Overview
#######

- Very important resistance to fighting and immunity to ground
- Amazing special defense
- Has two great abilities
- Good offensive typing
- One of the best Sun counters
- Mediocre HP and Defense stat
- Low SpA stat
- Crippling 4x Electric Weakness
- SR weakness
- It's adorable

Rain Dance
########
move 1: Hydro Pump
move 2: Rain Dance
move 3: Air Slash
move 4: Hidden Power Ground
ability: Swift Swim
item: Eviolite / Life Orb
evs: 76 HP / 36 Def / 200 SAtk / 196 Spd
nature: Modest

Moves
========

-Setting up Rain Dance doubles your speed and boosts the power of Hydro Pump 1.5 times making it hit really hard even with Mantyke's average SpA stat
-Hydro Pump is your main STAB and nukes a huge portion of the metagame in rain
-Air Slash is an reliable option vs Fighting types and gets past Grass types.
-Hidden power Ground is really only there to pick off weakened Chinchou and Magnemite.

Set Details
========

-Evs are used to maximize special attack and speed. The leftovers are dumped into bulk.
-Eviolite gives you good bulk to set up Rain Dance and you still hit really hard
-Life Orb makes it harder to set up rain but you will hit like a nuke once set up.
-Modest allows for a decent buffing of Mantyke's mediocre Special Attack stat.

Usage Tips
========

· Make sure you have removed or weakened Chinchou and/or Magnemite and Sturdy users before you attempt a sweep since they will stop it cold.
· You can easily set up rain against ground and fighting types like Timburr ,Mienfoo and Drilbur.
· Is a nice fit on Bulky Offense and Balance and provides a nice ground immunity.

Team Options
========

· Diglett can trap and kill Chinchou, Pawniard and Sturdy users.
· Ferroseed is a great teammate as it enjoys the protection of the rain, sets up hazards, and gets rid of Chinchou with Bullet Seed.
· Drilbur spins rocks away, outspeeds and kills Magnemite and Chinchou and has a good matchup vs Pawniard.

Other Options
########

-A RestTalk set is a great option, being able to recover along with Sleep Talk to keep momentum.
-Scald or Surf can be run over Hydro Pump for accuracy.
-Ice Beam and Signal beam are other options for a more offensive set.
-Tailwind is an option for support.
-A decent physical movepool, albeit terrible attacking stat, is available with Earthquake, Waterfall, Rock Slide, and Aerial Ace or Acrobatics.

Checks & Counters
########

**Electric-types**: Electric types such as Chinchou, Magnemite, and Elekid have a 4x type advantage on Mantyke.

**Sturdy users**: Sturdy users, such as Magnemite, Tirtouga, and Dwebble have no problem taking a hit and dealing back damage. In the case of Shell Smash sturdy users, they can always set up as long as there are no hazards and KO with a STAB Rock-type move.

**Water-Types**: Most water types take little damage from Mantyke, including Omanyte, Chinchou, and Tirtouga.

**Physical Attackers**: Hard hitting Physical attackers like Pawniard and Tirtouga can beat Mantyke easily by either Knocking off it's item or hitting with another STAB move in the case of Tirtouga.

- No RestTalk? Not even in OO? RestTalk Mantyke is bae.

- Mantyke is used in LC as a special tank, when it's used. Water Absorb Eviolite is the most common.

- Team Options should mention Ferroseed and other things that also enjoy the protection of the rain.

- Right now, in team options, you have that Fletchling should be on this team to deal with Chinchou. Please goodness no don't do that.

- Obviously, Mantyke has more checks and counters than that, or it would be used so much more often. But more than two would be nice.

- Other Options has a physical set, even though Mantyke has a Attack stat of 20, only surpassing Hapiny as the worst physical attacker in LC.

Of course, I might just be an idiot after all.

Edit: Happy 200th post!!!

Agility could be placed in OO (or even mentioned in the set) as it lasts longer than Rain Dance, it won't be stopped by Vulpix/Hippo/Snover switch-ins (they're rare, though) and works exactly the same as Rain Dance in tems of setting up. It also lets it run Water Absorb for easy switch-ins; the only let down in switching Rain Dance with Agility is the power loss in Hydro Pump.

I think OO is not enough, it should get its own set as even if it's countered by Chinchou, it can wall lots of Special Attackers, most importantly Cottonee.

Already doing the Mantine one, might as well snag the prevo Goddess Briyella

Edit: Briyella should totally edit this if I am allowed to take this over, to be entirely honest.
