Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 36 HP / 220 Def / 252 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Wish
- Protect
- Knock Off
- Mirror Coat

Classic set and spread except Mirror Coat. The strategy here is really easy to understand : MAmpharos comes in, click Volt Switch but did not expect Mirror Coat. In a 1vs1 situation you clearly win :

28 SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Volt Switch vs. 36 HP / 252 SpD Alomomola: 300-354 (62.5 - 73.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

In a 6vs6 situation : MAmpharos switches out and one member of the team takes the damage.
Now why Alomomola and not Suicune/Milotic ? Simple, REGENERATOR.

Talonflame
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Taunt

The premise is that MAmph is the team's Talonflame check. Here, we try to disrupt that. You can catch MAmph with Taunt on the switch so it Volt Switches out (meaning you Roost accordingly) or worse, render it useless for a few turns if it's Asleep (Sleep Talk gets blocked by Taunt). It doesn't bring a lot of damage but at least you can do better than most other Talonflame. Make the most out of that VS attempt but DO NOT initiate this if Talonflame's checks are still healthy enough to take it on (say, Ttar because no to WoW).

Ampharos sure hardwalls this, but it's cool since VS does 20-ish% if Talonflame Roosts at the right moment; Dragon Pulse also deals slightly the same amount. Some Ground NG set can be used here but w/e.

I'm really noticing I'm always presenting passive lures here. I'll try switching that next week.
i don't think that this set can be called lure at all, unlike the KidMagic's one

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Bug Bite

Mega Ampharos can normally tank anything bulky Mega Scizor can throw at it but not this variant of Mega Scizor. Offensive SD Mega Scizor OHKOes Mega Ampharos at +2 while also having enough Speed and coverage to dent Heatran, Rotom-W, Mega Venusaur and other Pokemon which walls the standard bulky set.

28 SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Volt Switch vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Scizor: 118-141 (41.8 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO
+2 252+ Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bug Bite vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 345-406 (90 - 106%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO

this is kind of a super standard set and mega amph isn't usually used to tank hits from gliscor unless absolutely needed.

Well, 90% of Mega Scizor you see are bulky SDs which isn't breaking Mega Amphy soon so ...
Plus, Modest Zard-Y is much more common than Offensive SD Mega Scizor from my experience

togekiss.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Dazzling Gleam
- Roost

Man this is a hard thing to lure! Dazzling gleam Togekiss does a good effort though. M-Ampharos is usually a guaranteed switch-in to Togekiss, resisting air slash and being immune to thunder wave, and 2HKO-info with volt switch in return. Dazzling gleam however is a clean 2HKO after a nasty plot:

+2 252+ SpA Togekiss Dazzling Gleam vs. 248 HP / 232+ SpD Ampharos: 213-252 (55.6 - 65.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

28 SpA Ampharos Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Togekiss: 156-186 (50.1 - 59.8%) -- 78.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

And he can just roost off the volt switch damage to check Fabio throughout the match.

Mega Venusaur is not a great lure because you won't see a Mega Ampharos switching in against it. DGleam Togekiss is the best lure here imo

eq mvenu isnt even a lure cuz its just gonna vswitch out on u aif u bring it in, and that set is frankly garbage when it just dpulses u for big damage every time and u got no recovery and sd is trash like i said lmao. i would buy it if it was growth sun sweeper with eq but not this rofl

tflame isnt even a lure if i was at full health, i cant roost! it does big damage with volt switch and opp can go to a check, rocks up? u lose not a lure

mirror coat alom is hot but u dont exactly kill amphy just a teammate not a lure

offensive scizor and defensive zor beat amphy anyways lel not a lure

dpulse zardy is trash but it is still a lure i guess but not the best option

that leaves you with gyara and togekiss but amphy is more likely to come in on toge than gyara so sorry jordan. tflame is cute but i usually can tell in preview if u r natural gift based off building style and the nature of ur other members

going dazzling gleam togekiss

Voting is over and our winner through voting is EQ Mega Venusaur by nameless90 and our other winner is Dazzling Gleam Togekiss!

Honorable Mentions include Natural Gift Talonflame and EQ Mega Gyarados!

Week 17 Magic Guard Clefable

clefable.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave

Clefable is one of the best mons in OU, as it's able to provide fantastic support. It's able to check multiple threats, and having it's great ability in Magic Guard makes it immune to status damage, as well as hazard damage. It's able to not only take multiple hits, but it's able to cripple opposing threats via Thunder Wave, and then proceed to heal up and set up with Calm Mind. It's got a vast movepool that includes Flamethrower, Wish, and Stealth Rock, so it's able to do a lot for a team depending on what it needs. If there's anything that makes Clefable great, it's being able to avoid 1-2HKO's and make use of the situation with Thunder Wave or whatever move it decides to use.

thundurus.gif

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Ice
- Sludge Wave

Clefable is normally a GSI to NP Thundurus, as thunderbolt even with life orb is not a 2HKO with leftovers recovery (most NP Thundurus carry lefties anyway), and Clef can start setting up calm minds or softboiled-stalling for LO recoil. Sludge wave however is a guaranteed 2HKO, even with a calm mind boost after the first one, and obviously a OHKO after a nasty plot:

252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Sludge Wave vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 239-283 (60.6 - 71.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Sludge Wave vs. +1 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 161-190 (40.8 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 169-200 (42.8 - 50.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hurricane
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Iron Tail

Clefable is normally a good check to Tornadus, as it can set up and recover any damage from Hurrimiss Hurricane. However, Iron Tail, unlike Hurricane, guarantees the 2HKO after leftovers recovery, and ignores the Calm Mind boosts. This set also lures in Mega Diancie, among others.

76 Atk Life Orb Tornadus-T Iron Tail vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 213-252 (54 - 63.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

sharpedo-mega.gif

Sharpedo @ Sharpedoite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Poison Jab

Clefable is generally a pretty safe switch in vs Sharpedo as it can avoid 2HKO from Waterfall. PJab can lure it in for some pretty heavy damage which can weaken Clefable alot for teammates to clean up.

252+ Atk Sharpedo Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 192-226 (48.7 - 57.3%) -- 47.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Mega Sharpedo Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 214-252 (54.3 - 63.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

EDIT: fixed some typos
