[OVERVIEW]

**Flying**:

Mega Charizard Y's great Fire typing and base 159 Special Attack make it a powerful wallbreaker. Its ability, Drought, raises the damage output of its Fire-type STAB moves and makes Solar Beam a one-turn move. It also halves the damage of Water-type moves, which helps against Mega Charizard Y's Water-type matchup, as well as allowing it to viably use Solar Beam as coverage for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Slowbro, and Swampert. However, despite Mega Charizard Y's decent Speed tier, it's generally frail and doesn't have the best Defense and HP. It is also checked by Dragon-types such as Garchomp, Goodra, and Latias. Finally, due to its typing, it is 4x weak to Stealth Rock, so a Defogger is always needed.

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker (Flying)

ability: Drought
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Fire Blast is Mega Charizard Y's best Fire-type STAB move, especially in sun, when it can OHKO or severely weaken anything that doesn't resist it. Flamethrower can be used over Fire Blast for better accuracy, but Fire Blast is generally better, as it guarantees an OHKO on Mega Gallade while also being able to 2HKO Latios, OHKO Mega Gardevoir, and OHKO fast Zapdos after Stealth Rock damage. Thanks to Drought, Solar Beam hits in one turn and deals massive damage to bulky Water-types such as Swampert, Slowbro, and Azumarill. Focus Blast is great coverage for Pokemon like Tyranitar, Heatran, Hydreigon, and Mega Houndoom. Roost mitigates Stealth Rock damage and increases Mega Charizard Y's longevity.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs are used to increase Mega Charizard Y's total damage output. 252 Speed EVs and Timid nature are used to maximize its Speed, allowing it to outspeed threats such as non-Choice Scarf Kyurem-B and Hydreigon and dent them with Fire Blast and Focus Blast, respectively. It also allows Mega Charizard Y to crucially Speed tie with opposing base 100 Speed Pokemon, such as -1 Choice Scarf Victini, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Medicham.

Usage Tips
========

Avoid switching Mega Charizard Y in when Stealth Rock is on the field, since it loses half of its health; therefore, a Defogger is necessary to maximize Mega Charizard Y's wallbreaking potential and to make it easier for it to switch in. Taking advantage of the Pokemon that Mega Charizard Y forces to switch in, such as Chansey and Latias, allows you to keep up offensive momentum by double switching into an appropriate teammate, such as Landorus-T. Mega Charizard Y has decent special bulk and can take some hits, allowing it to Roost to keep healthy and act as a better wallbreaker. Thanks to Mega Charizard Y's Ice neutrality, Choice Scarf Kyurem-B cannot 2HKO it, while it can retaliate with Fire Blast. Mega Charizard Y is better off coming in and out early-game to try to take out the opposing walls, letting its teammates act more freely.

Team Options
========

Defoggers such as Zapdos and Skarmory help Mega Charizard Y by removing Stealth Rock, allowing it to perform better as a wallbreaker and not lose half of its health. Zapdos has a slow Volt Switch that can help Mega Charizard Y come in safely; it also has Toxic to wear down walls that Mega Charizard Y cannot, such as Mega Latias and Assault Vest users such as Meloetta, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Goodra. It also serves as a great specially defensive wall that can switch into Electric-type attacks safely. Skarmory is a great physically defensive wall and can switch into Rock-type attacks that are aimed at Mega Charizard Y. It's also very good for checking Mega Diancie that lack Hidden Power Fire, as it freely switches in and threatens it with Iron Head. Entry hazard setters such as Skarmory, Landorus-T, and Aerodactyl can give Mega Charizard Y an easier time wallbreaking.

