Power Beyond Imagination (Gen VI OU)

Hello friends. This is a team that I am aiming to get >1700 with, and currently it has proven to be extremely effective. I am posting this to share my team with you guys, and I hope you can give me constructive feedback to help me on my quest :3

Anyways, enough with the boring talk, lets have a look.

In-Depth:

Weavile_XY-2.gif

Rikimaru (Weavile) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Ice Punch
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off
- Low Kick

Meet Riki, one of the scariest offensive threats in OU (and also in DotA). This thing, with proper prediction, will at least 2HKO almost every single pokemon in the metagame, bar things like skarmory and heatran. I usually lead with either this thing, or infernape, since it can usually scare out the opposing lead with its sheer POWER.

-1 252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Landorus-T: 437-520 (114.3 - 136.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 185-218 (60.8 - 71.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Not only can Weavile destroy many common leads, it also serves as a very effective wallbreaker, revelling in the pain of defensive pokemon that are hit super effectively by its coverage moves

252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 265-312 (67.2 - 79.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cresselia: 250-296 (56.3 - 66.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

While this thing is an offensive powerhouse, it unfortunately, much like Riki, is easily countered. Scarfed pokemon that can tank an ice shard are the bane of Weavile's existence, as they will most likely OHKO it thanks to Weavile's fraility. Conkeldurr, Terrakion, and keldeo in particular are very dangerous, but I have built the team around these weaknesses :3

So that's Weavile. Moving on.

Tomatoes! (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 240 SDef / 252 HP / 16 Spd
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Funny story, I actually wanted to name this thing "Toasties!" in reference to Morta Kombat, but autocorrect didn't seem to like that idea, so here is "Tomatoes!"

This is a rather standard Heatran set, here mainly to set up SR and counter the asshat known as Aegislash.
252+ Atk Aegislash-Blade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 228-270 (59 - 69.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 240+ SpD Heatran: 112-133 (29 - 34.4%) -- 99.8% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Heatran Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 152-182 (46.9 - 56.1%) -- 27% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
Good stuff, man.

I run 16 speed EVs to outspend other Heatran, and hopefully 2HKO with earth power. Toxic is used over Roar, as I would prefer the prospect of weakening other walls for my Weavile and Infernape to finish off, rather than phase them out of the field.

That's my Ran. Next!

003-m.png

Malevolence (Venusaur) @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Relaxed Nature
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis
- Leech Seed
- Earthquake

Ahh, the VenuRan Core. This defensive core is very infamous for walling many major threats, barring a few, such as Mega Pinsir and Extrasensory Greninja. But this thing is a hell of a wall, and puts a stop to rings heatran and weavile can't handle, such as Conkeldurr and Keldeo. Terrakion is also stopped in its tracks as well, though to a lesser degree if it is banded.
252+ Atk Choice Band Terrakion Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Mega Venusaur: 168-198 (46.1 - 54.3%) -- 53.1% chance to 2HKO
Such bulk, much wow.

Doge aside, venue also help to support the team by providing it with healing in the form of leech seed. In a pinch, synthesis also is a more reliable heal. Earthquake rounds out the set by doing major damage to heatran and Aegislash-Blade. In fact, special Aegislash doesn't even do that much to me.
252+ SpA Aegislash-Blade Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 136-162 (37.3 - 44.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
This is my favourite Mega Venusaur move set, in fact :3

So there's the main wall of the team. Now on the part of the team which I had to rework so much...

infernape.gif

True Strike (Infernape) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Fake Out
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power Ice
- Vacuum Wave

Meet Infernape.
Infernape doesn't like other people.
Unfortunately for them,it has a strong tendency to kill those it doesn't like

This thing is another offensive beast, and is my main special cleaner, in conjunction with weavile. It also serves as an alternative lead to things like Landorus-T, which NEVER sees the HP ice coming. Fake Out actually has a unique purpose, that being to break sashes. Sash Lead Breloom and mamoswine used to be very major threats to this team before I introduced Infernape. Now, the former dies to fake out and flamethrower, while the latter is scared out by the prospect of an incoming Close Combat.

Additionally, it is useful for surprise butt-raping gliscor, which is otherwise very hard to take down.

Vacuum wave is there for sand rush excadrill, which annihilates half my team.
252 SpA Expert Belt Infernape Vacuum Wave vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 194-230 (53.5 - 63.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
With a little prior damage from weavile or garchomp, escadrille becomes dinner.

That's my main cleaner, who has proven to be a worthwhile addition to the team, ever since the less-than-successful Sub-split Gengar.

Zapdos_XY.gif

雷二 (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Defog
- Thunderbolt
- Heat Wave
- Roost

If you're wondering what this thing's nickname means, it's "Thunder Two" in Chinese, which, I guess it roughly translates into Zapdos :P

So anyway.

Remember how I said Mega Pinsir messes up my defensive core?

Did you also happen to realise I don't have a defogger yet?

ZAPDOS TO THE RESCUE!
Not only does this thing laugh in the face on mega pinsir, it also is a very good check to other common sweepers, such as scizor.
4 SpA Zapdos Thunderbolt vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Pinsir: 258-306 (94.8 - 112.5%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zapdos: 99-117 (25.7 - 30.4%) -- 0.9% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Zapdos: 198-233 (51.5 - 60.6%) -- 91.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

See, the resoan why this literally STOPS Mega Pinsir, is that it can come in on any scenario.
Scenario 1:
Turn1 - Pinsir uses Return, I switch into Zapdos, and with SR, I can still live another
Turn2 - Pinsir uses Return again, while I T-bolt, which will either kill it or severely harm it
If the pinsir lives, send in weavile or infernape to finish it off

252 SpA Infernape Vacuum Wave vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Pinsir: 15-18 (5.5 - 6.6%)
Even with min damage, vacuum wave will still kill after a t-bolt from Zapdos.

Scenario 2:
Turn1 - Pinsir uses SD, I switch into Zapdos, and take SR damage
Turn2 - Pinsir uses return, which won't even kill at 75% health, and I t-bolt
Once again, if it lives, send in Riki or Infernape.

So that's the bug-eater.

445.png

KAIOKEN!! (Garchomp) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Outrage

What a fitting name to such a powerful pokemon. Garchomp is my revenge killer, and it is a standard scarfed garchomp, the only difference being that I run rock slide over stone MISS, because of exactly that. The only reason why I need a rock move is to check MegaZard Y, and those pokemon that can tank a rock slide, are all dealt with by my other team members.

Thanks to Chomp's unique base 102 speed stat, it is capable of outspending MegaZard X at +1, which really help my team, since it can OHKO it with Earthquake, Outrage, and aaalllllmost OHKO it with dragon claw.

So that's my revenge killer. The team is complete.

The reason why I think this team has the potential to reach the 1700s mark on the ladder, is because i think, with proper usage and prediction, it can take on any kind of team. The only kind of team I have problems with are godforsaken Baton Pass.

But of course, one man's judgement is hardly enough. I would really appreciate it if you guys would give some constructive feedback on this team, and help me reach the 1700s. Thank you so much for reading this RMT :D
