[OVERVIEW]

Raichu is one of the fastest Fake Out users, sporting a base Speed of 110 that lets it outspeed the likes of Mega Kangaskhan and Infernape. It also has Lightningrod, which neuters opposing Electric-types by redirecting Electric-type attacks, benefiting teams that struggle with foes such as Thundurus. With access to a good utility movepool containing options such as Fake Out, Encore, Nuzzle, and Feint, Raichu controls game flow and provides speed control. On the other hand, its poor bulk leaves it easily KOed by strong attacks such as Mega Kangaskhan's Return and Talonflame's Flare Blitz. In addition, Raichu provides little offensive pressure by itself, as it lacks the ability to deal meaningful damage and is walled by Grass- and Ground-types. Compared to other Electric-types in the metagame—Rotom-W, Thundurus, and Zapdos—Raichu lacks the natural Ground immunity, bulk, and offensive pressure the other options provide, making it a niche option for teams requiring its specific support.

Moves
========

Access to one of the fastest Fake Outs lets Raichu outspeed other Fake Out users and immobilize a foe for a turn nearly without fail, giving Raichu's partner room to set up or go on the offensive without being hindered. Encore locks a foe into the same move for three turns, possibly forcing it to use a suboptimal move. An Electric-type STAB move in the form of Volt Switch or Thunderbolt enables Raichu to still be an offensive threat to frailer foes, such as Talonflame and Azumarill. Volt Switch lets Raichu pivot to refresh Fake Out and bring in a partner; alternatively, Thunderbolt deals more damage and, when combined with more Special Attack EVs, picks up the KO on threats such as Talonflame. In addition, Thunderbolt is a better option for situations where Raichu does not wish to switch out. Nuzzle lets Raichu provide speed control for a team and reduce its tendency to suck momentum, even hitting Mega Diancie where Thunder Wave cannot due to bypassing Magic Bounce in addition to Taunt. Feint breaks Protect, making it a good option for applying offensive pressure while also synergizing with the threat of Fake Out. Feint is especially helpful for partners that use single-target attacks, such as Mega Kangaskhan, which benefit from Raichu breaking Protect.

Set Details
========

Lightningrod redirects Electric-type attacks, neutering the offensive pressure of opposing Electric-types such as Thundurus. Maximum Speed EVs and a Timid nature let Raichu Speed tie with the competitive base 110 Speed tier, which includes threats such as Latios and Mega Diancie. The remainder is put into HP to alleviate Raichu's poor bulk, letting it survive attacks like Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave. An alternative set with maximum Special Attack instead of HP is recommended if using Thunderbolt, to pick up the KO on Talonflame. Air Balloon is useful for discouraging opposing Choice Scarf Landorus-T from locking itself into Earthquake, forcing a U-turn or a Rock Slide, both of which Raichu is relatively unafraid of. On the other hand, Focus Sash is a good catch-all defensive item for surviving any powerful attack, including not only Landorus-T's Earthquake but also Talonflame's Flare Blitz and Mega Charizard Y's Heat Wave.

Usage Tips
========

Raichu's Fake Out support is key to helping allies set up—such as through Belly Drum, Swords Dance, Tailwind, or Substitute—or to maintain offensive pressure. Due to Raichu's access to Encore, its Fake Out is especially threatening, as foes cannot stall out the Fake Out turn with Protect. Feint can punish Protects as well. Although opposing Pokemon will want to double Protect on Raichu's Fake Out, Encore combined with a high Speed allows Raichu to lock foes into Protect, making them effectively useless for three turns or until they switch out. In addition, Encore is useful for locking foes into Fake Out, which doesn't work after the first turn out, or setup moves such as Belly Drum and Substitute, and for locking foes into resisted moves or Electric-type moves, either for Raichu's partner or itself. Thus, Raichu should be used for building up offensive pressure and providing the necessary support to its partner. With Volt Switch, Raichu can take advantage of its rotational power to keep itself healthy and refresh Fake Out, coming in when the support is needed and avoiding situations where it becomes a momentum sink, unable to impact the field. For example, Raichu can't threaten certain fast threats such as Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Talonflame and bulkier threats such as Aegislash and Amoonguss, all of which either outspeed and KO it first or are relatively untouched by anything from its movepool. Be careful when bringing Raichu in on attacks, as its poor bulk and negligible resistances leave it susceptible to being KOed on the switch. Instead, mostly use it as a lead or switch it in after a partner is KOed.