Choice Scarf Landorus-T is a good revenge killer that can help take on faster threats for Mega Charizard Y. Landorus-T can also set up Stealth Rock and is a nice check to physical attackers in general thanks to Intimidate. Dragonite is a good wallbreaker that pairs well with Mega Charizard Y. Together, they put a lot of pressure on opposing walls. Mega Charizard Y is weak to Electric, so having Landorus-T, Thundurus-T, or Gliscor as a partner is good, since they are immune to the type. Gliscor is a fantastic stallbreaker, assisting Mega Charizard Y in beating defensive cores. It's also helpful to have Rock-resistant Pokemon such as Skarmory, Gliscor, and Landorus-T to help versus fast Rock-type Pokemon that threaten Mega Charizard Y, such as Mega Diancie and Terrakion. Choice Scarf Togekiss is another revenge killer that really appreciates Mega Charizard Y breaking the special walls that it cannot defeat easily. Thundurus has access to Prankster Thunder Wave support and Nasty Plot, which benefits greatly from Mega Charizard Y's wallbreaking potential.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

**Flying**:

A Modest nature can be run over a Timid nature for greater damage output, although losing the Speed boost makes Mega Charizard Y slower than Hydreigon and Mega Medicham, which both tend to run a Speed-boosting nature. Mega Charizard Y can use Dragon Pulse to hit the Dragon-types that threaten it, although it doesn't do much to bulky Dragon-types. Earthquake can be used over Focus Blast to deal more damage to opposing Heatran, although it deals less damage to Tyranitar. A bulkier set with Will-O-Wisp, Fire Blast, and Roost can be used over the wallbreaking set, as Mega Charizard Y has better special bulk than Zapdos, and its typing gives it a neutrality to Ice, although Mega Gyarados does a better job as an Ice-resistant Pokemon for Flying teams.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Flying**:

**Dragon-types**: Bulky Dragon-types such as Latias, Goodra, and Dragalge can tank Mega Charizard Y's hits and retaliate with a hard-hitting attack. Faster Dragons such as Latios and Choice Scarf Kyurem-B can revenge kill it. Dragonite also resists all of Mega Charizard Y's attacks and OHKOes it with Outrage.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types generally don't have a switch-in to Mega Charizard Y, but Pokemon such as Mega Manectric and Thundurus can revenge kill it.

**Faster Threats**: Faster threats such as Terrakion, Landorus, and Choice Scarf Victini can easily outspeed and revenge kill Mega Charizard Y with Stone Edge, Rock Slide, and Bolt Strike, respectively.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon such as Chansey and Tyranitar can wall Mega Charizard Y, forcing it to switch out. Chansey can stall it out with Toxic and Soft-Boiled. Tyranitar requires a sand boost to survive a Focus Blast, so if Mega Charizard Y tries to use Solar Beam, it can easily switch in, get rid of the sun with Sand Stream, tank Focus Blast, and retaliate with Stone Edge.

**Stealth Rock**: Stealth Rock removes half of Mega Charizard Y's health, keeping it from switching in safely.

**Politoed**: Politoed is quite a good check because its Drizzle removes sun, so if Mega Charizard Y tries to use Solar Beam when Politoed comes in, it can cripple it with Scald.

  • Modest is often outclassed maybe put it in other options possibly
  • Modest makes Charizard Slower than lots of threats
  • 252 Special Attack EVs is to increase Charizards total damage output.
  • 252 Speed EVs and Timid Nature is to maximize its speed
  • Modest Nature can be used to make Charizards wallbreaking better
  • Timid nature is better used for Fire Blast since its more powerful but Modest Nature is better off for the variants running Flamethrower to make up for the damage.

Usage Tips
========

  • Mention how setting up Stealth Rocks and how it can turn 2 Hit Kos to OHKOs and 3 Hit KOs to 2 hit KOs
  • Anticipate switches into Charizard-Y checks/counters
  • Same thing with Stealth Rock
  • Avoid switching in when Stealth Rocks are on the field since Charizard loses fifty percent of its health. Mention how a deffoger is necessary to remove hazards some newer players won't know.
  • Removing Stealth Rocks off the field is important to maximize Charizard's wallbreaking potential, and makes it easier for it to switch-inTaking advantage of the switch-ins that Charizard forces, such as Chansey, Cradily and Lati@s, you can keep up offensive momentum by double switching into an appropriate teammate. Anticipate switches to Charizard-Y counters/checks
  • Also, it is better to take advantage of mega evolving against slower threats or threats it can manage upon beating. Mega Charizard-Y doesn't gain any Speed so this is very confusing should be taken out or worded better.
  • At times its exceptional to hard switch into a Stealth Rock setter such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Forretress that gets OHKOd by Charizard. Anticipate Stealth Rock?

