Mamoswine [Singles]

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great check to many common Pokemon, including Dragon-types such as Garchomp and Mega Salamence, both of which are 4x weak to Ice; Steel-types such as Heatran; and Electric-types such as Thundurus and Zapdos. Its Ground / Ice STAB combination in is very hard to switch into in general because it hits many Pokemon at least neutrally. Most Ice-types are severely hindered by their typing, but Mamoswine can make good use of its Ground / Ice typing along with Thick Fat, offsetting its Fire weakness and Ice neutrality and giving it an immunity and resistance to the famous BoltBeam combination that many Electric-types carry. Mamoswine also has other useful moves, such as the always-handy Stealth Rock as well as Fissure to deal with defensive Pokemon it can't break through otherwise. Mamoswine is also very versatile. If your opponent predicts the wrong set, it can potentially cost them the game. One of Mamoswine's biggest downsides is its mediocre Speed, leaving it outsped by Pokemon such as Mega Charizard X and Y, Mega Kangaskhan, and Gengar. Mamoswine also has very common hard counters such as Cresselia, Rotom-W, and Suicune. These Pokemon can freely switch into Mamoswine, and there's not much it can do to punish them.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is Mamoswine's strongest STAB move and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Aegislash and Mega Gengar. Ice Shard is a fantastic move for picking off weakened foes that would outspeed Mamoswine otherwise. Icicle Spear is very useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash, giving Mamoswine an edge over other Focus Sash leads such as Breloom and Garchomp. Stealth Rock is useful for getting some chip damage on Pokemon, and with Focus Sash, Mamoswine can reliably set it if you need it to. Endeavor is a nice option to heavily cripple something after Mamoswine has been brought down to its Focus Sash. Fissure can be used to deal with some defensive Pokemon that are tough for Mamoswine to break through, and although the low accuracy might seem like a big risk, Focus Sash guarantees it'll have at least two attempts to hit, which is about a 50% chance.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment is preferred, as with Focus Sash investing in bulk isn't necessary. Maximum Speed is important to ensure Mamoswine outspeeds Breloom and takes it out with Icicle Spear. Focus Sash makes Mamoswine a great lead and revenge killer, able to take big hits and retaliate with its own. Thick Fat increases Mamoswine's defensive capabilities, helping it take the popular BoltBeam combination often used on Pokemon such as Thundurus and Zapdos.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine is a very nice lead thanks to Focus Sash and can reliably set up Stealth Rock if necessary. With Focus Sash, dealing with Mamoswine is rather troublesome, as it can survive most hits and attack back with its strong STAB and priority moves. Common leads for Mamoswine to take on include Garchomp and Breloom, though Icicle Spear won't be able to KO Breloom with only two hits. However, since Mamoswine is such a common lead, leading with something to beat Mamoswine checks can be an effective way to punish your opponent. It also works as a good revenge killer, and it does especially well against common sweepers such as Mega Salamence, Garchomp, and Blaziken. It can survive strong attacks and attempt to OHKO back or 2HKO with help from Ice Shard. Mamoswine also works great as a Thundurus check, as it is able to switch into Thunder Wave and other common attacks from Thundurus. Pokemon that are terrified of Talonflame appreciate having the Stealth Rock that Mamoswine can provide. Serperior, for example, has an easy time with Talonflame weakened or taken out and can deal with Rotom-W for Mamoswine.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine's reliability as a Stealth Rock setter and Thundurus check makes it a beneficial teammate for setup sweepers. Most setup sweepers really appreciate the chip damage from Stealth Rock and Mamoswine's ability to switch into Thunder Wave fairly easily. Pokemon such as Mega Salamence, Mega Charizard X, and Blaziken all appreciate having Mamoswine on their team. Thundurus can deal with bulky Water-types that Mamoswine often struggles with and can also provide Thunder Wave support to make up for Mamoswine's below-average Speed tier. Talonflame appreciates Mamoswine as a teammate because it can deal with Pokemon that often give Talonflame trouble, such as Thundurus, Garchomp, and Landorus-T.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move. Ice Shard offers priority, which makes up for this set's minimal Speed investment and is very useful for picking off faster, weakened foes. Icicle Spear is useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Garchomp, Thundurus, and Mega Salamence. Fissure helps Mamoswine break through defensive Pokemon such as Suicune and Porygon2. With Assault Vest Mamoswine can withstand a lot of attacks, providing a lot of turns to attempt to hit Fissure. Knock Off is a nice option for removing items such as Sitrus Berry to prevent recovery and crippling Pokemon relying on items such as Eviolite and Choice Scarf. Rock Tomb can be useful for hitting Talonflame, which can wall Mamoswine quite well otherwise. It also lowers Speed, which can be especially nice when you predict something faster to switch in.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature is used so that Mamoswine still has a good offensive presence. The HP EVs minimize residual damage. Maximum Special Defense investment is used to increase the utility of Assault Vest as much as possible. The Speed investment is enough for Mamoswine to outspeed most Suicune variants. The remaining EVs are all put into Attack to increase Mamoswine's damage output. Assault Vest, most importantly, helps Mamoswine take on Electric-types such as Thundurus very well. It's also very nice against other special attackers such as Porygon2, Aegislash, and Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine works as a great answer to Thundurus, as it is immune to Thunderbolt and resists Hidden Power Ice, Thundurus's most common moves. The only moves it has to watch out for are Focus Blast and Grass Knot, but thanks to Assault Vest, it can survive both. Mamoswine can take on a lot of defensive Pokemon very well with Fissure. Assault Vest allows Mamoswine to take a lot of attacks from Pokemon such as Porygon2 and even defensive Suicune, granting it more turns to attempt to hit Fissure. It can revenge kill a good number of Pokemon in the metagame thanks to its nice STAB coverage, such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Raikou, and weakened Aegislash. Mamoswine can switch in against most special attackers, but its physical bulk isn't very impressive and thus it shouldn't switch directly in to most physical attacks.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine is a nice partner for Mega Salamence, as it can consistently switch into Thundurus thanks to the Special Defense boost from Assault Vest. With Assault Vest, Mamoswine can often deal with Pokemon that would normally take it on easily, such as Suicune and Porygon2, and removing them via Fissure at them is very beneficial to offensive Pokemon such as Blaziken, Mega Kangaskhan and Talonflame. Suicune appreciates Mamoswine's ability to consistently switch into Electric-types, and if holding a Rocky Helmet, Suicune can handle Mega Kangaskhan, which Mamoswine normally struggles against. Serperior can deal with Water-types such as Rotom-W that Mamoswine struggles with and can paralyze fast threats so Mamoswine can outspeed them. Mamoswine also handles Thundurus well, making things much easier for Serperior. Mega Gengar can trap and beat some Pokemon that threaten Mamoswine such as Mega Kangaskhan and Cresselia.

[SET]

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move, and it's useful for hitting Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Heatran super effectively. Ice Shard gives Mamoswine priority, helping to make up for the low Speed investment, and hits many Pokemon super effectively, such as Thundurus and Mega Salamence. Stealth Rock helps get chip damage and breaks Focus Sash. With the bulk on this set, Mamoswine can often set Stealth Rock reliably. Toxic helps wear down many of Mamoswine's common switch-ins such as Cresselia and Rotom-W. Icicle Spear is a nice option if you want a stronger Ice STAB move. Knock Off offers nice utility in taking out the foe's item which will often be crucial to their game plan. Rock Tomb allows Mamoswine to hit Talonflame, and the Speed drops might be useful. Fissure helps Mamoswine take out some defensive Pokemon that aren't bothered as much by Toxic, such as Rest Suicune and Chansey with Natural Cure.

