Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spd
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Brave Bird

The first part of the teams offensive core. I chose Talonflame because of his illustrious ability Gale Wings. Who passes up priority Flying attacks that are only resisted by Rock/Steel/Electric typings? I chose u-turn over swords dance in order to keep up offensive pressure because the team lacks a set up sweeper and a mega. Flare Blitz is it's staple fire stab but lets be honest, I'll mostly be using Brave Bird (the unresisted stab I mentioned). Roost to shake off rocks damage. It's obvious what the 252atk evs are for. I read something about Talon needing 164spd evs to outspeed Mega Kang's sucker punch and I kept it after it was banned. Dumped the rest of the evs into hp.

not viable (Breloom) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
- Spore

I was skeptical at first of using breloom because of his horrible typing (by gen 6 standards) but it proved more than useable and has been a major key to the teams success. Talonflame and Breloom have pretty good synergy because they clear out each others threats. Breloom can crush some it's major threats (Fire/Flying types) but only on switches so I have to predict well in order to get off a shot. I couldn't let spore go and it's been useful after Talonflame picks off those grass types. Mach Punch and Bullet Seed are classic technician boosted stabs.

Breloom ily ;-; most people dumped you after Gen5 but not me.

Garchomp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Blast
- Stone Edge

Now you're probably thinking "wtf lum beri!1?" "where's da scarf!?" but with the increase of will-o-wisp being thrown around OU, I chose lum berry over any other item and it has been useful. Dragon Claw can 3HKO Defensive Rotom-W's on switches but that relies on prediction and the use of it's lum berry. Fire Blast in order beat Skarmory/Ferro two mon's who try to wall this monster. Earthquake and Stone Edge are it's main stab's. Looking for a better set or a replacement for him.

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 68 Def / 192 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 29 Spd
- Rest
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp

Arguably the most useful mon in OU it was guaranteed a utility spot on this team. 29 iv's to underspeed other rotom-w's so I can have the upper hand on those volt switches. Chesto-Rest is it's best set this generation so why not? Hydro Pump to wash away Heatran/Gliscor/Hippowdon and others. Will-o-wisp that lovely move used to cripple attackers and get some passive damage. I honestly forgot what those evs are for, I stole them from some post in the RMT section.

HeatranPixelOver-SmogonContest-1.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Roar

There isn't much to say about this mon. Heatran is used to sponge most special attacks and is the teams SR setter. Roar is to phase mon's who try to set up on him. Protect to scout moves and Lava Plume is Heatrans lovely burn inducing stab. Max Hp and Max Special Def evs.

mandibuzz_by_rapidashking-d3dleyd.png

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 224 HP / 228 Def / 56 Spd
Bold Nature
- Foul Play
- Defog
- Roost
- Taunt

"Defog and Stealth Rock? Da fuck you doing?" Well I only set up stealth rock mid - late game or whenever I KO the oppenents hazard setter. Anybody who uses this knows how much of a beast this thing is, I'm not sure what those hp and def evs are for but I switch it into almost any physical attack and it survives. Roost to shake off those hits. 56 spd evs speed creep rotom-w, so I can taunt before toxic/will-o-wisp or roost before volt switch. Foul play is self explanatory.

The team isn't perfect and I would love suggestions on how to improve the team, please don't be afraid to post.

This team is pretty solid but I just thought it was funny because I saw your garchomp set and i was like wtf lum berry? and then I saw your description and laughed.

Anyway let me run through your team real quick

talonflame- this set is unusual and I dont think sharp beak is helping too much, either use the sword dance set or change sharp beak to a choice band if you just like spamming brave birds. it will also help that uturn hit harder.

I have actually been seeing a lot of breloom so I dont think it is dying out like you think, but the set you are running is fine and is great for taking out lead smeargles.

Garchomp- I am of the people that think every team needs a scarfer, but if you want garchomp to run the lum berry I suggest using a boosting move like SD or DD instead of fire blast maybe, because heatran can deal with those steel types. Otherwise if you want four attacking moves just put a scarf on.

Your other pokes look fine but if you take off fire blast on Gchomp you seriously have TWO(not counting volt-switch cuz im cool) special attacking move, if the other team has even one decent physical wall or an iron defence passing scolipede...you lose every time. So i dont want to change any pokes but just keep in mind that you pretty much have no way of dealing with physical walls.

Lol yea being choice locked this gen is baaaad

I'll throw SD on Garchomp over Fire Blast as suggested, I have enough fire to deal with Skarmory and Ferro. Special Attacks were nerfed so bad gen6 that I didn't notice I lacked special attacks. It didn't mater either as I was able to beat most people. Thanks for posting.

Seems like a pretty cool team with a diversity of attacking types and flexible defensive play available. However, it looks like Gliscor and other physical walls who you don't hit supereffectively can cause problems (Gliscor seems to beat all the phys attackers, Heatran, and Mandibuzz). My idea is to replace Garchomp with physical M Lucario carrying Ice Punch, or Azumarill, or something more creative.

Hi robqq.
It is a very interesting team you have there, a very solid balanced team and it becomes more efficient with Mandibuzz, I really like your team, but I notice a very annoying weakness.

In this generation a pokemon is very often used, I am referring to Gliscor (SubToxic) that can set up easily on your team (Talonflame/Garchomp/Mandibuzz/Heatran), Gliscor (SubToxic) can spamm Substitute + Toxic and wall throughout your team cause Heatran is OHKO'd by Earthquake and Rotom-W can not do anything because the opponent will use Protect + Toxic + Substitute, and even with the Chesto Berry Rotom-W can not counter Gliscor.

Then I see that you have a big weakness against stall teams, the duo Gliscor + Rotom-W can wall throughout your team, i'd suggest Special Garchomp, indeed with this set you can lure easily Stalls teams and create offensive pressure against any team, because you will be able to attract Pokemon as Hippowdon/Landorus-T/Gliscor/Quagsire and kill them with Draco Meteor, and then you can also lure Rotom-W.

I hope I Helped and Good Luck with your team.

Gliscor has been a problem, I like the suggestion as well but the mega Garchomp speed drop is going to hard to play around.

I'll try it out and see how it goes, thank you for posting.
