[OVERVIEW]
Quagsire has an amazing ability in Unaware, which allows it to check almost all setup sweepers, as well as a great defensive Water / Ground typing that leaves it with only one weakness. Quagsire also gets Recover, giving it reliable recovery to check sweepers throughout the entire game. Because of Quagsire's Water / Ground typing, though, all Grass-type Pokemon in NU, such as Jumpluff, Lilligant, Shiftry, Ludicolo, Torterra, Vileplume, and Cacturne, greatly threaten it, and its only passable physical bulk leaves it unable to withstand some of the more immediately powerful physical attacks in NU, such as Zangoose's boosted Facade and Choice Band Sawk's Close Combat. However, Quagsire walls some notable physical attackers such as Klinklang, Scyther, and even Tauros. Quagsire is very tough to justify on any team archetype other than defensive teams.

Moves
========

Earthquake is Quagsire's best STAB attack due to its great power and perfect accuracy, dealing good damage against most threats that do not resist it. Scald is a good STAB move that gives Quagsire somewhat of an offensive presence and can cripple physical attackers, thus complementing Quagsire's physical bulk. Recover allows Quagsire to regain 50% of its health and keeps it healthy throughout the battle. Toxic can wear down common switch-ins to Quagsire, mainly Grass-types such as Ludicolo and Jumpluff. Alternatively, Curse allows Quagsire to raise its Attack and Defense, allowing to beat Pokemon it normally has to stall out such as Malamar and Audino. Curse's Defense boost also helps Quagsire against physical attackers like Tauros, Kangaskhan, Hariyama, and Guts-boosted Gurdurr so that it won't have to use Recover nearly as much.

Set Details
========
252 EVs in HP and Defense maximize Quagsire's defensive bulk. A Relaxed nature allows both of Quagsire's STAB moves to be at full power while lowering its irrelevant Speed stat. Unaware allows Quagsire to ignore the opponent's stat changes, allowing it to check almost all setup sweepers. Leftovers provides Quagsire with some passive recovery every turn.

Usage Tips
========
Quagsire should be using Scald and Toxic early on to wear down the opposition. Bring Quagsire in on setup sweepers, as it can check almost all physical setup sweepers lacking a Grass-type coverage move, mainly Klinklang and Samurott but also Archeops and Tauros. Avoid Toxic and other status effects if you have no cleric, as it hinders Quagsire's ability to continually check setup sweepers. Unaware can be a negative as well, ignoring defense drops from Close Combat or Special Attack drops from Overheat. Use Recover to keep Quagsire healthy and able to check Pokemon throughout the game. Use Earthquake to rack up damage along with status or just to get chip damage off. Earthquake can also nail frail Pokemon that don't mind Scald such as Jynx and Floatzel on the switch. Scout for Grass-type coverage moves like Seed Bomb from Garbodor and Hidden Power Grass from Magmortar.

Team Options
========
Pokemon that resist Grass such as Garbodor and Scyther are good teammates. Grass-types of your own can deal with opposing Grass-types well, so Pokemon like Vileplume and Ferroseed that can handle setup sweepers that beat Quagsire like Jumpluff and Shiftry work well. Heal Bell users such as Mega Audino and Sap Sipper Miltank work well to cure status for Quagsire, Miltank especially so because of the combination with Sap Sipper. Pokemon that easily get set up on such as Ferroseed and Mega Audino work well with Quagsire because it can deal with setup sweepers with ease. Grounded Poison-types absorb Toxic Spikes that Quagsire hates.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
A offensive set with Choice Band, Leftovers, or Life Orb and Waterfall, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Stone Edge or Recover rocking Water Absorb or Unaware can be used, but it is mainly for the surprise factor, as Quagsire's poor Speed, mediocre bulk, and average Attack make it a lackluster attacker. Water Absorb can be used to switch into Lanturn freely and then deal massive damage to the switch-in because of how hard Ice-, Ground-, and Water-type coverage is to switch into. Yawn can be used in the Toxic / Curse slot to shift opposing team members around and essentially force a Pokemon to fall asleep from teams lacking a sleep-immune Pokemon or a Lum Berry user. However, Quagsire is already pressed for moveslots, and Yawn doesn't benefit it greatly. Protect is also another choice in the last slot to scout for possible Grass-type coverage moves, such as Hidden Power Grass from Magmortar. Again, though, Quagsire can't really afford to give up moveslots, and it is just better to scout for the Grass-type attack by switching. Encore can help Quagsire check setup sweepers not bothered by Toxic without the need to PP stall or set up itself. Unfortunately, Quagsire is much too slow to benefit from Encore, as the two main targets it hits, RestTalk Malamar and Audino, both outpace it.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-type Moves:** Almost all Grass-types in the tier are special attackers and can hit Quagsire on its weaker defensive stat. Even physical Grass-types like Jumpluff can take advantage of Quagsire's massive weakness and hit it very hard. Weaker non-STAB and non-invested Grass-type attacks like Seed Bomb from Garbodor may not do much to a Curse-boosted Quagsire. All Grass-types bar Roselia and Vileplume don't appreciate taking a Toxic on the switch in, though.

