[OVERVIEW]

Mr. Mime stands out as both an excellent Choice Scarf revenge killer and a strong wallbreaker with Nasty Plot or Choice Specs, allowing it to perform multiple different roles for teams. Its unique STAB combination backed up by Focus Blast gives Mr. Mime perfect neutral coverage, which makes it fairly threatening coupled with its solid Special Attack. Mr. Mime also has access to a number of different utility moves, being the best user of Healing Wish, the best stallbreaker in the tier with Nasty Plot, and a solid lure for defensive Pokemon with Trick. Additionally, its dual STAB makes Mr. Mime perfect for checking Machoke and Monferno, and Soundproof allows it to counter Chatot, three very common threats. However, Mr. Mime's awful physical bulk leaves it easy to revenge kill and prone to being Pursuit trapped, and its Speed tier, while being solid, is still not high enough to outspeed strong attackers such as Dodrio. Additionally, Mr. Mime has a few common checks, including Metang and Mawile, that hinder its effectiveness.

Moves
========

Mr. Mime can opt for two different Psychic-type STAB moves; Psychic does more to offensive Machoke, Stunfisk, Relicanth, and other physically bulky foes, while Psyshock can OHKO Cryogonal and deals more damage to specially bulky foes such as Regice. Dazzling Gleam is Mr. Mime's main Fairy STAB move to hit foes such as Vullaby. Focus Blast rounds out its coverage by hitting Steel-types. Healing Wish allows Mr. Mime to give a second chance to weakened teammates, while Trick can also be used to cripple defensive switch-ins such as Audino and Clefairy.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature in tandem with Choice Scarf allow Mr. Mime to outspeed everything up to and including Choice Scarf Rotom-F. Maximum Special Attack investment allows Mr. Mime to revenge kill foes more effectively. Soundproof should be used if Chatot is a threat to Mr. Mime's team; otherwise, Filter is preferred to take less damage from super effective attacks, in particular Machoke's Bullet Punch.

Usage Tips
========

Mr. Mime should be preserved as a revenge killer or late-game cleaner if the opposing team has a Speed-boosting sweeper like Fraxure or Crustle. Be careful when choosing which move to lock Mr. Mime into, as it often will have multiple Pokemon able to pivot into only one of its attacks early-game. Keep Mr. Mime away from strong priority users such as Basculin, Floatzel, and Murkrow, which can KO it with little or no chip damage. If necessary, preserve a weakened teammate to restore it with Healing Wish late-game.

Team Options
========

Mr. Mime generally fits on offensive or balanced teams in need of a Choice Scarf user that doesn't need much team support to justify itself. Teammates that allow foes to set up easily such as Audino can use a revenge killing teammate. Teammates weak to Fighting such as Probopass and Bouffalant can use Mr. Mime to pivot into such foes. Checks to Steel-types such as Monferno and Stunfisk and Pokemon that can pressure or trap Dusknoir such as Pawniard and Murkrow help take on many of Mr. Mime's weaknesses. Offensive teammates like Simisear and Ninjask that wear themselves down can benefit from Healing Wish, although the partner that is healed by Healing Wish should be decided on a game-to-game basis. Pokemon such as Machoke and Ninetales can help weaken Grumpig.

Moves

Nasty Plot boosts Mr. Mime's Special Attack to break through bulky foes. Dazzling Gleam and Psyshock are Mr. Mime's main STAB attacks to hit all non-Steel-types, which are covered by Focus Blast. Psychic can be used, although it is weaker versus Audino and Regice, two foes that Mr. Mime needs to break through.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment and a Timid nature aim to outspeed and KO as many foes as possible once set up, while maximum Special Attack allows Mr. Mime to wallbreak more effectively. Life Orb boosts Mr. Mime's power but chips away at it quickly; alternatively, Twisted Spoon can be used to provide a power boost and bluff Choice Scarf but does not boosts all of Mr. Mime's moves, leaving it a fair amount weaker than Life Orb. Soundproof should be used if the team is weak to Chatot; otherwise, Filter is better for slightly reducing damage from super effective attacks.

Usage Tips
========

Set up Nasty Plot versus foes incapable of doing much damage to Mr. Mime such as Vullaby and Stunfisk. If using Twisted Spoon, it can be good to bluff a Choice Scarf by going for a single attack and switching out before surprising foes expecting Mr. Mime to be unable to switch attacks. Mr. Mime is better used as an early-game wallbreaker, as it can be revenged killed fairly easily unless facing an exceptionally slow team. Similarly, don't bother setting up Nasty Plot versus offense, as Mr. Mime can be revenged fairly easily and should just focus on getting individual KOs.

Team Options
========

Nasty Plot Mr. Mime generally fits on more offensively inclined teams as a Pokemon to break apart defensive cores. Special sweepers and cleaners such as Rock Polish Regice and Choice Scarf Chatot can use Mr. Mime's wallbreaking to sweep. Physically defensive teammates such as Quilladin and Vullaby are useful to fall back on once Mr. Mime is forced out by a faster attacker. Entry hazard setters such as Golem and Roselia can help Mime reach KOs by chipping away at foes. Checks to Dusknoir such as Pawniard or Vullaby can help, as Dusknoir it can end Mr. Mime's sweep quickly thanks to priority Shadow Sneak or Pursuit trap it for significant damage.