Team Options
========
  • Wouldn't call Torn-T a good physical attacker nor a good teammate for Charizard-Y
  • Add Special attackers such as Thundurus-I and T, Landorus
  • Defoggers such as Zapdos and Skarmory help Charizard by removing Stealth Rocks, allowing it to preform better as a wallbreaker. Mention how defog helps with Charizard-Y not losing 50% of its health.
  • Hazard Setters such as Skarmory, Landorus-T, and Aerodactyl set hazards to make Charizard's wallbreaking easier.
  • Good Physical attackers such as Tornadus-T, Dragonite and Landorus-I are good partners for Charizard's switch-ins which include, Chansey, Cradily and Lati@s How is Landrous-I a physical attacker? I think you meant T or something else really can't tell
  • Charizard is weak to Electric, so having Landorus-I, Landorus-T and Gliscor are good partners since they are immune to electric mention Thundurus-T
  • Since Charizard is 4x weak to Rock, having good Rock resistants such as Skarmory, Landorus, and Gliscor benefit Charizard. Kind of irrelevant team option but you could say rock type resist for Fast Rock type Pokemon that threaten Charizard-Y.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

**Flying:**
Mention Earthquake for Heatran
Dragon Pulse can be used to hit the bulky Dragon-types that threatens it. Earthquake can be used over Focus Blast to deal more damage to opposing Heatrans, although it does less damage to Tyranitar. Mention how Dragon Pulse doesn't do much to Bulky Dragon types
Mention Air Slash for Fighting Types
Checks and Counters
===================
**Flying:**

Dragon-types: Bulky Dragon-types such as Latias, Goodra and Dragalge can tank hits and retaliate with a decent attack better wording . Faster Dragons such as Latios, Choice Scarf Kyurem-Black and Garchomp (Can you speficify type of Garchomp) can revenge kill it. In general flying struggles with Dragon due to Pokemon such as Kyurem-Black running Ice Beam + Fusion Bolt. (I Don't Know why this is here but this should be removed but it seems kind of out of place)

Electric-types: Electric-types: Electric-types generally don't have a switch-in to Charizard, but Pokemon such as Mega Manectric and Thundurus can revenge kill it.

Faster Threats: Faster Threats such as Terrakion, Landorus and Choice Scarf Victini can easily outspeed and revenge kill Charizard with Stone Edge, Rock Slide and Bolt Strike respectively.

Bulky Pokemon: Bulky Pokemon such as Chansey, and Tyranitar can wall Charizard's attacks forcing it to switch out. Chansey can Stall it out with Toxic and Soft Boiled, Tyranitar can live a Focus Blast and OHKO with Stone Edge. Mention how Focus Blast's accuracy is shaky
I cleaned up majority of issues so QC 1 is Complete, but some parts were very confusing to read so I couldn't get the full purpose of the analysis.

Thanks! i implemented all changes, now ready for QC#2

Overview:
Having two lines about it being a wallbreaker is redundant. Just take out the first line.

Moves:
Can you give an example or two of Fire Blast vs. Flamethrower where you need Fire Blast to get the KO? Maybe something like getting the OHKO on physically defensive Mandibuzz after Stealth Rock damage or getting an OHKO on specially defensive Sableye?

Set Details:
I think some examples of needing max Speed would be good. (Assuming no Choice Scarf) Outspeeding Hydreigon to OHKO it with Focus Blast is very nice, as is outspeeding Kyurem-B. Getting a Speed tie against other base 100s is also crucial, most notably including a -1 Choice Scarf Victini and Mega Medicham.

