[OVERVIEW]

Simisage faces a lot of competition as an offensive Grass-type in NU from Shiftry and Lilligant. However, its good Speed tier, good mixed offensive stats, and excellent mixed coverage give it a niche for outspeeding and KOing threats like Rotom, Jynx, and Primeape. Simisage also has excellent coverage moves in Knock Off, Superpower, Rock Slide, and Gunk Shot, letting it hit most of the metagame for neutral damage and making it dangerous against offensive teams when facing a slower Pokemon. Sadly, though, Simisage's meager bulk, combined with its weakness to common types in Bug, Fire, Ice, Flying, and Poison, requires it to almost always come in as a revenge killer or via a slow pivot to avoid taking damage; it also makes it difficult for Simisage to make use of its resistances to common moves like Earthquake and Hydro Pump. Even though Simisage's two most used moves, Superpower and Leaf Storm, are incredibly strong, Simisage can be forced out after using them, and it lacks power against neutral foes without them. Besides that, while Simisage's Speed tier is decent, it leaves it slower than threatening foes like Scyther and Pyroar. In general, Simisage is a pretty unreliable Pokemon because almost all of its useful moves incur stat drops, have imperfect accuracy, or both.

Moves
========

Leaf Storm is Simisage's strongest STAB move and hits prevalent Ground-, Rock-, and Water-types like Rhydon, Barbaracle, and Samurott super effectively. To add on to this, Leaf Storm also takes a chuck of health out of any Pokemon that it hits; for example, it takes about 40% of Skuntank's health away. Superpower provides extremely needed coverage for Steel-types like Klinklang and Ferroseed, as well as other threatening Pokemon like Shiftry, Abomasnow, and Pyroar on the switch; it also deals a substantial amount of damage to Miltank, which is immune to Leaf Storm due to its access to Sap Sipper. Rock Slide lets Simisage hit a plethora of Pokemon that threaten it, like Charizard and Vivillon; it can also be used for deterring Assault Vest Magmortar, defensive Xatu, and Scyther from switching in. Gunk Shot allows Simisage to OHKO other Grass-types like Lilligant and Ludicolo, and it can be used against Shiftry if you don't want Simisage to lower its Defense and Attack with Superpower. Gunk Shot also obliterates Clefairy, and it has a chance to 2HKO Mega Audino after it takes Stealth Rock damage if Simisage attacks it on the switch. Giga Drain can be used if you want Simisage to have a form of recovery and a consistent STAB move that doesn't lower its Special Attack two stages every use; however, it is discouraged, considering Simisage loses crucial coverage and power from Gunk Shot, and every Pokemon that Giga Drain hits, Leaf Storm hits for greater damage. Knock Off could also be used over Gunk Shot to give Simisage a way to deal with Eviolite users like Bronzor and Ferroseed; however, Simisage again loses out on crucial coverage and power.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment, alongside 152 Attack EVs and 104 Special Attack EVs, Life Orb, and a Naive nature, allow Simisage to be as fast as possible, outspeeding base 100s, while still having enough EVs to OHKO prominent threats like Kangaskhan with Superpower, Jynx and bulky Charizard with Rock Slide, and Lilligant and Ludicolo with Gunk Shot. Overgrow lets Simisage hit any Pokemon with a freakishly strong Leaf Storm and Giga Drain when it's low on health.

