Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Dragon Claw

charizard x is a great teammate for Thundurus-i, he helps the genius to eliminate the bulky grass as amoonguss, mega venu, also is a very good counter for mega mane, raikou and Bisharp giving trouble Thundurus, in return helps Thund zard against bulky grounds as hippo, lando and against the bulky water as slowbro

haxorus-2.gif

Haxorus @ Lum Berry / Focus Sash
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Swords Dance
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Poison Jab

NP Thundurus is hopelessly stopped by Special walls like Chansey and is made useless by unaware mons like Quagsire and Clefable (heck, even MG Clefable gives Thundurus more than it can bargain for). These mons are also capable of beating up most stall mons as well so I think most would agree that the perfect partner for Thundurus would be a physical attacker. Enter Haxorous. After a single SD he is capable of sweeping all the common threats for Thundurus:
+2 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Haxorus Outrage vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 625-736 (97.3 - 114.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Haxorus Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Rotom-W: 360-424 (118.8 - 139.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Haxorus Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 378-445 (95.9 - 112.9%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
+2 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Haxorus Poison Jab vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 368-434 (93.6 - 110.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

As far as the items, it's dependent on what you wish/need to prevent. The Lum Berry is used largely for handling Burns and when you get confused after Outrage. As you no doubt noticed from my calcs, Haxorous needs to get an SD off to be relevant which is why I put Focus Sash as a possible secondary. If you aren't worried about Burns then the Focus Sash will guarantee you get an SD (assuming no hazards) even if it requires you to tank a Fairy Blast.

Yes, I know this is a very risky partner and they can get walked on by Sylveon but what Offensive 2 Mon Core isn't risky and without threats?

metagross-mega.png

Metagross
@ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Hammer Arm
- Grass Knot

There are a few things Thund has a hard time breaking. The main two are Unaware Quagsire and Clefable. Another one is Mega Venusaur, who takes even +2 Thund-I's attacks comfortably and hits back hard with Sludge Bomb. This is where Mega Metagross comes in. It's one of the best offensive switch ins to Mega Venu, a Pokemon every team with NP Thund-I needs to take into consideration when building. Unaware cores are threatened by the combination of Meteor Mash and Grass Knot, which Thund-I appreciates.

There are many other things Mega Metagross brings to the table. One is a useful set of resistances alongside Thund-I. Another is softening up certain Pokemon for Thund-I. An example is Hippowdon. Standard variants take 56.6 - 67.1% from Mega Metagross' GK, putting it low enough on health for Thund-I to kill later. Another important point to mention is how Mega Metagross is able to reliably check Latios and Mega Altaria. Even though they don't enjoy a boosted HP Ice, having a good response to both is crucial because they are often used as checks and deal a ton to Thund-I with their STABs. Lastly, Thund-I takes advantage of the steels used to wall Mega Metagross, such as Skarmory. It does a good job of breaking down teams for Mega Metagross to take advantage of, and the two work well overall.

Week 41 - Bulky Swords Dance Mega Scizor

scizor-mega.gif

Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 44 Def / 200 SpD
Impish Nature
- U-turn / Knock Off
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost

AoA Keldeo

Keldeo @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind

Here we have AoA Keldeo which is able to check well some special Fire coverage i.e. the commonly used HP Fire thrown at Scizor's face. Scald has a good utility because it can help Scizor's durability towards many physical attackers allowing our Mega evolution to set-up freely at +2 or more without taking too much damage. Secret sword removes annoying Steel types Scizor can't handle without boosts (i.e. a weakened Ferrothorn) and Icy Wind is for coverage and helps towards fast attackers i.e. Lati@s. Hydro Pumps obliterates opposite Fire types.
Keldeo loves a slow U-Turn to enter safely in the battlefield towards a predicted Fire/Steel type which could counter Scizor.

No love for Offensive SD Mega Scizor? :-(

Anyway, nominating Kyurem-B.

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Fusion Bolt
- Roost

Kyurem-B helps Scizor to scare away defensive threats such as Skarmory, Heatran, Rotom-W and Landorus-T. In return, Scizor counters Ferrothorn, Clefable, Mega Diancie, Mega Metagross and Lati@s ( non-HP Fire variants ). Just pack an answer for Fire-types.

latios.gif

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power Fire or Earthquake
- Roost

When using this Mega Scizor, covering Keldeo and Charizard-Y is important. They come in on Mega Sciz with ease and can use its presence to pressure a team with strong hits. Others such as Rotom-W and Mega Manectric are also essential to cover. While there are definitely other problematic Pokemon for Mega Sciz, the ones mentioned are some of the main issues and they have to be taken into consideration when building. Latios makes a good partner for this reason, checking the aforementioned threats rather well. In addition, Latios has the potential to lure the likes of Heatran with Earthquake, which helps pave the way for an eventual Mega Sciz sweep.