Team Options
========

Water- and Flying-types, such as Azumarill and Talonflame, that benefit from Lightningrod incapacitating opposing Electric-types such as Thundurus make for very good partners for Raichu. Fake Out support is good for partners that appreciate the free setup opportunities, such as Belly Drum Azumarill, Power-Up Punch Mega Kangaskhan, and Substitute users such as Heatran and Kyurem-B. Unlike other Electric-types, Raichu has a poor matchup against Talonflame, being outsped and OHKOed by Flare Blitz, so good Talonflame checks such as Landorus-T and Mega Diancie help alleviate this weakness. Raichu is incapable of threatening Amoonguss, so Amoonguss checks and switch-ins that are immune to Spore such as Safety Goggles Jirachi compensate for Raichu's poor Amoonguss matchup. Other Pokemon that can threaten to KO Amoonguss such as Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y also are good options.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Ice is a possible coverage move, but it's unpopular because Choice Scarf Landorus-T can easily move before Raichu and U-turn out. In addition, Hidden Power Ice doesn't pick up the KO on Landorus-T even with maximum Special Attack investment.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Speed**: Threats faster than Raichu, such as Talonflame and Landorus-T and even weather sweepers such as Swift Swim Ludicolo and Chlorophyll Venusaur, do not need to worry about a large portion of its utility moves and can threaten to OHKO it, nullifying its ability to properly support its partner. Raichu is especialy vulnerable against threats with a faster Fake Out, such as Swift Swim Ludicolo and Weavile.

**Miscellaneous**: Not running Protect leaves Raichu with little counterplay to opposing Fake Out. In addition, Kangaskhan with Inner Focus can ignore Raichu's Fake Out because it cannot flinch.

**Typing Advantage**: Grass- and Ground-types such as Amoonguss and Landorus-T are for the most part unthreatened by Raichu's movepool and untouched by its Electric-type STAB moves. Grass-types are generally unafraid of being paralyzed, while Ground-types are immune to Nuzzle altogether. Ghost-types such as Aegislash and Gengar are immune to both Fake Out and Feint.

Doesn't know how to attack
You didn't write the suggested nature. Until you do I'm going to assume that you're recommending a Brave nature, (+Atk -Spe) because 110 speed is too fast and Fake Out doesn't feel strong enough without the attack boost. :P

AM check, check with QC before implementing.