Usage Tips
========

Avoid switching Simisage in directly, as its lackluster bulk causes it to get OHKOed by a lot of neutral hits very often. Avoid Jynx and Vivillon on the chance that they're running Focus Sash, as they can survive one of any move from Simisage and OHKO it in return with Ice Beam or Hurricane. Try to use Leaf Storm, or Giga Drain if you're predicting the opponent to switch in a faster Rock- or Water-type like Choice Scarf Kabutops and Floatzel to deal as much damage to them as possible before being forced out by their huge offensive pressure. Try not to spam Superpower unless necessary, as the stat drops normally force Simisage out unless it can deal a lot of damage with Leaf Storm. Use Leaf Storm to take out huge chunks of health on multiple Pokemon, as Simisage is commonly used as a hit-and-run attacker. Try to spam Rock Slide as much as possible, as it deals decent amounts of damage to all of its targets and can be used for securing a KO on a weakened Pokemon without having to worry about too low of accuracy or dropping Simisage's stats. Use Gunk Shot to predict opposing Fairy- and Grass-types like Clefairy and Lilligant coming in or just to heavily damage, as well as even OHKO them, the first turn in. Switch in on weak or resisted attacks to potentially trigger Overgrow to hit the target or switch-in with a strengthened Leaf Storm or Giga Drain; you can also use this to get a strong Giga Drain and then regain the lost health to repeat the process.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock setters like Mesprit and Omastar are good teammates because the entry hazard support that they provide can turn 2HKOs from Simisage into OHKOs against bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Pelipper, in addition to breaking Focus Sashes from Vivillon and Jynx, allowing Simisage to KO them without worrying about them surviving with one HP and OHKOing it in return. Mesprit also has a slow U-turn, which means that it can safely bring Simisage in most of the time. On the other hand, Omastar can set up both Stealth Rock and Spikes, as well as tank Fire-, Ice-, and Flying-type moves aimed at Simisage and KO the users in return. Water-types like Samurott and Lanturn take care of the Fire-types that threaten Simisage; Lanturn also threatens a lot of the Flying-types that outspeed and can easily OHKO Simisage. Simisage in return takes care of the Grass-types that threaten Samurott and Lanturn, like Ludicolo and Lilligant, with Gunk Shot. Poison-resistant Pokemon like Rhydon, Piloswine, and Steelix are good teammates for Simisage because they can take Poison-type moves from opposing Garbodor and Skuntank with ease and KO them in return; however, be aware that Rhydon and Steelix only take care of physical Skuntank, so Piloswine is a better option if you're worried about facing special Skuntank. Wallbreakers like Tauros are good teammates too because they can weaken a lot of the foes that threaten Simisage and get rid of its checks and counters before it comes in. Hariyama is a good choice of a teammate as well, as its amazing HP stat and access to Thick Fat let it tank Ice- and Fire-type moves for Simisage.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A special set with Focus Blast and an appropriate Hidden Power can be used to lure in physically defensive foes and KO them with ease while also providing stronger Leaf Storms with either Choice Specs or Life Orb. Nasty Plot can be used to threaten a sweep but is difficult to make work due to Simisage's decent-at-best Speed tier and mediocre bulk. Taunt lets Simisage prevent entry hazard setters, status users, and setup sweepers from performing their roles but is difficult to use due to Simisage's low bulk and is hard to fit into a moveslot over a highly needed coverage move. Substitute is good for avoiding Sucker Punch and other forms of priority and can be used alongside Life Orb to trigger Overgrow for boosted Giga Drains to deal heavy hits and regain health with. Gluttony + Salac Berry can be used but is unnecessary and difficult to use unless you're trying to go for a late-game sweep with Simisage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Poison-types like Garbodor, Vileplume, Weezing, and Skuntank can survive any of Simisage's attacks with ease and OHKO it in return with their Poison-type STAB moves.

**Priority Users, Faster Pokemon, and Revenge Killers**: Sucker Punch Shiftry, Skuntank, and Kangaskhan, Bullet Punch Hariyama, Ice Shard Piloswine and Abomasnow, Quick Attack Zangoose, and Mach Punch Gurdurr and Hitmonchan can all either survive a hit from Simisage and 2HKO it with their respective priority moves or come in on it while it's weakened and revenge kill it. Faster Pokemon like Scyther, Swellow, Archeops, Tauros, and Pyroar can switch in on Simisear's main STAB move, Leaf Storm, and force it out, even after Stealth Rock damage. However, even though they all survive a Leaf Storm from Simisear, the amount of damage that they take really hinders their play later in the match, so they're better off just coming in after a teammate has been KOed and forcing Simisage out.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Mega Audino and Musharna are barely even fazed by any of the moves Simisage has to throw at them and can proceed to set up on, PP stall, or outright KO Simisage with ease; they also disregard Leaf Storms from Simisage with recovery moves like Wish and Moonlight, thus rendering Simisage useless.

