Hey! Its Wyn here showcasing the team I won the Low tier ladder contest with, and its a ghost team of course, ghost is one of my favourite types. Anyways, this may look like any other generic ghost monotype team out there, but some of these sets are different and that's what makes this team unique, fun and viable at the same time.

The sets:
sableye-mega.png

sablenite.png
Lax (Sableye) @ Sablenite
sablenite.png

Ability: Prankster
EVs: 244 HP / 208 Def / 44 SpD / 12 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Imprison
- Foul Play
Sableye-mega is kinda staple on ghost teams as it is the only viable switch-in to dark types. I'm running the utility set as I wanted it to be more of a defensive wall and not a setup sweeper, and foul play is really handy at times. But at the same time I needed a way to deal with other mega sableyes and I found it in running imprison on my own. It's really specific, but it helps getting rid of that annoying thing, giving me a chance to win ghost vs dark and has actually worked for me(check the replays).

chandelure.png

leftovers.png
Kammi (Chandelure) @ Leftovers
leftovers.png

Ability: Flash Fire / Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Flamethrower
Didn't wanna run the generic sets so yeah, I thought of giving sub cm chandelure a try. Its puts in a lot of work against types like steel, grass and fairy. Also gives me a Bisharp check as substitute isn't expected. It can also do really well against normal as it gets a free setup on chansey, but if the opponent is smart enough, he'll figure out that porygon-2 with trace walls it and that is the only reason why I sometimes use Flame body on it (Not infiltrator because it doesn't beat any notable sub user and I prefer to break the sub than attack through it, in general).

aegislash-blade.png

weaknesspolicy.png
Azelea (Aegislash) @ Weakness Policy
weaknesspolicy.png

Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 248 HP / 188 Atk / 64 Def / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Shadow Sneak
- King's Shield
SD aegislash is a good wincon in general and helps me beat a lot of types. Max HP with the EVs in defense let me live a Hyperspace fury from a max attack Hoopa-U even after rocks damage, so I can KO back with iron head. 8 speed EVs so that I can outpace uninvested base 60s, like Clefable.

jellicent.png

leftovers.png
Yaksok (Jellicent) @ Leftovers

Ability: Water Absorb / Cursed Body
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Def / 248 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Acid Armor
- Recover
- Toxic
Jellicent is my SpD wall and can switch in to most special attacks owing to its decent bulk. With acid armor this thing becomes too much to deal with for a lot of offensive teams, like dragon or Ho steel. I prefer Cursed body on it but am forced to run Water Absorb because otherwise I lose to sub cm keldeo, which is fairly common.

golurk.png

focus-sash.png
Glack (Golurk) @ Focus Sash
focus-sash.png

Ability: No Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Dynamic Punch
- Stealth Rock
Rocks give me a big advantage over types that rely on rapid spin for hazard removal, like bug and fire. With Focus Sash this thing also acts as an immediate check to big threats that I cannot do much about (check the threatlist). Its sash is easy to preserve as I have Mega sableye to bounce hazards back. Max speed so it can outspeed otherwise faster mons like Mandibuzz, Skarmory, etc. and Adamant nature to hit as hard as it can.

gengar.png

choice-scarf.png
Falls (Gengar) @ Choice Scarf
choice-scarf.png

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Trick
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Energy Ball
Lastly, I have scarf Gengar mostly because my team is slow and I needed a fast revenge killer and this thing does the job for me. Trick on Gengar pairs up well with sub cm Chandelure or acid armor Jellicent as I can trick a scarf on something then setup with Chandelure or Jellicent depending on the situation (example: when against steel, I can lock heatran in a fire move and win with Chandelure). The coverage move is Energy Ball because water teams are annoying to face.

Threatlist:
625.png
This thing is one of the biggest threats, especially because most run Lum berry. I either need Golurk with its sash intact, or catch it off guard with sub chandelure to deal with this. Sableye can also beat/weaken it with foul play given that it doesn't flinch with Iron head.
319-m.png
This OHKOs five of my mons (if it wins the mind games with aegislash) and Gengar can't revenge kill it at +2. I need sashed golurk, or healthy mega sableye to get rid of this.
130-m.png
720-u.png
342.png
635.png
and other dark types in general are also threatening, but can be dealt with in a similar way.
184.png
With Belly drum, Knock off and aqua jet, this can sweep my entire team. Usually, I don't let it belly drum without dealing some damage on it, and then I can use sash Golurk to KO it or shadow sneak with aegislash later, if Golurk's not enough to do the job.

Nice RMT and grats for your winning the LTLC!

Also, it would be interesting if you tell us about the teambuilding process and the ideas you had when building the team.

I think this is a really cool team. Ghost gets really generic, and high ladder players will expect the sets that are always run -- you get the advantage by bluffing sets that they know, and then pulling a CM or an energy ball on the switch :] cool team.

I imagine it loses a lot of impact when you vs someone for a second time, though. It's too bad you had to post it publicly ;--;

Thanks! Also I would've added the teambuilding process part but I had to write this in a hurry, and to be quite honest I just picked the six most viable mons on ghost and made that team heh

Congrats on winning the LTLC! The team looks great, though I have a few suggestions.
1. Sableye - Imprison sounds cool, and I can see how that counters other M-Sableyes, but like you said, it's very specific and won't have much use elsewhere. I would recommend metal burst, as it can potentially counter CM Sableye as well, while also allowing Sableye to eliminate wallbreakers.
2. Gengar - Your scarf Gengar set is neat, but I don't think you really need energy ball that badly, and it can become even more useful if you put destiny bond on it. Scarf + destiny bond helps counter a lot of fast sweepers that you otherwise can't take down, including CM Sableye if the metal burst surprise failed. (Also most people won't worry about attacking Gengar when it's still at 100% HP as sash destiny bond is far more common, so scarf d-bond is usually pretty failproof)
Those are just suggestions; I think your team is good one way or another, but you should consider these^ imo.

Thanks, and like I said Imprison is really specific BUT its the only thing I have for mega sableye and unfortunately its on EVERY ghost and dark team out there so yeah, imprison is essential on this team since I have no other way to beat that thing. Also the problem that I have with metal burst on sableye is that it works only when the opposing mon does more than 50% damage to sableye (because if it does less than that, then sableye can just stall it out with WoW+foul play and recover), and that leaves sableye kind of useless for the match because its too slow to recover on anything. Also metal burst is 1.5x only and sableye doesn't really have a good HP stat, so, its not enough to KO the opponent back in many cases.
Idk about giving up eball on Gengar, I think I really need it for the ground and water matchups because ghost is known to struggle against them. Also Scarf dbond can sometimes get you in a mess if the opponent figures out that its choice locked and keeps setting up or something, and about the beating mega sableye part, I think everyone WoW's gengar first just to scout for Dbond so that doesn't really work. Thanks for the suggestions though, they might work but like, I prefer it my way mostly because of those reasons

Also, thanks Mega Ridley :) I saw your post, don't know how it got deleted though.
