[OVERVIEW]

Sandygast is a powerful special attacker with great physical bulk, allowing it to become an adequate sweeper under the right circumstances. These great stats combined with its offensive typing, which allows it to both spinblock and intercept Volt Switch while also giving it good neutral coverage, give it a significant niche. It also has a nice array of coverage moves. Sandygast is pretty sluggish even though it has Rock Polish to make up for its low Speed. One of Sandygast's major flaws is its low Special Defense which makes it weak to special attackers. Sandygast also lacks access to a useful ability, as it can only choose between Water Compaction and Sand Veil, both of which are mediocre abilities. Sandygast is outclassed by other Ground-type Pokemon such as Diglett and Mudbray in an offensive role because their good abilities and coverage give them more offensive presence; however, Sandygast is one of the strongest Ground-type special attackers. Sandygast may have a good offensive typing, but it is held back by its weakness to the commonly seen Knock Off and its low Speed.

Moves
=========

Rock Polish is Sandygast's main move, as it allows Sandygast to increase its Speed to turn it into an adequate sweeper; it also allows Sandygast to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame. Earth Power is one of Sandygast's STAB moves, hitting Steel-, Rock-, and Fire-types such as Magnemite, Onix, and Ponyta. Shadow Ball is Sandygast's other powerful STAB move, hitting Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Natu and Gastly for super effective damage. Destiny Bond can be used to take down Staryu and non-Choice Scarf Pawniard along with other Pokemon that would be a threat to Sandygast's team, although it is best used after Rock Polish has been used and Sandygast has been weakened to the point where it can be easily OHKOed.

Set Details
=========

Sandygast's EV spread along with a Modest nature allows it to hit as hard as possible with its two STAB moves and outspeed the entire unboosted metagame after it uses Rock Polish. The HP and Special Defense EVs allow Sandygast to almost always survive one Scald from Staryu. Berry Juice allows Sandygast to recover health so it can proceed to sweep with its powerful moves and Rock Polish; it also allows Sandygast to spinblock and take down Staryu efficiently. Water Compaction is the best choice out of Sandygast's two abilities, but is a mediocre ability overall as Sandygast generally shouldn't switch into Water-type moves regardless of its ability.

Usage Tips
=========

Sandygast's main purpose is to spinblock and take down Staryu, which is one of the most powerful and effective spinners in LC. Sandygast's EV spread allows it to take a Scald from Staryu most of the time, recover its HP with Berry Juice, and set up with Rock Polish to outspeed Staryu. Sandygast can then proceed to use Destiny Bond and take Staryu down with it. This should only be done if maintaining entry hazards on the opponent's side of the field is important for your team. Sandygast has a nice niche in being able to spinblock common spinners such as Drilbur and Staryu while being able to prevent Volt Switch from Pokemon like Magnemite. After all Flying- and Dark-type Pokemon have been eliminated, Sandygast can proceed to spam its STAB moves after it sets up although it still needs to beware of its remaining checks. In addition to beating Staryu, Sandygast can use Destiny Bond to take down other threatening Pokemon such as non-Choice Scarf Pawniard. Sandygast needs to set up with Rock Polish before bringing down the opposing Pokemon with Destiny Bond. Slow U-turns and Volt Switches allow Sandygast to set up more easily as Sandygast struggles to take hits as a result of its low bulk.

