Hey Everyone,
This is my first RMT and I wanted to get some feedback to help improve my Mega Medicham team. I have played ou a lot in gen 5 but I don't have a ton of experience playing in gen 6. However this team has given me some pretty good success and seems like it can be really good with a bit of tweaking. Critisism is welcome however if you think I should change something, please give me a good reason why you feel it would benefit my team.
I've peaked 1611 after a bit of tilt.

So Now lets get on to the team, this is a team based around Mega-Medicham. I have wanted to build a team around Megacham for a long time but Aegislash and Mega Mawile kinda destroyed him. But now that they're gone he has a lot more viabilty.
DoItToEm (Medicham-Mega) (F) @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- Psycho Cut
- Ice Punch
When I first decided to build a new OU team, I knew i wanted to use
Medicham as my mega. It has great coverage and is probably one of the
best fake-out users in the teir. With an incomprehensibly high base atk, fake-out will always deal
nice free damage and allowing him to mega-evo for free. And there isn't much
in the game that can take a stab HJK from this thing. Ice punch is the prefered
coverage move to deal with Gliscor and Landorus, and it helps for predicted
switches on Lati@s. I use psycho cut for accuracy. I don't like having 90 accuracy
on both my STAB moves.
Titan (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- U-turn
Megacham has a decent base speed, but struggles against pokemon with
higher base speed llike Greninja or Keldeo. Landorus helps give me checks to
them with rotom being able to voltswitch him in for free. Landorus also makes
a great revenge killer. With a very powerful knock off, it deters your opponent
from switching, allowing it to finish off threats from coming back in later.
Win Cycle (Rotom-Wash) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Rest
With the addition of Landorus I really needed a physical wall that resists
aqau jet and ice shard. Rotom-W seems to be the perfect fit. Volt switch
has great synergy with u-turnand levitate gives me something else to save
heatran from ground moves. Will-o-wisp is just a great option to cripple
physical threats like Garchomp and Ferrothorn. The use of chesto resto over
pain split is just personal preferance. I'm sure there are a lot of people who
prefer pain split but I have tried both and prefer rest. Last, the 44 speed EVs
are to creep jolly Azumarill so belly drum doesn't crush my soul.
Cheshire (Gengar) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Pain Split
- Substitute
At this point I realized I have a prety big weakness to fairy, so I wanted to use
a poke with either a stab poison move or stab steel. I chosee Gengar because
I feel like ghost is one of the best offensive types right now and since I can't
run Aegislash Gengar is the only other option to check fairys. I didn't want to
use a sash because so far the team hasnt needed a spinner and using a sash
would make me need one, so I felt a sub set would be best. I first tried sub w-o-w,
but decided to switch to pain split because I didn't really need 2 w-o-w users,
and pain split allows me to run life orb over black sludge to maximize sludge
wave damage against bulky fairy types.
Red Steel (Heatran) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
The team was in need of a good stealth rock user as well as a special wall. Heatran
does a nice job covering Landorus's Ice weakness, Rotom's grass weakness, Medicham's
Flying weakness, Gengar's psychic weakness, and both of sylveons weaknesses. It has great
synergy with the rest of the team and with 3 pokes immune to ground, Heatran doesn't
really have a problem with his 4x weakness to it.

Bill Nye (Sylveon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
For the last slot on the team I wanted a cleric. I could've used a RS or Defog
user instead, but since none of my pokes are weak to rock and 3 are immune
to spikes/sticky webs, I figured a would be better overall. Wish passing allows
me to bring weakened pokes back to full and really helps mitigate SR dmg.
Also, having heal bell is amazing for the team. I no longer fear w-o-w from
Rotom or t wave from Thundurus. It makes predicting less important and
just helps allow Megacham to break walls and not have to worry bout getting
crippled. I chose Sylveon as the cleric over something like Chansey because
of its typing. It really helps against major threats like Garchomp bisharp and
Terrakion which all pretty much wreck chansey. Sylveon also gets cripples
a lot less from knock off.
Major Threats
Keldeo
Pretty much the biggest threat to the team. Mainly the specs set. If it has a scarf
I can typically deal with using Rotom or Sylveon, but if it is specs it can 2HKO them
with hydro pump and secret sword respectively. It can really breakdown my walls
and sometimes I have to sack something just to get a check in.
Azumrill
The belly drum set isn't too bad unless Rotom is weakened, but until I find out
what set their Azumarill is I wont let that happen. However the Banded and AV
are both kinda tough because AV can live both volt switch and sludge wave,
While the Banded set can OHKO Gengar with aqua jet and Rotom takes like
65% from play rough.
Mega Gyarados
I don't run into it often, but when I do it can definatly be a huge threat. It
wrecks Rotom with mold-breaker EQ at +1, and after +1 Sylveon can only
take 1 hit and if they flinch me I'm in trouble.
Minor Threats
Garchomp – Landorus, Sylveon, and Rotom all check it pretty well.
Bisharp – Can typically handle it with rotom or heatran or Medacham.
Bulky Fairies – These can be pretty annoying if my Gengar dies early.
Greninja – I can usually wear it down with FO and finish it with scarfed Landorus.
Talonflame – Priority BB is always a threat but Rotom, and heatran counter it hard.
So that's the team. I would very much appreciate any feedback on how I may tweak
this team. Thanks to all who rate. :)