**Physical Wallbreakers:** Strong wallbreakers take advantage of Quagsire's average defensive stats by providing constant offensive pressure. Quagsire's typing doesn't provide key resistances versus the best wallbreakers and is greatly pressured by Sawk, Swellow, Zangoose, and even Choice Band Golurk. Most of the wallbreakers that pressure Quagsire are not threatened by burns, because they either are immune to them or can take advantage of them via either Guts or Facade.

**Special Attackers:** Special attackers such as Jynx, Haunter, Vivillion, Samurott, Aurorus, and Musharna can all take advantage of Quagsire's low Special Defense and hit it with a strong STAB attack.

**Status:** Quagsire does not appreciate status at all. Quagsire can recover off burns for the most part but Toxic cripples Quagsire's ability to perform its role.

  • great ability in unaware allows it to check almost all physical setup sweepers mention what unaware specifically does and mention some set up mons it can check (klinklang!!!)
  • great defensive typing in ground/water giving Quagsire only one weakness what does its typing do for it other than give it one weakness (ie what does it check)
  • defense is good enough to let it to check a good portion of physical attackers, like kangaskhan, scyther, mawile, etc)
  • underwhelming spdef is somewhat mitigated by its resistances to common special attacking types such as electric or fire, letting it better handle mons like rotom and magmortar
  • recover gives it access to a source of reliable recovery
  • all grass type pokemon in NU greatly threaten Quagsire
  • mediocre defensive sets both defensive stats leave a lot to be desifed means Quagsire falls to most special and some item-boosted physical attacks such as Sawk's cb cc.

  • Grass types can deal with opposing Grass types well, so Pokemon like Vileplume and Ferroseed work well
  • Heal-Bell users work well to cure status off of Quagsire such as Mega-Audino and Miltank. Miltank especially so beacause of the combo of Sap Sipper Sap Sipper miltank is irrelevant
  • Pokemon that easily get set up on such as Ferroseed and Mega-Audino do well with Quagsire because he can deal with setup sweepers with ease. just reword this as "passive mons that appreciate quagsire being there to check set up sweepers that could set up on them" or smth

**Grass Types:** Almost all Grass types in the tier are special attackers, (such as?)and can hit Quagsire on his weaker defensive side. (not like what side its getting hit from w a grass type attack matters. really the only relevant physical grass type is shiftrt which beats quag regardless) All Grass types bar Roselia and Vileplume don't appreciate taking a Toxic on the switch in.

**Strong Physical Attackers:** Strong wallbreakers take advantage of Quagsire's average defensive stats by providing constant offensive pressure. Quagsire's typing doesn't provide key resistances versus the best wallbreakers and is greatly pressured by Sawk, Ursaring, Swellow, and Stoutland. (please use some better examples. stoutland and ursaring are hardly relevant enough that they are worth mentioning in c&c) Most of the wallbreakers that pressure Quagsire are not threatened by burns, because they are either immune or are Guts / Facade Pokemon.

**Special Attackers:** Special attackers such as Jynx and Haunter can take advantage of Quagsire's low special defense and hit it with strong STAB attacks such as Psychic and Shadow Ball.

**Status:** Quagsire does not appreciate taking status well at all. It can recover off burns for the most part but Toxic cripples Quagsire's ability to constantly come in, wall and Recover.(this is worded really awkwardly, rephrasing this would be great)

Dont slash curse first, its literally just for Mega Audino and Malamar while hitting Grass-types not named plume or rose is almost always better.
To anyone else who amchecks stuff please don't tell people what should be slashed, I'm fine with adding input like that but slashing is up to QC.

