[OVERVIEW]

- Blazing fast speed allows Shaymin-s to outspeed a large number of major threats.
- Serene grace coupled with two excellent STABs to abuse it in Seed Flare and Air Slash (gotta flinch hax)
- Great for taking out notable pokemon like Gastrodon and Rotom-Wash who many teams can struggle with.
- Seed Flare eases on prediction with its added bonus of having an 80% to lower the opponents special defense by two stages which is an incredibly powerful effect.
- Shaymin-s is unaffected by intimidate and can even KO premier uses of the ability such as Hitmontop with a Life Orb boosted Air Slash
- Shaymin-s has a decent typing with resistances to water and fighting as well as an immunity to ground. However it does have a 4x weakness to ice and a weakness to fire and rock, all of which have a fairly common spread move.
- Shaymin-s doesn’t only has 100 / 75 / 75 defenses meaning it is worn down quickly and often KOd by any super effective hit.
- Has support options but is often outclassed by other, bulkier pokemon.

[SET]

name: Offensive
move 1: Air Slash
move 2: Seed Flare
move 3: Earth Power / Hidden Power Ice
move 4: Protect
item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 4HP / 252 spA / 252 spe /

[SET COMMENTS]

- The quintessential annoying set. Air slash helps Shaymin to support your team with a 60% to cause a flinch which can take threats and counters out of the game and earn free turns for its partner.
- Seed flare hits bulky waters like gastrodon even KOing variants with a Rindo berry. It also helps you handle Cresselia and can be fired at switch ins to lower their special defense and render them much weaker.
- Earth Power provides coverage to hit steel types which Shaymin can’t otherwise hit whereas HP Ice deals with a plethora of 4x weak mons such as Garchomp and Landorus T. Substitute is another great option and with good prediction it can make Shaymin very hard to kill.
- Protect is standard for doubles and helps Shaymin stay alive longer and is good for prediction.
- Life Orb is recommended to increase damage, providing enough to OHKO 252 / 0 Hitmontop 75% of the time but focus sash can be used to survive a hit.
- Thundurus I is the bane of this set with both STABs being resisted and also threatening Shaymin with paralysis which totally neuters it.
- The set also struggles to take down anything with considerable bulk without luck from Air Slash.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- Shaymin loves paralysis support from something like Thundurus I as it increases the chance for a flinch from Air Slash.
- Teamates packing a powerful Earthquake such as Garchomp are useful thanks to Shaymins Ground immunity.
- Although it looks like it should beat Ludicolo on paper, Ludicolo is faster under swift swim and can easily KO with ice beam.
-Shaymin has to watch out for scarfers such as Genesect who will easily beat it with the boosted speed.

[OTHER OPTIONS]

- Shaymin has access to the fastest non prankster Tailwind and it is a viable option over Protect or the coverage moves.
- Shaymin can also use Healing Wish coupled with a sash to fire off an attack or too then rejuvenate a battered sweeper, it’s speed makes this appealing but low bulk means you may not always pull it off.
- Shaymin can run gems to get significant KOs for example Grass Gem can be used to have a decent chance to OHKO Tyranitar even in sand. A Life Orb is generally better though.
- Berries such as Yache or Charti can be used but don’t help you survive any significant attacks.
- Shaymin can also run a potent scarf set which has the ability to outspeed and KO Ludicolo, however, it cannot reliably beat Kingdra.
- Safeguard can be used to protect your team from status.
- Leaf Storm may be used over Seed Flare for the higher accuracy and higher base power which allows it to KO Tyranitar more often.
- Leech Seed can be used but is generally not advised as it it outclassed by its offensive moves.
- Worry seed is another support option to take tricky abilities such as levitate out of the game.

[CHECKS AND COUNTERS]

- Thundurus
- Weavile
- Mamoswine
- Scarves such as Genesect, Heatran and Ninetales
- Kyurem / Kyurem-Black
- Swift Swimmers (Kingrda / Ludicolo)
- Trick Room
- Sun Teams
- Lati@s are also hard for shaymin to touch

I would rename the main set to just Offensive.

For Checks and Counters: Mention that Scarf Heatran, Scarf Ninetales, and Trick Room Sun in general absolutely wrecks Skymin's day. Also mention the Latis, as Skymin can't do much against them and is seriously threatened by HP Fire and Ice. Excadrill murders with Rock Slide, and completely outspeeds in the sand. Finally mention that Tornadus is also a serious dick, as non-hp ice can't really touch it and gets OHKO'd in return by Acrobatics.

For Other Options: Mention Substitute as Skymin really enjoys the protection from status and the defensive coushin. Mention speedy Sub Seed as well. Finally, mention Worry Seed as a possible surpirse option to remove some troublesome abilities that might otherwise give a team trouble (such as levitate).

I think scarf could go to OO, but that at best. As I said in your last analysis, it's "scarfers", not scarves :/

Definitely slash Modest in nature section, since it has so much speed it don't need that big Timid always.

Hesitating to QC this though, would like to some more eyes on it first.

