Overview
########
- The tongue
- Bulky all around, great Wish supporter
- Only one weakness (Fighting)
- Is immune to confusion status

Wish Support
########
name: Wish Support
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Knock Off / Heal Bell / Body Slam / Toxic
move 4: Knock Off / Heal Bell / Body Slam / Toxic
ability: Own Tempo
item: Eviolite
evs: 196 HP / 236 Def / 76 SpD
nature: Careful

Moves
========

- Wish is used to continuously heal while stalling with Toxic, and can also be used to heal teammates and provide safer switch-ins for them as well
- Protect helps to stall with Toxic and also to guarantee Wish recovery
- Toxic wears down the foe over time
- The final two moves can be any combination of the 4 listed.
- Knock Off is great for removing items and allows it to be a good counter to non-HP fighting Misdreavus and other Ghost-types
- Heal Bell heals your teams status which adds to Lickitung's amazing support role
- Body Slam is a nice STAB attack which can be useful for paralysis
- Toxic can be used to help stall out walls, particularly with Wish and Protect. It helps vs. non Substitute Misdreavus
-Maybe Dragon Tail/EQ/Return/Fire Blast deserve mentions/slashes.

Set Details
========

- Eviolite is the optimal item for providing more bulk, since Wish is already a continuous and reliable source of recovery and greatly outclasses the one-time use of Berry Juice
- Max HP to maximise the Wishes you pass
- 236 Def EVs are enough to avoid the 2HKO from LO Murkrow's Brave Bird 88% of the time.
- The rest is invested into Special Bulk, which helps with taking on Misdreavus, even at +2 if it doesn't have HP Fighting

Usage Tips
========

- Lickitung can switch into most unboosted non-Fighting-type attacks with ease and does not have the Poison and Steel weaknesses that Spritzee has, giving it that over Spritzee
- It's best to keep Lickitung away from Fighting-types at all times, and also keep it from being hit with Knock Off, as its tanking capabilities are significantly reduced if that happens
- Be careful not to poison foes that have the Guts ability, particularly Timburr

Team Options
========

- Spritzee can work with Lickitung to form an effective Wish-passing core and can also deal with Lickitung's weakness to Fighting; alternatively, Lickitung's Earthquake hits the Poison and Steel types that threaten Spritzee for super effective damage
- Snubbull, Koffing and Cottonee appreciate having Lickitung as a partner in particular for Wish support, and can take on the Fighting types that beat Lickitung.
- Trubbish also makes a good teammate for Lickitung, dealing with the Fighting-types who carry Knock Off, with its combination of Sticky Hold, Berry Juice, and Recycle
- Dark-types like Pawniard, Stunky, or Vullaby can help Lickitung beat Ghost-types if it isn't running Knock Off, which are immune to Return and Earthquake (as well as Toxic in Gastly's case)

Other Options
########

- Huge physical movepool, elemental punches, Power Whip, Aqua Tail, Earthquake
- Huge special movepool, sadly nothing Lickitung can really use, except Fire Blast which can hit Steel-types that are immune to Toxic, particularly Ferroseed
- Curse, Swords Dance to setup while healing with Wish
- Iron Head for Fairy-types
- Zen Headbutt for Fighting-types
- RestTalk
- Curse can be used with Resttalk and Dragon Tail but the introduction of Fairies makes this less viable.
- Substitute + Focus Punch
- Dragon Tail
- Cloud Nine can help to beat Sunny Day teams, but it cannot use Wish or Heal Bell with it.