Mega Sciz offers equal amounts of support in exchange for this help. Dark types like Tyranitar and Weavile are big issues for Latios. Mega Sciz handles those two reliably and can use them as fodder to SD up and potentially sweep a team. There are several other things Latios dislikes seeing. Examples include Metagross, Clefable, Altaria, and Gardevoir. These are all threats Mega Sciz can check well and take advantage of in one way or another. All in all, these two have great synergy together and do a good job covering each others weaknesses. It may not be the most creative of cores out there, but there is a reason these two are commonly seen together on teams.

I'll reserve Slowbro.

Drown (Slowbro) @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave
- Psyshock / Calm Mind

Slowbro is a fantastic partner to Bulky SD Mega Scizor because it can easily deal with common Fire types, most notably Heatran, and can cripple Chary-X with Thunder Wave. Slowbro can also wear down physical walls Scizor has trouble getting past such as Skarmory and Hippowdon. In return, Scizor can threaten Grass types with U-Turn & can also set up on powerful Dragon types such as Latios (Lacking HP Fire) and Mega Altaria (Lacking Fire Blast).

EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature

Suicune sets up on stuff like Heatran and Talonflame and can roar out DD ZardX, it it tries to setup cause CroCune is the usual set used in OU. It basically turns all of MScizor's checks/counters(most of them) into setup bait, and can roar out other mons that try to boost alongside it and can even exploit hazards, which make it so amazing.

Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Protect

Mega Diancie scares out Mew's #1 enemy, Mega Sableye while also being able to check Fire-types such as Heatran, Talonflame and Mega Charizard-X who are not threatened at all by Mew. It can also act as a soft-check to Weavile, Bisharp and Tyranitar who threatens Mew with Pursuit. In return, Mew wears down AV Metagross and Taunts Skarmory and Ferrothorn which Diancie hates. Psychic is an option over Knock Off on Mew so that Mew can defeat Mega Venusaur and Clefable which Mega Diancie dislikes.

AoA Keldeo

Keldeo @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind

Here we have AoA Keldeo which is able to:
(a) OHKO or, at least, 2HKO Fire types which checks Mew;
(b) deal with most Pursuit users (Tyranitar, Bisharp, Weavile bar AV Metagross) and Dark types which are threatened by the Fighting STAB.
Pretty basic set/idea.

In return, Mew wears down AV Metagross with Will o' Wisp and Taunts Skarmory and Ferrothorn which would be able to deal with Keldeo with their STAB.

Altaria
@ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 168 SpA / 92 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Fire Blast
- Roost
- Earthquake

Some main threats to Mew are Mega Sableye and both Charizard formes. Special attackers like Keldeo, especially Sub CM variants, are included. These are all big threats, so having them covered well is necessary because of how easily they abuse Mew's presence. That's where Mega Altaria comes in, serving as a good response to those threats and more. Although Mew is able to wear down Heatran with Knock Off and SR up, it also appreciates Mega Altaria's ability to potentially eliminate Heatran with Earthquake. Heal Bell is also an option over EQ to remove any status effects from Mew. This is nice because Mew has a tendency to be worn down by burns from Scald or when trying to WoW Synchronize a Mega Sableye.

What does Mew offer back? Well, special Mega Altaria usually has trouble breaking through defensive Pokemon like Clefable, Mega Venusaur, and Chansey. These are all things Mew is able to easily take advantage of and abuse, making it a nice partner. Something that shouldn't be underestimated is the amount of threats Mew and Mega Altaria cover in only two slots. This gives a builder some flexibility when choosing the four remaining members to cover the likes of Weavile and Talonflame, two big threats to this core.

Mew would love to be paired with something that completely puts MSableye out of the picture, what better than Clefable, the most splashable mon in ou atm?

clefable.png

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave

What does Mew offer to Clefable in the exchange? It can floor stall which this set can't do, and if running a physically defensive set can switch into things like MMetagross, and cripple them for the rest of the game with WoW stopping them from ever getting in Clefable's way for the rest of the game. Also keep in mind that EQ is a viable move on Mew to lure Heatran for certain teams, although Knock Off generally has more utility; if Mew DOES run EQ then you basically eliminate another threat to Clefable's sweep!~

lopunny-mega.png

Lopunny @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Ice Punch
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick

Mega Lopunny absolutely appreciates Mew wearing down opposing bulky teams thanks to the combination of knock off + will-o beating a lot of mons 1v1 that mega lopunny struggle to beat like mega venusaur and bulky grounds in general. In exchange mega lopunny easily dispose of the dark types that annoy mew like bisharp, weavile and tyranitar and having an excellent matchup against offense, where mew could easily find itself overwhelmed and dealing with mega sableye thanks to scrappy, only bulky element on teams mew cant beat.

manaphy.gif

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Tail Glow
- Rain Dance
- Scald
- Energy Ball/Ice Beam

Manaphy and Mew form a pretty good anti-stall core. Manaphy being able to beat some mons which trouble Mew like MSab, Heatran, Talon and most fire types barring Zards allowing Mew to become a really annoying threat late-game if Manaphy gets the opportunity to set up properly.