Team Options
=========

Due to its low bulk and its requirement to set up before being useful, Sandygast needs a lot of support from its teammates. Pokemon that resist the common Dark-type moves from Pokemon such as Pawniard and Vullaby make good teammates. Fighting-type Pokemon or priority users such as Timburr and Croagunk can deal with Pawniard, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Snubbull can deal with Vullaby. Alolan Sandshrew, Onix, and Chinchou make good teammates because they can take down the Normal / Flying types that wall Sandygast; Magnemite in particular appreciates Sandygast's ability to switch into Fighting-type moves while the former can tank most moves aimed at Sandygast, giving them good defensive synergy. Flying-type Pokemon such as Rufflet and Vullaby are also good teammates because they can deal with Grass-type Pokemon such as Snivy and Cottonee that check Sandygast. Furthermore, Sandygast can take out most Rock-, Steel-, and Electric-types that trouble most Flying-types with Earth Power. Although they don't provide much defensive synergy, Fire-type Pokemon such as Ponyta and Larvesta can also deal with Grass-, Steel-, and Ice-types such as Snivy, Pawniard, and Alolan Sandshrew. Entry hazards allow Sandygast to sweep more easily as they break Sturdy and Focus Sash. Rock-type Pokemon such as Onix and Archen can help take care of Flying-types for Sandygast and can also set entry hazards to aid Sandygast's sweeping capabilities. In return, Sandygast can spinblock and take care of most Steel-types and spinners. Slow U-turn and Volt Switch users such as non-Choice Scarf Chinchou and Larvesta can help bring Sandygast safely.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=========

A defensive set utilizing Eviolite and Shore Up can be run along with more defensive EVs but it is generally less effective than the main set. Ancient Power, Energy Ball, or Psychic can be used against different varieties of Pokemon; however, Destiny Bond is usually more effective in bringing Pokemon down than coverage moves. Sandygast can be used as a secondary sand setter in sand teams due to its access to Sandstorm and Sand Veil, but it has difficulty finding a place for Sandstorm with its limited moveslots . Trick Room teams can utilize Sadygast's low Speed, although it needs a lot of support to sweep efficiently. Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit Flying- and Grass-types but is rather weak and likely cannot land an OHKO anyway. Hidden Power Fire can also be used mainly to hit Ferroseed but has little utility otherwise.

Checks & Counters
============

**Flying-types**: Since the majority of Flying-types are Normal / Flying type, they are immune to Sandygast's STAB moves and can KO it without taking any damage. Vullaby is a good check to Sandygast, as it resists Shadow Ball and can either KO Sandygast with super effective Dark-type moves or use it as setup bait. The rare Ancient Power doesn't do much to Vullaby either.

**Dark-types**: The aforementioned Vullaby and Pawniard can easily deal with Sandygast as they outspeed Sandygast before it uses Rock Polish and KO it with Knock Off. After Sandygast uses Rock Polish, Dark-type Pokemon must watch out for Destiny Bond, and Pawniard especially should watch out for Earth Power.

**Water-types**: Although Sandygast has Water Compaction, the majority of Water-types in the metagame are special attackers that ignore the +2 Defense Sandygast gains and can proceed to KO it with super effective STAB Water-type moves. Carvanha can OHKO Sandygast with Waterfall and Aqua Jet, and Corphish can use an Adaptability-boosted Crabhammer to OHKO Sandygast or use it as Dragon Dance bait. Chinchou can easily KO Sandygast but fears Earth Power if Sandygast uses Rock Polish.

**Grass-types**: Grass-type Pokemon resist Earth Power and some can take Shadow Ball. Foongus is 3HKOed by the rare Psychic, but it can make quick work out of Sandygast with Giga Drain. Snivy outspeeds Sandygast and can easily OHKO it with Leaf Storm and Ferroseed walls all of Sandygast's moves except for the rare Hidden Power Fire and can KO it with Bullet Seed.

**Ice-types**: Snover is a good check to Sandygast as it doesn't take much damage from Earth Power. Alolan Vulpix can 2HKO Sandygast and take an Earth Power or Shadow Ball. Life Orb Adamant Alolan Sandshrew can OHKO Sandygast with 3 or more hits from Icicle Spear. Lastly, Choice Scarf Amaura outspeeds unboosted Sandygast and can always OHKO it with a Refrigerate-boosted Hyper Voice.