Set Details
========

An Impish nature with maximum investment in HP and Defense is used to take on strong attackers like Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Salamence. Maximum investment is needed to ensure the best chance of surviving a Double-Edge from +1 Mega Salamence. Rocky Helmet allows Mamoswine get a lot of damage on Mega Kangaskhan because of Parental Bond and other Pokemon with recoil moves such as Blaziken, Mega Salamence, and Talonflame. Thick Fat helps Mamoswine easily take Ice-type attacks, making it a very consistent switch-in to Electric-types such as Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========

If you need a Pokemon that can deal with physical attackers like Mega Salamence and Kangaskhan but also need a Thundurus check, Rocky Helmet Mamoswine is a good option. Mamoswine can withstand Fake Out and Double Edge from Mega Kangaskhan and take it out with Earthquake after Rocky Helmet damage. However, Mamoswine often should not be switched directly into Kangaskhan because it can be 2HKOed. Mamoswine should come into Kangaskhan on a free switch if possible. It can be used to switch into Thundurus, so that teammates such as Mega Salamence and Blaziken aren't crippled by Thunder Wave. Mamoswine can also be used as a dedicated counter to Garchomp and Landorus-T, being able to take their hits and dish out 4x super effective damage back.

Team Options
========

Blaziken especially appreciates bulky Mamoswine as a partner. With the defensive investment, Mamoswine can take on some big checks to Blaziken such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, and Thundurus. Mamoswine also lures in Cresselia and can wear it down with Toxic, making it easier for Blaziken to deal with. Stealth Rock support is also very beneficial for getting chip damage and breaking Focus Sash to up a successful sweep for Blaziken. Mega Salamence appreciates Mamoswine's ability to take on Thundurus and wear down Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Cresselia with Toxic. Thundurus is a nice teammate to deal with bulky Water-types such as Suicune that Mamoswine has trouble dealing with. Mamoswine can also deal with Choice Scarf Ground-types such as Garchomp and Landorus-T, both of which can can threaten Thundurus with Stone Edge.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Icicle Spear / Icicle Crash
move 3: Superpower / Rock Slide
move 4: Fissure / Knock Off / Ice Shard
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Thick Fat
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Earthquake is a strong and reliable STAB move, and it can be used to OHKO Mega Gengar. It also hits other common Pokemon such as Aegislash and Heatran super effectively. Icicle Spear is useful for breaking Focus Sash and Substitutes. Icicle Crash can be used instead if you want a more consistent damage output; it also has a nice flinch chance, which is especially useful with Choice Scarf boosting Mamoswine's Speed. Superpower offers nice coverage on Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Kangaskhan, and other Mamoswine. Alternatively, Rock Slide OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y, which are hard for Mamoswine to take on otherwise. Fissure can be used when you predict defensive Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Suicune to switch in. It can also be used as a last-resort attack in a pinch. Knock Off can be used as it offers nice utility, removing your foe's item. Ice Shard can be useful in situations against priority users.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment is important to outspeed Mega Gengar and Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T. The remaining EVs are used in Attack to allow Mamoswine to do as much damage as possible. Choice Scarf allows Mamoswine to outspeed many Pokemon it wouldn't otherwise, such as Mega Gengar, Serperior, Thundurus, and Greninja, to name a few. Thick Fat gives Mamoswine a resistance to Ice, which is especially valuable when taking on Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========

With Choice Scarf, Mamoswine is a good surprise revenge killer against Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Garchomp. It is a great answer to Thundurus and can outspeed variants carrying Focus Blast that might expect to outspeed and KO it. This set is less bulky than other variants and doesn't have Focus Sash to make up for that, so it should be very wary when switching into most Pokemon. Hiding the fact that Mamoswine is carrying Choice Scarf can help gain an advantage, as can bringing in Mamoswine against naturally slower Pokemon such as Breloom and then surprising your opponent by outspeeding a faster Pokemon later in the game.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine works well on teams that are quite slow and need something fast to outspeed most of the metagame, and it's an especially good choice if you need something to deal with Pokemon such as Thundurus, Garchomp, and Mega Salamence. Thundurus is a good partner to help deal with bulky Water-types that Mamoswine will struggle with. Mega Salamence appreciates Mamoswine's ability to switch into Thundurus and outspeed and OHKO it.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Life Orb makes Mamoswine much stronger and helps it pick up more KOs, most notably on Aegislash. Choice Band can make Mamoswine a lot stronger, but one of Mamoswine's best features is its STAB combination that covers a lot of the metagame, so being locked into one attack often is not preferred. Lum Berry can help Mamoswine deal with burns, and this is especially useful against Mega Gengar. Freeze-Dry can be used to hit some Water-types, most notably Gyarados, Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Swampert. However, in order to deal a respectable amount of damage, you must run Life Orb with 36 Special Attack EVs to allow Mamoswine to 2HKO Rotom-W and Slowbro. Freeze-Dry hits Swampert for 4x super effective damage and prevents it from setting Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Cresselia**: Cresselia is immune to Earthquake and bulky enough to take on Mamoswine's other attacks. It can easily wear Mamoswine down and use Moonlight to restore off any damage taken. Toxic is the only way Mamoswine has a chance to beat Cresselia.

**Bulky Water-types**: Water-types such as Suicune, Mega Slowbro, Gyarados, and Azumarill are all bulky enough to take on Mamoswine's attacks and fire back with their super effective STAB moves. Scald is especially threatening because of its chance to burn.

**Mega Heracross**: Mega Heracross is bulky enough to take on Mamoswine and can OHKO back with Bullet Seed, even through Focus Sash.

**Rotom Formes**: Rotom-W and Rotom-H are both immune to Ground and resist Ice, making them great counters to Mamoswine. They can threaten with super effective attacks or Will-O-Wisp to lower Mamoswine's Attack.

**Talonflame**: Talonflame can outspeed and burn Mamoswine, leaving it near useless. It can use Roost to recover off any damage Mamoswine might have done. Without a Rock-type move, it's very difficult for Mamoswine to beat it, as Mamoswine needs to correctly predict Roost with Earthquake.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn only fears the rare Superpower from Mamoswine, and it can easily take any other attack and OHKO back with Gyro Ball.

**Skarmory**: Skarmory walls Mamoswine very well and can freely start setting up entry hazards against it or take it out with Iron Head.

**Mega Scizor**: Mega Scizor takes little from Mamoswine's attacks, can use Mamoswine as setup fodder, and threatens it with Bullet Punch.

**Mega Kangaskhan**: Mega Kangaskhan outspeeds non-Choice Scarf variants and can OHKO most Mamoswine even through Focus Sash. However, Kangaskhan has to watch out for Rocky Helmet sets.

**Gengar**: Gengar can burn Mamoswine with Will-O-Wisp, heavily crippling it. Gengar can also wait before Mega Evolving against Mamoswine in order to avoid super effective damage from Earthquake.