  • meager 75 / 63 / 63 bulk, doubled with a weakness to bug-, fire-, ice-, flying-, and poison-type moves, all of which are pretty common, make simisage almost always need to come in as a revenge killer or by using a slow pivot to avoid taking damage
- You don't need to list the numbers; mention why this bulk is bad for Simisage. In this case, it limits Simisage's ability to make use of its resistances to attacks such as Earthquake and Hydro Pump and whatnot.

Moves
========
  • superpower provides extremely needed coverage for threatening dark-, normal-, and steel-types like shiftry, kangaskhan, and aggron
  • rock slide lets simisage hit a plethora of pokemon that threaten it like charizard, scyther on the switch, as well as magmortar, choice specs mantine, and offensive xatu after stealth rock; it hits jynx and vivillon super effectively too, but they both can run focus sash to live one hit and KO it in return and jynx can run choice scarf to just outspeed it and ohko it
  • gunk shot allows simisage to ohko other grass types like lilligant and ludicolo and can be used against shiftry if you dont want simisage to lower its defense and attack; it also 2hkoes mega audino if you attack it on the switch
  • seed bomb can be used if you want simisage to have a stab move hitting off of both attacking stats, but is discouraged considering simisage loses crucial coverage and power from gunk shot and everything seed bomb hits, leaf storm hits for equal or greater damage
  • knock off could be used over gunk shot as well for taking care of eviolite mons and for crippling Choice-locked pokemon and leftovers users, as well as providing coverage for rotom and mesprit, but again simisage loses out on crucial coverage and power
- The Superpower targets you mentioned here either don't need to be hit with said move, or are rather specific: Shiftry is the only Dark-type you'd want to use Superpower against, and Aggron already takes a truckload from Leaf Storm as is so idk why you didn't bring up any other Steel-type. It's probably better to mention that Superpower primarily strikes Steel-types like Klinklang and Ferroseed, but also can OHKO particular targets Kangaskhan, Pyroar switch-ins, Shiftry, Abomasnow, etc., as well as do substantial damage to Miltank.
- It kind of looks like you're bashing Rock Slide here. Rock Slide's main purposes are to OHKO Charizard and Vivillon, as well as deter AV Magmortar, defensive Xatu, and Scyther switch-ins (Jynx is already OHKOed by Superpower btw). You don't really need to talk about how their targets can circumvent that (that probably belongs more in Usage Tips, as a precaution for Simisage users). Also Choice Specs Mantine is not really a great Simisage check in the first place, compared to a defensive Mantine anyway.
- Mega Audino is only 2HKOed on the switch if it takes SR damage or Gunk Shot's poison damage. If you wish, you can add that Gunk Shot destroys Clefairy.
- Considering Rotom is OHKOed by Leaf Storm and Mesprit is known for carrying Colbur Berry, these are probably not the best targets. You could actually name some of the Eviolite users that Knock Off helps to cripple, such as Bronzor and Ferroseed.

  • nasty plot/swords dance can be used to threaten a sweep but is difficult to make work due to simisage's only decent speed tier and mediocre bulk
Simisage does not learn Swords Dance.

**Poison-types**: Poison-types like Garbodor and Skuntank can live any of Simisage's attacks with ease and OHKO it in return with their Poison-type STAB moves.

**Jynx**: Despite it's terrible physical bulk, Jynx can quite easily survive a hit from Simisage and OHKO it in return if it's running a Focus Sash, and the Choice Scarf set just outspeeds and OHKOes Simisage as well.
- You could add Vileplume and Weezing as additional examples.
- I don't really know why Jynx is considered an individual check. It can't switch in with any set, and even if it's Sash it may risk getting Rock Slide flinched or something. You already even mentioned Scarf Jynx in the 'Faster Offensive Pokemon' section, so this section is not needed at all.

boltsandbombers Hootie feel free to point out if I'm overstepping any boundaries again, but I want to point something out here.

