XY OU Protect the snake!

XY OU THE SNAKE HATH ARISEN

Serperior (Cilantro) @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 Special Attack / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Dragon Pulse
- Giga Drain

This is the main reason I built this team and due to this, I built around creating as many opportunities for Serperior to set up safely. Serperior serves as a special set up sweeper that utilizes its infamous Contrary/Leaf Storm combination to allocate boosts while dealing massive damage. This set is pretty standard and really his only usable set because of his lack of coverage moves. This set is walled hard by common threats such as Heatran, Talonflame, and both Charizards etc. so his teammates are selected taking this into account by making their lives hell.

Milotic (Nessie) @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
Nature: Bold
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Toxic

Albeit I may be slightly biased due to the fact that Milotic is one of my favorite pokemon, I needed good bulk with reliable recovery to tank the hits from Serperior's threats repeatedly. She can tank many hits fairly well with Recover and leftovers recovery. She also serves as a good status absorber with her ability and overall works pretty well in tandem with Serperior I think.

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 Special Attack / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power

Anything Milotic doesn't tank/cover, Heatran does. He also serves as my SR setter which is obligatory for a hyper offense team that forces switches quite often. He answers quite nearly everything you can think of that would threaten Serperior. This is his standard Stealth Rocker set, although later I may forego this set for something bulkier.

Gliscor (Pinchy) @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Def / 200 Spe
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Fling
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake

Due to Serperior's frailty and vulnerability to many different threats/counters, you may be starting to notice a trend here, bulk. I really feel I need these pokemon to tank hits for Serperior and to clear the team so it can safely set up and sweep. Another standard set, nothing creative. Not entirely sure if Gliscor is the best choice, but it is a choice that has seemed to pay off well in many matches by being a status sponge like Milotic.

rotom-wash.jpg

Rotom-Wash (Washington) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Rest

MOAR BULK. No but really, Rotom-W is a pretty good staple in many teams, and I feel this one is no exception. Rotom-Wash provides the much needed Volt Switch support to get Serperior in unscathed and bait out dark type moves, especially knock off for Gallade pre mega evolving. Like Gliscor, Rotom can come in on predicted E-Quakes for Heatran or Latios' surfs. Due to the fact that Milotic already has leftovers, I opted for the rest/chesto set.

Gallade (Galladiator) @ Galladeite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt

When Serperior cannot sweep/the enemy team has taken out or walls Serperior, Gallade can. I needed a fast Physical sweeper and Gallade has good coverage imo. He can get free boosts from timely switches into weaker dark type moves, but shouldn't be doing this repeatedly.

I'm relatively new and inexperienced in the competitive scene so suggestions/pokemon swaps/telling me something I need to add are more than alright. I'm 99% sure there are better alternatives to some of the pokemon I chose so let me know what you think below. Thank you!