Overview
 • For 3rd bullet point state and explain how this makes Raichu a great addition to Thundurus-weak teams.
Set Comments
 • "Lightning-type" - I hope you know what this should be :B
 • Explain how Nuzzle can hit Mega Diancie whereas T-Wave cannot. Also mention how Nuzzle is not affected by Taunt.
 • You mention that Feint is better on more offensively based teams, so talk about what kind of teams appreciate Nuzzle more, as the two moves are competing for a move slot.
 • In the last point, mention how the combination of Feint + FO is useful. Also mention that as well as breaking Protect, Feint also breaks Quick Guard and Wide Guard.
Set Details
 • "Lightning-Type" - I'm starting to get worried that wasn't just a typo the first time O.o.
 • Maybe mention an example of a hit 252 HP allows Raichu to live, e.g. a spread-reduced Mega Charizard-Y Heat Wave, or two spread-reduced Landorus-T Rock Slides.
 • Mention at least the possibility of running 252 Sp Atk (instead of HP) on Raichu for Focus Sash sets, as this allows its Thunderbolt to OHKO Talonflame, and have a good chance of preventing Azumarill from using Belly Drum (read: doing 75%+) - 0 Sp Atk has no chance at either benchmark.
Usage Tips
 • Mention that Fake Out can help give a teammate an opportunity to use setup moves such as Substitute, Tailwind, etc. Mention using Fake Out to help against opposing Fake Out + Trick Room leads.
 • Mention how Feint can punish Protects as well in the second bullet point.
 • Mention that Volt Switch provides chip damage on opponents which can be useful for teammates.
 • Mention bringing in Raichu on free switches only due to it's low bulk and lack of resistances.
 • Choice Scarf Landorus-T (you need to specify this when saying it outspeeds Raichu).
Team Options
 • First point sounds like you could be saying that Thundurus is a Water- or Flying-type which appreciates Lightning Rod lol :P. You also need to give actual examples of these Water- and Flying-types, so one possible way to fix this is by adding a comma after Raichu and then giving some examples (e.g. "....Raichu, examples include.....).
 • Specify that Mega Kangaskhan uses Power-Up Punch to setup, and also mention Substitute users as well, with an example or two of possible users.
 • Mention that Raichu has a poor Talonflame matchup as it can simply outspeed and OHKO Raichu (with Flare Blitz).
 • Mention not only Pokemon that can switch-in to Amoonguss, but Pokemon which can remove or KO it, allowing Raichu to provide support more freely.
Other Options
 • Mention that even with maximum Special Attack investment, HP Ice fails to OHKO Landorus-T. Also Choice Scarf Landorus-T again (you need to specify this when saying it outspeeds Raichu!).
 • Mention that King's Rock is single-use. Also maybe specify for the "defensive utility" lost that this leaves Raichu vulnerable to being OHKOed more easily, by Ground-type moves such as Earthquake from Landorus-T.
 • Mention Charm and Helping Hand IMO (both good support options, with a fast Charm quicker than Mega Kangaskhan being useful for teammates), as well as Protect (can be useful for preserving Raichu if you don't need another utility move or if keeping Raichu around is quite important to the team) - check with QC especially on this one before implementing.
Checks and Counters
 • For the Speed tag, mention Chlorophyll Venusaur, as that's another weather "sweeper" which outspeeds and deals large damage to Raichu. Also Choice Scarf Landorus-T again (you need to specify this when saying it outspeeds Raichu!!!).
 • Second tag should be Utility Moves, pretty sure.
 • For the Misc tag, really not too sure about having this (or the obsession with 'rein' :P). If you're talking about the problem of Raichu baiting in Amoonguss, I think you have this covered with the team options to counteract this.

Since Yoda's QC now, you'll have to follow him too. Properly and completely now since he's p much right (be sure to backtrack now as I saw that you didn't implement part of Yoda's check).

Lightningrod is one word! - Spelling and Grammar Standards

Overview
 • First bullet is literally telling me something I could see from the dex. Condense with the second bullet in order to give that one some sense.
 • Explain how it neuters Electrics in the first place: redirects.
 • Utility moves such as? In what sense is having access to these utility moves relevant? (helps it support its team by xyz)
 • you can't just say "Raichu has poor bulk" on the analysis; this is something that we can easily see by looking at the dex, and this is something we are NOT trying to do. Give some more thought to it, please. Something like "Paltry leaves it easily KOd by a multitude of threats such as x y z" would suffice.
 • You could also mention its pitiful offensive coverage with the low offensive presence bit, which leaves it walled by Dragon-types and Amoonguss.
Set
 • SpAtk -> SpA :|
Moves
 • We do not go around and say x move is <mon>'s core asset / crux of the set / a good move / whatever. These kind of terms are padding and they tell the reader nothing. Just state what Fake Out does full stop.
 • Second bullet: Just state what Encore does in this bullet; that is, lock a foe into an unfavorable move and turn them into a liability on the field or something like that. The stuff you mentioned about Encore should go to Usage Tips.
 • The way you structured the Electric-type STAB bullet is really awkward. Just make a full stop after the Azu mention, and then make another sentence comparing the two (Volt Switch is x while TBolt is y [explain why use TBolt when you're at it])
 • Condense the contents of the fourth bullet into a single sentence.
 • Instead of saying "better for offensive teams" on the Feint bit, say that it applies offensive pressure on the opponent by putting a risk factor on defending (after you mention what Feint does ofc).
 • Adjustment to Yoda's: Fake Out + Feint goes to Usage Tips
Set Details
 • Mention that 252 SpA on Yoda's bit is for TBolt in particular. In addition, mention the calcs in Yoda's post. ("...when running Tbolt, you can run x spread which lets Raichu do y and z")
 • Explain Sash
Usage Tips
 • Anything I told you to move here should be... moved here.
Team Options
 • Give us one more Talon check.
 • "Fake Out support is good for partners that can set up on opponents, such as Belly Drum Azumarill or Power-Up Punch Kangaskhan, or and Substitute users such as Heatran and Kyurem-Black." It's not a one or the other thing, since both do appreciate the support. Mention about them appreciating the free turns ("Pokemon that can take advantage of the opportunities Fake Out in order to set up, such as x y z, make for good teammates.")
 • When you mention Jirachi as a Spore switchin, mention Safety Goggles (Safety Goggles Jirachi).
 • lol @ "Amoonguss Killers." Just say "Pokemon that can take out Amoonguss, such as x y z, make for good partners as well" or something.
Checks and Counters
 • Speed: "...do not need to worry about a large portion of its utility moves, and can threaten to OHKO Raichu. In addition, being faster than Raichu nullifies Raichu's ability to properly support its partner." aren't these pretty much the same thing or are directly related ?_? Find a way to condense these two
 • What's in Utility right now belongs to Misc, which should be spelled out fully as "Miscellaneous" and for future reference, Utility is "Utility Moves"
 • Try to think of a more language-friendly replacement for "rein in"
 • Add a Typing Advantage tag. Mention Grasses. Mention Drags. Mention Scarf Landog.
1/3 if you properly implement this along with Yoda's check. You can probs ask him for a stamp as well.