  • Curse allows Quagsire to raise its attack and defense while lowering its speed to beat Pokemon it normally has to stall out such as Malamar and Audino.
- EQ is Quagsire's main damaging attack, emphasize that; in fact remove the Fire, Rock, and Steel-type bit because that's not what ur using EQ for (Scald already hits them).
- Toxic's main target would be Grass-types; most Pokemon that don't mind burns (Floatzel, Jynx, Lanturn) are nailed hard by EQ
- You don't have to bring up Curse's Speed drop, though if you must you can say that it is negligible. Mention that Curse's Defense boost gives Quagsire more breathing room against physical attackers like Tauros, Kangaskhan, Hariyama, and Guts boosted Gurdurr, so that it won't have to Recover nearly as much.

Usage Tips
========
  • Use Scald and Toxic early on to wear down the opposing team
  • Bring Quagsire in on setup-sweepers as it can check almost all physical setup sweepers lacking a grass coverage move, mainly Klinklang and Samurott; but also has the ability to check Archeops and Tauros.

- Earthquake also nails physically frail Pokemon on the switch that do not mind Scald, such as Floatzel and Jynx.

Other Options

  • A offensive set with choice band or leftovers, Waterfall,Earthquake,Ice Punch, and Stone Edge or Recover rocking Water Absorb or Unaware can be used

  • Protect is also another choice in the last slot scouting for possible grass coverage moves, such as Hidden Power Grass from Magmortar.
  • Encore can help check setup sweepers not bothered by Toxic better without the need to pp stall / setup yourself
So I see these options that can be used, but also remind people on why they usually aren't used:
- Offensive Quag used purely for surprise factor, as poor Speed, mediocre bulk, and average Attack make it a lackluster immediate attacker.
- Yawn doesn't really improve any of Quagsire's matchups.
- It's better to scout the potential coverage move by switching, keeping the moveslot free for Quag.
- Too slow to be effective, particularly against the RestTalk boosters in Malamar and MAudino.

- You could perhaps list some of these Grass-types, and you can even throw in some physical ones such as Jumpluff. Perhaps you can even rename this section to Grass-type moves and list some users, though note that some of the weaker Grass moves (uninvested Seed Bomb from Garbodor) may not do much to a Curse-boosted Quagsire.
- Ursaring and Stoutland are not very relevant; replace with Zangoose or something like Choice Band Golurk. Also if you'd might want to name it "Physical Wallbreakers" and not just "Wallbreakers", as that would imply listing the special ones as well.
- Surely you can bring up some more: stuff like Samurott, Aurorus, Vivillon and some others are fine examples, and you can list their respective STABs, like Ice Beam from Jynx and Hydro Pump from Samurott and whatnot. The way you're phrasing this atm, people would think they can just slap on a Dark-type teammate for Quagsire and sufficiently cover its weaknesses.

Quagsire also gets Recover, giving it reliable recovery. <- try to elaborate on this sentence because it sounds kinda redundant rn, although it's a pretty important point. Because of the water/ground Quagsire's Water / Ground typing all Grass-type Pokemon in NU, such as Jumpluff, Lilligant, Shiftry, Ludicolo, Torterra, Vileplume, and Cacturne,(AC) greatly threaten Quagsire. Quagsire's only passable physical bulk leaves it unable to withstand some of the more immediately powerful physical attacks in NU, such as Zangoose's boosted Facades or and Choice Band Sawk's Close Combat. However, Quagsire still walls some notable physical attackers in such as Klingklang, Scyther, and even Tauros. Hard to justify on any team archetype than defensive teams reword this into a proper sentence

Earthquake is Quagsire's best STAB attack due to its great power and perfect accuracy, dealing good damage against most opposing threats that do not resist ground it. Scald is a good STAB move that gives Quagsire somewhat of an offensive presence and cripples physical attackers, thus complementing Quagsire's physical bulk. Recover allows Quagsire to regain 50% of its health back, and keeps it healthy throughout the battle. Toxic can wear down common switch-ins to Quagsire, mainly Grass-types such as Ludicolo and Jumpluff. Curse allows Quagsire to raise its Attack and Defense allowing to beat Pokemon it normally has to stall out such as Malamar and Audino. Curse's Defense boost also helps Quagsire against physical attackers like Tauros, Kangaskhan, Hariyama, and Guts boosted Gurdurr, so that it won't have to use Recover nearly as much.

Set Details
========
252 EVs in HP and Defense maximize Quagsire's defensive bulk. A Relaxed nature allows for both of Quagsire's stabs STAB moves to be at full power, dropping while lowering the Speed stat which is irrevelant. Unaware nature allows Quagsire to ignore the opponent's stat changes allowing it to check almost all setup sweepers. Leftovers provides Quagsire with some passive recovery every turn.

