Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch

To be clear, I think Hariyama is a must with that core so s/o whoever already posted that. The core is very weak to fighting types and Garbodor easily covers that weakness. More importantly, Abomasnow as a wallbreaker benefits heavily from previously weakened opposing pokemon through entry hazards, since the core already threatens Xatu a massive amount, Garbodor should have no problem getting up hazards which Abomasnow can exploit, even Rotom-F which isn't overly powerful without an expert belt or a life orb since it's being used for speed control benefits from hazards so I think garb is a perfect partner for this core.

Musharna @ Colbur berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Moonlight
- Signal Beam / Barrier

Mushy is able to set up easily on the threats for this core like Yama, Grumpig, Flareon and Primeape. It helps with the huge fighting weakness it has since musharna is like one of the best fighting switch ins in this meta what is a huge threat to this team. It's able to almost switch in to all the time to the threats this team has. Musharna just fills alot of holes this team has.

Thanks to Quite Quiet and MARCU5theBAW5 this week for helping choose the winners. This week's winner for threat goes to Winter's Howl and their Hariyama while the win for partner goes to FeeltheBern16 and their Xatu. Congratulations!

This week's core is...
+

Omastar @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 1 Atk / 30 SpA
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Scald
- Hidden Power [Electric]

Mismagius @ Colbur Berry / Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 44 Def / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Pain Split

Defensive Omastar is a really nice role compressor as it can run both of Stealth Rock and Spikes. Hidden Power [Electric] is nearly essential as it can get rid of and weaken common Defoggers i.e. Pelipper and Mantine. Stallbreaker Mismagius provides a really solid core as it gives a Fighting and Ground immunity while also being fast enough to combat a lot of threats that outspeed Omastar thanks to its low base Speed.

The threat nomination period will end on Tuesday. You may now post threats to this core.

Rotom @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

With a Choice Scarf, Rotom poses an immediate threat to this core. If you get rocks up, you can just click Shadow Ball for a chance to net the 2HKO on both Omastar and Mismagius. Or just get the SpDef drop. Try to keep rocks off of your side, because with with them up Mismagius gets a 12.5% chance to OHKO you with Hex.

252 SpA Rotom Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Mismagius: 204-240 (63.1 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Mismagius Hex (65 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Rotom: 182-216 (75.2 - 89.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Rotom Shadow Ball vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Omastar: 142-168 (41.3 - 48.9%) -- 14.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

8 SpA Omastar Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rotom: 121-144 (50.2 - 59.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Magmortar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
Mild Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Earthquake
- Thunderbolt

Magmortar does a nice job against this core. HP Grass OHKOs Omastar and Mismagius can't really touch this thing: 0 SpA Mismagius Hex (65 BP) vs. 64 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Magmortar: 51-61 (16.6 - 19.8%) -- possible 6HKO. Fire Blast can 2HKO Mismagius.

Skuntank @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Beats both members of the core with HP Grass and Dark Pulse respectively, and can switch in at least once on both, but what sets it apart from other things is that it can also remove Omastar's hazards, which is crucial for nullifying one of its main utilities. Defog Shiftry is in a similar boat though it's significantly more crippled by burns, so even with access to Grass STAB this is a bigger threat imo.

Pyroar @ Life Orb / Flame Plate
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature / Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Wild Charge / Wil-O-Wisp

Female Pyroar is way better looking @_@. Anyway this Pyroar set pretty much murks the core. HP Grass OHKO's Omastar with Life Orb, and Pyroar can switch into Mismagius with impunity as it doesn't fear Taunt or Pain Split, and is immune to Hex and Wil-O-Wisp. Nothing crazy but a really big threat to the core.
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroar Hidden Power Grass vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Omastar: 406-478 (118 - 138.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroar Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Mismagius: 199-234 (61.6 - 72.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Magmortar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
Mild Nature
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Earthquake
- Thunderbolt

Looks like Magmortar is a better partner for this core than it is a threat. Earthquake 2HKOs Pyroar and Magmortar, Fire Blast 2HKOs Skuntank and Rotom (maybe Rhyperior too). The threats posted earlier can't really hurt it except for EQ from another Magmortar and Pyroars Hyper Voice 3HKOs it.