**Cresselia**: immune to eq and ice attacks dont do much damage. can easily stall mamo out. cant fissure, toxic varients help against cress

**Mega Heracross**: pretty bulky, can ohko even through sash variants with bullet seed

**Porygon2**: bulky enough to recover and stall out mamo, but watch out for fissure and toxic!

**Rotom-H**: immune to ground, resists ice. Wisp cripples mamo, overheat does a lot

**Talonflame**: immune to ground, wisps mamo and stalls it out. specify spdef variant here. offensive talon sets struggle with sash mamo But cant switch into spear when rocks are up

added in all this. will be waiting for more. :) although, i was kinda confused with what you were saying with talon. cause it doesnt need to be a spdef talon to beat mamo, all it needs is wisp(which is run on a variety of talons, not just spdef). so i just mentioned sets without wisp, not specifically spdef

cant say

[OVERVIEW]

-good offensive check (Ice/Ground is kinda shit defensively) to many common pokemon in the meta. such as pokemon 4x weak to mamos ice stab, garchomp, lando-t, mence. and steel types such as aegislash hmmm this can be a tricky matchup for Mamo, if at full health Aegi usually wins and heatran, weak to stab eq. and eletric types such as thundurus sorta like Aegi, I guess good players will win against these guys, raikou and zapdos, weak to either of mamo's STABs and mamo is immune to electric and thanks to thick fat can take their hp ice's
-has a stab combination thats fairly hard to switch into because it covers a lot at least neutrally
-can use fissure to break through defensive pokemon it would otherwise have trouble dealing with
-not the greatest speed, being outsped by pokemon such as mega kanga, charizard, volcarona, gengar, lucario, greninja.
-can be dealt with by some common pokemon such as suicune, cresselia, rotom-w
- I would add that Thick Fat is a good ability for Mamo coz it means it gets all the offensive perks of being an ice type without being so weak to Fire, and offsets the neutrality to Ice that a secondary Ground-typing would do otherwise
- gets plenty of mileage out of 2-3 moveslots so it doesn't suffer from the dreaded 4mss and allows him to fit Stealth Rock on sets way esier than other mons (which is good coz Stealth Rock isn't always needed here but you aren't wasting a moveslot for it ya know)

[SET] Should this really be the first set? I thought the Sash lead set would be better as the first set...

Moves
========

-eq is stab, solid move hits what
-ice shard priority good for what
-icicle spear stab, breaks through focush sash and subs any notable mons that use those?
-fissure, ohko move deals with defensive pokemon hard to break through like?. with av mamo can tank some hits to fire off more fissures leave this mention for set details
-knock off can cripple p2, pokemon with lefties, scarf, other useful items

Set Details
========

-16n-1 hp
-max spdef
-outspeeds 4 speed suicune
-rest into attack, attack conveniently hits the "bump" what's that? asking for a friend newbs who might read this
-av lets mamo take on most importantly electric types(thundurus) very well, and other special attackers like p2, aegislash, heatran. the extra bulk from av helps mamo use fissure more times if it needs to
- why adamant instead of careful?

Usage Tips
========

-great answer to thundurus, immune to twave, and is immune/resists hp ice and tbolt switch the order of these since you said immune/resists. has to watch out for f blast and grass knot but with av can live both.
-takes on some defensive pokemon with fissure, can use av to tank some hits and try to get ohko on mons like p2, chansey, even bulky waters for a few turns like suicune
-can revenge kill a good amount of pokemon in the meta thanks to its nice stab coverage, such as garchomp, lando-t, mence, aegislash, raikou.
-physical bulk isnt amazing so mamo normally shouldnt switch in directly against most physical attackers but can normally switch in against most special attackers.

Team Options
========

-mega salamence is a nice partner as mamo can switch into thundurus, a big nuisance to mence, very well nitpicky, but that makes Mamo a good partner to Mence, not Mence to Mamo
-suicune is good cause mamo can switch into electric types for it, and helmet suicune can deal with kanga, which mamo struggles with
-thundurus can deal with bulky waters like suicune and slowbro that mamo normally has trouble dealing with. can muscle past rotom-w with nasty plot. mamo also appreciates the para support that thund provides cause its kinda slow mamo can switch into some ice attacks for thund too
-serp can deal with suicune and other water types like rotom-w and azu. can glare things so mamo outspeeds. mamo can deal with thundurus for serp.
-talonflame likes mamo as teammate cause it can deal with thundurus and lando-t and garchomp, which usually deal with tflame with helmet/skin and rock moves.
I read all your TO sections and they're just CPs of this. apart fromt he scarf set, do the other others sets appreciate different support?
Gengar is Mamo's no.1 teammate on the PGL yet no mention of him?

-icicle spear stab, breaks through subs n sash, gives mamo an edge over other sash leads } make sure you're specific about the details when you write this up like I said in the AV set
-stealth rocks help get chip damage for team, with sash mamo can reliably set rocks against most things
-fissure can be used to deal with some defensive mons like p2, ferrothorn. sash guarantees you get at least 2 tries to hit fissure
-endeavor works well with focus sash to cripple something heavily after being brought down to sash

Set Details
========

-max atk max spe cause hit fast & hard, outspeed breloom
-sash allows mamo to invest in speed and atk, it uses sash to make up for its lack of defensive investment

Usage Tips
========

-reliable lead thanks to sash. can set up rocks reliably if necessary. with sash its hard for some pokemon to deal with it, especially with ice shard it can guarantee at least two hits off on anything.
-its also a great revenge killer thanks to sash, it can live any hit and try to ohko or 2hko with ice shard. can revengekill pokemon such as mega mence, garchomp, blaziken, and thundurus
-also can be used a good stop to thundurus, mainly switching into thunder waves so thundurus doesn't cripple your sweeper or any other pokemon that needs its speed such as mega salamence or blaziken

Team Options
========
-mega salamence is a nice partner as mamo can switch into thundurus, a big nuisance to mence, very well. mence also really likes rock support to aid its sweep with the chip damage

Moves

-eq stab
-ice shard priority, makes up for lower speed investment
-rocks help get chip damage for team, mamo is bulky enough to set rocks reliably
-toxic helps wear down defensive pokemon and talonflame
-icicle spear and knock off can be used if you feel you dont need the other moves listed. knock off helps cripples things like p2, lefties pokemon, and rocky helmet pokemon. icicle spear is stab, stronger than shard.

Set Details
========

-impish max def to take on strong attackers like megamence and megakan
-helmet gets more chip damage on kanga cause of p bond and pokemon with recoil moves like mence, blaziken, tflame

Usage Tips
========

-if you need a mon to deal with thundurus and physical attackers like kan, mence, helmet mamo is a good option
-can withstand fake out+double edge from kanga and take it out after earthquake/helmet damage
-should be used to switch in to thunder waves so teammates like mega salamence and blaziken dont get crippled
-can be used as a dedicated counter to garchomp, can take its hits and dish out 4x damage back

move 4: Fissure / Knock Off / Superpower / Rock Slide again, is Fissure really the best first slash? Maybe Rock Slide? Too many slashed in general, since they're the same ones, maybe only have them slashed in the fourth slot or have some in the third slot and some in the fourth to condense it down?

Moves
========

-eq is stab
-ice shard priority why priority on a scarf set?
-icicle spear stab, breaks through focush sash and subs
-fissure, ohko move deals with defensive pokemon hard to break through, normally only used when in a pinch or what is a fast Fissure hitting?
-knock off can cripple things, p2, chansey, leftovers, etc
-superpower can do decent damage to ferrothorn, kanga, other mamos
-rock slide hits talonflame and charizard y cause they're kinda hard to deal with otherwise

Set Details
========

-max atk max spe, outspeed adamant scarf lando-t and megagenga Jolly is good for Lando-T but you outspeed Mence with Adamant yourself so maybe say that Jolly is specifically for Lando-T?
-scarf allows mamo to outspeed many fast pokemon in metagame such as mega gengar, serperior, thundurus, landorus-t, garchomp, DD dragonite, greninja and more, being able to revengekill them

Usage Tips
========

-good surprise revenge killer to things like mega gengar, garchomp, other fast pokemon that are weakened for mamo
-great answer to thundurus and can outspeed variants with focus blast when they might expect to outspeed you
-less bulky than other mamo variants so cant come in on powerful attackers like mega kanga unless they're in ko range

Team Options
========

-slower balanced teams can make good use of mamoswine if they need a scarfer to outspeed pokemon the rest of the team wouldnt. especially good if the team is struggling with pokemon such as thundurus, garchomp, lando-t.
-suicune likes having mamo around to switch into thundurus and suicune can deal with kanga and blaziken for mamoswine.
-mega salamence is a nice partner as mamo can switch into thundurus, a big nuisance to mence, very well.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

-life orb, makes mamo really strong. picks up more kos, most notably aegi
-choice band, makes mamo really really strong. locked in one move tho, which sucks against teams with flying types and steel types.
-lum berry, take a burn. pretty situational though
-icicle crash, more reliable damage but cant break sashes
-rock tomb/rock slide, hits tflame. rock tomb can lower speed thats cool I thought we'd see this slashed on the AV or RH set tbh
-freeze dry, hits water types, most notably regular gyarados, rotom-w, and slowbro. needs to run life orb, with 36 spa EVs can 2hko rotom and slowbro on the switch.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Cresselia**: immune to eq and ice attacks dont do much damage. can easily stall mamo out. cant fissure, toxic varients help against cress

**Bulky Water-types**: Suicune, Rotom-W, Mega Slowbro, Gyarados + Azumarill. bulk enough to take EQs and hit back with super effective STABs.