Not mentioning dragons as typing adv because you just paralyze all of them and encore kyube if it manages to sub on you somehow
Feel like it's harder to explain things in general terms because Raichu is more matchup specific and more intricate with its 2v2 matchups than simply "it can't touch x mons" because that's true of basically every mon except gyarados, which I think is forcing me to elaborate more than I would on a usual analysis.

uhm idk if lightningrod is one word considering it's considered incorrect by google ac also it's two words in /dt raichu

also have never used the oo options yoda mentioned so idk how good those are.

implemented rest and improved some wordings/phrasings

thnx

You can't touch dragons with only Electric-type STAB :|

That was the entire and only point of putting it on Typing Advantage :|

Also if you bothered to read the Spelling and Grammar Standards you'd know Lightningrod is one word :|

Add the OO stuff!

And Yoda hasn't stamped yet officially :|

A sidenote: you don't just go and not do (part of) QC checks, especially with paltry reasons such as "idk how good those are." You also have to implement the checks properly and completely.

Like for example: you did implement the first bullet on the overview, but you also removed the Base 110 Speed part. The point wasn't that you shouldn't mention that; the point was that you shouldn't make that your whole point. The way it should have been done is you tell the reader about its Base 110 Speed in order to provide evidence of it being one of the fastest Fake Out users in the metagame ("Sitting at a high Base 110 Speed, Raichu boasts one of the fastest Fake Outs in the metagame")

That was not the only case where you went wrong, so please take some time and do this thoroughly x_x

lightning rod is literally two words. idk

dragons you can nuzzle all 3/3 of them hate being paralyzed I consider that a good enough matchup. It's not about not hitting it with electric stab because as I said just because I can't hit something with my godly raichu volt switch doesn't make the matchup bad

Mentioning base 110 speed felt retarded. Instead I just listed pokemon that it outspeeds / relevant other fake outs by condensing.

did you actually bother to read the link at all?

Yes, the fact that you can paralyze Dragon-types stands and is true. HOWEVER, Typing Advantage is more about the typing matchup, hence the name. It doesn't necessarily need to take into account the other moves that Raichu can do to them. It can't hit Dragons at all; that's the only point that needs to be made. Is it really that hard?

You don't just go on and not make an explicit mention of one of the more relevant traits of Raichu: its Speed lol

changed this back to 1/3

check, in the future make sure that a qc check explicitly states that it's a stamp before marking it down as such, it causes confusion (ie, the deoxys-a mixup)

[Overview]
- Raichu faces competition from Thundurus, zapdos, and Rotom-W who provide more offensive pressure, as well as possess an immunity to ground-type moves. and explain why those options are /generally/ better than raichu, this gives a more accurate depiction of where raichu falls in the order of electric-types so that the actual niche raichu has over them is better understood

[Other Options]
No fling + kings rock -> there is absolutely zero reason to use this

other than that, solid 3/3

My previous check was removed, but I looked at the guidelines and I think I fixed most of the problems (following the rules helps, I guess).

I did a little (a lot of) restructuring to make the analysis more coherent and tried to get rid of a lot vagueness.