Personally, I don't feel that Simisage needs to max out its Attack investment; it just doesn't seem to do much for it as it doesn't really hit many notable benchmarks, and its main STAB in Leaf Storm becomes weaker for little reason as a result. I instead propose a set like this:

[SET]
name: Mixed Attacker
move 1: Leaf Storm
move 2: Superpower
move 3: Rock Slide
move 4: Gunk Shot / Giga Drain
item: Life Orb
ability: Overgrow
nature: Naive
EVs: 152 Atk / 104 SpA / 252 Spe

152 Atk Life Orb Simisage Rock Slide vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Charizard: 395-468 (110 - 130.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
152 Atk Life Orb Simisage Superpower vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kangaskhan: 309-364 (88 - 103.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
104 SpA Life Orb Simisage Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rotom: 247-292 (102.4 - 121.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
104 SpA Life Orb Simisage Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Primeape: 266-316 (98.1 - 116.6%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO, guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
The investment here allows Simisage to fully make use of its Speed advantage over Lilligant and Shiftry, hitting a decent balance between Leaf Storm's raw power and Superpower being able to pick off Kanga after SR. Simisage doesn't really miss out on other Rock Slide, Superpower, and Gunk Shot targets either, OHKOing things like bulky Zard, Shiftry, Jynx, Lilligant, and Ludicolo all the same. Also Seed Bomb is a lackluster move compared to Giga Drain on a mon with Overgrow, so might as well take advantage of that.

Moves
========

  • leaf storm is main stab move and hits prevalent ground-, rock-, and water-types like rhydon, barbaracle, and samurott super effectively mention that it chunks pretty much anything it hits, skunk takes about 40% for example
  • superpower provides extremely needed coverage primarily for steel types and other threatening pokemon and is great for steel types like Kangaskhan, Pyroar on the switch, shiftry, abomasnow, Klinklang, and Ferroseed, and it does substantial damage to Miltank

  • giga drain can be used if you want simisage to have a form of gaining back health, but is discouraged considering simisage loses crucial coverage and power from gunk shot and everything giga drain hits, leaf storm hits for equal or greater damage the main advantage of giga drain isn't just recovery, it's also giving a reliable grass move that doesn't lower your SpA so you can still hit the next thing that comes in with full power if you need to.
  • knock off could be used over gunk shot as well for taking care of eviolite mons like Bronzor and Ferroseed, but again simisage loses out on crucial coverage and power

Set Details
========

  • maximum speed, alongside 152 atk and 104 spa evs, life orb, and a naive nature, allow simisage to be as fast as possible, outspeeding base 100s, while still having enough evs to ko prominent threats like kangaskhan jynx, ludicolo, bulky charizard, and lilligant with its respective moves
  • overgrow lets simisage hit any pokemon with a freakishly strong leaf storm and giga drain when it's weakened

Usage Tips
========

  • avoid switching simisage in unsafely, as its lackluster bulk causes it to get OHKOed very often by most neutral hits
  • avoid jynx and vivillon on the chance that they're running focus sash, as they can live one of any hit from simisage and ohko it in return with ice beam and hurricane respectively
  • if the opponent has a scyther on their team and simisage is out, try to predict the switch in to get the ohko on it w/ rock slide before it has a chance to do anything; on the chance that it's swords dance scyther, try to use rock slide as it sets up and then switch out because rock slide doesnt ohko sd scyther, even after stealth rock damage
these usage tips are really barren. there needs to be a lot more detail about when to click stab moves and when to click coverage, what to watch out for when using certain moves, and which parts of the game simisage is most useful at.