**Mega Heracross**: pretty bulky, can ohko even through sash variants with bullet seed

**Porygon2**: bulky enough to recover and stall out mamo, but watch out for fissure and toxic!

**Rotom-H**: immune to ground, resists ice. Wisp cripples mamo, overheat does a lot what sets him apart from Rotom-W? Hydro Pump is worse for you than Overheat. Maybe Rotom-W can be moved out of Water-types and combine with this one?

**Talonflame**: immune to ground, wisps mamo and stalls it out. But, cant switch into spear when rocks are up, and sets without wisp struggle against sash mamo

Maybe Greninja? really solid revenge killer. Aegi 5th in killers on the PGL, not really a check or counter coz it can't switch, but in a lead matchup or revenge situation where it's at full health it wins

Few comments on the above edits and in general
- I actually think Mamoswine has some 4MSS. Don't get me wrong his STABs are nice but when you want to decide whether to have a reliable damage ice move/a way to destroy rotom-h volc talonflame/stealth rock/knock off/fissure/toxic for the last slot you can very easily run into issues.
- Icicle Crash should probably be slashed somewhere in Scarf because you can make good use of the flinch chance and because reliability is nice to have on a scarfer.
- Jolly Scarf Mamo crucially outspeeds Mega Gengar.
- Add Ferrothorn to checks. It only fears the rare Superpower and can just dumpster Mamo in general. Mega Scizor destroys Mamo even harder and Skarmory just walls Mamo to infinity.
- Add Mega Kanga to checks because Kanga can OHKO Mamo through Focus Sash with Double Edge. Mega Lopunny can also antilead Mamo.
- I think Gengar is an okay check to Mamoswine too. You switch it into EQ, Wisp Mamo, then Mega evolve and finish it off with Hex. Or just don't mega evolve and watch Mamo try to predict your Mega and fail the Earthquake (do this if you suspect them having Assault Vest).

yeah about the really similar TO's, i just couldnt really think of super different to's cause mamo's role still feels really similar to me throughout the sets, like its checking the same kind of stuff just in different ways and sometimes checking a few more things with certain sets. idk. i will mention mega gengar though. if anyone can help out on how the TO's should look different in the sets that'd be helpful.

oh and i put av first cause ive thought for a while it was the best even tho its not the most common(steadily on the rise though). if you guys think otherwise i'm fine with swapping sash to the front

will be implementing your and jibakus input soon

ok implemented pretty much everything except like i said earlier i still dont really know how i should differentiate the team options. will try to brainstorm later on.

It's time to QC check this! I don't really have much to add though.

Overview

-I'd mention that Mamoswine is surprisingly versatile. It's totally possible to lose because you guessed the wrong Mamoswine. Sorta like what Garchomp does, but to a lesser extent imo.

Sash set

-In usage tips, I'd mention that common leads to look for in team preview for Mamoswine to smack include Garchomp and Breloom (btw just a note: You can actually fail to OHKO Breloom if Icicle Spear only hits twice!).

-I'd mention that while Mamoswine is a great lead, its also such a common one that people prepare for it, so leading with something out to beat Mamoswine's checks can be a fairly effective (if risky) way of punishing your opponent.

-In team options, mention that anything that benefits from having Talonflame stealth rocked is gonna really like Mamoswine's support. You already mention Blaziken, but I'd also mention Serperior, who as a bonus, helps out against Rotom-W.

Choice Scarf

In usage tips, I'd mention trying to hide that Mamoswine has Choice Scarf, by trying to take out threats its already naturally faster than such as Breloom. This way, a lot of people just think its the Focus Sash set, and it can get a surprise KO on a threat that wasn't expecting it to be so fast!

Other Options

I'd mention that Freeze Dry also hits Swampert for 4x, which can be handy since a lot of teams that use Swampert to set up Stealth Rock will lead with it if they see Mamoswine in team preview.

Otherwise, you mostly get makes Mamoswine tick so...

[OVERVIEW]

Many Pokemon in Battle Spot Singles fear the sight of Mamoswine. Mamoswine is a It's a great check to many common Pokemon such as including Pokemon 4x weak to Ice such as Garchomp and Mega Salamence, both of which are 4x weak to Ice;, [First sentence was redundant much and just moved some parts of the sentence here; sounds much better imo] Steel-types such as Heatran, and Electric-types such as Thundurus and Zapdos. Mamoswine has a STAB combination in Ground and Ice [I assume this is what you meant] that is very hard to switch into because it hits many Pokemon at least neutrally. Normally Most Ice-types are only severely hindered by their typing, but Mamoswine can make good use of its Ground[space]/[space]Ice typing along with Thick Fat, offsetting its Fire weakness and Ice neutrality,. Its typing also gives giving Mamoswine an immunity and resist to the famous BoltBeam combination that many Electric-types carry. Mamoswine also has other useful moves [Considering the two "tools" you mention are moves] tools, such as the always handy Stealth Rock and Fissure to deal with defensive Pokemon it can't couldn't break through otherwise. Mamoswine is also very versatile and when facing it, predicting the wrong set [Are you talking about an opposing Mamoswine here? If so, remove this part] can potentially cost you the game. One of Mamoswine's biggest downsides is its mediocre Speed, leaving it being outsped by Pokemon such as [Which form -->] Mega Charizard, Mega Kangaskhan, [ac] and Gengar. Mamoswine also has very common hard counters such as Cresselia, Rotom-W, [ac] and Suicune. These Pokemon can freely switch into Mamoswine and there's not much it can do to punish them.

Moves

Earthquake is Mamoswine's strongest STAB move and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Aegislash and Mega Gengar. Ice Shard is a fantastic move for picking off weakened foes that who would outspeed it ["You" refers to the trainer] you otherwise. Icicle Spear is another [Subjective] good STAB move that's very useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash, giving Mamoswine an edge over other Focus Sash leads such as Breloom and Garchomp. Stealth Rock is useful for getting some chip damage on Pokemon, and with Focus Sash, [ac] Mamoswine can reliably set Stealth Rock if you need it to. Endeavor is a nice option to heavily cripple something after Mamoswine has it's been brought down to its Focus Sash. Fissure can be used to deal with some defensive Pokemon that are tough for Mamoswine to break through., and although the low accuracy may seem like a big risk, but Focus Sash guarantees you'll [Are you speaking about the trainer or Mamoswine here? If the latter, change "you'll" to "it'll"] have at least two attempts to hit Fissure.

Set Details

Maximum Attack and Speed investment is used, as [Subjective but "as" sounds more right here] because with Focus Sash investing in bulk isn't necessary. Maximum Speed is important to ensure Mamoswine outspeeds Breloom and takes it out with Icicle Spear. Focus Sash makes Mamoswine a great lead and revenge killer, and being able to take big hits and retaliate back with its own. Thick Fat increases Mamoswine's defensive capabilities, helping it take on the popular BoltBeam combination often used on Pokemon such as Thundurus and Zapdos.

