XY OU Scarf Mence returns! a DragMag Outrage spam team.

Hey guys it's been a while since I have posted an RMT, probably a year or so. Anyways back in gen 5 I loved using Scarfed Moxie Salamence as it just wrecked late game. In gen 6 unfortunately the Fairy type was added which actually takes NO damage at all from Dragon moves which was one of the reasons Salamence fell out of OU. I got the idea to make this team because I was looking at Azumarill stats on Bulbapedia and I saw that when holding a Ring Target the effectiveness of Dragon becomes 1x. This team has worked really well so far and it's just fun using but I know it can definitely improve. So on to the team!

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- Tailwind
Mega Charizard X was my Mega of choice as it is a Dragon and it's just a great mon in general. It's here to break wall and also sweep late game if it gets the chance, not even Quagsire can hope to wall as it will be 2HKO'd by Outrage. EV spread is pretty standard and Charizard just makes a great core with Moxie Scarf Salamence. EDIT: EV spread and nature that aim suggested is much better than the old one.

Salamence @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Claw
The star of the team and what this team is built around, this will usually come in late game or mid game to wreck stuff. Outrage because it's 120 power and nothing that doesn't resist wants to take it. Earthquake for Heatran and it hits Tyranitar harder and Aegislash which my team can't really trap. Fire Blast for stuff like Scizor and Ferrothorn and Dragon Claw IF I feel I can sweep with just that.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog
Latios is the third and final Dragon of the team it's here because it's a Drag Mag team and it get rids of Hazards which Charizard and Salamence hates. It's also pretty fast outspeeding a lot of the meta. Also has reliable recovery. Latios is also here to spam powerful Draco Meteors lol. Latios suffers from 4mss though I want to run HP Fire too or Fighting but not sure how to fit it in.

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timi Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Magnezone is here to get rid of pesky steel types who have no trouble taking Dragon moves, it's also good to carry a Steel type in general. I could probably change it to Scarf but Specs does provide that nice power. Thunderbolt is of course the most powerful move, Volt switch keeps momentum while also having a good base power. Flash Cannon is for Pokemon such as Mega Venusaur and Mamoswine. HP Fire is of course for Scizor and Ferrothorn. EDIT: changed to Scarf as recommended by aim to have something for things like Talonflame.

Gothitelle @ Ring Target
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Trick
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic
The other star of the team and the reason I made this team. If you don't know what Ring Target does, if a Pokemon is holding moves it's otherwise immune to, those moves can now hit it. It goes like bread and butter with Gothitelle because of it's ability Shadow Tag. The point of it is to switch in on a Fairy type and trick it a Ring Target so Outrage and Draco Meteor can now hit it. Most teams usually only have one Fairy type on their team or none at all at times. That's not the only reason it's here though as it also allows me to trap and severly weaken stuff like Gliscor and Landorus-T which can be troublesome for Salamence. Thunder Wave also allows it to cripple fast things. Psychic is for Amoonguss and Conkeldurr.

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 21 HP
- Reversal
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
The final member of team, Dugtrio is here to set up Stealth Rock and also get rid of problematic Pokemon such as Tyranitar which paired up with Excadrill is just too deadly, also gets rid of Heatran which Magnezone cannot trap. IV's are to take 2 Seismic Toss from Chansey and retaliate with Reversal. Stone Edge to hit Flying types. Reversal is for Air Balloon and Earthquake sometimes cannot 2HKO Tyranitar.

Hey Pikachuu really cool team! I'm liking the idea of trapping fairies and tricking them ring target, definitely not gonna knock that, it seems really cool. I do however have a few suggestions that I feel would better benefit the team! I feel that Charizard-X doesn't really need a Jolly Nature. You generally only need enough speed, with Tailwind support, to outspeed Adamant Excadrill in sand. The change from Jolly to Adamant i feel is a huge buff in power, allowing you to even be able to one shot Azumarill sometimes and always after rocks. This also allows you to run some added bulk.

Charizard-Mega-X @ Charizardite X
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spe
Adamant Nature

- Outrage
- Tailwind
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
My final suggestion would be changing Magnezone's item from Choice Specs to Choice Scarf. Sure this makes some k0's a 2 hit k0 but with the added speed from Choice Scarf and a Timid Nature this allows you to outpace Talonflame, who is a huge threat to your team and can stop your sweeps with Salamence, and knock it out with Volt Switch/TBolt respectively. With Defog support from Latios I feel that it is okay that you miss out on some knock outs as you are still able to get rid of Scizor and Ferrothorn and Defog away the hazards later on.

Timid Nature

Anyway, that's all i've got. This is actually a really interesting approach at DragMag. I'm interested in seeing how well that Gothitelle does. Hope i helped! :]

Thanks man it really means a lot. I made those changes and idk why I didn't think about Talonflame *facepalm* but yeah it's really troublesome so Scarf will definitely provide me with a way to not just get swept by it. Also I changed to Flare Blitz to Fire Punch since Flare Blitz does wear me down a lot and I only really use it for Steel types which Fire Punch hits hard enough anyway.