Team Options
========
  • stealth rock setters like mesprit, smeargle, carracosta, and rhydon are good teammates because the stealth rock they provide turns 2hkos from simisage into ohkos, and the rocks they set up break focus sashes from vivillon and jynx, allowing simisage to ko them without worrying about them living with 1 HP and ohkoing it in return every pokemon in the game appreciates sr support. get rid of any sr setters that don't work specifically well with simisage and explain the ones that do.
  • mesprit also has a slow u-turn, which lets it safely bring in simisage most of the time
  • carracosta specifically is good because it can both set up rocks and tank fire-, ice-, and flying-type moves aimed at simisage and ko the users in return
  • water-types like samurott and lanturn take care of the fire types that threaten simisage, and lanturn also threatens a lot of the flying types that outspeed and can easily ohko simisage
  • poison-resistant pokemon like rhyhorn, garbodor, and steelix are good teammates for simisage becaue they can take poison-type moves from opposing garbodor and skuntank with ease and ko them in return
  • wallbreakers like tauros are good teammates too because they can weaken the foes and get rid of simisage's checks and counters before it comes in
  • hariyama is a good teammate because its access to thick fat and amazing hp stat lets it tank ice- and fire-type moves for simisage as well
i'd like to see more teammates that can take advantage of simisage's specific traits as well (i.e. coverage + better Speed tier). what you have right now applies to pretty much any other grass-type.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • specially based set w/ focus blast and hidden power can be used to lure in physically defensive foes and ko them with ease while also providing stronger leaf storms with either specs or lo
  • nasty plot can be used to threaten a sweep but is difficult to make work due to simisage's only decent speed tier and mediocre bulk
  • taunt lets simisage prevent entry hazard setters, status users, and setup sweepers from prevailing in their roles but is difficult to use due to simisages low bulk and is hard to fit into simisage's moveset over a highly-needed coverage move

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Poison-types like Garbodor, Vileplume, Weezing, and Skuntank can live any of Simisage's attacks with ease and OHKO it in return with their Poison-type STAB moves.

**Faster Offensive Pokemon**: Faster offensive Pokemon like Choice Scarf Jynx, Scyther, Pyroar, and Tauros can all easily OHKO Simisage with their STAB moves. However, they all must be careful when switching into Simisage, as it can easily KO them with Rock Slide and Superpower.

**Priority Users and Revenge Killers**: Sucker Punch Shiftry, Skuntank, and Kangaskhan; Bullet Punch Hariyama; Ice Shard Piloswine and Abomasnow; Quick Attack Zangoose; and Mach Punch Gurdurr and Hitmonchan can all either live a hit from Simisage and 2HKO it with their respective priority moves or come in on it while it's weakened and revenge kill it. Faster Pokemon like Scyther, Choice Scarf Jynx, Swellow, and Archeops can also come in after one of their teammates are KOed and revenge kill Simisage, and none of them need to worry about getting hit by one of Simisage's attacks because it's a safe switchin.

faster offensive pokemon and revenge killers are the same thing, it would be better to add a category like 'offensive grass resists' like scyther and pyroar that can switch in on its main stab move and force it out

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Mega Audino and Musharna are barely even fazed by any of the moves Simisage has to throw at them and can proceed to set up on, PP stall, or outright KO Simisage with ease.
Implement this and I'll stamp

You say in UT to avoid using Leaf Storm unless necessary, but that's Simisage's best move for early and midgame because Simisage is mostly a hit-and-run attacker already. Change that point to reflect this.

You also didn't list any partners that can take advantage of Simisage's specific niches. The reader needs to know what can work better with Simisage than, say, Lilligant, otherwise they're going to be wondering why to bother using it in the first place. Gurdurr would be an example, because it can take advantage of Simisage weakening Pokemon like Garbodor and Audino to sweep. Any others I'll leave up to you, but there should preferably be more than just this one.

QC 1/3 after that

The sentence on Superpower in usage tips could be a lot simpler; just say the stats drops usually force Simisage out after use unless it can hit the target for good damage with Leaf Storm. The sentence on Rock Slide is also misleading; just say that Rock Slide does good damage to its targets and can be used when you want to secure a KO on a weakened mon without stat drops or Gunk Shot's lower accuracy. The sentence on Scyther is also very specific, and I'm pretty sure Scyther will just U-turn instead of trying to set up on Simisage. I'd just remove it tbh. You could perhaps mention switching into weak / resisted attacks intentionally to trigger Overgrow, letting you get a stronger hit off against the target or a switchin, or recovering the health back with a boosted Giga Drain that might manage to secure the KO with the Overgrow boost.