Usage Tips
========
[add space]
Mamoswine is a very nice lead thanks to Focus Sash. and It can reliably set up Stealth Rock if necessary. With Focus Sash, [ac] dealing with Mamoswine is rather troublesome, as it becomes troublesome for a lot of Pokemon to deal with Mamoswine. it can live most hits and attack [To prevent same use of "hit"] hit back with its strong STABs and priority moves. Common leads for Mamoswine to take on include Garchomp and Breloom, though if Icicle Spear gets only two hits it won't be able to KO Breloom. However, since Mamoswine is such a common lead, leading with something to beat Mamoswine checks can be an effective way to punish your opponent. It also works as a good revenge killer, and it does especially well against common sweepers such as Mega Salamence, Garchomp, and Blaziken. It can live strong attacks and attempt to OHKO back or 2HKO with help from Ice Shard. Mamoswine also works great as a Thundurus check. Thundurus has become a staple Pokemon in the metagame and Mamoswine takes it on very well, and being is able to switch into Thunder Waves and other common attacks from Thundurus. Pokemon that are terrified of Talonflame appreciate having Stealth Rock that Mamoswine can provide. Serperior, for example, has an easy easier time with Talonflame weakened or taken out, and can deal with Rotom-W for Mamoswine.

Team Options
========
[add space]
Mamoswine's reliability as a Stealth Rock setter and Thundurus check make it a beneficial teammate for set[remove space]up sweepers. Most set[remove space]up sweepers really appreciate the the chip damage from Stealth Rock and having a teammate that can switch into Thunder Wave fairly easily. Pokemon such as Mega Salamence, Mega Charizard X, and Blaziken all appreciate having Mamoswine on their team. Thundurus can deal with bulky Water-types that Mamoswine often struggles with., and can also provide Thunder Wave support to make up for Mamoswine's below average Speed tier. Because of Mamoswine's below average Speed tier, it appreciates the Thunder Wave support that Thundurus can provide. Talonflame appreciates likes Mamoswine as a teammate because it can deal with Pokemon that often give Talonflame trouble, such as Thundurus, Garchomp, and Landorus-T.

Moves
========

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move. Ice Shard offers priority, which is good because this set has minimal Speed investment doesn't have much Speed investment. It's very useful for picking off faster, weakened foes. Icicle Spear is a good STAB move that is useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash. It hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Garchomp, Thundurus, and Mega Salamence. Fissure helps Mamoswine break through defensive Pokemon such as Suicune and Porygon2. With Assault Vest it can withstand a lot of attacks, allowing a lot of turns to attempt to hit Fissure. Knock Off is a nice option for taking away Sitrus Berry recovery [from?] removing Berries such as Sitrus Berry to prevent recovery and crippling Pokemon relying on items such as Eviolite and Choice Scarf. Rock Tomb can be useful for hitting Talonflame which who can wall Mamoswine quite well otherwise. It also lowers Speed which can be especially nice when you predict something faster to switch in.

Set Details

An Adamant nature is used so that Mamoswine still has a good offensive presence. The HP EVs hit a 16n-1 [Rather technical, can't you just change this to "hits a <burn/leftovers/stealth rock/whatever number so that..."? It still sounds weird but right now, it sounds weirder] number so that Mamoswine takes less damage from burns and other residual damage. Maximum Special Defense investment is used to increase the utility of Assault Vest as much as possible. The Speed investment is enough for Mamoswine to outspeed most Suicune variants s. The remaining EVs are were all put into Attack to increase Mamoswine's damage output. Assault Vest, most importantly, helps Mamoswine take on Electric-types such as Thundurus very well. It's also very nice against other special attackers such as Porygon2, Aegislash, [ac] and Heatran.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine works as a great answer to Thundurus, as it is immune to Thunderbolt and resists Hidden Power Ice, Thundurus's most common moves. The only moves it has to watch out for are It only has to watch out for Focus Blast and Grass Knot from opposing Thundurus, but and thanks to Assault Vest, [ac] it can live both. Mamoswine can take on a lot of defensive Pokemon very well with Fissure. Assault Vest allows Mamoswine to take a lot of attacks from pPokemon such as Porygon2 and even Ddefensive Suicune, allowing it more turns to attempt to hit Fissure. It can revenge kill a good amount of Pokemon in the metagame thanks to its nice STAB coverage, such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, Mega Salamenceemnce, Raikou and weakened Aegislash. Mamoswine can switch in against most special attackers, but its physical bulk isn't very impressive and thus it shouldn't switch directly in to most physical attacks.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine is a nice partner for Mega Salamence as it can consistently switch into Thundurus, a big nuisance to Mega Salamence, consistently thanks to the Special Defense boost from Assault Vest. With Assault Vest, [ac] Mamoswine can often deal with Pokemon that would normally take it on easily, such as Suicune and Porygon2. If it can manage to get off a Fissure at on them, it's very beneficial to offensive Pokemon such as Blaziken, Mega Kangaskhan and Talonflame. Suicune appreciates Mamoswine's ability to consistently switch into Electric-types. , Aand if holding a Rocky Helmet, Suicune can handle Mega Kangaskhan which Mamoswine normally struggles against. Serperior can deal with Water-types such as Rotom-W that Mamoswine struggles with, and can Glare fast threats so Mamoswine can outspeed them. Mamoswine also handles Thundurus well, making things much easier for Serperior. Mega Gengar can trap and beat some Pokemon that threaten Mamoswine such as Megas Kangaskhan and Cresselia.

Ice Shard gives Mamoswine priority, helping to make up for the low Speed investment and hits many pPokemon super effectively such as Thundurus and Mega Salamence. Stealth Rock helps get chip damage and breaks Focus Sash. With the bulk on this set, [ac] Mamoswine can often set Stealth Rock reliably. Toxic helps wear down many of Mamoswine's common switch-ins such as Cresselia and Rotom-W. Icicle Spear is a nice option if you want another stronger Ice STAB move. Knock Off offers nice utility in taking out the foes item which may often be crucial to their game plan. Rock Tomb allows Mamoswine to hit Talonflame, and the Speed drops may often be useful. Fissure helps Mamoswine take out some defensive Pokemon that it might struggle with that aren't bothered as much by Toxic, such as Rest Suicune and Chansey with Natural Cure.

An
Impish nature with maximum investment in HP and Defense is used to take on strong attackers like Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Salamence. Maximum investment is needed to ensure the best chance of living a Double Edge from +1 Mega Salamence. Rocky Helmet allows Mamoswine to get a lot of damage on Mega Kangaskhan because of Parental Bond and other Pokemon with recoil moves such as Blaziken, Mega Salamence, and Talonflame. Thick Fat helps Mamoswine easily take Ice-type attacks, making it a very consistent switch in to Electric-types such as Thundurus.

Usage Tips

If you need a Pokemon that can deal with physical attackers like Mega Salamence and Kangaskhan, but also need a Thundurus check, Rocky Helmet Mamoswine is a good option. Mamoswine can withstand Fake Out and Double Edge from Mega Kangaskhan and take it out after Rocky Helmet damage combined with Earthquake. However, Mamoswine often should not be switched directly into Kangaskhan because it can be 2HKO'ed.

Blaziken especially appreciates this bulky Mamoswine as a partner. With the defensive investment, [ac] Mamoswine can take on some big checks to Blaziken such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, and Thundurus. Icicle Crash can be used instead if you want a more consistent damage output,; it also has have a nice chance to flinch which is especially useful with Choice Scarf boosting Mamoswine's Speed. Superpower offers nice coverage on Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Kangaskhan, [ac] and other Mamoswine. Rock Slide OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y which may be hard for Mamoswine to take on otherwise. Fissure can be used when predicting defensive Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Suicune switching in. It can also be used as a last resort when in a pinch. Knock Off can be used as it offers nice utility, taking out removing your foes item. Ice Shard may be useful in situations against priority users.

