Abilities:
Sap Sipper:
This Pokemon lives on a steady diet of plants and has developed defenses to every Grass-type attack. When attacked with a Grass-type move, damage and effects are negated and the Pokemon gains a one (1) stage boost to its Attack and natural Attack stage. Self-targeted attacks do not increase the natural Attack stage.
Hydration:
This Pokemon absorbs water during the rain to heal any status effects afflicting this Pokemon.
Gooey (Locked):
This Pokemon has a thick goo covering its body that sticks to any Pokemon that strikes it with a contact attack, slowing the attacking down and reducing its speed and natural speed stage by one (1) stage.

Abilities:
Trace:
When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.

Command: Activate Trace (target ability) - 5 En - Replace Trace with the target Ability for six (6) actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.

Download:
At the beginning of the match, the Pokemon analyzes the opponent and downloads data that lets it deal more damage. This Pokemon receives a one (1) stage boost on the offense that strikes an opponent's weaker defense stat. (e.g. does more damage with special attacks when facing Aggron, which has higher Defense, and attack when facing Hypno, which has higher Special Defense. For ties, Special Attack is raised.) This boost is maintained at the end of each round.
Analytic (Locked):
If this Pokemon attacks after its target during an action, its attacks have two (2) more Base Attack Power.

Abilities:
Levitate:
This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.
Technician:
This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their one-hit or two-hit attacks that normally have 6 or less Base Attack Power to have their Base Attack Power on each hit multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, Double Hit to from 4 per hit to 6 per hit etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) Base Attack Power, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2). Because Technician is a multiplier on single hit moves, its effect is applied to Base Attack Power before any additive effects. Technician only applies to combos in the rare case that an initial hit will have 6 or less BAP.
Mold Breaker (Locked):
Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities. (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, etc.) Attacks are still redirected by Lightningrod/Storm Drain, but damage is dealt normally. Status-immunity abilities will remove their relevant status at the start of the victim's next action.

No default effect. When toggled, this Pokemon puts immense force and speed into its physical attacks, increasing the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3), but the haste used lowers their accuracy to 80% of normal.
Serene Grace:
This Pokemon has a blessing which doubles the success chance of its attack's secondary effects. (eg paralysis from Thunderbolt)
Super Luck (Locked):
This Pokemon's natural skill increases its critical hit levels one stage above other Pokemon, making its normal moves inflict critical hits 12.5% of the time and its high critical hit moves inflict critical hits 25% of the time.

About the match-ups, Avnomke has a Goomy, Porygon, Rebble, and Togepi, while ff7hero has a Cawdet, Pawniard, Nohface, and Froakie. It seems like Avnomke is at a disadvantage against all of ff7hero's steel-types. I predict that this match will be won by ff7hero.

ff7hero and Avnomke PM me their pokemon, and what they should be disguised as
ff7hero orders
Avnomke orders

I can't figure out this arena's strategy...
Cawdet: Thunder Wave (Rebble)~Poison Jab (Rebble)~Revenge (Rebble)
If Poison Jab is super effective on A2, use it again A3

Froakie: Meteor Mash (Rebble)x3
If Rebble is KO'd, redirect to Goomy

For Avnomke's team, it turns out Goomy was Rebble and Rebble was Goomy.
For ff7hero's team, it turns out Cawdet was Pawniard, and Froakie was Nohface. For the future, if you order first, you should order moves that as many of your pokemon know as possible. That way, your opponent won't know which pokemon you've sent out. If you order second, though, it does not matter.

Rebble is +Spe so Heat Wave has 120% accuracy.
Also Illusion makes it so ff7's mons target the thing that appears to be Rebble (aka Goomy), meaning that Goomy took all the attacks.

Fixed. I also rule that, if a battler decides to not switch a pokemon, it still acts like it was switched out and switched back in. Effects that are negated when switched out (i.e. boosted stats) are removed, and Illusion can re-activate.

Goomy: Muddy Water ~ Thunderbolt (Pawniard) ~ Muddy Water
Rebble: Fire Blast (Pawniard) x3
If Fire Blast is NVE against your target, replace all remaining instances of Fire Blast with Solar Beam.
If Pawniard is KOd, redirect to Nohface.

I rule that Rebble (actually Togepi) and Nohface (actually Pawniard)'s first subs are illegal.

Metal Burst deals damage based off all attacks that turn, meaning Togepi loses 9*1.25=11.25 more hp, sadly.
EDIT: I'm wrong

Last edited:
Metal Burst's description states that Metal Burst deals damage "based on the attack the user counters." I assume that this means that other attacks directed at the user of Metal Burst have no effect on Metal Burst's damage.

"Nohface": Protect ("Pawniard")~Night Slash ("Togepi")~Thunder Wave ("Rebble")
If "Nohface" uses Protect A1, replace with Metal Claw ("Togepi")
If your target uses a d/e move, replace with Iron Defense.
If your target is KO'd, replace with Metal Claw ("Togepi")

"Pawniard": Flail ("Rebble")x3
If a Pokemon with more than 54 speed targets "Nohface" with a Damaging Fire-Type move, use Protect, but only once
If target is KO'd, redirect to other foe
