This set can get you a few surprise kills with Explosion/Poison Jab on offensive pokemon and guarantee the Pursuit trap against weakened faster Pokemon such as Oricorio without playing Sucker Punch games.
Skuntank @ Darkinium Z
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Acid Spray
- Fire Blast / Hidden Power Grass
this set takes a slightly different approach to taskr's set in that it's primary goal is to maintain defog even with bulky rockers still on the field. the idea of defog darkinum z is to net you a surefire lure vs all of the stealth rock mons that try to come in on you to get back hazards up against you, especially piloswine, regirock, and colbur golurk, after an acid spray:
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. -2 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Piloswine: 390-459 (96.5 - 113.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. -2 252 HP / 200 SpD Regirock: 319-376 (87.6 - 103.2%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. -2 4 HP / 0 SpD Colbur Berry Golurk: 465-547 (145.3 - 170.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
everything else is less bulky so they usually just die anyway. black hole eclipse also koes gastrodon in the same manner if they use that to bring it in on you and black hole eclipse in general is just a strong nuke.
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Aggron: 289-342 (102.8 - 121.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Musharna: 404-476 (93.3 - 109.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Skuntank Black Hole Eclipse (160 BP) vs. 64 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Magmortar: 135-160 (43.9 - 52.1%) -- 14.8% chance to 2HKO
A set meant for sweeping offensive teams late-game. Z-Hone Claws let you get to +2 Attack, which can be very dangerous with Skunk's good speed tier and Sucker Punch. No one expects Skuntank to be a setup sweeper, so people often wouldn't be careful around it like they would for Absol and Shiftry, for example, and Skunk also gets more setup opportunities thanks to its bulk and immunity to Toxic. Still not powerful enough to break through the fat tanks (even if you do Hone Claws + Black Hole Eclipse) but it can be scary if you play it right.
By a narrow margin of 5-4 galbia wins with Choice Scarf Skuntank!!
Exeggutor-Alola is a great Pokemon in the current metagame with its access to Trick Room and powerful STAB attacks. It's gotten especially better in the past few days since the passing of Guzzlord to greater pastures in NU. Your task for this week is to find an Exeggutor-Alola set which isn't the standard OTR or Choice Specs breaker. Good luck!
Allow me to introduce you to your doom, Alola style. So basically, this set needs to have all Fairy-types removed, but if you get the chance to go up against something passive, Block that S.O.B from escaping and Curse in its face. Trying to hit Exeggutor on its lower Special Defense stat? I don't think so cause with maximum investment in Special Defense and HP, any weak attack just gets absorbed by this Exeggutor. What's more, this thing is packing Maranga Berry which raises its Special Defense every time it's hit by a special attack. Combined with Harvest, it'll just keep boosting every time you try to get hit it with a special attack, essentially getting to +6 Attack, Defense, and Special Defense. Good luck trying to take this thing down. You'll need it.
Exeggutor-Alola has a unique Grass/Dragon typing, allowing it to pull off a SubSeed set quite nicely. Sitrus Berry + Harvest allows for semi-consistent healing, Giga Drain acts as further recovery, Draco Meteor is a absolute nuke even when uninvested, and 60 Speed EVs allow Exeggutor-Alola to outspeed 16 Speed EV'd base 50s, with the rest of his EVs dumped into HP and Defense.
Exeggutor-Alola @ Choice Band / Life Orb
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
- Dragon Hammer
- Wood Hammer
So most people think that any Alolan Eggy is a special attacker and most of the time they're right as Specs Draco hits really hard. But by using the opponent's assumption that it'll be special, long neck tree can use its fairly decent physical movepool and still relatively high physical attack to bop the special wall coming in. Dragon Hammer and Wood Hammer are very good STABs with the former being more spammable and the latter having a higher damage output at the cost of recoil. Earthquake hits steels that resist the dual STAB and Explosion is a good option for a one time nuke. Max Attack, enough Speed for uninvested base 60s, rest put in HP bc why not.