Maximum Speed is important to outspeed Mega Gengar and Adamant Scarf Landorus-T. The remaining EVs are used in Attack to allow Mamoswine to do as much damage as possible. Choice Scarf allows Mamoswine to outspeed many Pokemon it wouldn't otherwise; such as Mega Gengar, Serperior, Thundurus, and Greninja to name a few and many more. Thick Fat gives Mamoswine a pseudo-resistance to Ice which is that's especially valuable when taking on Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========
[add space]
With Choice Scarf, Mamoswine is a good surprise revenge killer against Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Garchomp. It is a great answer to Thundurus and can outspeed variants carrying Focus Blast that might expect to outspeed and KO. This set is less bulky than other variants and doesn't have Focus Sash to make up for that, so it should be very wary when switching into most Pokemon. Hiding the fact that Mamoswine is carrying Choice Scarf can help gain an advantage, as can bringing in Mamoswine against naturally slower Pokemon such as Breloom, then surprising your opponent by outspeeding a faster Pokemon later in the game.

Balanced [Pokemon? ->] teams that are quite slow can make good use of Choice Scarf Mamoswine if they need something fast to outspeed most of the metagame, and it's an especially good choice if you need something to deal with Pokemon such as Thundurus, Garchompb, [add comma] or Mega Saleamence. Thundurus is a good partner to help deal with bulky Water-types that Mamoswine will struggle with. Mega Saleamence appreciates Mamoswine's ability to switch into Thundurus and outspeed and OHKO it.

Life Orb makes Mamoswine much stronger and picks up more KOs, most notably on Aegislash. Choice Band can make Mamoswine a lot stronger, but one of Mamoswine's best features is its STAB combination that covers a lot of the metagame, so being locked into locking to one attack often is not [Spoke to bobochan about this on PS!, we both think this word was missed out] preferred. Lum Berry can help Mamoswine deal with burns, and this is especially useful against Mega Gengar. Icicle Crash can be used over Icicle Spear if you prefer a more consistent damage output, but the pros of Icicle Spear often outweigh its somewhat inconsistent damage output. [Mentioned as alternative in moves, this section is for moves/items/spreads/whatever that weren't mentioned in the analysis more or less] Freeze Dry can be used to hit some Water-types, most notably non-Mega [It's always gonna be Gyarados unless you put "Mega" before it] Gyarados, Rotom-W, Slowbro, [ac] and Swampert. However, in order to deal a respectable amount of damage, you must run Life Orb for Freeze Dry to deal a respectable amount of damage, with 36 Special Attack EVs so that Mamoswine can 2HKO Rotom-W and Slowbro with Freeze Dry [Something is still strange in this sentence, I think my changes didn't really help that much, perhaps end at "Attack EVs" and then start a new sentence with "This 2HKOes..."]. Swamperts will often lead to get up Stealth Rock and normally have a good matchup against Mamoswine, but Freeze Dry will stop them from getting anything done.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Cresselia**: Cresselia is immune to Earthquake and bulky enough to take on Mamoswine's other attacks. It can easily wear Mamoswine down and use Moonlight to restore off any damage taken [Not sure how Moonlight helps Cresselia take Mamo on, I'm assuming you meant this; if you did, keep this change but if not, feel free to keep it as it was] ensure it can take it on.

They can threaten with super effective attacks or Will-O-Wisp to lower cripple Mamoswine's Attack.

**Talonflame**: Talonflame can outspeed and Will-O-Wisp Mamoswine, leaving making it near useless,. [To prevent there from being a huge multitude of commas] It can and use Roost to recover off any damage Mamoswine might have done. Without a Rock-type move, [ac] it's very difficult for Mamoswine to beat it, and it needs to correctly predict Roosts with Earthquake.

**Ferrothorn**: Ferrothorn only fears the rare Superpower from Mamoswine, and it can easily take any other attack and OHKO back with Gyro Ball.

**Skarmory**: Skarmory walls Mamoswine very well and can freely start setting up hazards against it or take it out with Iron Head.

**Mega Scizor**: Mega Scizor takes little from Mamoswine's attacks and cane use Mamoswine as set up fodder and threatens it with Bullette Punch.

**Mega Kangaskhan**: Mega Kangaskhan outspeeds non-Choice Scarf variants and can OHKO most Mamoswine even through Focus Sash. However, Kangaskhan has to watch out for Rocky Helmet sets.

**Gengar**: Gengar can Will-O-Wisp Mamoswine, heavily crippling it. Gengar can also wait before Mega Evolving against Mamoswine in order to avoid super effective damage from Earthquake.
It was actually written quite well, some subjective changes here and there but mostly objective ones; just remember to capitalize the beginning letter of each stat bar health, and you'll be fine.

okay, implemented your check for the most

Q's about some of the queries,

Mamoswine is also very versatile and when facing it, predicting the wrong set [Are you talking about an opposing Mamoswine here? If so, remove this part] can potentially cost you the game.
I changed it so that it isn't talking about opposing Mamoswine, is this okay?
Mamoswine is also very versatile and predicting the wrong set can potentially cost your opponent the game.

If something needs to be changed in this or if it still needs to be removed entirely let me know.

[Which form -->]Mega Charizard,
I was talking about both cause the have the same speed. I changed it to "Mega Charizard X and Y". Is this okay?

The HP EVs hit a 16n-1[Rather technical, can't you just change this to "hits a <burn/leftovers/stealth rock/whatever number so that..."? It still sounds weird but right now, it sounds weirder] number so that Mamoswine takes less damage from burns and other residual damage
changed this to "The HP EVs hit a number that minimizes damage from burns, Rocky Helmet, poison and other residual damage." How's this sound?

Balanced [Pokemon? ->]teams that are quite slow can make good use of Choice Scarf Mamoswine if they need something fast to outspeed most of the metagame
I meant like a whole team, not pokemon. Like if the team has a lot of slow pokemon on it, a scarfer would be nice. Is there a better way to word it?

reasoning this was taken out entirely? Is there a better way i can word it to keep it in or does it have to be taken out? For reference, that was something from a QC check from tmon that I tried to fit in:
I'd mention that Freeze Dry also hits Swampert for 4x, which can be handy since a lot of teams that use Swampert to set up Stealth Rock will lead with it if they see Mamoswine in team preview.

okie

  1. "Mamoswine is also very versatile and predicting the wrong set can potentially cost your opponent the game" - I may be misinterpreting this, but what's the need to say this sentence if it's talking about your opponent? I get the first part, but imo the second part from "predicting the wrong set" is unnecessary because the reader doesn't really care about the opponent and if they lose.
  2. yea Mega Charizard X and Y is good
  3. good just remember the serial comma before the final "and"
  4. [Balanced teams that are quite slow can make good use of Choice Scarf Mamoswine if they need something fast to outspeed most of the metagame] should probably be changed to [Mamoswine works well on teams that are quite slow and need something fast to outspeed most of the metagame] then because it's more directly about Mamoswine being a good partner rather than balanced teams requiring Mamoswine.
  5. seems fine imo, "This allows Mamoswine to 2HKOes Rotom-W and Slowbro with Freeze Dry."
  6. ah right. I took it out because ideally alternative moves/items/spreads should be mentioned in that sentence and the first part didn't really add anything of that sort, perhaps change it to "Freeze-Dry hits Swampert for 4x super effective damage and prevents it from setting Stealth Rock" rather than the original because the focus of that sentence is on Swampert leading to set Stealth Rock and the reader doesn't really need to know that, they just need to know that Freeze-Dry hits it super effectively really.. oo and I didn't notice this but Freeze-Dry > Freeze Dry :o

btw you don't have to implement all of these if you're unsure about 'em :]

i'll just quote the QC check that told me to implement this, i was trying to put it in my own words but maybe you'll understand it better from the orginal text from tmon:

-I'd mention that Mamoswine is surprisingly versatile. It's totally possible to lose because you guessed the wrong Mamoswine. Sorta like what Garchomp does, but to a lesser extent imo.
I dont get why you cant talk a bit about your opponent. Understanding how they can lose will be beneficial to you, no?

spoke to Snobalt about this, might be better off rephrasing it to "If your opponent predicts the wrong set, it can potentially cost them the game."

