!) while having less of an opportunity cost. Recover is an option to give Latios longevity, recovering backlost health lost (good change imo) so it can stay in play longer. Thunderbolt can be run in order to get a 2HKO on Togekiss while also hitting bulky Water-types such as Gyarados and Politoed super effectively.

While seen on some Latios, it is not recommended to run Ice Beam as it has (what i said about 'as' in the previous paragraph) redundant coverage with Draco Meteor, which is stronger and already gets the KO on threats Ice Beam hits super effectively, (I also used a comma here) such as Landorus-T.

Steel-type Pokemon such as Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Heatran, (yes) can switch in on the (yes) majority of Latios' attacks and significantly or, in Heatran's case, gradually damage it. Choice Scarf Genesect outrunspeeds (I think 'outruns' is fine) Latios and can hit (good) hard with U-turn, andwhile Mega Scizor can easily set up Swords Dance and deal significant damage with Bullet Punch. Most Steel-types have to be wary of Hidden Power Fire, though, bar Heatran, whoich (yes!) has to watch out for Hidden Power Ground instead. Mega Kangaskhan deals significant damage with its Normal-type STAB moves, (I wouldn't add this comma) while also packing Sucker Punch to bypass Latios' Speed. Choice Scarf Landorus-T outrunsspeeds (outspeeds, man, outspeeds!) (I think 'outruns' is okay! nothing wrong with 'outspeeds' though!) Latios and deals notable damage with U-turn. Mega Gengar traps Latios and has a high chance to OHKO with Shadow Ball. Mega Sceptile outrunspeeds (ditto) Latios and OHKOes with Dragon Pulse.

Opposing Tailwind takes advantage of Latios' average bulk by making majority (you missed an 'a' or a 'the' here; you got it right before so I assume you just didn't see this one) of the opposing team move first.

**Miscellaneous**: Follow Me users Togekiss and Jirachi can redirect Latios' attacks while being able to take them reliably, the latter completely walling Latios' standard moveset.

With a combination of high Special Attack and Speed, Latios is a force in the Doubles metagame. boastsing high power, (RC) Special Attack and Speed Latios and can severely damage, or even KO, a significant portion of the metagame with just Draco Meteor alone (I didn't cut out that first part, but your change looks okay. for that last part, I would take out either 'just' or 'alone'; they're kinda redundant together). For an attacker, Latios also sports good typing defensively, being a good switch-in on to notable special (yep) attacks such as Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave and Keldeo's Hydro Pump. Latios can also provide invaluable (???) (this looks fine to me) support by providing speed control in the form of Tailwind. However, Latios only has average bulk, though, (AC) notably being notably frail on the physical end (this implies a spectrum of physical/special, which is highly discouraged! always reword the sentence when you see spectrum-ish stuff). Its strongest move, Draco Meteor, also has the nasty drawback of weakening Latios's power, meaning it can't really remain as threatening after once it's Draco Meteor's fired. Lastly, Latios is easily switched-in (replaced space between "switched" and "in" with a hyphen) (no hyphen! hyphens are used for 'switch-in', aka "Houndoom is a good switch-in for Sigilyph" or something. it isn't used for things like "The opponent switched in Kingdra". basically, if it's being used as a noun, use the hyphen.) on and beaten by the numerous Steel- and Fairy-types in the metagame such as Mega Metagross, Sylveon, and Mega Mawile.

move 3: Tailwind
move 4: Protect
ability: Levitate

evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Latios's most powerful STAB move, and is (either add an 'it' before 'is' or remove the comma) able to KO or at least put significant damage on most targets. However, it has the drawback of lowering Latios's Special Attack by two stages, so Draco Meteor has to be used carefully or else Latios will easily become set-up (this has to be 'setup') bait for resisting switch-ins. Psyshock is a secondary STAB move that hits foes while not lowering Latios' power. As Psyshock hits for damage on the physical end (what I said about spectrum stuff before), it can also hit foes with lower Defense than Special Defense, such as Mega Charizard Y, and Pokemon holding an Assault Vest, (AC) (not sure about this) harder. Psychic can also be used for its higher base power (this should be 'Base Power'. the other thing is that I personally like to use 'instead' rather than 'also', so like 'Psychic can be used instead for its higher Base Power', to make it super clear that you can't use both Psyshock and Psychic at the same time. kinda silly but yeah), hitting threats such as standard Amoonguss and Landorus-T harder. Tailwind lets it (I'd clarify what 'it' is here) support its teammates by doubling their Speed, effectively making them (I'm not sure about 'making' here; I think 'letting' or 'helping' is better) outspeed and nab KO on threats they couldn't safely otherwise. Using Tailwind also lets Latios act while ignoring opposing Sucker Punch, essentially gaining free set-up (no hyphen. when it's an adjective, like 'setup sweeper', there's no hyphen. when it's a verb, like 'Blissey set up Stealth Rock', it's two words. also, this is worded kind of awkwardly, so I'd rephrase it) while avoiding getting KOed. The final move, Protect, is a staple move, letting it stall out field conditions, shield itself from damage, and give teammates room to do work.