Set Details

========

Lightningrod redirects away Electric-Type attacks, neutering the offensive pressure of opposing Electrics such as Thundurus.<By and large, Lightningrod is what makes Raichu uniquely useful, given it's benefit of negating the effects of opposing Electric-type attacks; for this reason, Static is not considered an option on this set.>{People know what Lightningrod does, by now--plus this is meta information not unique to the set, so it's not really a 'detail'. Usage Tips

========

Raichu's Fake Out utility is key to helping allies setup<set up>{Dragon dance is a setup move. Altaria sets up with Dragon Dance.}--such as through Belly Drum or Swords Dance, Tailwind, or Substitute--or to<and in> maintain offensive pressure. Due to its ability to encore-lock opponents, Raichu's Fake Out is especially threatening as opponents who wish to stall out the Fake Out turn with Protect cannot.<Encore should be used to punish opponents for using Protect to avoid Raichu's Fake Out. The presence of Encore effectively negates the usefulness of the Double-Protect strategy, as it usually gives Raichu the chance to incapacitate any Pokemon it wishes, so long as they're both slower. Once your opponent knows Raichu has both Fake Out and Encore, they might think twice about using Protect in the future—it is best to keep that in mind when strategizing. Encore can trap opposing Fake Out users into continuing to use Fake Out after the first turn, temporarily making them useless, making Raichu useful as an opener. Encore also extends Raichu's usefulness mid to late-game by letting it mess with setup and support Pokemon. Feint serves a similar function to Encore in discouraging Protect; however it should be noted that Feint actually negates Protect the turn it is used, and creates opportunities for Raichu's partner to attack the Pokemon the same turn it attempts to protect itself. This distinction opens up multiple scenarios that Encore cannot.> {Notice that I extended your information to arrive to conclusions of where and how it might be best to use Raichu, in specific terms. Also notice how I mentioned Feint only after I was finished talking about Encore. This is obviously my subjective analysis, but this kind of grouping-based organization is how you generally write a useful analysis on how to use things. If you disagree with the opinions I presented, feel free to change them—try to keep the structure, though.} In addition, using Feint can punish Protects as well. Although opposing Pokemon will want to double-Protect away Raichu's Fake Out, Encore combined with a high speed allows Raichu to trap opponents into repeatedly using Protect, making them effectively useless for 3 turns or until a switch. In addition, Encore is useful for locking opponents into Fake Out, which doesn't work after the first turn out, setup moves such as Belly Drum or Substitute, or switching in and Encore-locking resisted moves or Electric-type moves, either for Raichu's partner or itself. Thus, Raichu should be used for building up offensive pressure and providing the necessary support to its partner. <Using Volt Switch lets Raichu act as a scout, while simultaneously refreshing Fake Out for later use. Using this move helps to conserve momentum when Raichu's role on the field has been exhausted, and should be used instead of switching, in cases where Raichu has the Speed advantage and there is certainty that the opponent will not counter with an immunity or Protect.>With Volt Switch, Raichu can abuse its rotational power to keep itself healthy and refreshing Fake Out, coming in when the support is needing and avoiding situations where it becomes a momentum suck, unable to impact the field. For example, Raichu can't threaten certain fast threats such as Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian and Talonflame, or bulkier threats such as Aegislash and Amoonguss, all of which either outspeed and KO it first or are relatively untouched by Raichu's move-pool. Be careful when bringing Raichu in on attacks, as its poor bulk and negligible resistances leave it susceptible to being KO'd on the switch. Instead, use it mostly as a lead or a switch on a partner dying.{You spent more time talking about Raichu's counters than you did talking about how to use Raichu}