**Fast Choice Scarf Users**: Choice Scarf users with more than 15 Speed can outspeed a boosted Sandygast and some of them have super effective moves that can make quick work of it. Choice Scarf Pawniard and Vullaby KO it with super effective Dark-type moves, while Choice Scarf Timid Chinchou can KO Sandygast but needs to be careful of Earth Power if it survives a hit. Choice Scarf Gastly can OHKO Sandygast with Shadow Ball and is immune to Earth Power, but it can't reliably switch in.

mention outclassed by other bulky ground-types
mention Rock Polish under the fact that it has poor Speed

Set
take out the word lure

Moves
the last points is really wordy and sounds kinda weird imo, but that's just a personal thing
the word respectively isn't needed in the 3rd point
if you want to mention it's a lure, include it here as well as usage stats

Set Details
don't call Berry Juice reliable recovery as it can be worked around easily by opponents

Usage stats
mention not to switch it into Water-types in hopes of getting +2 SpD, as most of them can just KO it
Change the point about when Dark- and Flying- types are gone, be free to sweep, as Sandygast has other checks. Change the point to include this fact

Team Options
mention Rock-types in particular as they check Flying-types and can set up SR
Dont make Flying- and Fire-types the same point
Give more examples

Other Options
combine Hidden Power points
Say Destinty Bond is usually more effective than Ancient Power and such

[OVERVIEW]
  • Mention that is typing means that it is one of only two Pokemon in LC who can both spinblock and is immune to Volt Switch, as this is its major niche. Also mention that its typing is great offensively, as it has great neutral coverage.
  • Change the point about its analysis. Saying that its ability doesn't grant a Water immunity is weird, it's like saying 'Diglett's Arena Trap doesn't grant an immunity to Ground-type moves'. It's true, but irrelevant. Just say that it has only mediocre abilities. You can say that Sand Veil is entirely useless unless Sandygast is used in the rare sand, while Water Compaction requires Sandygast to be hit by a super effective move before coming into effect, and doesn't boost its weaker Special Defense, which is also what Water-types usually hit.

  • Mention that the defensive investment allows Sandygast to nearly always take an unboosted Scald from bulky Staryu, allowing Sandygast to spinblock it.
Usage Tips
=========
  • The main idea of this set is to switch into Staryu, block Rapid Spin, take one Scald while setting up a RP, recover back up with Berry Juice, go for Destiny Bond, and thanks to Analytic, Scald will now KO Sandygast, meaning Staryu goes down. Make this clear.
  • Mention bringing Sandygast on free switches, like a slow Volt Switch/U-turn or after a teammate goes down, as it struggles to switch into moves it's not immune to due to its low bulk. After being brought in, it might sweep with an RP.
Team Options
=========
  • Mention examples of Flying-types that have good type synergy with Sandygast (Rufflet, Vullaby)
  • Mention slow VoltTurners like Vullaby and Chinchou to bring in Sandygast for free
  • Entry hazard users should be emphasised more, as Sandygast is great at spinblocking and taking out bulky Staryu, which is the most common spinner

  • Don't say Normal/Flying-types can't hurt Sandygast back, LO Doduo and any Rufflet can OHKO Sandygast with Brave Bird. Just say they are immune to both its STABs.
  • Don't say Crabhammer + Adaptibility, say Adaptibility (boosted) Crabhammer.
  • Don't mention Deerling. I know it walls Sandygast, but it's not very relevant.

Overview
* I'd say your first sentence is a little too fluff and is also just kind of awkward wording. I'd structure it a little differently in saying something like, "Sandygast is a fairly powerful and physically bulky sweeper in the LC metagame, etc etc etc"
* Also remember in changing your first sentence that mentioning exact base stats is more often than not discouraged, just refer to its Defense and Special Attack stats as high rather than giving the exact stat number.
* Sandygast's Knock Off weakness should be mentioned after you've covered all of its perks, since pros are always mentioned before cons.
* I don't think you need to go into too much detail when you talk about Sandygast's mediocre abilities. I'd just keep it short and sweet in saying something like "Sandygast also lacks a useful offensive ability to help compensate for its mediocre base stats."
* Elaborate a little on why Sandygast is generally outclassed by Diglett and Mudbray (worse Speed, bulk and ability).

Set
Good

Moves
* I wouldn't say that Sandygast specifically outpaces Staryu, since it becomes faster than everything after Rock Polish. Instead just say that Sandygast outspeeds the entire unboosted metagame after a Rock Polish boost.
* Give examples of Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon that Shadow Ball hits for sufficient damage.
* Specify that Destiny Bond is useful for fainting foes once Sandygast has been weakened.

