Hello guys, this is Exploudit and this is a nice little team I made, based on Scarf Tapu Lele. Personally, Tapu Lele is definately my favorite Tapu as of now, even though I love all of them, so its clear why one of the first teams I'd be building in this Metagame would be based around Lele. This team is pretty solid imao and got me easily to the 1400s on the Ladder with no struggle at all, there are obviously many threats to this team, but mostly, at least on the mid-low ladder, I end up taking the W. I feel like the team shares lots of synergy too, and has very ease knocking out the Pokemon that wall Tapu Lele, aka the Wincon. Anyways, let's get into it...

TEAMBUILDING PROCESS
786.png

As I've said, my first choice was Tapu Lele, mainly because of its ability to dismantle teams after its checks get eliminated, the biggest threats to Lele are clearly Steel-Types, Pokemon like Celesteela, Magearna, Metagross and Jirachi can easily take anything Tapu Lele wants to go for. I choose to add Magnezone as a parter to Tapu Lele as Mag can deal with Celesteela easily, and being able to trap opposing Steel-Types is just amazing for Lele.
786.png
462.png

Seeing Magnezone's evident weakness to Ground and Fighting, I felt like Landorus-T would be an amazing partner, as it can set Stealth Rocks, gives the team a Ground Immunity and provides slower U-turns that can benefit both Magnezone and Tapu Lele. Not to mention that Landorus-T's Water and Ice weakness can be somewhat covered by Magnezone too.
786.png
462.png
645-s.png

After Lando-T's addition, the team was looking extremely weak to faster Water and Ice Types, such as Keldeo, Weavile and Greninja. Adding Tapu Fini allows those threats to be covered and allows the team to take Special hits better, Fini also has amazing defensive synergy with Lando-T and can also reset Lele's Psychic Terrain allowing to last longer when Lele is on field, Fini also gives the team a Defogger.
786.png
462.png
645-s.png
788.png

After adding Tapu Fini, it was evident that the team had a huge weakness to Grass-Types, such as Tapu Bulu and Breloom, however, this could be easily covered by Mega Metagross, which also appreciates Lele's Psychic Terrain and adds more speed to the team as well.
786.png
462.png
645-s.png
788.png
376-m.png

Finally, the team was looking for a powerful Wallbreaker, so I added Icium-Z Kyurem-Black, which also benefits from Bullet Punch being removed with Psychic Terrain, as well as Steel-types being trapped by Magnezone and is just what the team was needing to perform the best.

TAPU LELE

@ Choice Scarf @
# Psychic Surge #
Timid Nature
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Psychic -
- Moonblast -
- Focus Blast -
- Shadow Ball -
Tapu Lele is a very scary revenge killer as Lele gets extremely fast after Choice Scarf is factored in, its immunity to priority is also extremely useful and can allow it to revenge kill slower Pokemon that rely on Priority to sweep, such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Scizor and Belly Drum Azumarill.

Choice Scarf is used to boost Lele's average initial speed allowing it to outspeed anything up to Max Speed Pheromosa, Adamant +1 Mega Sharpedo and any other Choice Scarfer or Dragon Dancer with its base Speed lower than 95, such as Scarf Landorus-T and +1 Porygon Z. Psychic Surge allows Tapu Lele to summon Psychic Terrain and gain a 1.5x boost on its Psychic moves and nullify Priority for 5 turns. Psychic hits like a nuke and can take down most Pokemon that don't resist it. Moonblast is not nearly as powerful, but it is still devastating and annihilates Dark-Types, which are immune to Psychic. Focus Blast hits certain Steel-Types, like Heatran and Magnezone for Super-Effective damage and Shadow Ball allowed Lele to revenge kill opposing Lele, Mega Alakazam and Mega Metagross after some prior damage, all of which are considerable threats to the team. HP Fire wasn't really needed, since Magnezone can trap Scizor and Ferrothorn and KO both.