Team Options

========

Water- and Flying-types, such as Azumarill or Talonflame, that benefit from Lightningrod<'s ability to incapacitating opposing Electric types like Thundurus, and are excellent options to pair with Raichu.> incapacitating opposing Electrics such as Thundurus make very good partners for Raichu. <Belly-Drum Azumarill, in particular, as well as Power-Up Punch Kangaskhan and Substitute users like Heatran and Kyuram-B, all appreciate the opportunities for setup that Raichu's Fake Out support creates.> Fake Out support is good for partners that appreciate the free turns to set up on opponents, such as Belly Drum Azumarill or Power-Up Punch Kangaskhan, and Substitute users such as Heatran and Kyurem-Black.{Connected Azumarill references to emphasize additional synergy. Also a comma is not required before like in this case, I don't think.} Unlike other Electrics, Raichu has a poor Talonflame matchup as Talonflame outspeeds and OHKO<e>s Raichu with Flare Blitz< before Raichu can hit it with Thunderbolt,>{I'm confused. You said before that Thunderbolt allowed Raichu to check Talonflame, but now you're saying that Talonflame objectively beats Raichu. You should reevaluate what Thunderbolt Raichu actually is good against.}so good Talonflame checks such as<like> Landorus-Therian or Diancie-Mega<Mega Diancie> help alleviate this weakness< are helpful>. Raichu is incapable of threatening Amoonguss, thus Amoonguss checks and switchins that are immune to<Pokemon who are unthreatened offensively by Amoonguss and immune to> Spore, such as<like> Safety Goggles Jirachi<,> benefit Raichu's poor Amoonguss matchup<do well as teammates>. Other Pokemon that can threaten to KO Amoonguss<,> such as Talonflame or <Mega> Charizard-< >Y<, are> also are good options.

[Overview] [OVERVIEW]

Raichu is one of the fastest Fake Out users, sporting a base Speed of 110, outspeeding other common Fake Out users such as the likes of Mega Kangaskhan and Infernape. It also brings Lightningrod, (AC) which neuters opposing Electric-types by redirecting Electric-type attacks, benefiting teams that struggle with opposing Electric-types such as Thundurus. With access to a good utility movepool (remove hyphen) of utility moves containing options such as Fake Out, Encore, Nuzzle, and Feint, Raichu controls game flow and provides speed control. On the other hand, its poor bulk leaves it easily KO'd KOed by strong attacks such as Mega Kangaskhan's Return and Talonflame's Flare Blitz. In addition, Raichu provides little offensive presence by itself, as it lacks the ability to deal meaningful damage and is walled by Grass- (RC) and Ground-types. Compared to other Electric-types in the meta—Rotom-Wash, Thundurus-I, and Zapdos—Raichu lacks the natural Ground immunity, (remove hyphen) bulk, and offensive pressure the other options provide, making Raichu a niche option for teams requiring its specific support.

Moves
========

Having Access to one of the fastest Fake Outs lets it Raichu outspeed other Fake Out users and immobilize an opponent foe for a turn nearly without fail, giving Raichu's partner room to set up or go on the offensive without being hindered. Encore locks an opponent foe into repeating the same move for 3 three turns, removing an opponent's move choice and possibly forcing an opposing Pokemon to use a suboptimal (remove hyphen) move. An Electric-type STAB move in the form of Volt Switch or Thunderbolt enables Raichu to still be an offensive threat to frailer opponents foes, such as Talonflame and Azumarill. Volt Switch lets Raichu pivot to refresh Fake Out and bring in a partner; on the other hand alternativly, Thunderbolt deals more damage and, when combined with more SpA EVs higher Special Attack EVs, picks up the KO on threats such as Talonflame. In addition, Thunderbolt is a better option for situations where Raichu does not wish to switch out. Nuzzle lets Raichu provide speed control for a team and reduce its tendency to suck momentum, even hitting Mega Diancie-Mega where Thunder Wave cannot (RC) due to bypassing Magic Bounce while also bypassing in addition to Taunt. Feint breaks Protect, making it a good option for applying offensive pressure while also synergizing with the threat of Fake Out. Feint is especially helpful for partners that use single-targetting attacks, such as Mega Kangaskhan, which benefit from Raichu breaking Protect.

Set Details
========

Lightningrod redirects away Electric-type attacks, neutering the offensive pressure of opposing Electric-types such as Thundurus. Maximizing speed Maximum Speed EVs and a Timid nature lets let Raichu reach speed ties in its Speed tie with the competitive base 110 Speed tier, which includes threats such as Latios and Mega Diancie-Mega. The remainder is put into HP to alleviate Raichu's poor bulk, letting it live things such as a survive attacks like Mega Charizard Y's (remove hyphen) Heat Wave. An alternative set with maximized SpA maximum Special Attack instead of HP is recommended if using Thunderbolt, to pick up the KO on Talonflame. Air Balloon is useful for disallowing discouraging opposing Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian's from locking into Earthquake, forcing a U-turn or a Rock Slide, which Raichu is relatively unafraid of. On the other hand, Focus Sash is a good catch-all defensive item for living surviving any powerful attack, including not only Landorus-Therian Landorus-T's Earthquake but also Talonflame's Flare Blitz and Mega Charizard Y's (remove hyphen)Heat Wave.