Set Details
========

Life Orb boosts Latios' damage output to higher levels, letting it easily get more KOs. Draco Plate is usable alternative to still boost Draco Meteor's power without the recoil, but the lower boost to power and only raising powering Dragon-type moves make it Draco Plate unappealing (the 'only raising Dragon-type moves' part is pretty awkward and should be reworded more imo). The given EV investment maximizes power and Speed as much as possible. With Timid, it (clarify 'it' imo) outruns many notable threats such as Terrakion, Keldeo, and Mega Charizard-Y (replace hyphen between "Charizard" and "Y" with a space) (good).

Usage Tips
========

With Latios's high power, it is recommended to blast holes on (you blast holes in something, not on) the opposing team early-game with Draco Meteor. In cases when using Draco Meteor is not preferred, such as when Latios doesn't want to incur the Special Attack drop, it can attack with Psychock its secondary STAB move instead (your change is okay, but it would have been fine to just replace 'Psychock' with the correct spelling).

Thanks to its nice defensive typing along with Levitate, Latios can function as a switch-in for numerous notable attacks, especially Special (this has to be lowercase) ones such as Hydro Pump and Heat Wave. It's useful to set Tailwind in cases when Latios can safely do so, such as when it can take any move the opposing Pokemon have a hit, (AC) (if you add 'a hit', then make sure to remove the 'a' from 'any move') or when Latios it threatens for a to KO. Doing so can let its teammates be much more dangerous by getting KOs on KOing threats they wouldn't be able to otherwise and maintain momentum. Using Tailwind can also let Latios avoid opposing Sucker Punch in a pinch while still being helpful to its team. Late-game, Latios can function effectively as a cleaner late-game (cool) thanks to its high power and Speed.

Team Options
========

As Latios is an offensive Pokemon, it greatly appreciates teammates that can beat, or by the least, (if you take this out, then make sure to remove the comma before 'or') switch in on opposing Pokemon that check it. Steel-types such as Mega Metagross and Heatran make for good partners, as they can switch in on opposing Dragon- and Fairy-type moves safely. Pokemon that can reliably switch in and beat opposing Dark-types are also recommended. Terrakion matches up well against Dark-type Pokemon, being able to get an Attack boost by switching in on Dark-type attacks thanks due to (I think 'thanks' is okay. taking out the 'nice bonus' stuff is correct, though) Justified being a nice bonus, (RC). (added period) while Mega Kangaskhan can also nab KOs on a number of Dark-types, (AC) and at the same it (should be 'time', probably) boost its Attack, (AC) by using Power-Up Punch. Other Fighting-types such as Breloom and Scrafty can also fare well against Dark-type Pokemon, though Scrafty must beware of giving opposing Bisharp a boost from Defiant. Latios also appreciates Quick Guard to block strong priority attacks such as Sucker Punch and Talonflame's Gale Wings Brave Bird. Again, Terrakion is also able to fulfill that role. mentioned because it can beat opposing Dark-types while being able to support it with Quick Guard.

Fake Out support is useful to help with setting up Tailwind or to get a free turn to hit with Draco Meteor (could be worded better). Mega Kangaskhan boasts Fake Out while being a very strong attacker overall, and Scrafty can provide additional support with Intimidate. Pokemon that work well in Tailwind appreciate Latios as a partner as well. Breloom works well in Tailwind, as it can neuter almost any active threat with Spore thanks to the boost in Speed. Strong attackers such as Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Charizard Y also appreciate being able to attack with less risk of being outrun and damaged.

Substitute can be run to play around opposing Sucker Punch and to avoid powerful attacks and status. Hidden Power Fire is an option on this slot (remove this because we're not talking about moveslots) to be nab KOs on common Steel-type switch-ins (add hyphen in between "switch" and "ins") (good) such as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It can't get past Heatran due to being nullified by Flash Fire, however, and it (keep 'it') also loses out on a point on Speed due to forced IVs. Hidden Power Ground is also usable if baiting Heatran for a KO is desired (this is sort of awkward) while still hitting some Steel-types such as Aegislash and Mega Metagross, but outside of those threats it's essentially useless. A Mega set can be run, but it's outclassed by the Life Orb variant as it (if you're using 'as' like 'because', it needs a comma before it. also, there are multiple uses of 'it' in this sentence that are referring to different things! make it very clear what they are all referring to) still hits stronger while having less of an opportunity cost. Recover is an option to give Latios longevity, recovering back health lost so it can stay in play longer. Thunderbolt can be run in order to get a 2HKO on Togekiss while also hitting bulky Water-types such as Gyarados and Politoed super effectively.

While seen on some Latios, it is not recommended to run Ice Beam as it has (what I said about 'as' above) redundant coverage with Draco Meteor, which is stronger and already gets the KO on threats Ice Beam hits super effectively, (AC) (fine) such as Landorus-T.

Late, but Aegislash is still a good Latios partner - with a bit of Speed investment it can outrun base 110s under Tailwind, which includes multiple Latios checks (Mega Metagross, Mega Diancie, other Latios) that Aegislash beats.

Sub spookysword is best for this purpose.

Not that Aegislash is bad; it's just that other Steel-types make better use of Tailwind. It's not worth the addition when we have to go on to explain that Tailwind can be counter-productive for Aegislash.

And Aegislash pairs well with almost everything.