Lele should be played carefully, avoid switching it into powerful attacks despite is average Special bulk. As this Tapu is the team's win condition, its important to preserve it, and use only when needed. Its important to note that it can be used to Wallbreak opposing Pokemon with little Offensive presence, such as Toxapex, Tentaruel and Venusaur to an extent, but be aware of opposing Dark-types that may want to swicth-in, such as Hoopa-U and Greninja.

MAGNEZONE

@ Choice Specs @
# Magnet Pull #
Modest Nature
124 HP / 252 SpA / 132 Spe
- Thunderbolt -
- Flash Cannon -
- Volt Switch -
- Hidden Power Fire -
Magnezone is a very threatening Pokemon because it can easily trap opposing Steel-Types and destroy them with either Thunderbolt or Hidden Power Fire, Magnezone also has an amazing SpA stat and has mediocre defenses and speed, but it can make up for it with its above average Defensive typing that gives Mag many resistances and therefore, the ability to wall many prominent Pokemon in the SM OU metagame, such as Tapu Koko, Xurkitree and Magearna without Aura Sphere.

Choice Specs allows Magnezone to hit as hard as possible. Magnet Pull ensures opposing Steel-Types will be trapped by Magnezone. The Speed EVs allows Magnezone to outspeed opposing Magnezones that tend to run 128 Speed EVs. Thunderbolt hits extremely hard from Mag's huge Special Attack stat and Choice Specs, same applies to Flash Cannon. Volt Switch gives Magnezone the option to pivot around and maintain momentum, an Hidden Power Fire demolishes opposing Steel-Types, such as Scizor, Ferrothorn and opposing Magnezones.

Because of Magnezone's good defensive typing, switching it into resisted moves is OK, you can easily switch Magnezone on Celesteela, Skarmory, Scizor and Ferrothorn, just be very careful of Celesteela's Flamethrower or Earthquake (Though, neither can OHKO Zone without invesment) and Scizor's Superpower (Which is extremely rare as of now), Magneone also likes to switch into Toxapex and Clefable too.

LANDORUS-THERIAN

@ Rocky Helmet @
# Intimidate #
Impish Nature
252 HP / 208 Def / 28 SpD / 20 Spe
- Earthquake -
- Hidden Power Ice -
- U-turn -
- Stealth Rock -
Landorus-T is an extremely good Pokemon in OU, it has a very good typing, despite its 4x weakness to Ice, and works amazingly as a Physically Defensive Pokemon, even though its Defenses are quite average. Lando-T can also set-up Stealth Rocks and provide its parterns a slow U-turn.

Rocky Helmet is a staple on defensive Lando-T, and after playing around with both Rocky Helmet and Leftovers, I figured Rocky Helmet worked better. Intimidate allows Lando-T to be the tank that he is, taking physical hits better. The 28 SpD EVs allow Lando-T to always live a Hidden Power Ice from Tapu Koko, and the 20 Speed EVs allows Lando-T to outspeed Adamant 252 Spe Tyranitar and speed creeps opposing 16 EVs Lando-Ts. Earthquake is Lando-T's main STAB and hits very hard even without investment. HP Ice allows Lando-T to deal with opposing Lando-Ts, Garchomps and Zygardes, all of which could easily set-up on Landorus. U-turn gives momentum to the team and Stealth Rocks can help wear down the opponent team.

Landorus-T can switch into most physical moves with ease due to Intimidate, so make good use of it. Stealth Rocks are very important to have on the opponents field as well, since this is a VoltTurn team, and forces lots of switches. Avoid bringing Landorus-T on powerful Special hits though, as Landorus has a very bad Special Defense.

TAPU FINI

@ Leftovers @
# Misty Surge #
Calm Nature
248 HP / 176 Def / 16 SpD / 68 Spe
- Surf -
- Moonblast -
- Taunt -
- Defog -
Tapu Fini is an amazing hazard remover beacuse of its access to Defog, great bulk, amazing typing and semi-immunity to status aliments. Tapu Fini has no reliable recovery, however, therefore, needs to rely on Leftovers to increase its health. Base 95 SpA also makes Fini able to damage opponents and have offensive presence.