Sorry for the gif but i couldn't resist .-.

Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
- Facade
- Fake Out
Though I would probs use t spikes omastar with kanga it's still a pretty solid partner for these two since it loves the residual damage from spikes a lot more than most Pokemon. Being able to wear down steelix, rhydon and opposing omastar makes kanga a lot more threatening as the game goes on. Also is a half decent switch in to rotom which does pressure this core a ton.

Hariyama @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 232 SpD / 24 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Bullet Punch

Oh man I'm tired of posting Hariyama, but it works here too ;-; Yama switches in and beats down on all the aforementioned threats, including the one I posted above. I opted for EQ in the filler slot so you don't even have to worry about switching out from Close Combat drops. Oh yeah, you can also keep your hands clean of filthy mons like Skuntank, taking no Aftermath damage on the kill.

Throh (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Circle Throw
- Knock Off / Bulk Up
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Throh is really cool, especially with this core. Basically as Rapture said above Rotom is a huge threat to Mismaigus and Omastar and with Guts and insane Special Defense Throh works as a great Rotom sponge. Throh also works well with the hazards that Omastar can reliably set up, as shuffling around the opponents team with Circle Throw + Stealth Rock and Spikes is crazy good.
0 SpA Rotom Hex (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Throh: 108-127 (24.3 - 28.6%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Spell Tag Rotom Hex (130 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Throh: 165-195 (37.1 - 43.9%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Sceptile @ Life Orb | Overgrow
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe | Naive
Leaf Storm | Hidden Power Ice | Focus Blast | Rock Slide

This core excels at getting up spikes and keeping them up. Obviously the best mon in the tier will only get better with reliable spikes support, especially when they wear down all of its checks barring like weezing

Thanks to iplaytennislol and MARCU5theBAW5 this week for helping choose the winners. This week's winner for threat goes to Aurosis and their Pyroar while the winner for partner goes to Winter's Howl and their Hariyama. Congratulations!

This week's core is...
+

Kangaskhan @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch

Charizard
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Swords Dance

Kang + Wispzard is cool cause Wispzard is a decent enough lix switch-in and it can bait a lot of common kang answers like bulky rocks and wear them down super easily w/ wisp. also bulky zard provides a nice fight resist for kang (even tho there aren't many fights left, this was during like week 5 of spl). also wisp zard does good vs fat shit and kang does well vs offense so you got that synergy going on.

(Credit to Can-Eh-Dian for the core + description! n_n)

The threat nomination period will end on Tuesday. You may now post threats to this core.

Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Barrier
- Moonlight
- Stored Power

Musharna's raw physical bulk and ability to further boost its Defense allow it to switch into either of these foes and boost with impunity before wiping them out with Stored Power. A Burn from Charizard is unfortunate but it's better than Toxic Poison and Musharna has plenty of recovery in Moonlight + Leftovers to give it a good matchup against Charizard, even if it boosts.

252+ Atk Silk Scarf Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 166-196 (38.3 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 8 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 240 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 166-196 (38.3 - 45.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

+2 0 SpA Musharna Stored Power (140 BP [+2 Def/SpA/SpD]) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 364-430 (101.3 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 0 SpA Musharna Stored Power (140 BP [+2 Def/SpA/SpD]) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kangaskhan: 384-453 (109.4 - 129%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Carracosta @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shell Smash
- Surf / Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Stone Edge

Bulky mons who can set up against these two are the way to go in my opinion and Carracosta fits that description. The plan to beat this core is to switch Costa in when Kangaskhan is on the field. Preferably when Kangaskhan doesn't go for EQ which can hinder your attempt at a sweep.

252+ Atk Kangaskhan Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Carracosta: 114-135 (39.4 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 4 Atk Life Orb Carracosta Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kangaskhan: 360-425 (102.5 - 121%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Carracosta Surf vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Kangaskhan: 339-399 (96.5 - 113.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (Hydro Pump kills ofc)

You could also switch it in to Zard, since it can only burn you but it's up to you if you want to take that burn since Life Orb will already wear you down. The good news is that a Burned Carracosta will still take out Zard.