Checks & Counters
########

**Fighting-types**: Scraggy, Mienfoo, Timburr, Meditite, etc

**Ghost-types**: Misdreavus, Gastly, Frillish, etc (if not running Knock Off)

**Burn status**: Fire-types, Will-O-Wisp, Scald users

**Poison-immune Levitators**: Koffing, Gastly, and Bronzor in particular can avoid both Toxic and Earthquake and can make things hard for Lickitung to damage them

**Archen**: It resists Return and is immune to Earthquake, it's a solid check

Mention Ferroseed as a counter, as it is immune to toxic, takes hardly any damage from knock off and body slam, while just leech seeding it and wearing Lickitung down with gyro ball.

frankly, the last two slots should be prioritized, as it looks pretty ugly as it is right now. try something like this:

move 3: Knock Off / Toxic
move 4: Heal Bell / Body Slam

the first slot is intended to be your way of handling Misdreavus. Knock Off would be more suited for offensively biased balanced teams (lol if that makes sense) whereas toxic is for slower teams where the knock off support isn't needed. heal bell gets first slot because lickitung is a pretty decent cleric. body slam is usable if you already have a reliable cleric (like spritzee or chinchou).

yeah in reality you could use any combination in the last slot depending on your team. this just looks neater and attempts to give some sense of order to the set. you can still mention in moves or set details that you can really run any combination of the four moves presented in those slots.

also:
  • slash oblivious in as a secondary ability. immunity to taunt is great for a defensive pokemon like lickitung.
  • mention pawniard in checks and counters. lickitung HATES knock off
  • mention taunt in checks and counters if you're not running oblivious.
  • maybe mention Trubbish in C&C? it's not hurt by knock off, it's immune to poison, and it can just use spikes on you and then attack with you drain punch or gunk shot. it doesn't really like body slam's paralysis though.
  • if earthquake is only in OO, why is it mentioned so much otherwise? if it's so significant, give it a mention under moves.

I can't stress enough that Body Slam and Toxic should never be on the same set though, because you'll end up paralyzing something you want to wear down with poison.

I had Return on the set for use with Toxic, and Earthquake to hit the things that are immune to Toxic for double damage, but Corkscrew removed it and added the arbitrary slashitis. >:(

I also wanted Impish nature.

I had in mind something more like this originally:

Wish Support
########
name: Wish Support
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Body Slam / Return / Heal Bell / Earthquake
move 4: Knock Off / Toxic / Heal Bell
ability: Own Tempo
item: Eviolite
evs: 196 HP / 236 Def / 76 SpD
nature: Impish

And Kavatika, I agree wholeheartedly about Oblivious.

I would QC approve this but there has to be a better way to slash the last two slots. I would say Body Slam doesn't need to be slashed whereas the last slots could be Knock Off / Heal Bell. Toxic can be mentioned but Toxic in XY is generally less important than paralysis+Knock Off. Heal Bell can also technically be used over Protect.

the problem is that pretty much any move could be used in the final 2 slots: i suppose this is the way to go, with a mention in moves that the last two slots are quite interchangeable.

Wish
Protect
Body Slam / Toxic
Knock Off / Heal Bell

(also sorry i was responsible for bad slashes in the first place)

Well, at least make it so that the primary set isn't Wish, Protect, Knock Off, and Knock Off, switch Body Slam into one of those slots.

Otherwise remove banned mons and this is approved.

  • Mention some of Lickitung's flaws! It has many, probably the main one being slightly an inferior Wishpasser to Spritzee (I prefer Spritzee bc it beats every single Fighting-type BAR FROG). [In Overview if that wasnt clear]
  • Not really sure about the function of Toxic (Heysup talked about this) as Toxic is garbdix in LC due to the fast pacing and low damage done. IMO remove it or try and play it up more. like what does it hit? it only makes Lickitung lose its ability to beat something like Sub+NP Misdreavus that it normally does.
  • Not sure any of the "alternate moves" really deserve a mention in Moves. Dragon Tail sucks, as I find phazing best on a Pokemon that can force switches by being it (so you force out there "counter" with roar or something). Not to mention hazards aren't as important in LC anymore (like wtf i never see stealth rock anymore : [ ) Fire Blast could be the only one to get a mention, but no one runs ferroseed anyway and you win with decent play with wishplaying one on one anyway
  • remove cloud nine from OO please. It is absollutely horrid, and waaaaay too situational to ever be an option.
Looks good tho QC 2/3 with the above changes, as well as every other change from the other members (I like rowan's set the best tbh) as well as removal of banned mons

Bumping this since it hasnt been touched since early june, nor has my qc check been implemented.
