This is a pretty cool way to lure Amoonguss and Venusaur. Manaphy avoids the 2HKO from standard defensive Amoonguss and OHKOs after a tail glow. You don't lose much as this set would normally run energy ball or psychic anyway. Starmie and Slowbro will be a bit more difficult, but not really much of a bother imo. There's an extra calc if you happen to have three spikes up as well.

0 SpA Amoonguss Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manaphy: 140-168 (41 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

+3 252 SpA Manaphy Psychic vs. 252 HP / 96 SpD Amoonguss: 438-516 (101.3 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

0 SpA Amoonguss Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Manaphy: 140-168 (41 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

The purpose of this thread is to create and find effective lures to a selected mon using unusual moves, spreads, items, etc. If a certain "lure move" hits other common threats that would normally counter, than its effectiveness and reliability as a lure is increased. The fact that Manaphy already OHKOes at +3 with Ice Beam, a pretty common move, (btw Hostel, you're using the wrong spread in your calcs, so please use 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD for Amoonguss instead) means it simply isn't going to lure Amoonguss at all.

I didn't notice that. I'll fix it. Someone really needs to fix the sets on the calculator. ;-; They're always wrong.