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great check to many common Pokemon such as Garchomp and Mega Salamence, both of which are 4x weak to Ice; Steel-types such as Heatran; (SC) and Electric-types such as Thundurus and Zapdos. Mamoswine has a Its Ground / Ice STAB combination in Ground and Ice that is very hard to switch into in general because it hits many Pokemon at least neutrally. Most Ice-types are severely hindered by their typing, but Mamoswine can make good use of its Ground / Ice typing along with Thick Fat, offsetting its Fire weakness and Ice neutrality. Its typing also gives Mamoswine and giving it an immunity and resistance to the famous BoltBeam combination that many Electric-types carry. Mamoswine also has other useful moves, such as the always handy Stealth Rock and Fissure to deal with defensive Pokemon it can't break through otherwise. These Pokemon can freely switch into Mamoswine, (AC) and there's not much it can do to punish them.

Moves
========

Earthquake is Mamoswine's strongest STAB move and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Aegislash and Mega Gengar. Ice Shard is a fantastic move for picking off weakened foes that would outspeed it Mamoswine otherwise. Icicle Spear is another good STAB move that's very useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash, giving Mamoswine an edge over other Focus Sash leads such as Breloom and Garchomp. Stealth Rock is useful for getting some chip damage on Pokemon, and with Focus Sash, Mamoswine can reliably set it Stealth Rock if you need it to. Endeavor is a nice option to heavily cripple something after Mamoswine has been brought down to its Focus Sash. Fissure can be used to deal with some defensive Pokemon that are tough for Mamoswine to break through, and although the low accuracy may seem like a big risk, Focus Sash guarantees it'll have at least two attempts to hit Fissure.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment is used preferred, as with Focus Sash investing in bulk isn't necessary. Maximum Speed is important to ensure Mamoswine outspeeds Breloom and takes it out with Icicle Spear. Focus Sash makes Mamoswine a great lead and revenge killer and able to take big hits and retaliate back with its own. Thick Fat increases Mamoswine's defensive capabilities, helping it take on the popular BoltBeam combination often used on Pokemon such as Thundurus and Zapdos.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine is a very nice lead thanks to Focus Sash and can reliably set up Stealth Rock if necessary. With Focus Sash, dealing with Mamoswine is rather troublesome, as it can live survive most hits and attack back with its strong STAB and priority moves. Common leads for Mamoswine to take on include Garchomp and Breloom, though if Icicle Spear gets only two hits it won't be able to KO Breloom with only two hits. However, since Mamoswine is such a common lead, leading with something to beat Mamoswine checks can be an effective way to punish your opponent. It also works as a good revenge killer, and it does especially well against common sweepers such as Mega Salamence, Garchomp, and Blaziken. It can live survive strong attacks and attempt to OHKO back or 2HKO with help from Ice Shard. Mamoswine also works great as a Thundurus check. Mamoswine takes it on very well and is able to switch into Thunder Wave and other common attacks from Thundurus. Pokemon that are terrified of Talonflame appreciate having Stealth Rock that Mamoswine can provide. Serperior, for example, has an easy time with Talonflame weakened or taken out (RC) and can deal with Rotom-W for Mamoswine.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine's reliability as a Stealth Rock setter and Thundurus check make makes it a beneficial teammate for setup sweepers. Most setup sweepers really appreciate the the chip damage from Stealth Rock and having a teammate that can Mamoswine's ability to switch into Thunder Wave fairly easily. Pokemon such as Mega Salamence, Mega Charizard X, and Blaziken all appreciate having Mamoswine on their team. Thundurus can deal with bulky Water-types that Mamoswine often struggles with (RC) and can also provide Thunder Wave support to make up for Mamoswine's below average Speed tier. Talonflame appreciates Mamoswine as a teammate because it can deal with Pokemon that often give Talonflame trouble, such as Thundurus, Garchomp, and Landorus-T.

Moves

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move. Ice Shard offers priority, which is good because makes up for this set's has minimal Speed investment. It's and is very useful for picking off faster, weakened foes. Icicle Spear is a good STAB move that is useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash. It and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Garchomp, Thundurus, and Mega Salamence. Fissure helps Mamoswine break through defensive Pokemon such as Suicune and Porygon2. With Assault Vest it can withstand a lot of attacks, allowing providing a lot of turns to attempt to hit Fissure. Knock Off is a nice option for removing items such as Sitrus Berry to prevent recovery and crippling Pokemon relying on items such as Eviolite and Choice Scarf. Rock Tomb can be useful for hitting Talonflame, (AC) which can wall Mamoswine quite well otherwise. It also lowers Speed, (AC) which can be especially nice when you predict something faster to switch in.

Set Details
========

An Adamant nature is used so that Mamoswine still has a good offensive presence. The HP EVs hit a number that minimizes damage from burns, Rocky Helmet, poison, and other residual damage.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine works as a great answer to Thundurus, as it is immune to Thunderbolt and resists Hidden Power Ice, Thundurus's most common moves. The only moves it has to watch out for are Focus Blast and Grass Knot, but thanks to Assault Vest, it can live survive both. Mamoswine can take on a lot of defensive Pokemon very well with Fissure. Assault Vest allows Mamoswine to take a lot of attacks from Pokemon such as Porygon2 and even defensive Suicune, allowing granting it more turns to attempt to hit Fissure. It can revenge kill a good amount number of Pokemon in the metagame thanks to its nice STAB coverage, such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, Raikou, (AC) and weakened Aegislash. Mamoswine can switch in against most special attackers, but its physical bulk isn't very impressive and thus it shouldn't switch directly in to most physical attacks.

Team Options
========

Mamoswine is a nice partner for Mega Salamence, (AC) as it can consistently switch into Thundurus, a big nuisance to Mega Salamence, (repetitive + basically implied) thanks to the Special Defense boost from Assault Vest. With Assault Vest, Mamoswine can often deal with Pokemon that would normally take it on easily, such as Suicune and Porygon2, (comma) If it can manage to get off a and removing them via Fissure at them, it's is very beneficial to offensive Pokemon such as Blaziken, Mega Kangaskhan and Talonflame. Suicune appreciates Mamoswine's ability to consistently switch into Electric-types, and if holding a Rocky Helmet, Suicune can handle Mega Kangaskhan, (AC) which Mamoswine normally struggles against. Serperior can deal with Water-types such as Rotom-W that Mamoswine struggles with (RC) and can Glare paralyze fast threats so Mamoswine can outspeed them. Mamoswine also handles Thundurus well, making things much easier for Serperior. Mega Gengar can trap and beat some Pokemon that threaten Mamoswine such as Mega Kangaskhan and Cresselia.

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move, and it's useful for hitting Pokemon such as Mega Gengar and Heatran super effectively. Ice Shard gives Mamoswine priority, helping to make up for the low Speed investment, (AC) and hits many Pokemon super effectively, (AC) such as Thundurus and Mega Salamence. Stealth Rock helps get chip damage and breaks Focus Sash. With the bulk on this set, Mamoswine can often set Stealth Rock reliably. Toxic helps wear down many of Mamoswine's common switch-ins such as Cresselia and Rotom-W. Icicle Spear is a nice option if you want another stronger Ice STAB move. Knock Off offers nice utility in taking out the foe's (apo) item which may often be crucial to their game plan.