Set Details
* Instead of saying that Sandygast outspeeds 'a lot of Pokemon' after a Rock Polish, just say that it outspeeds the entire unboosted metagame.
* You Water Compaction sentence is a bit of a run on sentence and should be reworded. Sand Veil doesn't need to be mentioned at all, so just say the ability is more useful for properly taking care of Staryu and remove any other information, since saying its bad and telling us why is a little unnecessary.
* I'd also remove your Corphish and Carvanha mentions, since both still 1v1 Sandygast.

Team Options
* Give more examples of Grass-type Pokemon that check Sandygast, one isn't enough.
* Staryu doesn't run Choice Scarf, remove your mention of that.
* You never finish your last sentence, make sure to do this and specify that these slow pivots help bring Sandygast in safely.

Other Options
* I wouldn't say that a defensive set is outclassed by the main set, they do different things. Change 'outclassed by' to 'less effective than'
* Remove your physical set mentions completely. Physical Sandygast isn't close to viable enough to warrant a mention in oo
* 'Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit Flying-, Dragon-, and Grass-type Pokemon'
Dragon-type Pokemon aren't relevant, just say it hits Flying- and Grass-types.

Checks and Counters
* 'however, if Sandygast sets up already, Pawniard needs to watch out for Earth Power, but Sandygast needs to watch out for Sucker Punch.'
This part of you Dark-type line isn't necessary since Pawniard will always click Sucker Punch and its run on anyway. Remove this part of your sentence and add that the aforementioned Dark-types should be wary of Destiny Bond.
* Sandygast shouldn't be referred to as 'the latter' - this isn't grammatically correct.
* "although some are specially frail and can take adequate damage from Shadow Ball"
Remove this part of the sentence in your Grass-type line, it makes the sentence run on.
* "but takes neutral damage from Shadow Ball but it easily OHKOes Sandygast with Blizzard, although Choice Scarf Snover gets OHKOed by the rare Hidden Power Fire"
"but gets OHKOed by Earth Power from Sandygast if it doesn't have the Eviolite"
"but the former gets OHKOed by Earth Power."
All of these are parts of sentences in your Ice-type section that should just be removed. You don't need to mention how hard they're hit by Sandygast's attacks when they revenge kill it anyway.
*but it cannot switch into the latter's Shadow Ball because it gets OHKOed by Shadow Ball plus the residual damage from Stealth Rock.
Again, this is a run on sentence. Keep it short and sweet and just say that Gastly can't reliably switch in.

Implement these changes and give yourself 3/3

Sandygast, despite its looks, (fluff) is actually a powerful special attacker with great physical bulk, allowing it to become an adequate sweeper with the right circumstances. These great stats combined with its offensive typing, which allows it to spinblock and intercept Volt Switch gives it a sweet significant (informal) niche; its typing can also gets gives it effective neutral coverage. It also has a nice array of coverage moves, although some aren't as viable in LC. Sandygast is pretty sluggish as it looks (fluff), although it has Rock Polish to make up for its slow low Speed (it's not the Speed that's slow, it's sandygast). One of Sandygast's major flaws is its Special Defense, because unfortunately it isn't as good comparing to as its physical Defense, making it weak to special attackers. Sandygast also lacks access to good abilities, as it can only choose between Water Compaction and Sand Veil, which are mediocre abilities. Sandygast is outclassed by other Ground-type Pokemon in an offensive role, such as Diglett and Mudbray because of their good abilities and their movepool coverages coverage giving them more offensive presence, however, Sandygast is one of the strongest Ground-type special attackers that is a Ground-type or is half Ground (concise). Sandygast may have a good offensive typing, but its defensive typing isn't that good because of its weakness to Knock Off, a very common move, (AC) which that can deal plenty of damage to Sandygast.

