Other OM FU team

Hey guys, so this is a team that i have been using in the new tier FU on PS. Ive done very well with it, and then only time i have lost with it is when i have been haxed out of the win (i.e. getting para'd by thunderbolt and then being fully para'd the next two turn, etc. etc.) so without further ado, here is the team.

Electabuzz @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic

So ive noticed that most of FU teams dont tend to carry ground types, so having this jolly scarfed buzz with volt switch is a perfect way to start the game and make sure that i can get a more favorable match up with another member of my team. I havent been sure what 4th move would be the best for buzz, so currently im sticking with psychic, but i dont really tend to use it very much. He is also crucial because he outspeeds most set up sweepers after they have plus one speed, so he is pretty clutch too.

Linoone @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Extreme Speed
- Seed Bomb
- Shadow Claw

I have NO idea why this fricken thing is FU because it is SCARY. with the help of getting inside from buzz, linoon can come in on a switch to a wall that cant status or do more than 75 damage (or 63 if SR are up), belly drum, and say GG in whatever furry language ferrets speak. He has gotten me many a rage quits, and with decent speed he can outspeed anything that can survive an e speed and hit it with one of the coverage moves. He is a nice late game sweeper that if used at the right time can be devastating.

Marshtomp @ Eviolite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 52 SpD / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Scald
- Earth Power

Since most teams in FU run ebuzz, i figured a ground type would be pretty helpful. also with rapidash running rampant, having a solid flare blitz switch in is mighty helpful. ANother positive is that since most ebuzz run eviolite or whatever the f*ck they run, in most cases MY buzz will outspeed an opponents buzz so i can volt switch out into this little guy on the opponents volt switch and either go for toxic or SR depending on the predicted switch in. also he pretty much stops Ebuzz in its tracks if it isnt running hp grass.

Fraxure @ Eviolite
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 172 HP / 140 SpD / 196 Spe
Serious Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Poison Jab

Fraxure hasnt done a whole lot for me in the past, but just the threat of having this little monster set up in the face of an ill-prepared team is threatening in its own right. dragon/poison is surprisingly good coverage for anything that wants to switch in on this guy, and with decent speed and bulk, it can sub before most walls try and status, live most wall's special hits that arent super effective, and set up to try and get a sweep. i run 196 speed to outspeed base 50 pokes that are fully invested. He isnt the most amazing member, so i wouldnt be completely against a replacement of sorts for him.

Swalot @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 240 HP / 16 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Earthquake

I had no idea how helpful this guy would be. For being FU, hes got great bulk, and swallows most special hits (get it? get it????) thrown his way. He is a perfect switch in for the annoying leech seeders in the tier because of liquid ooze and sludge bomb. Also, poison/ground is also surprisingly decent coverage for things that can take Swalot on. Having rest makes it so you can stick a big middle finger at your computer screen every time you get scald burned because it dont matta, swalots just gonna nap for a bit and be A OK. but he still puts in work even when he's catching Z's with sleep talk. I really like this guy as a member.

Frogadier @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse

Frogadier is AMAZING in FU. With good speed, protean, solid move pool and good Sp. Atk., he'll probably be suspect tested soon and put in ubers. Oh wait, wrong evolution. But like his big brother, Not a lot can handle this guy and survive. he applies great offensive momentum and can lead to some killer predictions. i recommend him on ANY team.

Well, there you have it folks. I havent played a lot of games with this team, but im currently sitting at 1217 on the ladder, and the only times ive lost are when cb ninjask crit my linoon for the win. Tell me what you guys think and let me know if there are any improvements i could make!

Hey Iamlegend666, this team looks like it has a really solid concept, but sort of fails in some areas. First of all, there is no reason not to run 252 speed fraxure, and serious nature has no effects, and should be replaced with adamant. Taunt is also better than substitute for setting up on more mons. Swalot also shouldn't run calm, as it cuts into attack for earthquake, sassy>calm is much better as swalot won't be outspeeding much anyway. Sticky hold is also the preferred ability to keep items after a knock off. Linoone, while being good, really needs the proper support to be effective (screens, memento, etc.) and this team just doesn't have it, which is why I'd recommend quick feet ursaring over linoone. Frogadier needs gunk shot to hit clefairy and spritzee, so that should be exchanged with dark pulse, as it only hits metang and grumpig, which you can hydro pump. Even with all of these changes, the team still looks a bit weak to Arbok. Since fraxure is your most easy to replace, I'd recommend trying a scarf krokorok to help deal with Arbok, and change electabuzz to an eviolite set, as scarf just isn't a good set in FU right now. Since you didn't really know what fourth move to run, signal beam is the most optimal move to run normally to hit krokorok, grumpig and zweilous, so that can fit in over psychic

Hi iamlegend666 first off welcome to Smogon! Seeing as you're new I'm going to recommend you join the mentorship program which can be found here. Next everyone enjoys looking at sprites as it makes reading your RMT easier, I like using this site http://pldh.net/ and its easy to get the sprites from there. You search for the Pokemon, then click on sprites, then on the sprite you want, and then copy the BB Code, and then paste it where you want the sprite to show up. Lastly adding in an importable at the bottom of your thread in hide tags so people can try out your team if they so wish is a nice way to finish an RMT off. Hide tags are made by doing [ hide=title ]stuff youre hiding[ /hide ] with no spaces between the brackets.

Now lets get onto the rate, I'm going to keep it small cause I think Megazard Z has actually given you a really good one and fixed pretty much any problem you might of had. Just wanna comment on some of the decisions and give my own point of view on them. First off your team has really nice synergy with each other and you have a pretty cool U-turn core going on with Electabuzz and Frogadier. I think that the change of Signal Beam > Psychic might be a little bit redundant as HP Ice already hits 2 of the 3 targets that were mentioned almost as hard and you can always just volt switch on grumpig into something to handle it. Next I think you should keep Liquid Ooze, as its actually a really cool idea to hurt Leech Seed mons, while also getting some nice damage on a predicted Horn Leech from Gogoat, Sticky Hold is nice as well as it provides a Knock Off absorber but from what I've seen there aren't to many users so having something to deal with those annoying Grass-types is cool. The change of Ursaring > Linoone is a good one and I would definitely make it, even though you don't need screens + memento support to set up consistently with Linoone, Ursaring provides the role that Linoone fills while still being a fast threat against more offensively based teams. I am going to suggest having Swords Dance > Protect on Megazard's suggested moveset as this will allow you to boost past and break more defensive teams as there is pretty much nothing that wants to take a +2 Facade / coverage move from Ursaring. You also don't need Protect as you have a voltturn core to easily bring in Ursaring unharmed and activate its Toxic Orb.

So the main thing to get from the above text, and the reason I commented, was to give you some advice on how to make your RMT a bit better as you had a really cool team that only needed a couple of tweaks. And to recommend the Swords Dance on Ursaring as that is the one change I would of suggested myself and I seen no reason to try and alter the team when its already so good. Anyways, good luck with the team and laddering and nice RMT![/hide]