Usage Tips
========
Quagsire should be using Scald and Toxic early on to wear down the opposition. Bring Quagsire in on setup sweepers as it can check almost all physical setup sweepers lacking a Grass-type coverage move, mainly Klinklang and Samurott; but also has the ability to check Archeops and Tauros. Especially Avoid Toxic and other status effects if you have no cleric as it hinders Quagsire's ability to continually check setup sweepers. Unaware can be a negative also, ignoring defense drops from Close Combat or Special Attack drops from Overheat. Use Recover to keep Quagsire healthy and able to check Pokemon throughout the game. Use Earthquake to rack up damage along with status, or just to get chip damage off. Earthquake can also nail frail Pokemon that don't mind Scald such as Jynx and Floatzel on the switch. Scout for Grass-type coverage moves like Seed Bomb from Garbodor and Hidden Power Grass from Magmortar.

Team Options
========
Pokemon with types that have a resistance to resist Grass such as Garbodor or Scyther are good teammates. Grass-types of your own can deal with opposing Grass-types well, so Pokemon like Vileplume and Ferroseed that can handle setup sweepers that beat Quagsire like Jumpluff and Shiftry work well. Heal Bell users such as Mega Audino and Sap Sipper Miltank work well to cure status off of for Quagsire such as Mega Audino and Miltank. Miltank especially so beacause of the combo of Sap Sipper. Pokemon that easily get set up on such as Ferroseed and Mega Audino work do well with Quagsire because he it can deal with setup sweepers with ease. Grounded Poison-types absorb Toxic Spikes that Quagsire hates. Fits best on bulkier teams as it really saps any offensive momentum.

Other Options
=============
A offensive set with Choice Band or Leftovers or Life Orb, Waterfall, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Stone Edge or Recover rocking Water Absorb or Unaware can be used, but it is mainly for the surprise factor, as poor Speed, mediocre bulk, and average Attack make it a lackluster immediate attacker. Water Absorb can be used to switch into Lanturn freely, then deal massive damage to the switch-in because of how hard Ice-, Ground-, and Water-type coverage is to switch into. Yawn can be used in the Toxic / Curse slot to shift opposing team members around and essentially,(RC) force a Pokemon to fall asleep from teams lacking a sleep immunity / lum user. However, Quagsire is already pressed for moveslots, and Yawn doesn't benefit its own matchups greatly reword, i'm not sure what this means. Protect is also another choice in the last slot to scout for possible Grass-type coverage moves, such as Hidden Power Grass from Magmortar. Again, Quagsire can't really afford to give up moveslots and it is just better to scout for the Grass-type attack by switching. Encore can help Quagsire check setup sweepers not bothered by Toxic better without the need to PP stall / set up itself. Unfortunately, Quagsire is much too slow to benefit from Encore, as the two main things targets it hits, RestTalk Malamar and Audino, both outpace Quagsire.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-type Moves**: Almost all Grass-types in the tier are special attackers,(RC) and can hit Quagsire on his its weaker defensive side. Even physical Grass-types like Jumpluff can take advantage of Quagsire's massive weakness and hit it very hard. Although Weaker non-STAB and non-invested Grass-type attacks like Seed Bomb from Garbodor may not do much to a Curse-boosted Quagsire. All Grass-types bar Roselia and Vileplume don't appreciate taking a Toxic on the switch in.

**Physical Wallbreakers**: Strong wallbreakers take advantage of Quagsire's average defensive stats by providing constant offensive pressure. Quagsire's typing doesn't provide key resistances versus the best wallbreakers and is greatly pressured by Sawk, Swellow, Zangoose, and even Choice Band Golurk. Most of the wallbreakers that pressure Quagsire are not threatened by burns, because they are either immune or are have access to Guts / Facade Pokemon.

**Special Attackers**: Special attackers such as Jynx, Haunter, Vivillion, Samurott, Aurorus, and Musharna can all take advantage of Quagsire's low Special Defense and hit it with a strong STAB attacks of their choice.

**Status**: Quagsire does not appreciate taking status well at all. It Quagsire can recover off burns for the most part but Toxic cripples Quagsire's ability to constantly come in, wall and Recover perform its role.

cmon man, most of the errors here wouldn't have happened if you listened to Kiyo and took a peek at the Spelling and Grammar Standards. it's going to be pretty valuable if you're planning on writing more analysis articles in the future. either way, there's some sentences which don't really make sense, so i'd prefer it if you rewrote them before asking for the second check
