ORAS OU Sand Hyper Offense Peaked 58th(1789 elo) Need Help

Hello everyone. Today I'm bring you another Sand Offense RMT. I really wanted to use a sand offense team with lead Lum Berry SD Lead chomp instead of a sand setter as a hazard lead. I believe despite the decent ladder I got with this team it needs alot of work to become truly effective. Hence the reason for the RMT. So lets begin.

Proof of Ladder:

Music Recommendation:

garchomp.gif

Sharknado (Garchomp) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance

First we start with SD Lead garchomp. The reasons for this set was because 1. I really wanted to use this set on a sand team and 2. It helps me deals with pokes like Breloom( with focus sash), Mega Sableye and Rotom-W especially if my opponent leads with any of those pokes against me. When facing against Breloom (focus) Lum berry allows me to both set up hazard and break its sash with a dragon claw leaving it every easily to revenge kill because its sash its gone. For Mega Sableye + Rotom-W the combination of
SD + Lum Berry allows me to do massive damage to those defensive pokes because the allowed opportunity to set up since the Lum berry absorbed the Will-O-Wisp. Garchomp ground type negates Rotom's Volt which which allows massive damage against it then hazard set up.
charizard-mega-y.gif

Bahamut (Charizard) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Focus Blast
- Roost
- Solar Beam
- Flamethrower

The reason why I chose Zard Y For this team because S it supports sand very well by checking most pokes Sand offense is walled by. Zard Y either 1hko or 2hko also all the pokes that can wall sand offense team like Gliscor, Rotom-W, Hippowdon, Suicune, Skarmory Quagsire etc..... The reason why its modest instead of timid is because Their really nothing it wants to out speed as a special wallbreaker and because Its flamethrower 2hko mega sableye even at plus 1 SpDef. Flamethrower is mainly because I dont want to miss Fire blast anymore. I cant handle the tears.

excadrill.gif

Grand Mole (Excadrill) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

There isn't much can say about this excadrill. It the standard Sand rush set really The reason why its jolly instead of adamant because I don't want to get into any speed ties with other excadrills since the common nature of the set is Adamant and that this team is weak to other sand offense teams. Rock slide deal with bird spam while Excadrill is in the sand because SD Talonflame cant even 2hko excadrill with Prio neutral Brave bird. 252 Atk Sharp Beak Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Excadrill: 129-152 (35.7 - 42.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO. Iron is to deal with fairies excluding azumarill. Iron head has a huge chance to 1HKO standard clefable. 252 Atk Life Orb Excadrill Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 369-437 (93.6 - 110.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO

thundurus.gif

Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Superpower
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave

Thundurus main role on this is as a special attaker to deal with bulky water types and pokes like skarmory so Zard Y didnt have the pressure to get rid of threats to sand alone. The reason for superpower instead of Focus blast is 1. It hurts the soul when focus blast miss don't you dare say other wise and 2. It has a good potential to 2hko Chansey after rocks. Thundurus helps against Bird spam. Proirity T-Wave helps me gain the speed advantage and help me revenge kill against set up sweepers.

tyranitar.gif

Gojira (Tyranitar) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 166 HP / 252 Atk / 90 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Stone Edge

Now since Garchomp was the hazard setter of the team I decided to use banded Tyranitar as the sand setter. Banded Tyranitar helps as a stall breaker becaue this team has issues with stall. Superpower has the chance to OHKO Chansey. This Tyranitar is a Lati Twins switch in and trapper because of pursuit.
Also Tyranitar's Stone Edge able to kill Talonflame with Stone Edge even if its burned.

252+ Atk Choice Band Tyranitar Superpower vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Chansey: 584-688 (90.9 - 107.1%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

keldeo.gif

Colt (Keldeo) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Icy Wind
- Secret Sword

Now when finishing this team I really needed to deal with Bisharp, Scarf Lando-T, Weavile and Lopunny-Mega. This Keldeo set help me deal with all these threats. I made it modest because I didn't need the extra speed of timid nature because modest nature + choice scarf out speed max speed scarf Lando-T and Lopunny-M. Keldeo can can switch on Bisharp. Weavile and Lopunny-M's fake out. Since its faster than team due to scarf and 1HKO those 3 pokes with secret sword without taking extra damage since its faster than those pokes. Scald of this keldeo can also 1HKO scarf Lando-t. Icy wind helps deal with dragons and to help agaisnt set up sweepers to revenge kill them easier.

In conclusion I hope that this team can be improved upon alot because I really like this team. If possible please send/post here any replays people who use this team and/or any edits you make with the team to me good or bad doesnt matter to me. Have a nice day everyone and see ya next time.

Hi there Terry24, really nice team you have there however there are a few suggestions I'll like to give to improve the team :]
  1. I really liked the idea of Charizard-Y along with Choice Band Tyranitar as they synergize really well. Disagreeing with what Joshz mentioned, I feel that Pursuit is definitely necessary on Tyranitar so as to trap things like Latios or Latias which are the most common switch-ins for Charizard-Y and Keldeo. Pursuit also make it easier for you to weaken things like Chansey if they choose not to stay in against it. You can also run a little less Speed EVs on Tyranitar to creep Skarmory. You only need 76 to do so while Skarmory that choose to run Speed EVs usually go above what you have on your Tyranitar right now so do take note of that.

  2. With a Sand Rush Excadrill along with a Keldeo on your team for speed control, you may want to replace Thundurus for a Latios/Latias on your team to actually provide a Water switch in which your team really lacks, it can also provide hazard control through Defog.

  3. With Defog support from Latios/Latias, Excadrill can replace Rapid Spin with Swords Dance which makes it a potent sweeper that can run through team easily late game. With that, you can also replace Life Orb for Air Balloon which gives you a lot more opportunity to set up and pull off the sweep. However if you do choose to stay with Thundurus instead of the changes suggested, I'll actually recommend going for Grass Knot or Nasty Plot on Thundurus instead of Superpower because your team have no issue in dealing with Chansey or opposing Tyranitar while people are starting to use things like Hippowdon to come in against Thundurus as it avoids being 2HKO'ed by Hidden Power Ice. With Nasty Plot or Grass Knot, you are capable of bypassing that and do heavy damage to a lot of things as well.
Hope it helps :]