In team options, mention Omastar when you namedrop Carracosta as an SR setter as it can also provide Spikes. Offensive Omastar is also a good Water-type partner that can be namedropped. You should also clarify that you need offensive checks to Poison-types as teammates; running Garbodor to block Poison-type attacks isn't going to help breaking thrhough their users. Rhydon, Golurk, and Steelix are good shouts here.

For other options, Substitute is decent in general for avoiding Sucker Punch, status, and priority attacks, and you can use it with Life Orb Overgrow Giga Drain to get heavy hits off and heal back up, like Sceptile. You could also mention Gluttony here but between Life Orb and Overgrow it's kinda unnecessary unless you're trying to clean with a Salac berry in the late-game.

In checks and counters, when you talk about bulky Pokemon, emphasise that they can recover off Leaf Storm with Wish / Moonlight etc, rendering Simisage useless as a result. Swellow could also be worth a mention as a fast Grass-resist as it can actually live a Leaf Storm even after SR, and it obviously takes less from Giga Drain.

fofrgot to post but i did this

Eh on second thoughts scrap the Golurk mention; it struggles against Skunk if it isn't Colbur. Also clarify that Rhydon and Steelix only check physical Skuntank, so imo swap Golurk for Piloswine which can take on either Skuntank set pretty well. Also in checks and counters emphasise that the faster Grass-resists can tank the hit if necessary, but at the cost of being able to come in later in the match, so generally they're better at forcing Simisage out after a KO. In this sense other fast Pokemon such as Tauros and Archeops also do this adequately, so imo change that section to faster Pokemon in general.

"gurdurr appreciates simisage's ability to get rid of garbodor"

The above sentence is also completely wrong and should be removed.

In set details, you should also be more explicit about what calcs the above EVs help with; do they help Simisage KO Kangaskhan with Leaf Storm or Superpower for instance? It's a bit confusing at the moment.

I like this EV spread at the moment, the old one didn't have enough power behind its Leaf Storm to be effective, so...

[OVERVIEW]

Simisage faces a lot of competition as an offensive Grass-type in NU from Shiftry and Lilligant. However, its good Speed tier, mixed offensive stats, as well as excellent mixed coverage give it a niche for outspeeding and KOing threats like Rotom, Jynx, and Primape. Even though Simisage's Speed tier is decent, it still leaves it slower than threatening foes like Scyther and Pyroar. Despite a conflicting Speed tier, Simisage has excellent coverage moves in Knock Off, Superpower, Rock Slide, and Gunk Shot, letting it hit most of the metagame for neutral damage, making it dangerous against offensive teams when facing a slower Pokemon. Sadly, though, Simisage's meager bulk, combined with a weakness to common types in Bug, Fire, Ice, Flying, and Poison, require Simisage to almost always come in as a revenge killer or via a slow pivot to avoid taking damage; its meager bulk also makes it difficult for Simisage to make use its resistances to common moves like Earthquake and Hydro Pump. Even though Simisage's two most-used moves, Superpower and Leaf Storm, are incredibly strong, Simisage can be forced out after using them, and it lacks power against neutral foes without them. Here touch on the fact that it's a pretty unreliable mon in general because all of its moves either incur stat drops, have imperfect accuracy, or both