(and I am not going to QC anything with 2 lines of frickin suggestions)

i'd like to see grass gem specifically getting a mention since it lets skymin ohko ttar sometimes, as well as being almost as powerful as a dgem draco meteor. also add leaf storm to oo or maybe even put it in ac since it grabs a KO on ttar more often than seed flare in part due to accuracy. other moves that would be neat in oo are safeguard, endeavor and leech seed.

damn it you know what i mean

I'd give Substitute a bigger mention (AC). Shaymin-Sky can easily capitalize on a good prediction, and the protection Substitute gives you is very useful for a vulnerable Pokemon such as Skymin. You don't miss out on coverage that much, as some Steel-types are hit neutrally by Air Slash, and you can always take care of them with your partner. Substitute also works very well with flinchhaxing, but obviously that doesn't work as well as it does in Singles.

Also don't forget to mention spread moves in c&c. Skymin is weak to all of Icy Wind, Rock Slide, Heat Wave, and Blizzard. Pokemon like Cresselia and Jirachi can be very annoying for Shaymin-S if they have Icy Wind as they don't get OHKO'd and really cripple Skymin.

Just played a couple of games with a sub, can't believe I've never done this before. Gonna slash it with earthpower and HP Ice and write a little sentence up.

Overview

- List some notable threats it outruns, such as Scarf Tar, Scarf Abomasnow, Tornadus, and Darkrai.
- Great for taking out notable pokemon like Gastrodon and Rotom-Wash who many teams can struggle with.
Add Breloom, too
- Shaymin-s has a decent typing with resistances to water and fighting as well as an immunity to ground. However it does have a 4x weakness to ice and a weakness to fire and rock, all of which have a fairly common spread move.
list out these spread moves
- Shaymin-s doesn’t only has 100 / 75 / 75 defenses meaning it is worn down quickly and often KOd by any super effective hit.
That's actually quite a decent defensive stat for a blitzing sweeper like Shaymin-S, so I'd remove this.

Moveset

- I am not quite sold on Focus Sash - it's not THAT frail, it can easily tank a hit without a Sash. Sand or Hail damage would nullify its effect, too. I think there's a better item choice available for Shaymin-S. I personally use Yache Berry to survive STAB Ice Shards and non-STAB HP Ice and Ice Beams. You can drop Focus Sash to AC.

- Actually, I'll remove Modest and drop it to AC. Going Modest means it speed ties with Tornadus and is now slower than Scarf Tyranitar, which is terrible for a Pokemon weak to Rock Slide.
ability: Serene Grace
remove this row, since it's given
evs: 4HP / 252 spA / 252 spe /
fix the spaces, slashes, capitalization
- Earth Power provides coverage to hit steel types which Shaymin can’t otherwise hit whereas HP Ice deals with a plethora of 4x weak mons such as Garchomp and Landorus T
add Fire-types as the common targets of Earth Power; be more specific by naming the targets of Earth Power, like you have done for HP Ice (HEATRAN, Chandelure, Metagross). Not sure if Garchomp is a good example, since Yache Berry throws a wrench into the equation. Other Flying- or Dragon-types may be more appropriate here, such as Thundurus or Latios.
- Although it looks like it should beat Ludicolo on paper, Ludicolo is faster under swift swim and can easily KO with ice beam.
This should go under Checks & Counters
-Shaymin has to watch out for scarfers such as Genesect who will easily beat it with the boosted speed
Dont simply list Shaymin-S's weakness without offering a solution.

Moves

You forgot to slash Substitute onto the main set

Tailwind deserves an AC mention at least (move it up from OO)

Items

Explanations of Charti Berry, Focus Sash, and Grass Gem goes here rather than in OO, since they are directly relevant to the set

Teammates

Offer more teammates options please. Offensive partners include 1) Pokemon that can deal with Steel-, Dragon-, Thundurus, and Cresselia and 2) Pokemon that appreciates Shaymin-S's ability to eliminate Water- and Fighting-types. Here are some examples:

  1. Heatran - appreciates the elimination of Water- & Fighting-types, while Shaymin-S appreciates Heatran's ability to roast Steel-types.
  2. Kingdra - appreciates the elimination of Gastrodon, Rotom-W, & Wide Guard Hitmontop, while Shaymin-S appreciates Kingdra's ability to drown Steel-types and obliterate Dragon-types.
  3. Bisharp - appreciates removal of Fighting-types and bulky Water-types, while Shaymin-S appreciates Bisharp's ability to check Cresselia and Lati@s
  4. Tyranitar - appreciates removal of Fighting- and Water-types, while Shaymin-S appreciates Tyranitar's ability to pound on Cresselia, Thundurus, and most dragons with its STAB.
  5. Hydreigon - appreciates the removal of Fighting-types, while Shaymin-S appreciates Hydreigon's ability to pound on Cresselia, Thundurus, and other Dragon-types (require Tailwind support, though)
  6. Follow Me / Rage Powder - Volcarona deserves a special mention for being able to offensively support Shaymin-S with Bug Buzz that destroys Cresselia, Lati@s, and Hydreigon and Fire Gem Overheat to KO even bulky Thundurus (and of course Steel-types). Shaymin-S in the other hands, outrun and dispose most common Rock Slide users and Water-types for Volcarona.
Checks & Counters

Never seen a Scarf Ninetales, so I'd remove it / replace it with a more relevant Scarfer (ie Scarf Cloyster)

Replace Sun Teams, with sturdy Fire-types like Chandelure, Victini, and Heatran (without Earth Power)

Add Hydreigon

Add Cresselia

Add Bisharp, Metagross, Jirachi

Add Togekiss and Tornadus