Usage Tips:
Again, having two lines dedicated to Stealth Rock weakness is redundant. During writing phase you could expand on this if you so choose, but there's no reason to have two basically duplicate bullet points when they could be merged.

I don't really like these two lines:
  • Taking advantage of the switch-ins that Charizard forces, such as Chansey, Cradily and Lati@s, you can keep up offensive momentum by double switching into an appropriate teammate.
  • At times its exceptional to switch into a Stealth Rock setter such as Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Forretress that gets OHKOd by Charizard.

In the first scenario, some of your examples are pretty bad. Cradily gets 2HKOed by Fire Blast, as does Latios, which thus can't switch in more than once. Try to think of better examples here? In the second, you risk getting hit by Thunder Wave or Leech Seed from Ferrothorn, hardly a good situation to be switching into. Against Forretress, it gets up Stealth Rock on the switch and then can use Volt Switch or Explosion on Mega Charizard Y because of Sturdy, so again it's not really a safe decision. So if you can think of better examples for this, then you can keep it.

Mention that Roost should be used to keep Mega Charizard Y healthy. It has surprisingly decent special bulk, so it can afford to take some hits, but will need to Roost in order to stay relevant.

I'd also say that Mega Charizard Y is best used coming in and out early-game to try to take out the opposing walls. Taking down walls early can help let its teammates act more freely.

Team Options:
Zapdos also has a slow Volt Switch, which can really help bring Mega Charizard Y into play safely. It can also run Toxic, to beat walls that Mega Charizard Y cannot, such as defensive Mega Latias and Assault Vest users. It also serves as a great specially defensive wall and can switch into Electric-type attacks safely.

Similarly, Skarmory is a very nice physically defensive wall and can switch into Rock-type attacks that are aimed at Mega Charizard Y. It's also very good for countering Mega Diancie that lack Hidden Power Fire, as it freely switches in and threatens an Iron Head.

Again, Cradily is not a switch-in. Physical attackers are not necessarily good at beating Latias and Latios. Dragonite certainly isn't without Multiscale active, and Landorus-T easily drops to their Ice Beam coverage anyway. Instead, mention that Choice Scarf Landorus-T is a good revenge killer that can help take on faster threats for Mega Charizard Y. The defensive set is also great for setting up Stealth Rock and being a nice check to physical attackers in general. Dragonite is a good wallbreaker that pairs well with Mega Charizard Y. Together, they put a lot of pressure on the opposing walls.

I would add that Gliscor is a fantastic stallbreaker that works alongside Mega Charizard Y to beat defensive cores. I would say that Landorus is not a very good teammate for Mega Charizard Y. Landorus-T being physically-oriented is far more desirable and its defensive set is very useful as well.

Add Thundurus for its Prankster Thunder Wave support. It can also run a Nasty Plot set, which benefits greatly from Mega Charizard Y's wallbreaking powers.

Choice Scarf Togekiss is another revenge killer that really appreciates Mega Charizard Y breaking the special walls that it cannot defeat easily.

Other Options:
Vid said to put Modest here, and I agree with that. Please do so for the extra damage. If you could provide some extra KOs that it hits, that'd be good. Do make sure to say that losing the Speed from Timid is quite a pain though.

I don't really like Air Slash, since you become walled by Tyranitar and the only Fighting-type you're even hitting with that is Infernape. Everything else is hit with Fire Blast and Solar Beam anyway. I guess it can stay though, but really emphasize how poor of an option it is.

Checks and Counters:
Maybe add Dragonite as a Dragon-type check?

It should be noted that Tyranitar requires the sand boost to survive a Focus Blast. That being said, if it catches Mega Charizard Y trying to Solar Beam, it easily tanks that and Stone Edges for free after.

