Other PU Bulk

Howdy, everyone. This is a team I've been using for the last few days that's cool but I feel could use some work, being that it struggles against bulky physical attackers such as Bouffalant and Stoutland, as well as Togetic, which is odd because its a fairly bulky team on its own. Anyways, lets get into it.

Pokemon-Torterra-177955754

I wanted to build a team around quite possibly my favorite starter, the beast known as Torterra. I started with a rock polish + 3 attacks set, but quickly realized that I had no other mons with rocks, so I decided to make it defensive, which as a plus counters Golem, who my teams always struggle against for some reason. I went with Seed Bomb over Wood Hammer because recoil moves on defensive mons always seemed weird to me, and Shell Armor as the ability because crits are lame.
Here's the set:

Grasstoise (Torterra) @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Seed Bomb
- Earthquake
- Synthesis

POKEDDEX-DAY-28-Munchlax-347816454

After choosing Torterra to build a team around, I decided I needed an Ice resist, and I figured Thick Fat Munchlax was a pretty cool guy. Takes special hits for days and isn't afraid of anything(except Throh, with it's Storm Throw to break through defense boosts and Knock Off to get rid of its Eviolite.) I went with a specially defensive Curse set with rest talk. Curse raises it's kind of bad defense to great levels while boosting it's attack to a point where it can just kill stuff with STAB Body Slam once Ghosts are out of the way.

Tubby (Munchlax) @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Curse
- Body Slam

Replaced this with a Silk Scarf Purugly. More immediate power, especially if I switch in on a Defog and get a defiant boost. Fake Out/U-Turn to break Sturdy and switch to a more appropriate counter. Knock Off cause Gen 6, and gives pretty good coverage along side Fake Out/Return. Was running Aerial Ace over Return for a minute to counter Leavanny but decided Pelliper more than handled the job and put Return on for reliable STAB.

Oprah (Purugly) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- Return
- Knock Off
- U-turn

So now that Munchlax Purugly is on the team, I naturally want a fighting resist, right? I went with Pelipper. One of my favorite mons from Hoenn, plus it has Defog to deal with hazard stack from Garbodor. Physically defensive to help take hits from Throh a little better provided they're running Ice Punch over Stone Edge, and with U-Turn over Air Slash to form a nice little Volt Turn core with another member on my team who you'll see in a bit. Rocky Helmet over Lefties because residual damage is nice on bulky attackers such as Bouffalant and Stoutland.

Pelipper-324883187

Nigel (Pelipper) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Scald
- U-turn

With my defensive core finished(or so I thought), I decided Specs Musharna with Trick would be a cool thing to try. However, I quickly realized that my team could use some heal bell support, and a way to status that's not just through Body Slam para's or Scald burns, so it became specially defensive with Toxic. Plus STAB Psychic from Musharna is still going to hurt something unless it's resisted, even uninvested, so it's still got a little bit of offensive presence imo.

musharna

Stillborn (Musharna) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Toxic
- Heal Bell
- Moonlight

Now comes the offensive part of my team. I needed something to sponge Knock Offs, and a bulky fighting type such as Throh is pretty okay for that. AV cause AV Throh is a monster, and dual stab in Storm Throw/Circle Throw to phase out mons that are setting up. Knock Off cause this is Gen 6, and Stone Edge to hit flying types hard on the switch in. I went with max Spdef AV because Throh has so much HP already that I thought it would be a little better to invest in SpDef, A la Hariyama. This became Spdef with Bulk Up and Circle Throw to set up late game and clean teams, as well as phase out other set up mons, basically taking over Munchlax's role as set up sweeper/defensive mon.

TV-Poke-Pals-203354145

Uncle Ruckus (Throh) (M) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Circle Throw
- Bulk Up
- Rest
- Knock Off

And here I decided I could use some speed, and preferably something that can Volt Switch out and form a nice Volt Turn core with Pelipper. My choice for this was scarf Raichu. Originally I had Lightningrod with HP Ice and Focus Blast, but I got annoyed with all the Camerupt switch ins so I replaced Focus Miss with Surf and of course by doing so I had to replace Lightningrod with Static. Which is lame. This became a scarf Rotom-F. Trick support to lock annoying mons such as Togetic or Clefairy into set up/cleric moves is always nice. STAB Boltbeam in Volt Switch/T-Bolt/Blizzard is also very cool as well.

309566338

Jerry (Raichu) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Running (Rotom-Frost) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Ice]

There's my team. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey pastanator, this is overall a pretty decent team. I really just have one big suggestion: no av on throh. Throh isn't a particularly bad user of av I suppose (although I think it's a bad item in any situation personally) but it's just so good as a resttalk sweeper I don't get why you would even want to run another set. You should at least play around with that set imo, but I guess it does have some redundancy being on the same team as munchlax. You may want to try switching munchlax to one of the more hyper offensive normal types in the tier such as purugly to prevent redundancy.

Been trying it with Spdef Bulk Up Throh and standard.jpeg silk scarf purugly and its been doing better. Also swapped Raichu with a Rotom-F cause Trick and a little more power never hurt
