Mimikyu as a check.

Mimikyu (M) @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA) / Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Shadow Claw
- Play Rough
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance

Mimikyu has a place on a handful of HO builds as a spinblocker and has a fantastic ability, letting it take 0 from one move. Due to the virtue of its ability, Mimikyu can emergency check Volcarona pretty reliably. The Ghostium Z set can unleash its Z-move and then pick off Volcarona with Shadow Sneak (provided Mimikyu isn't Adamant, which has a chance of killing).

Note that, while Z-moves are non-contact, Mimikyu could potentially receive a burn upon revenging with Shadow Sneak.

252 Atk Mimikyu Never-Ending Nightmare (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Volcarona: 253-298 (81.3 - 95.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Mimikyu Shadow Sneak vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Volcarona: 73-87 (23.4 - 27.9%) -- 81.3% chance to 4HKO
252+ Atk Mimikyu Never-Ending Nightmare (140 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Volcarona: 277-327 (89 - 105.1%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
Z-priority moves lose the priority

Muk-Alola @ Assault Vest
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Atk / 120 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Slide
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off
- Pursuit

Alolan Muk is a decent Check to Volcarona, as it can eat up any of Volcarona's moves due to it's massive Special Defense when boosted with Assault Vest, and retaliate with Rock Slide, which OHKOes any non-Charti Berry Volcarona. However, Alolan Muk can get worn down by repeated switch-ins, and gets 2HKOed by +1 Inferno Overdrive. However, if Volcarona is not running Firium Z, Alolan Muk doesn't get 2HKOed by any of it's attacks at +1, which makes it much easier to defeat.

252 SpA Volcarona Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 120 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 109-130 (26.3 - 31.4%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+1 252 SpA Volcarona Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 120 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 165-195 (39.9 - 47.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 252 SpA Volcarona Inferno Overdrive (185 BP) vs. 248 HP / 120 SpD Assault Vest Muk-Alola: 276-325 (66.8 - 78.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

136+ Muk-Alola Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Volcarona: 400-472 (128.6 - 151.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
136+ Muk-Alola Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Charti Berry Volcarona: 200-236 (64.3 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Dugtrio as a check

Dugtrio @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Memento
- Aerial Ace

When equipped with a Choice Scarf, duggy is able to check even a +1 Volcarona and trap and KO it with Stone Edge. With a Jolly nature you can take care of stuff like scarf tapu koko, but adamant gives you more power. Earthquake is necessary for obvious reasons, Memento helps to create setup opportunities when dugtrio has nothing better to do, and aerial ace is its best option for stuff like Buzzwole.

Our victim for this week is bulky SD Scizor

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 116 Def / 128 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn

Explanation: While losing a niche in the recently departed metagross it still checks much of the metagame thanks to the tiers prevalence of fairies and steels allowing to come in easily repeatadly during a game. Acting as a pivot, lategame cleaner and a win Condition Scizors Bulk and good typing allows it to come in on numourous OU threats such as Landorous, Tapu Bulu and Clefable that run around in the tier with ease to either set up SD or Scout movesets. Unfortunatly it rather Predictable but for teams not prepred it is nothing short of a menace.

Goodluck everyone

Reserving Magnezone.

Magnezone as a counter.

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 116 HP / 252 SpA / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

Magnezone is one of the best M-Scizor counter in the tier; thanks to its decent defensive typing, good Special Attack and great ability, Magnezone can successfully trap Scizor because of Magnet Pull and OHKO it with a Specs-boosted HP Fire, while being able to take anything Scizor can throw at it even after a Swords Dance. The EV spread allows it to outspeed the listed Scizor spread so it can KO it before it U-Turns out, but it can be tweaked to outspeed speed-creeping Scizor.

252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 128 SpD Scizor-Mega: 384-452 (111.9 - 131.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 0 Atk Technician Scizor-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 116 HP / 0 Def Magnezone: 40-48 (12.9 - 15.4%) -- possible 7HKO

+2 0 Atk Scizor-Mega U-turn vs. 116 HP / 0 Def Magnezone: 95-112 (30.6 - 36.1%) -- 54.2% chance to 3HKO

Volcarona as a counter

Volcarona @ Firium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Ground

Volcarona not only takes pitiful damage from both Bullet Punch and U-turn, but is also able to use Mega Scizor as setup fodder. If Stealth Rock is not on Volcarona's side of the field, it can avoid the 3HKO from even +2 Bullet Punch and proceed to set up a Quiver Dance. Boosted Volcarona tends to be super hard for a lot of teams to deal with, which is why this set kind-of punishes Scizor just for coming in and hitting anything other than U-turn.