Leftovers is essencial for Fini to restore its health, and Misty Surge acts as a shield from Burns, Paralysis and Toxics. The Speed EVs make sure Fini outspeeds 16 Spe Lando-T, 16 SpD with a Calm Nature gives Fini a jump point on SpD and the Defense invesment allows it to take physical hits better. Surf is a decent STAB move that can damage Pokemon like opposing Lando-T and Marowak-A for some great damage, Moonblast hits Garchomp and Gyarados among others. Taunt allows Fini to stop opposing Pokemon from setting-up or recovering and Defog ensures hazards are out of the field.

Fini can switch-in on many Special moves with ease, however, if the opponent has a threatening Pokemon that needs Fini healthy to be countered, like Scarf Pheromosa or DD Gyarados, its important to avoid letting Tapu Fini get worn down, since this Tapu has no reliable recovery.

MEGA METAGROSS
@ Metagrossite @
# Clear Body -> Tough Claws #
Jolly Nature
252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Meteor Mash -
- Zen Headbutt -
- Earthquake -
- Thunder Punch -
Mega Metagross is a very powerful Pokémon in SM OU, Its powerful Attack stats, when combined with the Tough Claws boost, makes it a deadly Wallbreaker, Its high speed allows it to act as a Sweeper, and its above average bulk ensures it can take some hits before getting KOed, making it an stellar Pokémon that really shines in every aspect.

Meteor Mash is your main STAB, and it still has a nice chance to raise Metagross's Attack, allowing to wallbreak even better, and avoid Recover stalling situations. Zen Headbutt is your secondary STAB and it gets very Spammable when Psychic Terrain is up. Earthquake allows my Megagross to risk speed ties with opposing Mega Metagross, in case I need to, and it also allows me to revenge kill Heatran, Magnezone and others, even though it does not get an Tough Claws boost, its still pretty powerful. Thunder Punch may seem stupid considering Metagross will generally be partenred with Magnezone, but it allows Mega Metagross to Revenge Kill Mega Charizard-Y, which the team has no switch-ins to, if you really don't care about Mega Charizard-Y you can totally run Ice Punch, but I would'n recommend it :P.

Mega Metagross can be swicthed in on powerful resisted moves due to its great bulk and defensive typing, Bulu's Wood Hammer and Lele's Psychic really don't do much, and Megagross can threaten both with Meteor Mash.

KYUREM-BLACK

@ Icium-Z @
# Teravolt #
Naughty Nature
40 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 212 Spe
- Freeze Shock -
- Fusion Bolt -
- Ice Beam -
- Earth Power -
The first time you look at Kyurem-B the first thing you'll notice is that colossal Atk stat, and the only thing preventing it from being an actual Ubers like its white sibling its the lack of physical Ice STAB, guess what? Kyurem-B gets that in SM, Freeze Shock becomes a 200BP Subzero Slammer which is the destrution itself coming from that terrifying 170 Atk stat.

Subzero Slammer really hurts, as said above it replaces Freeze Shock, which you definately shouldn't be clicking without click the Z-move button too, for as tempting as it can be. Fusion Bolt really hurts, even though it isn't STAB, and it forms BoltBeam coverage with Kyurem's Ice STAB which only leaves a few Pokémon not hit at least neutrally. Ice Beam is the Ice STAB you'll be using after the Icium-Z has already been used, and its quite solid considering Kyurem-B has base 120 SpA. Earth Power destroys Heatran, which is the reasoning behind the 212 Speed EVs, outspeed Timid Heatran.

