Legends to Life

Introduction
Hi guys and gals, Cyanide here with my second RMT. The team is built around Charizard X and sweeping with him, with Excadrill as Spin Support, Greninja as my normal Lead, Clefable and Kyurem-B to help take out a few mons and finally Thundurus-I to spread paralysis and revenge kill. This is by far not the greatest team in the world but I'd like to improve with it and see what the Smogon community has to say about my newest team to enter the fray.

A Look at the Team

Excadrill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
  • Earthquake
  • Rapid Spin
  • Iron Head
  • Rock Slide
Excadrill is my special wall as well as my spinner when the need arises. He does his job quite well and I feel like he is a strong member of the team. Earthquake and Iron Head serve as strong STABs and Rock Slide is there for coverage with Rapid Spin to remove entry hazards.

Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
  • U-Turn
  • Hydro Pump
  • Spikes
  • Ice Beam
When Greninja first arrived I honestly didnt think he'd get much use, but thanks to his Protean ability he now has STAB for every move he uses. Greninja serves as my lead and Spikes setter, I've found Greninja to have mixed success but its more dependent on my own predicting abilities. Hydro Pump and Ice Beam are for hard-hitting moves and U-Turn is keep momentum while Spikes is to layer up entry hazards.

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze > Tough Claws
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
  • Dragon Dance
  • Dragon Claw
  • Fire Punch
  • Earthquake
I absolutely love this thing. I believe its the best thing to ever happen to Charizard. I think this is a pretty standard set. DD to set up and Dragon Claw and Fire Punch for STAB with Earthquake as coverage. I try my best to get rid of entry hazards and the opponents setter before sending this in to clean up.

Thundurus @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
  • Thunder Wave
  • Thunderbolt
  • Focus Blast
  • Hidden Power [Ice]
Thundurus is kind of an odd ball. He hits relatively hard and +1 T Wave is quite helpful , but outside that he doesn't do much. I feel like he is the most replaceable member on this team. In saying that I've always really liked the design of the genie trio. Thunder Wave is there to cripple Pokemon on the other team with Thunderbolt and HP Ice having great coverage along with Focus Blast to hit things like TTar and Heatran hard.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Def / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
  • Aromatherapy
  • Moonlight
  • Moonblast
  • Calm Mind
Clefable serves as both a secondary sweeper, mixed wall and cleric for the team. Thanks to its new Fairy-type it now has some nice resistances and I've had some great results thanks to Clefable's ability to do nearly everything for the team. Aromatherapy is to cure the team while between Leftovers and Moonlight, Clefable has a lot of longevity. Calm Mind is to set up with Moonblast as its STAB.

Kyurem-Black @ Leftovers
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
  • Substitute
  • Earth Power
  • Ice Beam
  • Fusion Bolt
Kyurem-B acts as my wallbreaker and I am really enjoying using this Pokemon. He hits hard and fast without any boosts which was what I was looking for in my final slot for this team. Substitute is to stop status with Ice Beam as STAB. Fusion Bolt hits hard and forms near-perfect coverage with Ice Beam. Earth Power is there to hit Pokemon such as Heatran and others.

Conclusion
Thank you guys and gals, I'm excited to get some feedback for this team with ways I can improve it. I'm quite open to try out replacements and such and will try to reply as soon as possible, so thank you for your comments constructive or otherwise.

This is kinda nit picky, but why use moonlight over Soft-Boiled on Clefable. I know Moonlight is weather dependent, though I'm not sure how it is affected. Soft-Boiled always heals 50% of Clefable's health, so you don't have to worry about being screwed by weather. It probably won't happen very often, but Soft-Boiled just seems superior.

Ill swap Soft-Boiled and Moonlight , its actually happened more than you'd expect haha and thanks :) I'm thinking of swapping Vest for Air Balloon