Moves
========

Psyshock and Dazzling Gleam are Mr. Mime's main STAB moves to deal as much damage as possible, while Focus Blast hits Steel-types that resist both moves. Healing Wish bring back a weakened teammate for a late-game sweep.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack investment combined with Choice Specs allows Mr. Mime to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding as many foes as possible with maximum Speed investment. A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed foes such as non-Choice Scarf Rotom-F, although a Modest nature can be used to augment Mr. Mime's power. Soundproof should be used if the team needs to handle Chatot more effectively; otherwise, Filter is the preferred ability.

Usage Tips
========

Mr. Mime should be brought in as frequently as possible to keep up wallbreaking pressure with strong attacks. Be careful about which move to lock Mr. Mime into, as there are many Pokemon that can pivot into one of Mr. Mime's attacks but not the other two. Mr. Mime can bluff a Choice Scarf prior to attacking, which may help to force out faster foes.

Team Options
========

Mr. Mime can fit on balanced or offensive teams as a very strong wallbreaker. Sweepers such as Ninjask, SubSalac Simipour, and Drifblim appreciate its wallbreaking support. Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Stunfisk and Quilladin can help to wear down foes even further. Spikes setters in particular are useful, as many of Mr. Mime's best checks are grounded and it threatens most entry hazard removers. Slower pivots such as Lumineon can help to bring Mr. Mime in more freely. Partners that can check Steel-types and Metang in particular such as Ninetales and Pawniard are useful, while bulky teammates such as Vullaby can help take on physical revenge killers.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Technician Hidden Power Fighting is more accurate than Focus Blast but still quite a bit weaker and sacrifices the potential of two useful abilities. Baton Pass can be used on Choice sets to gain momentum but is often unnecessary and sacrifices the utility of Trick or Healing Wish. Baton Pass can also be used with Substitute and either Nasty Plot or Calm Mind, but Mr. Mime is generally too frail to be an effective user of this. Encore on offensive sets can cause issues for opposing walls but is generally inferior to Nasty Plot. Shadow Ball can be effective on the Choice Specs set to lure in and surprise Metang and Duosion, but otherwise it isn't necessary for anything. Mr. Mime has a number of other coverage options such as Energy Ball and Thunderbolt, but they simply aren't necessary with the great neutral coverage offered by its main three moves.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Mr. Mime's mediocre bulk, faster revenge killers, particularly physical attackers such as Choiec Scarf Dodrio, Ninjask, and Simisage, can KO it with ease. However, most of them cannot switch into Mr. Mime, and many are outsped and KOed by Choice Scarf sets.

**Tanks**: Due to Mr. Mime's only middling power, tanks such as Dusknoir, Bouffalant, and Gogoat can survive an attack and do significant damage to or simply KO Mr. Mime.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Unboosted, Mr. Mime can be walled by special walls such as Audino, Camerupt, and Clefairy, although all have to be wary of switching into Nasty Plot or a Choice Specs-boosted Psyshock.

**Priority**: Mr. Mime's poor physical bulk leaves it KOed by strong priority users such as Dusknoir, Murkrow, or Choice Band Floatzel after little to no chip damage.

**Residual Damage**: Mr. Mime can be worn down by status and entry hazards, leaving it in KO range of weaker special attackers or revenge killers. Pursuit trappers such as Dusknoir and Metang can also chip away at Mr. Mime attempting to switch out.

ik this gets repetitive towards the end but it's three sets and I'll work more on it during writeup

Overview:
worth noting that it is the best stallbreaker in the tier

scarf:
in TO mention set up sweepers which like Hwish

np:
'Only set up a nasty plot versus more defensive teams, as it won't be needed versus offense' - I think it could be worded more like 'Do not set up Nasty Plot vs offensive teams', as NPing vs balance can be good depending on the team

C&C:
I think pursuit is worth noting, as Murkrow/Dusknoir/Bouffalant/Metang can easily trap and severely weaken it

Megazard QC 1/3

Mention Pokemon such as Pawniard and Ninetales as partners because they take good advantage of Metang and weaken stuff like spdef Grumpig in the latter's case (especially with Dark Pulse) while also beating Ghost-types. 2/3

Nothing much to add here. Probably add Thunder Wave to OO to slow down faster threats at the cost of coverage and it makes you not so reliant on Choice Scarf to outspeed anything not Electric-type. Other than that, nice job man.

**Tanks**: Due to Mr. Mime's only middling power, tanks such as Dusknoir, Bouffalant, or and Gogoat can survive an attack and do significant damage to or simply KO Mr. Mime.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Unboosted, Mr. Mime can be walled by special walls such as Audino, Camerupt, or and Clefairy, although all have to be wary of switching into Nasty Plot or a Choice Specs-boosted Psyshock.