For those of you who truly hate facing stall, there's no better partner for Mew than Stallbreaker Togekiss

togekiss.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Air Slash
- Roost
- Heal Bell

Two stallbreakers might seem like a little much, but with stall currently dominating the top of the ladder you can never be overprepared. A team can't rely solely on Mew to handle stall, especially when Mew is countered by Mega Sableye, one of the most common Pokemon seen on stall teams. That's where Togekiss comes in, as it can often just set up and outright 6-0 common Mega Sableye stall builds such as Shedinja stall. Mew also hates any form of status, hindering its longevity and its ability to break down stall, but with Heal Bell support from Togekiss, this is no longer an issue. With both Mew and Togekiss, very rarely will you come across stall that you cannot break. Where Mew fails, Togekiss can usually succeed and vice-versa. If all else fails, Togekiss can always just flinch stall stuff that Mew has burned.

The great thing about Mew and Togekiss though is that they can do far more than just break down stall. There are often situations where either Mew or Togekiss can just win, and both are very good at neutering each others checks and counters. Togekiss can easily switch in on those Dark and Bug type moves that Mew hates, while Mew is able to take on and burn threats to Togekiss such as Jirachi, Ferrothorn, Metagross and Kyurem-Black. Sometimes it's even worth sacrificing Mew to get a burn or Knock Off on an opposing Pokemon like Heatran, Tyranitar or Scizor in order to open up a sweep with Togekiss.

Week 43 - Swords Dance Bisharp

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

scizor-mega.gif

Scizor
@ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Bug Bite

Mega Scizor and Bisharp form a powerful wallbreaking duo. They share very similar checks and do a good job weakening them down for one another. For example, Mega Sciz is able to weaken common responses like Garchomp and Keldeo. Once they are softened up, they won't be able to reliably handle Bisharp when the red ranger finds the chance to SD later on. This works both ways, meaning Bisharp can do the same thing for Mega Sciz. Other examples include Hippowdon and Skarmory, as they are overloaded by the core's SD boosted attacks and become too weakened to Whirlwind their boosts the second time around. So many teams rely on these Pokemon to stop Bisharp and Mega Sciz, so pairing them together works wonders.

Aside from effectively wearing down shared checks, Mega Sciz is able to take advantage of several Pokemon Bisharp dislikes. Terrakion, Breloom, and Scarf Tar are examples of threats able to revenge kill Bisharp. Mega Sciz is able to scare them away and take advantage of their presence to SD up and potentially sweep. Offensive teams love having several forms of powerful priority, and Mega Sciz provides this alongside Sucker Punch. Doubling up as a Clefable check is another under appreciated contribution by Mega Sciz. This may seem like a minor thing, but considering how easily Clef outlasts its checks and how quickly Bisharp can be worn down, it's definitely useful to have.

Latios helps with Bisharp's biggest weakness, fighting types. Able to effectively beat all relevant fighting types in OU, Latios makes it easier for dark spam. Also able to beat things like Tank Chomp and Zard X adds more relevancy for Latios to be partnered with Bisharp. Bisharp is also able to pressure fairies which makes dropping Dracos easier for Latios aswell.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power Flying / Focus Blast

Thundurus is used as a partner for Tyranitar since it is able to check Keldeo, Breloom and Talonflame which are common checks to Bisharp. Grass Knot is a great move to lure Hippowdon, Quagsire and Gastrodon which is nice for a Bisharp clean up. Hidden Power Flying is used as a secondary STAB move to hit Mega Venusaur, Breloom and Chesnaught although Focus Blast gets rid of Excadrill, Tyranitar and Ferrothorn. Thundurus also forces Charizard-X out with the threat of Thunder Wave. In return, Bisharp gets rid of Lati@s and Clefable which Thundurus dislikes.

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

SD Weavile creates a potent setup spam/darkspam core alongside Bisharp that can very easily overwhelm teams with the sheer level of offensive pressure. They share a large number of checks, although Weavile covers fat grounds for Bisharp while Bish covers fat fairies for Weave.