Honestly, Kyurem-B can be played the way you want to, just don't try to Spam Subzero Slammer because it can only be used once and it should be used wisely, if you think your opponents Mega Venusaur will switch-out and sac its Landorus with only 1% HP Left don't go for Subzero Slammer, use Ice Beam, just use your Z-Move if you're confident of what you're doing. Kyurem-B also has some great bulk, so its ok to switch it in versus some powerful attacks, but if its really needed to break past your opponents team be sure to preserve it as long as you can.
THREATLIST
485.png
Heatran is one of the team's biggest threats. Tapu Fini may look like a solid awnser, but Fini takes up to 97% from Modest Bloom Doom. Lanorus-T would also be a great awnser, but Lando-T can't switch in, fearing a Lava Plume Burn, as Lando isn't protected by Misty Terrain. Therefore, my only way of beating Heatran is revenge killing it with Megagross.
376-m.png
801.png
Opposing Mega Metagross and Magearna are already extremely troublesome to the team, mainly becuase I have no switch-ins, and I have to rely on Shadow Ball Lele to revenge Mega Metagross and Landorus-T to revenge Magearna. However, if these Pokemon get +2 Speed with Rock Polish and Gear Grind respectively, they run through my team. Magnezone could trap Magearna but Magearna tend to run Volt Swicth.

785.png
Tapu Koko is not very easy to deal with since I have to scout if it is HP Ice or HP Ground, the former can ba handled by Magnezone and the latter by Lando-T, and only Scarf Lele can revenge kill it
065-m.png
786.png
Mega Alakazam can be 1v1ed by both Tapu at full health only, but either a crit or a SpA/SpD from Moonblast/Shadow Ball can change the outcome, if both Tapus are gone, all I can do is pray Alakazam misses Focus Blast tbh. Opposing Scarf Lele its also extremely threatening but I can play around with the move it chooses, unlike Alakazam.
051.png
227.png
797.png
If you're facing Dugtrio and Skarmory/Celesteela be safe with Magnezone, since the team doesn't have many ways of dealing with Skarmory/Celesteela after Mag is gone. In case Magnezone does faint, your best bet against these mons is Kyurem-B's Fusion Bolt, but preserving Magnezone is way better tbh.
006-my.png
I have zero switch-ins for this beast, you have to sacrifice something and revenge kill it with Thunder Punch on Megagross.

Those are the teams biggest threats as of now, if you identify a threat that isn't mentioned here please warn me :]

Adamant Nature
248 HP / 36 Atk / 88 Def / 124 SpD / 12 Spe
- Bullet Punch -
- U-turn -
- Swords Dance -
- Roost -
Mega Scizor is a very potent wallbreaker, as he can set-up Swords Dance on many common Pokemon, such as Tapu Bulu and Ferrothorn. Mega Scizor's amazing typing also only leaves it with one weakness to Fire, and it has a great Attack stat, and some pretty good defenses.

Technician makes Bullet Punch 1.5x stronger, and allows BP to be a reliable Steel STAB, just be careful of Lele's Terrain, as it completely nulifies BP. Light Metal is chosen before Mega, as you're not attacking without Mega Evolving anyways, and Light Metal allows Scizor to switch-into weight based moves better, such as Weavile's Low Kick. 248 HP and 124 SpD EVs allow Mega Scizor to avoid a 2HKO from Mega Zam's Focus Blast. 248 HP and 88 Def EVS allow Scizor to survive a +1 Pheromosa's HJK. 12 Spe allows Scizor to outspeed common Magnezone sets and U-turn out. Bullet Punch hits pretty hard after Technician and Scizor's massive Attack stat, Iron Head can be used as Psychic Terrain nuliffies BP, but priority is one of Scizor's main qualities. U-turn may seem weird on a SD set, but Scizor's goal is to Wallbreak, not Sweep, and U-turn helps the team much more than Bug Bite does. Swords Dance allows Mega Scizor to get past some walls, such as Ferrothorn, Hippowdown, Clefable without a Fire-Move and Lando-T without Swords Dance. Finally, Roost allows Mega Scizor to check many Pokemon it wouldn't otherwise, and having reliable recovery is always great on such a Pokemon.