Moves
=========
Rock Polish is Sandygast's main move, (AC) as it allows Sandygast to increase its sluggish Speed to turn it into an adequate sweeper, (RC); it also allows Sandygast to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame along with Staryu, its main target. Earth Power is one of Sandygast's STAB moves, (AC) hitting hitting Steel-, Rock-, (AC) and Fire-types such as Magnemite, Onix, and Ponyta, (RC); it can also be used to clean up weakened Pokemon. Shadow Ball is Sandygast's other powerful STAB move, (AC) hitting Psychic- and Ghost-types mostly after a Rock Polish, (RC). Just like Earth Power it can also be used to deal substantial neutral damage, (RC). Shadow Ball can be used to hit Pokemon such as Gastly and Natu. (you said this above basically) Destiny Bond can be used to take down Pokemon that would be a threat to the Sandygast's team, although it is best used after Sandygast uses Rock Polish. Destiny Bond is mainly used to take down Staryu and all Pawniard variants except for the Choice Scarf set; Destiny Bond is mostly useful when Sandygast has been weakened.

Set Details
=========

Sandygast's EV spread allows Sandygast it to hit as hard as possible with its two STAB moves, it also gains uses maximum Speed EVs, to be able to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame when after it uses Rock Polish. As with Sandygast's defensive The HP and Special Defense EVs, it allows allow Sandygast to be mostly 2HKOed by Scald from Staryu, (AC) as it increases Sandygast's bulk by a significant margin (this doesn't make sense, why would the defensive EVs be used so that Sandygast is "mostly 2HKOed by Scald". surely that's a bad thing?). Sandygast's Berry Juice allows it to recover health so it can proceed to sweep with its powerful moves and Rock Polish, (RC); it also allows Sandygast to spinblock and take down Staryu efficiently. A Modest nature allows Sandygast to hit as hard as possible with its two STAB moves allowing it to become an adequate sweeper. Sandygast's Water Compaction ability is it's its best choice out of its other two abilities, but overall is a mediocre ability, (AC) which allows Sandygast to take physical Water-type moves quite effectively, although they are somewhat rare, (AC) and Sandygast generally shouldn't switch into them in the first place.

Usage Tips
=========

Sandygast's main purpose is to spinblock and take down Staryu, one of the most powerful and effective spinblockers spinners (assuming you mean this) in LC. Sandygast's EV spreads allow spread allows it to take a Scald from Staryu most of the times time, recover its HP with Berry Juice, (RC) and set up with Rock Polish, (AC) allowing it to outspeed Staryu. Then, Sandygast can use Destiny Bond and Staryu's Analytic boosted Scald KOs Sandygast which takes take Staryu down with it, as it is KOed by Staryu's Analytic boosted Scald; this should only be done if maintaining entry hazard hazards on the opponent's side of the field is important in for your team. Sandygast may have Water Compaction, but it shouldn't switch into Water-type moves anyways anyway because most of them are special attacks and the +2 Defense it gains doesn't matter. Sandygast has a nice niche in being able to spinblock and prevent a Volt Switch, meaning it can easily switch into a Rapid Spin, especially if its it's from Staryu, or switch into a Volt Switch from a Pokemon like Magnemite, and proceed to KO it, although it needs to be careful of Chinchou if it Sandygast hasn't set up yet. When in battle after After all Flying- and Dark-type Pokemon have been eliminated, it Sandygast can proceed to spam its STAB moves after it sets up, (AC) although it still needs to beware of its remaining checks. Sandygast is a decent spinblocker, (AC) as it can take most common spinners such as Drilbur, (RC); however, the only spinner it truly fears is Staryu. Aside from Staryu, Sandygast can use Destiny Bond to take down other threatening Pokemon such as all Pawniard variants except for the Choice Scarf set, because. Sandygast needs to set up before bringing down the opposing Pokemon with it, because with it's current its unboosted Speed, it wouldn't be isn't able to outspeed anything that is appropriate for Destiny Bond. Slow U-Turns U-turns and Volt Switches, or any free switch in general is beneficial because it allows Sandygast to set up Rock Polish almost safely, (AC) because it struggles to against moves that hit it because of as a result of (you use because too much here imo) its low bulk.