Stealth Rock 100% should be mentioned here. It's a huge problem for Mega Charizard Y and can keep it from being able to switch in safely.

Politoed is quite a good check thanks to its Drizzle removing sun. If Mega Charizard Y is caught trying to Solar Beam when Politoed comes in, that could be curtains.

Just add more detail and you'll be good to go. QC 2/3

[OVERVIEW]

**Flying:**
Mega Charizard Y's great Fire typing and base 159 Special Attack makes it a powerful wallbreaker. Drought raises the damage output of its Fire STAB moves and allows Solar Beam to hit in one turn rather then than* two. Drought also halves the damage of Water-Types Moves, which helps against the Water-type match up, along with Solar Beam as coverage for Pokemon such as Seismitoad, Slowbro and Swampert. Mega Charizard Y has a decent speed tier although its generally frail and doesn't have the best Defense and HP stats. It also gets checked by Dragon-types such as Garchomp, Goodra, and Latias. Due to its typing it is 4x weak to Stealth Rock, so a defogger is always needed because of Charizard's stealth rock weakness.

[SET COMMENTS]

Moves
========

Fire Blast is Charizard's best Fire-STAB, especially in Drought where it can OHKO and or severly weaken dent anything that doesn't resist it. Flamethrower can be used over Fire Blast for better accuracy, but the damage done is reduced. Fire Blast is generally better, as it guarantess an OHKO on Mega Gallade while also being able to 2HKO Latios, (ac) OHKO Mega Gardevoir, and OHKO fast Zapdos after Stealth Rock damage. Thanks to Drought, Solar Beam hits in one turn and does massive damage to bulky Water-types such as Swampert, Slowbro and Azumarill. Focus Blast is great coverage for Pokemon like Tyranitar, Heatran, Hydreigon and Mega Houndoom. Roost mitigates Stealth Rock damage and gives it longevity.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs is to increase Mega Charizard Y's total damage output. 252 Speed EVs and Timid Nature is to maximize its speed, allowing it to outspeed threats such as Kyurem-B and Hydreigon, and denting with Fire Blast and Focus Blast respectively, assuming they are not Choice Scarf. Speed tie's against opposing base 100's is also crucial, such as -1 Choice Scarf Victini, Zapdos and Mega Medicham.

Zapdos rarely runs max speed in Mono. I think something like Manaphy or m-Garde are more relevant when discussing what you want to speed tie with.

Usage Tips

Avoid switching in when Stealth Rocks are on the field since Charizard loses fifty percent of its health, therefore a Defogger is necessary to remove hazards. Removing Stealth Rocks off the field is important to maximize Charizard's wallbreaking potential, and makes it easier for it to switch-in. Taking advantage of the switch-ins that Charizard forces, such as Chansey and Latias, you can keep up offensive momentum by double switching into an appropriate teammate. Mega Charizard Y has decent special bulk, therefore it can take some hits allowing it to Roost up to keep it healthy and act better as a wallbreaker. Mega Charizard Y is better off coming in and out early-game to try to take out the opposing walls. Taking down walls early can help let its teammates act more freely.

...Charizard forces, such as Chansey and Latias, you can keep up offensive momentum by double switching into an appropriate teammate, such as Landorus-Therian.

When talking about its special bulk, also mention its secondary Fire typing providing an Ice neutrality in a pinch. Most notably, Scarf Kyu-b's Ice Beam can't 2hko, while CharY does ~90%+ with Fire Blast.

