Hey guys! I'm here with another RMT. This team managed to go to a score of roughly 1700, but I kept on losing because of bs hax and dropped to 1650 -.- This team is a Mega Diancie hyper offense team. Many people usually use Protect+3 Attacks Mega Diancie, but my team can demonstrate its sweeping capabilities; that's right. The Rock Polish set. After one Rock Polish, Mega Diancie can reach an unbelievable speed even without max EVs on Speed. Of course, Mega Diancie has some problems, especially certain steel types such as Mega Scizor in OU. So, I decided to build a team around it to support it as much as I can.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 180 Atk / 252 SpA / 76 Spe
Naive Nature
- Rock Polish
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Earth Power

Yeah so, this is the star of the show. Mega Diancie. Man, this thing is a threat. Many people expect this thing to have Protect but since RP Diancie is so uncommon, it'll catch 'em off-guard. Also, most people aren't prepared for this thing, and can get completely shrekt lol. The thing I love about Mega Diancie is its power, which is very mandatory for a hyper offensive team. At the same time, it is kinda bulky, I mean 110 Def/Sp Def is nothing to joke around (altho it's hp is something to joke around with lol). Anyways, as described from the intro, my team is built around RP, and to eliminate the threats which threaten Mega Diancie and then it can come in, set up an RP, and start sweeping.
  • Rock Polish: This move is the reason why I'm running the star in the first place. Once it gets a boost, and with the set EVs, it can even outspeed Sand Rush Drill in sand, and can kill off a scarfed (weakened) Lando-T. It is my sweeping move.
  • Diamond Storm: The reason why I'm running 180 Atk. Mixed sweepers are incredibly hard to handle, and Mega Diancie is no exception. Diamond Storm is used to kill off threats such as Gengar, Talonflame, both the Zards.
  • Moonblast: Why do I need to explain this one? Incredibly mandatory STAB, so I can hit threats such as Lando-T, and other physically bulky ground types hard. It's also my way of dealing with Mega Sableye, which my team can struggle with.
  • Earth Power: Extremely necessary. There are Heatrans running around everywhere. I can just OHKO it with EP :] And it's very important against steels in OU.

462.gif

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

I just rattled on and on about how much of a threat steel types are to Mega Diancie, such as Mega Scizor, which is everywhere nowadays. Not to worry, my dear diamond! As long as I have this magnet here, the steel bug will not scare you (unless he smashes it with a Superpower). Anyways, Magnezone is probably, if not definitely, the most important partner Mega Diancie can have. It can trap insanely annoying steels which would otherwise wall and kill Mega Diancie such as Mega Scizor, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and so on. Magnezone is also quite fast, and it hits hard too. Hell, it can outspeed Gyarados and can most likely OHKO it (if it's Mega, then hit it hard and then finish it with Talonflame).
  • Volt Switch: This move is basically a weaker alternative when I don't need to TBolt something. It is also very necessary for momentum.
  • Thunderbolt: Same thing as Volt Switch, only it doesn't retain momentum and is also much stronger.
  • Flash Cannon: A way of killing fairies like Clefable, Mega Diancie, etc.
  • Hidden Power [Fire]: Kills steel types like Mega Scizor which trouble Diancie.
663.gif

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Roost

The smogonbirddddd. Yeah, so Talonflame is actually a great offensive partner with Mega Diancie, because of how Mega Diancie can remove stuff like Heatran (and possibly TTar) and Talonflame can remove stuff which trouble Mega Diancie such as Gengar, and Mega Venusaur. I decided to use an SD set here because in this current meta, the banded set pretty much sucks and the SpDef set doesn't fit with hyper offense. After one SD, Talonflame is extremely scary, as it can simply spam BB after that.
  • Swords Dance: Boosting move lol
  • Flare Blitz: Provides amazing coverage along with Brave Bird, only resisted by Heatran and TTar I believe.
  • Brave Bird: I don't need to explain this right?
  • Roost: The recovery move is absolutely essential for Talonflame, as Brave Bird+Flare Blitz provides so much recoil damage. Also, Gale Wings gives it priority.

gyarados_by_creepyjellyfish-d7a49jf.gif

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 88 HP / 220 Atk / 4 Def / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute

There was a team which someone posted and it was extremely successful for him. His team had an offensive core of Talonflame+Gyarados(+Mega Lopunny), and they help each other out very well. Can someone give me the link to the thread? I can't find it lol I really need to tag the team. Anyways, Gyarados is a monster. Many people are never prepared for a normal Gyarados, as there's Mega Scizor/Mega Metagross/Mega Altaria/Mega Lopunny running around everywhere. Normal Gyarados is just...unexpected lol. I adjusted the EVs so that it has enough bulk and at the same time, is capable of sweeping teams. I'm using a SubDD set because Gyarados hates it when Ferrothorn Leech Seeds, and is capable of dealing with Rotom-W in a certain situation. Once you set up a Sub, Rotom-W's only option is to Volt Switch, so it has to switch to another Pokemon. And then you sub again, and Rotom-W comes back in. In those turns, you can simply keep on racking up DDs.
  • Dragon Dance: Boosts Gyarados' attack and speed. It's extremely scary to face after about 2 DDs and it's bulky and shit. Lol.
  • Waterfall: STAB, chance of flinching.
  • Bounce: Great way of dealing with Mega Venusaur. Also has STAB.
  • Substitute: Used to avoid status from Pokemon like Mew, and can annoy Rotom-W. Ferrothorn gets annoyed too.

terrakion_by_designdolllover-d8xfpjm.gif

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Of course, every hyper offense team needs a lead. There were options like SashChomp, Sash Mamoswine, Sash Azelf, and Sash Terrakion. I decided to choose Terrakion because it's fast, it has the move Taunt, it can set up rocks and also, unlike Azelf, it has incredible coverage with CC and Stone Edge, which hit pretty hard. There are loads of Weaviles nowadays, and they usually lead as Weavile is imo, the biggest threat in the metagame atm. Terrakion can OHKO it ez. Terrakion is an amazing lead, as it provides offensive pressure at the very beginning of the game.

  • Stealth Rock: Hazards are necessary nowadays
  • Taunt: To prevent stuff like Garchomp and other leads from setting up rocks.
  • Close Combat: STAB. Hits loads of stuff hard.
  • Stone Edge: So birds can get rekt lel

latios.gif

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Memento

Latios is obviously in the top 10 in usage stats, and for a good reason. Its speed, its power, and the ability to defog is only matched by Latias, who doesn't fit in hyper offense teams. It is probably one of my only checks to Keldeo, with the other one being Gyarados. However, this is no ordinary Latios set. This is a set which makes sweeping easier, and I got this set from 3MV33 from Pokemon Online (shoutout to you mate :] ). I know there are certain IV spreads which minimize Life Orb recoil, but I'm not sure on what they are. Can someone help me out with that? Thanks :). Latios is also my only way of dealing with Rotom-W.
  • Draco Meteor: Hard hitting STAB.
  • Psyshock: Hits blobs like Sylveon+Chansey very hard.
  • Defog: Supports Talonflame+Gyarados.
  • Memento: A very surprising move. This lowers the Attack and the Special Attack of a Pokemon by two stages but the user of this move dies lmao. Thing is, this is great for my sweepers. Let's say, I'm on Lati and the guy switches to a Pursuit trapper like TTar. Latios can't exactly do anything to TTar. So, I Memento, which means that I can bring in Talonflame/Gyarados/Mega Diancie and attempt to set up and sweep.

Conclusion_Logo_-_Cool_Dots_Font.jpg

So, therefore, my team has done pretty well in the ladder until bs hax. Of course, this is a hyper offensive team, so hard-hitting Pokemon can be huge threats, and to be fair, hyper offense teams usually have a huge threat list. Pokemon which can trouble me are unpredictable Pokemon such as both of the Zards, and Azumarill. Pokemon like Thundurus can also cause problems to my team, as well as Mega Altaria once it sets up, as it outspeeds Magnezone. This gen has proved that it is impossible to counter the entire metagame with only 6 Pokemon, and it will probably be harder to battle as there are new generations. However, I look forward to the future of Pokemon. Which is why I ask you, to suggest as many changes as possible, so my team could benefit. You can also try out my team by copy pasting the importable down below. This is my team. Thank you for reading.

