Congrats to the winners of the last slate, Im sorry I was unable to vote but my internet was screwed up and my mobile data is shit.
Anyways, damn, these slates just keep getting more random lol
Reuniclus-Mega
Psychic
HP: 110
Atk: 65
Def: 75 --> 120(+45)
Sp.Atk: 130 --> 120(-10)
Sp.Def: 85 --> 130(+45)
Speed: 30 --> 45(+15)
Ability: Regenerator
New Moves: Volt Switch
Flavor Justification: Reuniclus thankfully already gets Regenerator in its base form, allowing me to casually disregard the ability limitations. Reuni is based on the Tardigrade, which is knows for its insane survivability, giving it some justification for the great defenses, and Volt Switch is there because if Forretress can get Volt Switch GF just doesnt give a fuck.
Competitive Justification: Oh my god this thing will be a pain to take down. 110/130/130 with regen is definitely one of the most bulky things around, and due to regenerator it doesnt even mind the loss of lefties so much. Infact, I gave it a useless +15 to speed just to nerf its Sp.Atk slightly, because it felt too powerful otherwise. Regardless, this thing can still be beat by most bug or dark types, and is very vulnerable to Toxic. Celesteela straight-out walls non-CM variants and can Leech Seed it immediately. Its also somewhat one-dimensional, as its movepool isnt as insanely colorful as some other bulky pokemon, and its very hard to use this thing as a utility mon.
Mega Persian-A
Dark
HP: 65
Atk: 60 --> 125(+65)
Def: 60 --> 80(+20)
Sp.Atk: 75
Sp.Def: 65 --> 80(+15)
Speed: 115
Ability: Tough Claws
New Moves: Swords Dance, Ice Fang
Flavor Justification: Not much changed here, so not much to justify. If youve ever had a pet cat, you know those bastards have some deadly claws, so Tough Claws is self-explanatory. Ice Fang and Swords Dance are sort of vanilla moves so justification isnt even needed.
Competitive Justification: I have to admit, this is the laziest submission Ive given till now. I toyed around with a bunch of possible variants of this mega, but Persian just doesnt have the stats to pull off anything I was favoring. Since I couldnt break the +100 rule, and Persian doesnt have much else going for it, I decided to make it a very vanilla-ish speedy attacker, in the vein of a much worse Mega-Absol. Theres honestly no way I can see that this thing could be even close to broken, tbh.
Mega Meowstic
Psychic
HP: 74
Atk: 48
Def: 76 --> 100(+24)
Sp.Atk: 83 --> 103(+20)
Sp.Def: 81 -->131(+50)
Speed: 104 --> 110(+6)
Ability: Sheer Force(Meowstic-F), Magic Bounce(Meowstic-M)
New Moves: Recover(Meowstic-M), Ice Beam(Meowstic-F), Cosmic Power(Both Forms)
Flavor Justification: Much like with Persian-A, I feel like the movepool additions are very vanilla, with the possible exception of Cosmic Power(which I included because cats yelp like crazy at night so I associate them with the sky). I gave the M and F forms different attacks because their learnset is already different, so its not much of a stretch. Likewise, Meowstic-F, which is the more offensively oriented of the two, gets an offensive ability it can make great use of in Sheer Force. Meowstic-M gets Magic Bounce as an upgrade from Prankster.
Competitive Justification: Sheer Force in tandem with CM and Boltbeam make Mega-Meowstic-F a crazy good specially offensive Mega. While it lacks the sheer power(heh) of Mega-Alakazam, it has much better bulk with which to comfortably set up and sweep. Meowstic-M was meant to be the supporter of the two, with Prankster to be a nuisance, and getting Magic Bounce carries that on in the vein of Mega Sableye. With Recover and Cosmic Power, Meowstic-M can even run a decent Stored Power set, and wreak havoc with Prankster before Mega Evolving. Infact, despite my efforts, both forms can do the others job quite well due to having the same stats. With Magic Bounce to shrug off passive damage, Meowstic-M can possibly do a CM set more reliably, if not more efficiently, than its female counterpart. Likewise, Meowstic-F can make use of Cosmic Power + Stored Power to an extent with its superior coverage and better offensive ability. Overall, I just had a load of fun designing these two megas, definitely an enjoyable slate.