Team Options
========

Defoggers such as Zapdos and Skarmory help Charizard by removing Stealth Rocks, allowing it to preform better as a wallbreaker and not lose 50% of its health. Zapdos has a slow Volt Switch which can help Mega Charizard Y come in safely, it also has Toxic to wear down walls that Charizard cannot such as Mega Latias and Assault Vest users such as Meloetta, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Goodra. It also serves as a great specially defensive wall and can switch into Electric-type attacks safely. Skarmory is a great physically defensive wall and can switch into Rock-type attacks that are aimed at Mega Charizard Y. It's also very good for checking Mega Diancie that lack Hidden Power Fire, as it freely switches in and threatens it with Iron Head. Hazard Setters such as Skarmory, Landorus-T, and Aerodactyl set hazards to make Charizard's wallbreaking easier. Choice Scarf Landorus-T is a good revenge killer that can help take on faster threats for Mega Charizard Y. The defensive set is also great for setting up Stealth Rock and being a nice check to physical attackers in general thanks to Intimidate. Dragonite is a good wallbreaker that pairs well with Mega Charizard Y. Together, they put a lot of pressure on the opposing walls. Charizard is weak to Electric, so having Landorus-T, Thundurus-T, and Gliscor are all good partners since they are immune to electric. Gliscor is a fantastic stallbreaker assisting Mega Charizard Y to beat defensive cores. Its also helpful to have Rock-type resistants such as Skarmory, Gliscor and Landorus-T for fast Rock-type pokemon that threaten Charizard such as Mega Diancie and Terrakion. Choice Scarf Togekiss is another revenge killer that really appreciates Mega Charizard Y breaking the special walls that it cannot defeat easily. Thundurus has access to Prankster and Thunder Wave support, it can also run Nasty Plot, which benefits greatly from Mega Charizard Y's wallbreaking potential.

**Flying:**

Modest can be run over Timid for greater damage output, although losing the speed makes it slower then Keldeo, Hydreigon and Mega Medicham which all tent to run a Speed Nature. Dragon Pulse can be used to hit the Dragon-types that threaten it, although it doesn't do much to Bulky Dragon types. Earthquake can be used over Focus Blast to deal more damage to opposing Heatrans, although it does less damage to Tyranitar. Lastly, Air Slash can be used for the Fighting-type matchup, although losing Focus Blast makes you more vulnerable to Tyranitar.
First sentence: Remove Keldeo. It is always slower than Keldeo. I think you should say Modest keeps it from speed tieing with base 100s and makes it slower than many non-scarf Kyu-b sets.
Remove the bit about Air Slash and Fighting teams. Sun-boosted Fire STAB or Solar Beam do more damage to everything on a Fighting team except Infernape. No reason to use it.

Mention a bulkier set with Fire STAB, WoW, Roost, Filler as an option over the wall breaking set. For comparison, this thing has better special bulk than Zapdos and the Fire/Flying typing gives it a neutrality to Ice. Mention that Mega-Gyarados generally does a better job as an Ice resist for Flying teams though.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Flying:**

Dragon-types: Bulky Dragon-types such as Latias, Goodra and Dragalge can tank hits and retaliate with a reasonable attack. Faster Dragons such as Latios and Choice Scarf Kyurem-Black can revenge kill it. Dragonite also resists all of Mega Charizard Y's attacks and OHKO's with Outrage.

Electric-types: Electric-types generally don't have a switch-in to Charizard, but Pokemon such as Mega Manectric and Thundurus can revenge kill it.

Faster Threats: Faster Threats such as Terrakion, Landorus, and Choice Scarf Victini can easily outspeed and revenge kill Charizard with Stone Edge, Rock Slide and Bolt Strike respectively.

Bulky Pokemon: Bulky Pokemon such as Chansey, and Tyranitar can wall Charizard's attacks forcing it to switch out. Chansey can Stall it out with Toxic and Soft Boiled. Tyranitar requires the sand boost to survive a Focus Blast, if it catches Mega Charizard Y trying to Solar Beam it easily switch in, get rid of the sun with Sand Stream, and tank it then retaliating with Stone Edge.

Stealth Rock: Stealth Rock is a huge problem for Mega Charizard Y as it can keep it from being able to switch in safely as it takes out half of its health.

Politoad: Politoed is quite a good check thanks to its Drizzle removing sun. If Mega Charizard Y is caught trying to Solar Beam when Politoed comes in, it can cripple it with Scald.