Mega Scizor is not meant to sweep, but if it can, there's no reason not to. You don't really need to wear all Scizor's checks before setting-up, but you need to be careful with faster Magnezones, which can trap Scizor and KO it. Scizor can easily come in on resisted hits too, and is the team's absolute best switch-in to Bulu's Wood Hammer.

- Hyperspace Fury -
- Zen Headbutt -
- Gunk Shot -
- Drain Punch -
Hoopa-U is a very versatile Pokemon, as it can run a Special, Physical or Mixed set. This set though, is a Scarfed Physical set that allows Hoopa-U to break through Pokemon like Latios, Tapu Koko, weakened Heatran and non-Scarfed Tapu Lele. Base 160 Attack coupled with high BP Moves allows Hoopa-U to deal massive amounts of damage, good Special Bulk allows Hoopa-U to take a Special hit as well if needed.

Choice Scarf gives Hoopa-U a very good speed tier, and allows Hoopa-U to outspeed anything up to Naughty Pheromosa and Tapu Koko. Hyperspace Fury is an extremely spammable STAB and has very few switch-ins. Zen Headbutt was chosen over Psychic not to be redundant with Tapu Lele's STAB, as one hits Physically and the other, Specially. Gunk Shot can pick some Fairy Pokemon, mainly the Tapus, Clefable and Tangrowth. Drain Punch deals somewhat well with Steel-Types and allows Hoopa-U to recover some HP.

Hoopa-U can be used as a secondary win condition but its mostly there for Revenge Killing purposes. Avoid switching Hoopa-U into any physical attack, however, it can take most weaker Special moves just fine. Hyperspace Fury is extremely spamable so there's not much worry on locking Hoopa into it, and generally, is your best option. Zen Headbutt hits very hard when Psychic Terrain is up, in fact, Hoopa-U benefits from Psychic Terrain a lot, actually.

Heatran is probably this team's biggest threat. Therefore, my only way of beating Heatran is revenge killing it with Lele or Hoopa. Lele can 2HKO with Focus Blast and is 2HKOed by uninvested Flash Cannon, though, the chance of hitting two Focus Blasts in a row is only 49%. Finnally, Drain Punch with Hoopa has only a very slim chance of 2HKOing Heatran back.
376-m.png
801.png
Mega Metagross and Magearna are already extremely troublesome to the team, mainly becuase I have no switch-ins, and I have to rely on Hoopa-U to revenge Mega Metagross and Landorus-T to revenge Magearna. However, if these Pokemon get +2 Speed with Rock Polish and Gear Grind respectively, they run through my team. Scizor can take on both of them better than any other team member, but fails to 3HKO Metagross with U-turn and only has a chance to 3HKO Magearna with Bullet Punch, though, Mega Scizor gets only 3HKOed by any of them. Tapu Fini can take one Meteor Mash from Metagross and only gets 3HKOed by +1 Magearna's Flash Cannon, however, Surf does very little to both of them and Magearna can cleanly 2HKO Fini if running Tbolt. Magnezone can awnser Magearna, but only if it isn't running Aura Sphere, otherwise, your best bet is Tapu Fini. Also, Metagrosses without Hammer Arm or Earthquake also loose to Magnezone. If Metagross ins't running Ice Punch, which it probably will be running, Lando-T is a great counter, but otherwise, Ice Punch cleanly OHKOes.

Those are the teams biggest threats as of now, if you identify a threat that isn't mentioned here please warn me :]

Hey exploudit!

I really like your team, and your RMT is exceptionally well formatted. Your team deals with most standard Pokemon really well, but it looks like it struggles versus stall teams, with Scizor Mega also unable to boost past Pokemon like Haze Toxapex, and Chansey being able to take on Scarf Tapu Lele. It also looks like it has a slight weakness to Charizard Mega Y and Pheromosa. Heat Wave Tornadus Therian and Mixed Genesect are also fairly threatening, and really can be threatening as well. The largest weakness this team has, is as you very correctly pointed out, Bloom Doom Heatran . I will try to give my advise to help rectify these weaknesses, and suggest some changes.