Usage Tips
========

Raichu's Fake Out utility support is key to helping allies set(space)up—such as through Belly Drum or Swords Dance, Tailwind, or Substitute—or to maintain offensive pressure. Due to its ability to encore-lock opponents access to Encore, Raichu's Fake Out is especially threatening, (AC) as opponents who wish to foes cannot stall out the Fake Out turn with Protect cannot. In addition, using Feint can punish Protects as well. Although opposing Pokemon will want to double Protect (remove hyphen) away on Raichu's Fake Out, Encore combined with a high Speed allows Raichu to trap opponents lock foes into repeatedly using Protect, making them effectively useless for 3 three turns or until a switch they switch out. In addition, Encore is useful for locking opponents into Fake Out, which doesn't work after the first turn out, or setup moves such as Belly Drum or and Substitute, or and for switching in and Encore-locking foes into resisted moves or Electric-type moves, either for Raichu's partner or itself. Thus, Raichu should be used for building up offensive pressure and providing the necessary support to its partner. With Volt Switch, Raichu can abuse take advantage of its rotational power to keep itself healthy and refreshing Fake Out, coming in when the support is needing and avoiding situations where it becomes a momentum suck sink, unable to impact the field. For example, Raichu can't threaten certain fast threats such as Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian and Talonflame, or and bulkier threats such as Aegislash and Amoonguss, all of which either outspeed and KO it first or are relatively untouched by anything from Raichu's movepool. (remove hyphen) Be careful when bringing Raichu in on attacks, as its poor bulk and negligible resistances leave it susceptible to being KO'd KOed on the switch. Instead, mostly use it mostly as a lead or a switch on a partner dying switch it in after a partner is KOed.

Team Options
========

Water- and Flying-types, such as Azumarill or and Talonflame, that benefit from Lightningrod incapacitating opposing Electric-types such as Thundurus make for very good partners for Raichu. Fake Out support is good for partners that appreciate the free turns to set up on opponents setup opportunities, such as Belly Drum Azumarill, (AC) or Power-Up Punch Mega Kangaskhan, and Substitute users such as Heatran and Kyurem-Black. Unlike other Electric-types, Raichu has a poor Talonflame matchup, (AC) as Talonflame outspeeds and OHKOs Raichu with being outsped and OHKOed by Flare Blitz, (AC) so good Talonflame checks such as Landorus-Therian or and Mega Diancie-Mega help alleviate this weakness. Raichu is incapable of threatening Amoonguss, thus so Amoonguss checks and switch-ins (add hyphen) that are immune to Spore such as Safety Goggles Jirachi benefit Raichu's poor Amoonguss matchup. Other Pokemon that can threaten to KO Amoonguss such as Talonflame or and Mega Charizard Y (remove hyphen) also are good options.

Other Options

Hidden Power Ice is a possible move that Raichu can run a possible coverage move, but it's unpopular because Choice Scarf Landorus-Therian can easily move before Raichu and U-turn out. In addition, Hidden Power Ice doesn't pick up the KO on Landorus-Therian even at maximum SpA Special Attack investment.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Speed**: Threats faster than Raichu, such as Talonflame and Landorus-Therian or and even weather-boosted Pokemon sweepers such as Swift Swim Ludicolo and Chlorophyll Venusaur, do not need to worry about a large portion of its utility moves (RC) and can threaten to OHKO Raichu it, nullifying Raichu's its ability to properly support its partner. In particular, Raichu is especialy vulnerable against threats with faster Fake Out, such as Swift Swim Ludicolo and Weavile.

**Miscellaneous**: Not running Protect leaves Raichu with little counterplay to opposing Fake Out. In addition, Kangaskhan with Inner Focus can ignore Raichu's Fake Out because it cannot be flinched.

**Typing Advantage**: Grass- (RC) and Ground-types (RC) such as Amoonguss and Landorus-Therian are for the most part unthreatened of by Raichu's movepool and untouched by its Electric STAB moves. Grass-types are generally unafraid of being paralyzed while Ground-types are immune to Nuzzle altogether. Ghost-types such as Aegislash and Gengar are immune to both Fake Out and Feint.