Ah, I like this HO team right here. Its job is pretty clear: set rocks, try to memento/set up and sweep. Here you have some spreads you can have better than the ones you're running atm:

Talonflame just needs the Speed to outpace Thundurus and hit it with Flare Blitz, so this spread is the best he can have:

Baptism by fire (Talonflame) @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Roost

This maximizes your bulk while still hitting some threats like Thundurus/Metagross fast with some STAB Blitzs.

As for the Terrakion, I see you're using Taunt to prevent hazards off your field, but as you have Defog and a Bouncer, you can opt to use SD to tear apart teams after their steels are removed. This also helps with Hippowdon and other fat grounds your team struggles a lot against, such as Landorus-T.

Finally I really like the idea of Latios to support and remove poison types such as Venusaur to allow Diancie to sweep freely when the opposing team is weakened.

Hope this rate is useful to you and GL with the team! :)

This is a really nice team however I think that you are a bit weak to scarf landorus therian.
I would think maybe surf> memento on latios to do some damage to it .
Maybe bulky WoW tflame could work for it as well . I know this is a really good team so i might be just nitpicking :(
WoW deals with mega alt in a way too

Hey, nice team man! It uses the standard balls to the wall Hyper Offence approach, to pressure the opponent into submission and provide winning results. With this said I think your team has a few holes it could use packing up and that why I'm here to help! So without any further delay, lets get straight into the rate, shall we?

First thing I noticed was the lack of four speed Ev's on Mega Diancie, to allow you to out speed jolly Excadrill. This is important, as you don't want to leave game in the balance of a speed tie, when you could easily place four Ev's more to make it 80, and avoid that risk all together.

The next thing I noticed was how incredibly weak your team was to Mega Manectric, as it out speeds everything on your team including your choice scarf user and can freely Volt Switch around to weaken your team or outright kill three out of six Pokemon . I think there a few ways you can handle this, without taking much away from the team itself. Here are my two suggestions:

  • Suggestion 1 - Roost > memento on Latios, ss this allows you to recover the damage dished out by your opponent and keep going for rest of the match. You also really don't need memento, as your current set up Pokemon provide there own chances to set up fairly well.
  • Suggestion 2 - Latias > Latios, as the extra bulk provides a more reliable way to deal with Mega Manetric, seeing as the damage output is a lot less. It also provides an identical identity on your team, to replace latios, so your not missing out much bar some added power.

Sorry this is pretty short, but Alastor Law already made a lot of great suggestion, that I felt unnecessary to touch on again. Anyway, I hope you are able to get something out of my few nitpicks and I wish you the best with your future endeavors with this team!

Alastor Law Thanks for the rate! Yeah, that's a super cool spread and I'll definitely try it out on my team. :] And I replaced Taunt to SD, and i'll try it later. Thank you!

FairySteel Thanks for the rate, bud! Yeah, I'm extremely weak to scarf Lando-T (I have problems with it all the time lol) so I'm thinking of replacing Terrakion with something like Sash Mamoswine or a bulky Hippowdon. What do you think?

Snowy. Thanks for the rate, Snowy! I'll definitely try out the extra speed on Mega Diancie as speed ties always cost me the game but hey, it happens. Don't want that risk anymore so I'll take your suggestion. For Latios, I'm seriously loving Memento now (as there are TTars running around everywhere in the 1650s) and they all carry Pursuit so I just Memento. However, you're absolutely right about Mega Manectric. I'm thinking of replacing Terrakion with something like Sash Mamoswine, or maybe a bulky Hippowdon.

Hey there,
So i don't have enough time to make a rate now but i noticed a mistake in your Diancie spread that doesn't make the optimal use of your evs. Most diancie's are rash, but since you prefer the extra attack a spread of 68 Atk / 252 SpAtk / 188 speed with a naughty nature will give you 10 extra attack points for the same amount of EVs while hitting the same speed and Satk. I'll properly rate this team later with an edit to my post but wanted to point that out. Cheers!

Sex Money Swagg hey fren :]] And idk LOL i saw the spread somewhere. it just hits super hard and shit but yeah maybe i can change the spread.

FlamingVictini Hey man :] thanks for the rate! Yeah I'll definitely change the spread and try it out. But a question is what does Diamond Storm kill with 68 atk EVs compared to 176 Atk? :]

Its not like that the spread specifically does something different, it just gives you 9 Extra attack points without losing ANY points in any other stat. You just used your EVs and nature innefficiently which I noticed and fixed, so its literally just extra atk points without losing anything.