Team Options
=========

Due to its low bulk, Sandygast might need needs (don't sound uncertain - it either does need a lot of support or doesn't) a lot of support from its teammates. Pokemon that resist the common Dark-type moves from (you can't resist a Pokemon, only a type) Pokemon such as Pawniard and Vullaby make for good teammates, (RC); Fighting-type Pokemon or priority users such as Timburr and Croagunk can deal with Pawniard, and Fairy-type Pokemon such as Snubbul Snubbull can deal with Vullaby. Flying-type checks such as Alolan Sandshrew, Onix, and Chinchou make good teammates because they can take down the Flying-types that wall Sandygast, especially the half Normal typing ones those with a secondary Normal-type; Magnemite in particular appreciates Sandygast's ability to switch into Fighting-type moves while the former can bulk tank most moves aimed at Sandygast, forming a giving them good typing synergy. Flying-type Pokemon are also good teammates because they can deal with Grass-type Pokemon that check Sandygast, such as Snivy and Cottonee, (RC); Flying-type teammates include Rufflet and Vullaby, furthermore, Sandygast forms a nice typing synergy with them as it can take out most Rock-, Steel-, and Electric-types with Earth Power. Fire-type Pokemon such as Ponyta can also deal with Grass-, Steel-, and Ice-types such as Snivy, Pawniard, and Alolan Sandshrew, all of which would take out Sandygast, although the two types don't form that much of a typing synergy. Entry hazard setters allow Sandygast to operate as a spinblocker as well as a setup sweeper, (RC); it also allows Sandygast to sweep opposing Pokemon with more ease, (AC) as it can also break Sturdy and Focus Sash, (AC) which is pretty important when sweeping. Rock-type Pokemon such as Onix and Archen can help take care of Flying-types for Sandygast and can also set entry hazards to aid Sandygast's sweeping capabilities, (RC); Sandygast in return can also take care of most Steel-types for them and can take care of most spinners and spinblock, (RC); it can also take care of all Staryu variants. U-Turn U-turn and Volt Switch users such as all Chinchou variants except for the Choice Scarf set and Larvesta can help slowly bring in Sandygast safely into the field so it doesn't have to risk switching in.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=========

A defensive set utilizing the Eviolite and Shore Up, Sandygast's signature move (fluff), can be run with more defensive evs EVs, but it is generally less effective than the main set. Ancient Power, Energy Ball, or Psychic can be used as move coverage against different varieties of Pokemon, however, Destiny Bond is usually more effective in bringing Pokemon down than other coverage moves, especially with Pawniard and Staryu. Sandygast can be used as a secondary sand setter in rare sand teams due to its access to Sandstorm and Sand Veil, (AC) which can make it a sand sweeper, (AC) but it has difficulty using Sandstorm due to the four moveslot syndrome. Trick Room teams can utilize Sandygast's sluggish Speed, (AC) although it needs a lot of support to sweep with Trick Room efficiently. Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit Flying- and Grass-types, (AC) but having a teammate that can take care of Pokemon with these types and posses possesses good typing synergy is much better, (RC); Hidden Power Fire can also be used mainly to hit Ferroseed, but as the same case with Hidden Power Ice, it is much better to have a teammate to deal with that instead.

Checks & Counters
============
**Flying-types** Since the majority of Flying-types are Normal / Flying, they are immune to all of Sandygast's moves and can KO it without taking a lot of damage. Vullaby is a good check to Sandygast, (AC) as it resists Shadow Ball and can either KO it with super effective Dark-type moves or use it as setup bait. The rare Ancient Power doesn't do much either.

**Dark-type types Pokemon** The aforementioned Vullaby and Pawniard can easily deal with Sandygast, (AC) as they can outspeed Sandygast before it uses Rock Polish and can KO it with moves such as Knock Off. After Sandygast uses Rock Polish, Dark-type Pokemon such must watch out for Destiny Bond and Pawniard especially should watch out for Earth Power from a +2 Speed Sandygast (you already said "after sandygast uses Rock Polish" above, so this is just repetition).