Set Details
========

An Impish nature with maximum investment in HP and Defense is used to take on strong attackers like Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Salamence. Maximum investment is needed to ensure the best chance of living surviving a Double Edge from +1 Mega Salamence. Rocky Helmet allows Mamoswine get a lot of damage on Mega Kangaskhan because of Parental Bond and other Pokemon with recoil moves such as Blaziken, Mega Salamence, and Talonflame. Thick Fat helps Mamoswine easily take Ice-type attacks, making it a very consistent switch-in (AH) to Electric-types such as Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========

If you need a Pokemon that can deal with physical attackers like Mega Salamence and Kangaskhan (RC) but also need a Thundurus check, Rocky Helmet Mamoswine is a good option. Mamoswine can withstand Fake Out and Double Edge from Mega Kangaskhan and take it out with Earthquake after Rocky Helmet damage combined with Earthquake.

========

Mamoswine can also deal with Choice Scarf Ground-types, such as Garchomp and Landorus-T, both of which can can threaten Thundurus with Stone Edge.

Earthquake is a strong and reliable STAB move, and it can be used to OHKO Mega Gengar. It also hits other common Pokemon such as Aegislash and Heatran super effectively. Icicle Spear is another strong STAB, and it is useful for breaking Focus Sash and Substitutes. Icicle Crash can be used instead if you want a more consistent damage output,; it also has a nice flinch chance, (AC) to flinch which is especially useful with Choice Scarf boosting Mamoswine's Speed. Superpower offers nice coverage on Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Mega Kangaskhan, and other Mamoswine. Alternatively, (AC) Rock Slide OHKOes Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y, (AC) which may be hard for Mamoswine to take on otherwise. Fissure can be used when you predicting defensive Pokemon such as Porygon2 and Suicune switching in. It can also be used as a last-resort (AH) attack when (or "when you're in a pinch", but then I'd rather go with this) in a pinch. Knock Off can be used as it offers nice utility, removing your foe's (apo) item. Ice Shard may be useful in situations against priority users.

Maximum Speed is important to outspeed Mega Gengar and Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T. The remaining EVs are used in Attack to allow Mamoswine to do as much damage as possible. Choice Scarf allows Mamoswine to outspeed many Pokemon it wouldn't otherwise; Mega Gengar, Serperior, Thundurus, and Greninja to name a few. Thick Fat gives Mamoswine a pseudo-resistance to Ice, (AC) which is especially valuable when taking on Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========

Hiding the fact that Mamoswine is carrying Choice Scarf can help gain an advantage, as can bringing in Mamoswine against naturally slower Pokemon such as Breloom (RC) and then surprising your opponent by outspeeding a faster Pokemon later in the game.

Freeze-Dry (AH) can be used to hit some Water-types, most notably Gyarados, Rotom-W, Slowbro, and Swampert. However, in order to deal a respectable amount of damage, you must run Life Orb with 36 Special Attack EVs. This allows Mamoswine to 2HKO Rotom-W and Slowbro with Freeze Dry. Freeze-Dry hits Swampert for 4x super effective damage and prevents it from setting Stealth Rock.

**Mega Scizor**: Mega Scizor takes little from Mamoswine's attacks, (AC) and can use Mamoswine as set up setup fodder, (AC) and threatens it with Bullet Punch.

**Mega Kangaskhan**: Mega Kangaskhan outspeeds non-Choice Scarf variants and can OHKO most Mamoswine even through Focus Sash. However, Kangaskhan has to watch out for Rocky Helmet sets.

**Gengar**: Gengar can Will-O-Wisp burn Mamoswine with Will-O-Wisp, heavily crippling it. Gengar can also wait before Mega Evolving against Mamoswine in order to avoid super effective damage from Earthquake.

Maximum Attack and Speed investment is preferred, as with Focus Sash investing in bulk isn't necessary. Maximum Speed is important to ensure Mamoswine outspeeds Breloom and takes it out with Icicle Spear. Focus Sash makes Mamoswine a great lead and revenge killer, (AC) able to take big hits and retaliate with its own. Thick Fat increases Mamoswine's defensive capabilities, helping it take the popular BoltBeam combination often used on Pokemon such as Thundurus and Zapdos.

Usage Tips
========

Mamoswine also works great as a Thundurus check, (AC) as . Mamoswine takes it on very well and it is able to switch into Thunder Wave and other common attacks from Thundurus. Pokemon that are terrified of Talonflame appreciate having the Stealth Rock that Mamoswine can provide. Serperior, for example, has an easy time with Talonflame weakened or taken out and can deal with Rotom-W for Mamoswine.

Team Options
========

Earthquake is a strong and consistent STAB move. Ice Shard offers priority, which makes up for this set's minimal Speed investment and is very useful for picking off faster, weakened foes. Icicle Spear is a good STAB move that This is really something to avoid saying in analyses. Even before "X is a strong and consistent move" is ok, but only due to the "consistent" part. We all know "X is a good move" because it's on the set! is useful for breaking through Substitute and Focus Sash and hits many common Pokemon super effectively, such as Garchomp, Thundurus, and Mega Salamence. Fissure helps Mamoswine break through defensive Pokemon such as Suicune and Porygon2. With Assault Vest Mamoswine it can withstand a lot of attacks, providing a lot of turns to attempt to hit Fissure.

Usage Tips
========

========

Knock Off offers nice utility in taking out the foe's item which may will often be crucial to their game plan. Rock Tomb allows Mamoswine to hit Talonflame, and the Speed drops may often might be useful. An Impish nature with maximum investment in HP and Defense is used to take on strong attackers like Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Salamence. Maximum investment is needed to ensure the best chance of surviving a Double-Edge from +1 Mega Salamence. Thick Fat helps Mamoswine easily take Ice-type attacks, making it a very consistent switch-in to Electric-types such as Thundurus.

Usage Tips
========

Blaziken especially appreciates bulky Mamoswine as a partner. With the defensive investment, Mamoswine can take on some big checks to Blaziken such as Landorus-T, Mega Salamence, and Thundurus. Stealth Rock support is also very beneficial for getting chip damage and breaking Focus Sash to up a successful sweep for Blaziken. Usage Tips

========

However, in order to deal a respectable amount of damage, you must run Life Orb with 36 Special Attack EVs to allow. This allows Mamoswine to 2HKO Rotom-W and Slowbro. Freeze-Dry hits Swampert for 4x super effective damage and prevents it from setting Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

Without a Rock-type move, it's very difficult for Mamoswine to beat it, and it as Mamoswine needs to correctly predict Roost with Earthquake.

[OVERVIEW]

Mamoswine is a great check to many common Pokemon, (AC) including such as Garchomp and Mega Salamence, both of which are 4x weak to Ice; Steel-types such as Heatran; and Electric-types such as Thundurus and Zapdos. Mamoswine also has other useful moves, such as the always-handy Stealth Rock and as well as Fissure to deal with defensive Pokemon it can't break through otherwise.

Fissure can be used to deal with some defensive Pokemon that are tough for Mamoswine to break through, and although the low accuracy may might seem like a big risk, Focus Sash guarantees it'll have at least two attempts to hit. might want to mention it's a 50% chance!

Without a Rock-type move, it's very difficult for Mamoswine to beat it, and it as Mamoswine needs to correctly predict Roost with Earthquake.

Thanks, did all this.

For this part, "Mamoswine is a great check to many common Pokemon, (AC) including such as Garchomp and Mega Salamence" did you want me to remove "such as"? I assumed you did, but if that was wrong just let me know.

And i changed this part "Focus Sash guarantees it'll have at least two attempts to hit. might want to mention it's a 50% chance!" to "Focus Sash guarantees it'll have at least two attempts to hit, which is about a 50% chance. "
is that okay or should i change how that's written?
