Welcome to RMT's 1st ever Team Rater Competition! In this tour, we'll start off with 32 participants (or however many sign up), and instead of battling each other, we, the hosts, will provide a team to be rated each round. For each round, participants will rate the given team, and then submit it to the Team Raters they are assigned. When each round is over, the people who submit the best/better rates will move on to the next round. This time around, it will be for OU Team Raters.

Some key points of interest:
  • The rates in the final 3 rounds will count towards the Team Rater
    badge
  • The winner will be given voice in the RMT room on PS! (If you are currently an active voice and win, you may be promoted to driver)
  • Each round will last one week, meaning you have to submit your rate to your designated Team Raters within that time period.
  • If you are eliminated and would like some feedback on your rate, including why you weren't able to move on, you are more than welcome to ask the Team Raters you were assigned to submit your team to.
Failure to provide a rate or a valid reason within the time period allotted will result in a disqualification.

Participants 1 through 16 will PM me (Team Pokepals) their rate and participants 17 through 32 will send their rate to Enki. For this round, you will have Sunday through Saturday night at 11:59 PM EST to submit your rate.

Without further ado, here's the team for Round 1: Credit goes to fleggumfl for making it!

Tyranitar @ Tyranitarite
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Fire Punch

I wanted to build around Mega Tyranitar because it is an underrated threat in OU with its incredible attack and bulk and ability to crush teams lacking fast Fighting types after a Dragon Dance. I chose Fire Punch as the coverage move in order to lure out Scizor and Ferrothorn, which Jirachi cannot lure as it lacks Hidden Power Fire.

Jirachi @ Expert Belt
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Iron Head
- Thunderbolt
- Icy Wind
- Energy Ball

Lure Jirachi is a cool teammate for Mega Tyranitar as it lures out the Pokemon it is troubled by such as Hippowdon, Landorus-T, Garchomp, Rotom-W, Azumarill, and is capable of switching into Fairy types that annoy Tyranitar such as Clefable, Sylveon, and Mega Gardevoir. It also handles Latis and Celebi which helps Keldeo a lot.

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Secret Sword
Keldeo was chosen as an alternate win condition, a Dark type switch in, and SubCM is very under-prepared for right now, with Celebi dwindling in usage and common Pokemon such as Mega Scizor are turned into complete set up bait. It has great offensive synergy with Tyranitar since they can both break down each others checks and are capable of overloading Pokemon that check the both of them such as Azumarill and Mega Venusaur.

Landorus-Therian @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
The team lacked a Ground immunity, something to annoy Mega Lopunny, and something to cover Sand and Lando-T fits that perfectly. Offensive Rocky Helmet is capable of dishing out heavy damage to the likes of Hippowdon and Garchomp while pressuring Excadrill and Mega Lopunny, two big threats to the team. It also appreciates Keldeo being able to switch into Weavile.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 88 SpA / 168 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
- Dazzling Gleam
- Magnet Rise
Klefki was added as the team is just run over by opposing Fairies and Spikes help break down Keldeo's and Tyranitar's checks quickly in order to let them sweep. Thunder Wave provides necessary Speed control in slowing down threats such as Charizard X, Mega Altaria, Tornadus-T, and Mega Alakazam. Dazzling Gleam with 80 SpA EVs allow Klefki to pressure Mega Sableye and set up Spikes more easily. Magnet Rise allows Klefki to annoy Mega Diancie and Ground types such as Hippowdon.

Tornadus-Therian @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- Heat Wave

The team was very weak to Serperior and pretty weak to Stall teams so LO Taunt Tornadus-T was chosen as the main stallbreaker, it's high damage output, ability to heal off damage with Regenerator, and access to Taunt to prevent status moves and recovery moves make it a very potent threat. Heat Wave was used over Superpower in order to pressure Skarmory more and also have a more accurate option to hit Serperior with. It also functions as a Keldeo check which this team really appreciates.