Rockium Z Terrakion > Scarf Hoopa Unbound

I would like to suggest running Rockium Z Terakkion > Hoopa U. Terakkion still pressures Charizard Mega Y, still manages to revenge kill Lando T (and can bait in defensive SD sets), helps revenge kill Mixed Genesect and it helps by preventing Heatran from continuosly clicking Magma Storm, and can take a Earth Power in the worst case scenario. It manages to pressure Defensive Teams with really powerful attacks, although it must be beware of Sash Dugtrio , and is not dead weight offense by getting up a Substitute or killing what ever comes on a forced switch. It also helps in easing pressure off Tapu Fini and Lando T, and can help with Mega Pinsir.

Offensive Mega Metagross > Bulky Mega Scizor

Next off, I would like to suggest running Mega Metagross > Mega Scizor. I would advise you to run Bullet Punch Mega Metagross, as it allows you to beat Pokemon like Pheromosa who you do not have great ways of dealing with as well as weakened Tapu Koko and Tornadus-T. Although Psychic Terrain does stop Bullet Punch there are plenty of times you can come in outside of Terrain, and Koko outrides your Terrain. Metagross Mega appreciates the removal of Scizor Mega, its best check, and also likes Terrakion luring Defensive Lando T and helps pressure faster teams a bit better to compensate for the loss of a Scarfer. It is also not bait for Pokemon like Charizard Mega Y and Heatran, and takes a Life Orb Tornadus T Heat Wave from full HP which is pretty huge, and Psychic Terrain boosted Zen Headbutts are hard to switch into.

Chople Berry > Choice Specs on Magnezone

Lastly, I would like to suggest running Chople Berry Magnezone > Specs Magnezone, to rectify the weakness to Mega Alakazam and Mega Metagross that replacing Scizor Mega created. This also manages to help with Pheromosa when it tries to revenge kill Magnezone, if Magnezone is healthy and isnt too necessary. Thunder Wave provides some Speed control as well. This also allows it to weaken AV Aura Sphere Magearna a bit better. This does make it slightly harder to trap Celesteela, but Magnezone still does so, and Terakkion also baits it in.

Hey AnishSomani thanks a lot for the rate :] the team does indeed look a lot better after your changes, I'll try the changes as soon as possible too. Just one quiestion though, wouldnt removing Scizor-M and Scarf Hoopa hurt the team's matchup against opposing Megagross? Cuz Scizor-M was my only switch-in and Hoopa was the only mon that could revenge kill it :/ the team looks a little bit weaker to Gross now but overall I think its worth it, once again, thanks for the feedback!! Im testing the team asap :]

Yes, replacing Scizor Mega would hurt your matchup with Mega Metagross, but with Chople Magnezone able to Thunder Wave non Earthquake Mega Metagross, and with an Earthquake Mega Metagross of your own, you should be able to play around it. Earthquake Mega Metagross is fairly rare, but if you feel concerned running a Shadow Ball > HP Fire on Tapu Lele would certainly help.

the team is not bad but the Tapu Lele abilities blocks Bullet Punch Scizor M and make Sword Dance to use u-turn seems a waste, it would be better M Metagross which has more synergy with Lele through psychic ground? also use two Scarf seems excessive to me at least that pkm Scarfati not have momentum, you could try putting choiche Specs Lele doing more harm and let the scarf in Hoopa.

you also tell I love the scarf but usually those who use the scarf can make momentum with u-turn and swich volts, uses 3 momentum without scarf so many times you are forced to change pokemon

I like the team, Kyurem breaks walls and strong selection Earth Power and only for Heatran? Also known because you have Landarus T and M with Earthquake Earthquake Metagross to handle it pretty well, I'll tell you Landarus prefer Hp ice scarf but here is fine because no setter uses of rocks ... use Tapu Fini purposes nature calm not convince me saw that its main weakness is Grass, Electric, Steel and Poison who have moved mostly special ... I'm glad you followed my advice on M Metagross.