**Water-types** Although Sandygast has Water Compaction, the majority of Water-types in the metagame are special attackers and they ignore the +2 Defense Sandygast gains and can proceed to KO it with STAB super effective Water-type moves. Sandygast. Carvanha can OHKO Sandygast with Waterfall and Aqua Jet, Corphish can use an Adaptability boosted Crabhammer to OHKO Sandygast or use it as Dragon Dance bait. However, Chinchou fears Sandygast after it uses Rock Polish.

**Grass-types** Grass-type Pokemon can resist Earth Power and some can take Shadow Ball but. Foongus is 3HKOed by the rare Psychic, (AC) but it can make quick work out of Sandygast much faster as it hits the latter's weak Special Defense. Snivy outspeeds Sandygast and can easily OHKO it with Leaf Storm before the latter can even do anything and Ferroseed can wall all of Sandygast's moves except for the rare Hidden Power Fire and can KO the latter with Bullet Seed.

**Ice-types** Snover is a good check against to Sandygast, (AC) as it doesn't take much damage from Earth Power. Alolan Vulpix can 2HKO Sandygast and can take Earth Power, but takes neutral damage from Shadow Ball. Life Orb Adamant Alolan Sandshrew can OHKO Sandygast with 3 or more hits from Ice Spears Spear. Lastly, (AC) Choice Scarf Amaura outspeeds unboosted Sandygast and can always OHKO it with Refrigerate Hyper Voice.

**Fast Choice Scarf users Users** Choice Scarf users with more than base 15 Speed can outspeed boosted Sandygast and some of them have super effective moves that can make quick work out of Sandygast. Choice Scarf Pawniard and Vullaby KO it with super effective Dark-type moves, (AC) while Choice Scarf Timid Chinchou can KO Sandygast but needs to be careful of Earth Power if the latter survives a hit. Moves

Set Details
=========

Usage Tips
=========

=========

Other Options
=========

============

Choice Scarf Gastly can OHKO Sandygast with Shadow Ball and is immune to Earth Power, (AC) but it can't reliably switch into Sandygast.

got'em sir

(this doesn't make sense, why would the defensive EVs be used so that Sandygast is "mostly 2HKOed by Scald". surely that's a bad thing?)

Sandygast usually gets 2HKOed or OHKOed by Scald from Staryu all the time, although with these defensive evs, Sandygast is always 2HKOed or 3HKOed only, allowing it to set up Rock Polish which makes Staryu hit harder due to Analytic, which then OHKOes Sandygast, although Sandygast would use Destiny Bond taking out Staryu, one of its main purposes, hope this cleared up your question!

[OVERVIEW]
Sandygast is a powerful special attacker with great physical bulk, allowing it to become an adequate sweeper with the right circumstances. These great stats combined with its offensive typing, which allows it to spinblock and intercept Volt Switch while also giving it effective neutral coverage, (AC) gives it a significant niche; its typing also gives it effective neutral coverage. It also has a nice array of coverage moves, although some aren't as viable in LC (as viable as they are where? Is Sandygast viable outside of LC?). Sandygast is pretty sluggish, although it has Rock Polish to make up for its low Speed. One of Sandygast's major flaws is its Special Defense, (RC) because unfortunately it isn't as good as its physical Defense, making it weak to special attackers. Sandygast also lacks access to good abilities, as it can only choose between Water Compaction and Sand Veil, which are mediocre abilities. Sandygast is outclassed by other Ground-type Pokemon such as Diglett and Mudbray in an offensive role, such as Diglett and Mudbray because of their good abilities and their coverage giving them more offensive presence;, (Replace comma with semicolon) however, Sandygast is one of the strongest Ground-type special attackers (Remove space in front of period). Sandygast may have a good offensive typing, but its defensive typing isn't that good because of its weakness to Knock Off, a very common move, which can deal plenty of damage to it Sandygast.

