Rain Dance Team...OMG, I SUCK!

Bronzong@Damp Rock
Bold
252 HP, 200 Def, 56 Sp. Def
Levitate

Rain Dance
Hypnosis
Stealth Rock
Grass Knot

Ok, my lead. This is the lead of most Rain Dance/Sunny Day teams for OU, and it does a sexy job. Hypnosis is great at allowing me to switch out. Sets up Rocks and Grass Knot counters T-Tar, who thinks it can change the weather on me, as well as Hippowdon. (No, I won't use Gyro Ball, sure it does more to T-Tar, but against Hippo, it does Jack. At least I can even it out with Grass Knot.)

=========================

Snorlax@Leftovers/Lum Berry
Careful
128 HP, 44 Atk, 216 Sp. Def, 120 Def
Thick Fat

Rest
Crunch
Body Slam
Curse

Curse-Lax. Takes status somewhat, and takes fire hits like a pro, especially in rain. I am willing to change this for something else, suggestions appreciated.

=========================

Kingdra@Life Orb
Lonely
252 Atk, 240 Sp. Atk, 16 Spd
Swift Swim

Rain Dance
Draco Meteor
Surf
Waterfall

The most common pokemon in a Rain Dance team is also in mine. Works a treat, but was recently beaten by a....wait for it.... 252Spd EV Swift Swim Kingdra... >_>

======================

Floatzel@Life Orb
Adamant
252 Atk, 20 Spd, 72 HP, 60 Def, 104 Sp. Def
Swift Swim

Waterfall
Crunch
Ice Fang
Bulk Up

Since I already have 3 Rain Dancers, this has Bulk Up instead. With the extra 4 Spd EV's, it outruns other Floatzel, should I see one, and I can also outspeed an insane amount of other pokemon. This allows me to get in a Bulk Up first almost every time. The rest are coverage attacks.

========================

Suicune@Leftovers
Bold
252 HP, 224 Def, 32 Spd
Pressure

Surf
Calm Mind
Roar
Rest

Standard CMCune.

=======================

Dugtrio@Choice Band
Jolly
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Arena Trap

Earthquake
Sucker Punch
Stone Edge
Aerial Ace

My Electric Absorber and Revenge Killer. Outspeeds many things, and what it doesn't outspeed can get in a powerful Sucker Punch, especially on the likes of Gengar. I went with Jolly over Adamant, to outspeed infernape etc., but the lack of power is made up for with Choice Band.

Rain Dance

Grass Knot

Ok, my lead. This is the bane of most Rain Dance/Sunny Day teams for OU, and it does a sexy job. Safeguard after seeing a thread from RaikouLover, and it's advantages. Set up Rocks and Grass Knot counters T-Tar, who thinks it can change the weather on me, as well as Hippowdon.

I didn't see the thread, so I won't say anything.

Its a monster, but get rid of Rain Dance. I realize you can just Dance on the switch, but you could just go Life Orb for similar power but with self support.

======================

Floatzel@Kings Rock/Life Orb
Adamant

This allows me to get in a Bulk Up first almost every time. The rest are coverage attacks. Under Hax Item Clause, I go Life Orb, otherwise, go go go Waterfall/Crunch Flinch Hax.

Waterfall / Kings Rock flinch do not stack. Life Orb is better anyway.

Suicune@Leftovers
Bold
252 HP, 224 Def, 32 Spd
Pressure

Surf
Calm Mind
Rain Dance / Roar
Rest

CMCune. Standard really, but it is currently running Rain Dance, as most likely zong will go down, and I cannot rely on Kingdra to do the Rain Dancing all the time.

Go Roar if you give Kingra Life Orb.

=======================

Dugtrio@Choice Band
Adamant
252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Arena Trap

Earthquake
Sucker Punch
Stone Edge
Aerial Ace

My Electric Absorber and Revenge Killer. Outspeeds many things, and what it doesn't outspeed can get in a powerful Sucker Punch, especially on the likes of Gengar.

Revenge killing is fine. I say Jolly to take out Infernape. You lose a LOT of speed with Adamant. Hell, Pikachu rivals you in speed now.

Correct me if I am wrong but isnt Gyro Ball more effective against T-tar?

I mean wouldn't 63 speed + Stab + super effective do more damage than Grass Knot?

Also I am not sure about Hippowdon but it is slow as shit so Gyro Ball would still work on it?

Ash Borer

I've heard they're short of room in hell
gyro rapes t-tar but is the shits against hippo, GK seems decent also makes a dent in swampy

Gyro Ball won't even touch Hippowdon. Its practically Leftover recovery damage.

But Grass Knot will massacre him.

OK, I have some comments

Bronzong- Safeguard is a pretty silly move, sure Zong gets status'd a lot, but he'll be asleep before it comes up. Gyro Ball or Earthquake would be better for type coverage, or Hypnosis as you have no sleep inducer.

Kingdra- I wouldn't go Rain Dance with Specs, use Ice Beam for things like Celebi, or Dragon Pulse for late game sweeping. Or go for Life Orb.

Good luck.

lol, I didn't intend to have Rain Dance on it, I got stuck between two sets... >_>

As for zong, I find that it helps me switch in alot better, and stops it from becoming statused. (Obviously) Perhaps Hypnosis though.

Specs Kingdra needs Signal Beam to rape Celebi. Still, Mixdra is better.

Floatzel wants Choice Band, and Aqua Jet. Brick Break or Return is probably better than Ice Fang, since it really isn't doing much. Nothing in the game really stands up to CB waterfall unless it is extremely bulky and resists.

bronzong : Psychic > grass knot
I agree.. just run Gyro Ball and/or Psychic on the same set, perhaps giving up Hypnosis.

As for the team.. you have no way to deal with Gyarados which will probably massacre you. Vaporeon is also a problem if Snorlax is down, so are other bulky waters. Grass Knot from Bronzong will not bother them much.

But... its a lead Bronzong, it really only has to worry about leading threats (in this case, he's more worried about Hippo changing his weather).

However, he brings up a good point that Gyarados will take out this team pretty quickly, Kingdra really needs HP Electric over Waterfall IMO.

For me, Curselax seems the odd one out. You mention he takes Fire hits like a champ, but Kingdra does it better. If you can't get HP Electric on Kingdra, maybe swap Curselax for Starmie? Since you only really have one rain dancer, maybe a RainDance/Surf/Thunder/Recover set would fit here?

I doubt Grass Knot will 2HKO Hippo, and Hippo can always switch or use Slack Off.. Changing the weather? lol, Rain Dance is a move, therefore even if Hippo comes on Bronzong while he uses Rain Dance, it will rain eventually. And Bronzong shrugs off anything Hippo throws at him anyway.

If you want a good lead Bronzong, then lead with Lum Berry + Psychic. It will kill Gengar and Breloom when they try to sleep you. Gyro Ball is nice for countering TTar, and frankly Earthquake is practically useless, because Magnezone always magnet rises before you get the chance. Keep in mind that Lum Berry means no more 8 turns of Rain Dance, which is quite a disadvantage.

Restalk Snorlax is better here because you have nothing to absorb sleep, unless you decide to use Suicune as your restalker.