+2 4 Atk Life Orb burned Carracosta Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Charizard: 736-868 (205 - 241.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252 SpA Life Orb Carracosta Surf vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 647-764 (180.2 - 212.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Miltank @ Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sap Sipper / Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Body Slam
- Milk Drink
- Toxic / Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock / Heall Bell

Miltank can switch into both of these mons and either status them or lay down rocks which severely hurt Charizard, it can even run Heal Bell instead of SR for an easier time against wisp zard.

Some calcs:

252+ Atk Silk Scarf Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Miltank: 147-174 (37.3 - 44.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

8 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Miltank: 73-87 (18.5 - 22%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

+2 8 Atk Charizard Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Miltank: 145-172 (36.8 - 43.6%) -- 99.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Zard cannot freely boost on you or else it'll get statused.

P.S: Rocky Helmet is an option if one wants Kanga to die faster, but usually Double Edge recoil while Milk Drinking is enough to stall it out.

Garbodor (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Impish Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes

i think Garbodor goes well with this core, creating a semi-KangaSpikes core. KangaSpikes struggles with Steelix most of the time, which we have Charizard for now, to annoy it with Will-o-Wisps. it's also a sturdier Fighting-resist than Zard and zard + (toxic)spikes are a godly combination.

PrinceLucian

Banned deucer.

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Rapid Spin
- Aqua Jet

This definitely looks like core that fits well with Spikes, and with Zard being x4 weak to rocks, support of hazard removal is a must.Kabutops is a really good spinner for offensive teams, and adds another priority which can help a lot to finish weakened threats, it also pairs excellent with Zard as it can take on its weaknesses really well with the bulky set.

Tangela @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 236 HP / 48 Def / 224 SpA
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Tangela is a neat partner to this core, being able to pivot into Rock, Steel and Ground-types which annoy this core, as well as crippling things such as Garbodor or Weezing with Sleep Powder on the switch. Tangela also helps handle Fighting-types that are locked into CC or Stone Edge which is especially beneficial for Zard.

Thanks to Blast, Shadowtags, lolbro, Brick Small., and Blaziken. this week for helping choose the winners. This week's winner for threat goes to DaKakz and their Miltank while the winner for partner goes to Shadestep and their Garbodor. Congratulations!

This week's core is another one ripped from the Good Cores thread (that also happens to be winning in my Matchmaking thread lol)...
+

Primeape @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Skuntank @ Lum Berry
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 Atk / 176 SpDef / 80 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Poison Jab

this one isn't innovative at all, but it's something i should see more. alot of teams are just running a ghost or like defensive mesprit as their fighting resist right now which makes primeape really strong imo. obviously you just U-turn out of ghosts into skunk and trap them, the concept's not difficult to understand, but i think it's really effective in the current meta and more people should use it.
(credits again to Can-Eh-Dian for the core + description)

The threat nomination period will end on Tuesday. You may now post threats to this core.

Tauros @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Climb
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Zen Headbutt

Doesn't switch into either at all, but outspeeds and OHKOs both with the respective move. Not really much to say here, Tauros is always really scary to face, especially for this core.

252 Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Tauros Zen Headbutt vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Primeape: 369-437 (136.1 - 161.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO [more accurate than climb]

252 Atk Life Orb Tauros Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 328-387 (94.5 - 111.5%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO [dies after rocks or on a good roll]

Vileplume @ Black Sludge
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Moonlight
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Ground

Defensive Vileplume shrugs off anything Primeape or Skuntank want to hit it with, even having Effect Spore to punish them. HP Ground lets Plume deal with Skunk quicker, while Sludge Bomb 2HKOs Primeape.

Archeops
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Filler

Similar to Tauros, Archeops cannot really switch into either members of this core, but greatly threatens both offensively, as it can OHKO Primeape and Skuntank with Acrobatics and Earthquake respectively (watch out for Sucker Punch, though). All you need to break this core is Acro + Earthquake, so Roost is just there to assist Archeops in Sucker Punch mindgames, and general utility outside of beating the core. Last slot is whatever suits your team bests.

252 Atk Archeops Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Primeape: 572-674 (211 - 248.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Archeops Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 320-378 (92.2 - 108.9%) -- 50% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Rocks)