It feels conflicting, especially since the beginning of this section is all about how Sandygast is meant to take out Staryu.) A defensive set utilizing Eviolite and Shore Up can be run along with more defensive EVs, (RC) but it is generally less effective than the main set. Ancient Power, Energy Ball, or Psychic can be used as move coverage against different varieties of Pokemon; however, especially with Pawniard and Staryu, (RC) Destiny Bond is usually more effective in bringing Pokemon down than coverage moves. Sandygast can be used as a secondary sand setter in rare sand teams due to its access to Sandstorm and Sand Veil, which can make it a sand sweeper, but it has difficulty finding a place for using Sandstorm with its limited moveslots due to four-moveslot syndrome. Trick Room teams can utilize Sandygast's low sluggish Speed, although it needs a lot of support to sweep efficiently. Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit Flying- and Grass-types but is rather weak and likely cannot land an OHKO anyway, but having a teammate with good typing synergy that can take care of Pokemon with these typings is much better. (Add full stop); (remove semicolon) Hidden Power Fire can also be used mainly to hit Ferroseed, (RC) but has little utility otherwise as with Hidden Power Ice, it is much better to have a teammate to deal with that instead.

Checks and & Counters
============
(Line break)
**Flying-types**:(add colon) Since the majority of Flying-types are Normal / Flying type, they are immune to all of Sandygast's STAB moves and can KO it without taking any a lot of damage. Vullaby is a good check to Sandygast, as it resists Shadow Ball and can either KO Sandygast with super effective Dark-type moves or use it as setup bait. The rare Ancient Power doesn't do much to Vullaby either.

**Dark-types**:(add colon) The aforementioned Vullaby and Pawniard can easily deal with Sandygast, (RC) as they can outspeed Sandygast before it uses Rock Polish and KO it with moves such as Knock Off. After Sandygast uses Rock Polish, Dark-type Pokemon must watch out for Destiny Bond, and Pawniard especially should watch out for Earth Power.

**Water-types**:(add colon) Although Sandygast has Water Compaction, the majority of Water-types in the metagame are special attackers that ignore the +2 Defense Sandygast gains and can proceed to KO it with super effective STAB Water-type moves. Carvanha can OHKO Sandygast with Waterfall and Aqua Jet, and Corphish can use an Adaptability-boosted (remove space) Crabhammer to OHKO Sandygast or use it as Dragon Dance bait. However, Chinchou can easily KO Sandygast but fears Earth Power if Sandygast after it uses Rock Polish.

**Grass-types**:(add colon) Grass-type Pokemon resist Earth Power, (RC and remove extra space) and some can take Shadow Ball. Foongus is 3HKOed by the rare Psychic, but it can make quick work out of Sandygast with Giga Drain, (RC) as it hits the latter's weak Special Defense. Snivy outspeeds Sandygast and can easily OHKO it with Leaf Storm before it moves, and Ferroseed can walls all of Sandygast's moves except for the rare Hidden Power Fire and can KO it with Bullet Seed.

**Ice-types**:(add colon) Snover is a good check to Sandygast, (RC) as it doesn't take much damage from Earth Power. Alolan Vulpix can 2HKO Sandygast and take an Earth Power or but takes neutral damage from Shadow Ball.

**Fast Choice Scarf Users**:(add colon) Choice Scarf users with more than base 15 Speed can outspeed a boosted Sandygast, (RC and remove extra space) and some of them have super effective moves that can make quick work out of it. Choice Scarf Pawniard and Vullaby KO it with super effective Dark-type moves, while Choice Scarf Timid Chinchou can KO Sandygast but needs to be careful of Earth Power if it survives a hit. Choice Scarf Gastly can OHKO Sandygast with Shadow Ball and is immune to Earth Power, but it can't reliably switch into Sandygast.

This may look like a lot of editing, but it's mostly just cutting down unnecessary fluff and keeping the writing clean and concise. The content itself is fine, as is most of the writing style, there is just a lot of stuff that can be paraphrased or removed entirely while preserving the integrity of the analysis content. Don't be too offended by the large amount of red, I didn't change much of your actual writing, it was just making everything more simple with less words. Otherwise, I think the analysis was pretty well-written.

As a side note, I've noticed that this seems to be a common trend with a lot of LC analyses, with the analyses themselves being too long and containing a lot of unnecessary sentences / phrasing that make them cumbersome to navigate for the average reader (as well as more work for GPers), so I would advise keeping things succinct and straight to the point without adding unnecessary content.