Moves
========

Leaf Storm is Simisage's strongest STAB move and hits prevalent Ground-, Rock-, and Water-types like Rhydon, Barbaracle, and Samurott super effectively. To add on to this, Leaf Storm also takes a chuck of health out of anything it hits; for example, it takes about 40% of Skuntank's health away. Superpower provides extremely needed coverage for Steel-types and other threatening Pokemon like Klinklang, Ferroseed, Shiftry, Kangaskhan, Abomasnow, and Pyroar on the switch Take Kanga out, it's rather out of place, although I know that Superpower KOes after rocks while Leaf Storm doesn't, it just doesn't really fit in this list and isn't worth explaining ; it also deals a substantial amount of damage to Miltank add "whose Sap Sipper ability makes it immune to Leaf Storm". Rock Slide lets Simisage hit a plethora of Pokemon that threaten it, like Charizard and Vivillon; it can also be used for deterring Assault Vest Magmortar, defensive Xatu, and Scyther on the switch. Gunk Shot allows Simisage to OHKO other Grass-types like Lilligant and Ludicolo, and it can be used against Shiftry if you don't want Simisage to lower its Defense and Attack with Superpower. Gunk Shot also obliterates Clefairy, and it 2HKOes Mega Audino after Stealth Rock damage if Simisage attacks it on the switch unless i'm calcing wrong, this is only a 37% chance, so say that it has a chance to 2hko. Giga Drain can be used if you want Simisage to have a form of recovery and a STAB move that doesn't lower its Special Attack two stages every use for consistent damage but is discouraged, considering Simisage loses crucial coverage and power from Gunk Shot, and every Pokemon Giga Drain hits, Leaf Storm hits for equal or greater damage doesn't hit anything for equal damage :P. Knock Off could also be used over Gunk Shot to give Simisage a way to deal with Eviolite users like Bronzor and Ferroseed; however, Simisage again loses out on crucial coverage and power.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment, alongside 152 Attack EVs and 104 Special Attack EVs, Life Orb, and a Naive nature, allow Simisage to be as fast as possible, outspeeding base 100s, while still having enough EVs to KO prominent threats like Kangaskhan with Superpower, Jynx and bulky Charizard with Rock Slide, and Lilligant and Ludicolo with Gunk Shot. Overgrow lets Simisage hit any Pokemon with a freakishly strong Leaf Storm and Giga Drain when it's weak.

Usage Tips
========

Avoid switching Simisage in directly, as its lackluster bulk causes it to get OHKOed by a lot of neutral hits very often. Avoid Jynx and Vivillon on the chance that they're running Focus Sash, as they can live one of any move from Simisage and OHKO it in return with Ice Beam and Hurricane respectively. Try to use Leaf Storm, or Giga Drain if you're running it on Simisage, if you're predicting the opponent to switch in a faster Rock- or Water-type like Choice Scarf Kabutops and Floatzel, if they have it, to deal as much damage to them as possible before being forced out by their huge offensive pressure. Try not to spam Superpower unless necessary, as the stat drops normally force Simisage out unless it can deal a lot of damage with Leaf Storm. Use Leaf Storm to take out huge chunks of health on multiple Pokemon, as Simisage is commonly used as a hit-and-run attacker, meaning that it'll go in, attack, and switch out. Try to spam Rock Slide as much as possible, as it deals good damage to all of its targets and can be used for securing a KO on a weakened Pokemon without having to worry about too low of accuracy or dropping Simisage's stats.

========

Stealth Rock setters like Mesprit and Omastar are good teammates because the entry hazard support they provide can turn 2HKOs from Simisage into OHKOs examples are Regirock and Pelipper, list these , and the rocks they set up break Focus Sashes from Vivillon and Jynx, allowing Simisage to KO them without worrying about the living with one HP and OHKOing it in return. Mesprit also has a slow U-turn, which means that it can safely bring Simisage in most of the time. Omastar on the other hand is a really good teammate because it can both set up Stealth Rock and Spikes, as well as tank Fire-, Ice-, and Flying-type moves aimed at Simisage and KO the users in return. Wallbreakers like Tauros are good teammates too because they can weaken a lot of the foes and get rid of Simisage's checks and counters before Simisage comes in. Fighting-types like Gurdurr and Hariyama are good teammates too; Gurdurr appreciates Simisage's ability to get rid of Mega Audino, whereas Hariyama's amazing HP stat and access to Thick Fat let it tank Ice- and Fire-type moves for Simisage. Sort of like what I said earlier, I think you're overestimating Simisage's ability to check Mega Audino. The only way for it to guaranteed beat a full hp one is for Maudino to switch in on rocks and get poisoned by Gunk; one or the other isn't guaranteed to do it. There's also the fact that if they choose not to Mega, Simisage is forced to Superpower, which can easily be stalled out...I'd delete this sentence, the other examples are sufficient. And while I understand it does 2hko the offensive set, I don't think that's a distinction worth making

Other Options
=============

A Specially-based set with Focus Blast and an appropriate Hidden Power can be used to lure in physically defensive foes and KO them with ease while also providing stronger Leaf Storms with either Choice Specs or Life Orb. Nasty Plot can be used to threaten a sweep but if difficult to make work due to Simisage's only-decent Speed tier and mediocre bulk. Taunt lets Simisage prevent entry hazard setters, status users, and setup sweepers from prevailing their roles but is difficult to use to to Simisage's low bulk and is hard to fit into Simisage's set over a highly-needed coverage move. Substitute is good for avoiding Sucker Punch and other forms of priority, and can be used alongsite Life Orb to trigger Overgrow for boosted Giga Drains to deal heavy hits and regain health with. Gluttony + Salac Berry can be used but is unnecessary and difficult to use unless you're trying to go for a late-game sweep with Simisage.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Poison-types like Garbodor, Vileplume, Weezing, and Skuntank can live any of Simisage's attacks with ease and OHKO it in return with their Poison-type STAB moves.

**Priority Users, Faster Pokemon, and Revenge Killers**: Sucker Punch Shiftry, Skuntank, and Kangaskhan; Bullet Punch Hariyama; Ice Shard Piloswine and Abomasnow; Quick Attack Zangoose; and Mach Punch Gurdurr and Hitmonchan can all either live a hit from Simisage and 2HKO it with their respective priority moves or come in on it while it's weakened and revenge kill it. Faster Pokemon like Scyther, Swellow, Archeops, Tauros, and Pyroar can switch in on Simisear's main STAB move, Leaf Storm, and force it out, even after Stealth Rock damage. However, even though they all survive a Leaf Storm from Simisear, the amount of damage that they take really hinders their play later in the match, so they're better off just coming in after a teammate is KOed and forcing Simisage out.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulky Pokemon like Mega Audino (-_-) and Musharna are barely even fazed by any of the moves Simisage has to throw at them and can proceed to set up on, PP stall, or outright KO Simisage with ease; they also disregard Leaf Storms from Simisage with recovery moves like Wish and Moonlight, thus rendering Simisage useless.

Agree with all the stuff pointed out in the above check but one thing I'd like to emphasize for an analysis like this is that the overview should be reworded so that all the Pokemon's positives are listed first and then list the negatives. For such a niche Pokemon, the reader should be able to quickly identify why they should consider using Simisage on a team. Currently the overview is written so that you have it going back and forth between positives and negatives, so please reword and rearrange it as such.

After that, move this along to GP.

Moves
========

Set Details

Maximum Speed investment, alongside 152 Attack EVs and 104 Special Attack EVs, Life Orb, and a Naive nature, allow Simisage to be as fast as possible, outspeeding base 100s, while still having enough EVs to KO OHKO (Comment: since the ev spread is pretty specific i assume you mean OHKO here? ) prominent threats like Kangaskhan with Superpower, Jynx and bulky Charizard with Rock Slide, and Lilligant and Ludicolo with Gunk Shot. Overgrow lets Simisage hit any Pokemon with a freakishly strong Leaf Storm and Giga Drain when it's low on health.

Usage Tips
========

========

Stealth Rock setters like Mesprit and Omastar are good teammates because the entry hazard support that they provide can turn 2HKOs from Simisage into OHKOs against bulky Pokemon like Regirock and Pelipper, and the Stealth Rock that they set up breaks in addition to breaking Focus Sashes from Vivillon and Jynx, allowing Simisage to KO them without worrying about them surviving with one HP and OHKOing it in return.

Other Options
=============
